George Pickens: They Keep Me Happy | Player Interviews
George, just talk about how excited you guys are to have Sidi back on the field this uh Sunday. Super excited. Uh I don’t even think the words can explain fully him and possibly Turk. So, uh super excited. And what does that mean for an already number one ranked offense? Just how much more dangerous does that make it for you guys as far as other teams trying to figure out who to who to defend? Yeah, way more dangerous. Uh way more explosive too when you got other guys like C and Turpp out there. Uh it’s another component of explosiveness that you can’t really describe. You know what I mean? Shotty Shotti was talking about how you can, you know, these last few games with CD out, they’ve been able to move you around more. How much has opened up for you in these three games and where’s your confidence level at with just how things are going with Shotty and everything? Uh, super good. Uh, like I said, moving me around, especially when C was out. Uh, which gave me a better understanding of like the full playbook now, you know what I mean? Uh, as well. So, like when C comes back, Turk comes back now, they can move more of us all around, you know, a little bit better than we did before. How how much more dangerous do you think you guys could be as a unit with that added element? Uh super dangerous. Uh super dangerous. Especially plus Ferg, too. You can’t figure out Ferg, but uh super dangerous. How much fun are you having out there playing football? Uh super fun. Uh especially like the guys like this in the locker room. Uh and want to make plays, especially on the offense. Uh the guys that I see every day, receivers, Flo, PC, uh they kind of keep me super happy as well. Have you always played this much joy or people just didn’t see it or why didn’t they see it? it seem like it’s like a new revelation about Yeah, definitely. Uh especially off the camera, so I can’t record myself. So, I feel like definitely people can put stuff out there to kind of, you know, tarnish the image, but uh I always feel like I was having fun, like you said. Uh and definitely, like I said, with the guys in the receiver room, like I said, PCC, Turb, the guys I see every day kind of, you know, keep us uplifted as well. Coach talked about how you have choreography after big plays, whether practice around the games. Do you practice that? Do you play in it? Uh, it’s a little bit of both. Uh, I’m an energy guy, so like I caught a few go balls today and I was just thinking like if I catch that in the game, then I’m gonna do this or if I catch a sling, get a first down, I’m going to do this. So, I definitely think about it. And the hand and the handshakes you have with what coach said was 40 different people. Yeah. Do you always come up with them or uh most sometimes other guys come up come up with some and then tell them to me but uh definitely since I was new on the team that’s kind of something that I wanted to bring to the team you know lots of handshakes for the guys you have those in Pittsburgh. Uh yeah I had a few just with not as many guys I do now. Yeah. Do you have a favorite this time around? Uh I feel like everybody’s you know pretty cool honestly. Where where’s that catch? The one across the middle that then you leap over a guy for you personally. Where is that rank? Um, I’ll probably say out of all the players I’ve made in my life, not dead last, but definitely in the middle somewhere. Why? Why is that? Uh, just cuz I’ve did crazier stuff. Uh, as far as practice, game. Uh, pretty sure everybody’s seen a catch when I was at the Steelers. I’ve just done wilder things to me, I feel like. And I feel like like to play like on Sunday is a kind of wild thing to everybody else. You know what I mean? Do you visualize stuff like that? Uh, no. I’m definitely an instinct guy, you know. Uh, definitely figure out when guys are going to do certain things and then I react. Do you ever surprise yourself? Uh, the most surprising I ever had in a game was probably the catch that I had uh like two, three years ago. That was probably most surprising. George, how close are you to having that chemistry with Dak Prescott where you guys can just look at each other and know what what needs to get done? Uh, super close now. even closer. I’ll probably say, you know, halfway through the through the season, uh, moving me around, kind of like he said, uh, got the chemistry even more, especially when CD was out. Is this why you came here? The production you’re seeing, the fun you’re having, you know, showing people that I’m that dude. Is this why you came here? Want wanted to be here? It’s definitely something that I wanted to showcase. Uh, I wouldn’t say like a total reason of like why I came here, but definitely something I wanted to showcase. Terry said you’ve been better than expected. Um, do you would you be open to staying here long term? Uh, I wouldn’t mind it. Uh, like I said, the guys in the locker room super cool. Uh, the energy is great. Uh, but like I said, I always, you know, want to showcase my talents. Most definitely. This a looming contract situation kind of make you nervous or how does it how does it make you feel knowing? I mean, this is the best stretch of your career. Uh, I probably wouldn’t really say all that cuz I’m definitely in the middle of the season. So, like I’m not fully fully thinking about it. I kind of just want to keep going and uh see how far we can get in the season as far as playoffs and stuff like that. But uh definitely, you know, keep on improving for sure. When it comes when it comes to your personality, Shotty said today that you say a lot of things that make guys here laugh. Uh he said, you know, you had some catch and and he was like, wow, could you believe that? And you were like, I know, right? Do you consider yourself a funny guy? How would you describe your personality? Oh, definitely. Uh especially to the guys, I’m super funny. I feel like uh when you really get to know me, I feel like Shotty really knows me. So, that’s one thing he definitely can say about me because I’m definitely a goofy guy that likes people makes people laugh for sure. How else are you goofy? Uh, just, you know, just certain jokes and certain little puns for guys. You know, we’re always playing football, so you know, I kind of lighten it up. George, you talk about long term. What’s most important? Is it quarterback play? Is it is it winning? Is it money? I mean, what what’s what do you think about just, hey, I want to be some place in the next Definitely winning. I feel like uh just because that’s been like my resume the whole time. time I won in high school, I won at Georgia. Uh so that’s probably definitely winning and I always think about winning. So yeah, got in the end zone five straight games. Why is that? And how do you keep that going? Uh playmaking, uh rat catches, turning little catches to big ones. Uh trying to, you know, make explosiveness on big big catches. Uh just a lot of playmaking. How much have you gotten to connect with Jerry Jones and how would you describe that relationship so far? Uh he’s definitely a cool guy for me. It’s a guy I’ve always uh watched on TV and stuff like that. Uh but I definitely say he’s definitely a bigger person than you know everybody else knows him around here. I feel like he has his own life going on as well too and that’s kind of like the part that I want to know about Jerry. You know him outside of football. Have you guys talked at all about future? Uh no not much. We kind of been in the lab and then focusing definitely focusing on getting CD back and a few guys back too. What’s something you learned about Jerry Jones that you didn’t know beforehand? Uh I haven’t seen him in a while. I haven’t seen him since like the uh first day I kind of got here. But uh definitely he’s a light-hearted guy. You know, I feel like the media is definitely can like I said, it can definitely tarnish some people or give the wrong image to people, but I feel like if you was to sit down and have a conversation with him was a light-hearted guy. How in tune were you with the narratives about you in Pittsburgh? You know, it was people sending you stuff and hard to ignore. Uh it wasn’t really hard to ignore because I knew who I was. I’m the person who’s everybody saying now. You see what I mean? It’s just like a thing that you just kind of have to go through and then I always kind of knew that the people don’t know me so I never really cared. Do you think that this organization brought more of that out of you or show it as much in Pittsburgh? I think there’s better opportunity opportunities for me to uh show myself here. Despite you guys being two, three, and one, the division is still wide open. If you guys defeat the commanders, you move into second place. just talk about how critical it is for you to get this win, especially Yeah, you definitely uh that’s one thing I definitely want to do is definitely get the win. Uh especially here. Every game we’ve done played here, you know, we kind of didn’t it was a tie with the Green Bay game, but we was definitely possibly winning that one as well. Uh so definitely just want to keep home.
George Pickens met with the media following Wednesday’s practice to share his thoughts on CeeDee Lamb & KaVontae Turpin’s potential return, the flexibility of playing in multiple positions, his joy for playing football and more.

My man said “ def not last, in the middle somewhere” you know he’s got em dying in the locker room 😂
I feel bad for him. If the Cowboys don’t make a deep run, he will be a wasted talent. Fuck Jerry Jones.
“How else are you goofy” 🤓💀😂
Love you George Pickens!!! ❤
I really hope jerry pays this guy
He wants an extension… C'mon jerry. Even if we don't win this dude is FUN to watch..
George how frustrating does it feel to produce the numbers the offense is putting up and the defense can’t make a stop?
GP fina hit a lick fo like 30+
Sign him now man! GP is so damn cool and chill. He is that guy. Nothing phases him. Come on Jerry!
So happy for GP! Prayers he stays healthy and lets get that ring
NO one tells my man he has stuff on his chin before or during the interview……where is my brother's keeper, lol. Loved the responses thou.
Only bad part abt GP … his agent is muhleghetta …. Mend that JJ
We love you gp you need to be a cowboy for life
GP and his aggressiveness to make them plays gives me great vibes that we have one of the most explosive offenses in the league. We just need our defense to tighten up some and get some stops when we have the lead. That's all we need the defense to do man
Love watching GP play he has a great vibe I don't understand all the hate he got when he was in Pittsburgh.
GP is Top 10 in WR's for sure this year and he just getting started guys. He is gonna be a great receiver either for us Cowboys or whoever can get him the best contract
GP hope you dont sign with Dallas bro. GO AND GET YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE man. Dallas is not the place for you man. AND I AM A COWBOYS fan….as long Jerry Jones owns the team ….WE THE FANS will never see another SB from our boys
Word of the day "SUPER"

-WE HAVE A SUPERBOWL OFFENSE, DEFENSE PLEASE CATCH UP…COWBOYS 4LIFE NO MATTER WHAT…
He’s SUPER fun to watch. Ceedee is my guy but I had to buy my Pickens jersey. He seems so much happier and not the person I heard rumors of him to be.
How bout dem Cowboys! 🫶🏽 ⭐️ hope to keep him!
Jerry let cooper go don't let Pickens go
Thank You Pittsburgh
Dallas fans love GP and he is a beast and once we can get Overshown and a couple of guys healthier on the defensive side then maybe an extra stop or two is all it will take for this team to go on a big win streak. GP with CeeDee, Turp, Flo, Jake and Javonte beating people up in the run game? OMG they are balling out. However, that defense has talent, but not the coach to get the most out of that talent.
That being said, never been a fan of Eberflus, However, I think Matt can take an unathletic and less talented team and use his zone schemes to maximize that talent and get more out of them than a lot of defensive coaches, but when you have uber talented press cover guys like Bland, Diggs etc. you GOTTA let those guys play aggressively!
I don't understand why, when DQ left, we didn't grab one of those coaches on that staff to be the DC. That scheme was perfect for our squad. Jerry does a great job with the draft and can build a solid squad, but his pick in coaches has been HORRIBLE.
Jason Garrett, the ole clapper, cost us at LEAST 2 more rings with the talent we had and a great QB like Romo, but Garrett wasn't that guy. I thought Wade Phillips was very good, and we had a ton of injuries during the start of the season in which he was wrongfully dismissed. We started horribly due to injuries and they fired him, but he had gone 13-3 and 11-5 in the previous two seasons.
So, ouside of Jimmy and to some extent, Barry (say what you will, he did win a title), overall I think Jerry has done a terrible job hiring coaches. I think Shotty is a good coach, but hey, we gotta get Flus outta here! He just isn't the coach for the defense that we have. The talent is there, but they for damn sure are not a sit back in the zone type of defense…not at all. They are LOST! We have a championship offense and a defense that should be pretty damn good but are hindering our production in the W-L column. Gotta get a new DC!
Hopefully they extend him I might get me a Pickens jersey if they give him an extension
