  1. He put it perfectly. Exact kind of response we’ve been lacking from players speaking candidly.

  2. 100% right. The team has really yet to put together more than 1 good period in a game this year, let alone a full 60 minutes. They look slow and disorganized and really haven’t done anything to settle the concerns most had about this team coming into the year.

  3. Well said, Stolartz, if the coach can’t get them going ,maybe ur message will hopefully clear their ears 👍, it looks like ur the only one not taking a shower and going home like the rest of the fairys, couse ull have ice bags on ur bruises, bunch of fkkkkks ,making all that money ,and still rather fkkkkn skate instead physical hockey 🏒… im done ,2 much stress ,and nothing against the guys that say it’s only 6 games ,6 games will turn into 40 real fast man ,it’s time to make a big trade if we can ,send a message ,wake up or go elsewhere

  4. No shit. The amount of bullshit this team let’s their oppeget away with us mind boggling.

  5. Unfortunately, I don’t think the Leafs are built like that. They like to play on the outside. It feels like you don’t really see them in front of the net very often. Would love to see the Leafs get in front of the opposing teams goalie more often.

  6. The fact that nobody took a run or challenged marchment in any way with a full period left is embarrassing. How are they gonna let their goalie be the most intimidating person on their team?

  7. Apparently Stolarz is talking and yelling all game at his team, letting them know what he sees. As a goalie he has a unique view and sees the way plays are developing and provides commentary so that the team is aware too. I absolutely love how committed and passionate he is to winning. That’s the attitude you want everyone on your team to have, especially your top players.

  8. The problem is, we do it- and we DO get the bigger misconduct penalty or something, and/or suspension. This is a tale as old as time…

  9. love it. basically telling the team that other teams are playing harder than we are. if they’re not going to fight back and stand up for him, at the very least make it hard on their goalie too

  10. Usually not a “call your teammates out publicly” kinda guy, but this is absolutely justified. He has every right to call these guys out especially considering they might not have a win without Stolie in the crease.

Brandon Carlo should be fucking ashamed watching his goalie get blown up by a WELL KNOWN rat clown and just standing there with his hands in his pockets. Pathetic. Show some fucking fight for once in your life, man. That’s every hockey players dream to see their goalie get hit and have the chance to fuckin jump a guy and let him and his teammates know that shit won’t fly. Just embarrassing from Carlo.

  11. Good to see one of these players finally have the nugs to say something about one another. Dudes fed up and he’s right

  12. It was probably alarmingly shocking for Stolie since this type of shit would never happen on his previous team.

  13. Not a Leafs fan, but I LOVE the honesty that some players have. Al you hear now is cliche garbage. I can never listen to any interviews.

  14. Now which way does the team respond,
“I got your back, dig in and toughen up “
    Or
“Whaaa get my agent on the phone, the goalie said mean things about me”
    What is the Leaf way?

  15. The whole ordeal is actually so frustrating for him. Every game he’s in, Stolie carries the team, with or without a helmet, and these bums will not do the same for him. Not sure they’d have their few wins without him tbh. They let him bail them out every time while they play at whatever percentage you call this. Not to mention he’s getting hard contact every game now and he will continue until the league gets involved or his teammates send a message (unlikely for both).

  16. This teams DNA will always be soft. You think the Panthers, Lightning, or Avalanche would let someone run their goalie like that with no repercussions? Bennett took out Knies and Stolarz and these guys have done jack shit other than kiss his ass. It’s hard to cheer for a bunch of pussies who have no heart. Who goes golfing the day after a game 7 loss? There’s no drive or passion. Matthews hasn’t lived up to that C and changed the culture around the team. Knies is the only one who plays with some passion that’s combined with skill. You had kadri the only player who showed some god damn heart and traded him for a fucking defenseman who forgot the first part of his job title (defense) and was just a “man”. A coach like berube can only do so much. Never felt so disassociated with the team in over 30 yrs of watching. Even when we had pa parenteau, Peter Holland, Jeremy bracco, they showed more fucking heart. Pathetic all around. I’m glad Stolarz called them out a bit. Not that it’ll change anything.

  17. He’s definitely right and the team needs to be better. Especially at protecting their goalie.

My biggest issue with the play in question is why did it happen in the first place?

I get you doing this in playoff series, or to division rivals, or even to Conference opponents that you could play in the playoffs. Even though I think it’s fucked, I get it. You’re creating an advantage for your team. I get it with Boston, Florida, Tampa, Montreal, and even to a lesser degree many other teams.

But for Seattle to try to injure our goalie? We’re in a different conference. We play them one more time this year. The only way we play them in the playoffs is in the finals.

There’s no way Seattle is making the finals, and even if they hurt Stolarz, that’s a long way away and he’ll probably be better.

Why the fuck are Western conference opponents with almost a zero chance of making the finals trying to take out our goalie?

How the fuck does this help you?

  18. Great quote. I know when I would see my teams most talented players not giving it 100% I’d want to pull my hair out. It’s like dude you are sick why can’t you just give a fuck and try!?!?

  19. Been saying this for years. Glad Stolz finally said what the entire fanbase has been begging them to do for years. Who knows, many they might listen.

  20. Someone’s gotta drop the gloves, this is pathetic, I’ve never been more upset in my 39 years as a leaf fan than I was when Bennett got away with last years headshot. They haven’t learned anything, I have a feeling the coach is preaching power play over message, but this is bigger than that, lose the game, who cares, don’t allow people to run over your most important player.

  21. He 100% called out Nylander during his rant. I LOVE that he’s fired up and calling out Leaf veterans that have been known to be lazy

  22. I’m tired of hearing this after a weird playoff loss. I want to hear it NOW when we can still fix it!

STOLI HAS EASILY BEEN THE BEST LEAF THIS SEASON LETS GO!
