This is in response to the earlier hit on his teammate James. And you can expect to hit stars openly and not have to answer to it. And as a result, this is what’s happening. The fight is on. And the exclamation mark thrown there. Yeah, this fight is over with that decisive last punch, James. After a fight, the heart rate is elevated. You’re sweating, you’re exhausted, and now it’s time to cool off, simmer, reset your emotions so you can get back out there and play after you sit your five. Well, it looks as though the tensions have finally simmered, and we’re ready to get back to what we actually came here in the first place for. And now it’s about building off of that good shift management, dictating pace, controlling the offensive zone, everything. Now it’s on the line. He’s in a high danger scoring area. The Panthers through their hard work and tenacity have taken a one-goal lead here in the second. It’s certainly better to play with the lead, James, but you know that there’s a lot of runway left and your opponent is going to come pushing and pressing. This game has been tight all the way around and I expect that it will continue to be decent with that hit. Lord has got the puck at the defensive end. Detroit’s got the puck into the offensive zone and that’s snapped away in the defensive end by Rodriguez and that one’s turned away and forces a huge turnover here with the steal. When you trail in a game sometimes you try and do too much. You’re overly aggressive and you try and do a high risk, high reward play. And that’s exactly what happens here. Unfortunately, goes the other way. and he coughs it up with the pass. Made the stop on the play. The Panthers can’t control the puck. Receives the pass. Comfort’s got the puck back to the blue line. Takes the shot. Big stop right there. He was locked in there. Goender hangs on for the whistle. [Applause] In the final moments of this period, the Panthers have a little breathing room here, but not much as they lead it 3-2. Sneaks away with the puck after he was tangled up on the draw. And now he tries to get it across to the Brink. And that skips away on a nice defensive deflection. [Applause] [Music] On today’s game, there’s so much emphasis on getting the pump off quickly. Detroit’s offensive pressure has resulted in an equalizer here tonight. As an athlete, you always know the end of the period is critical time and you want to maintain pressure. The most critical piece to possessing the puck. Once they get that possession, they can get the setup and the options that they want. Puck exits the zone.
