So, get into FanDuel and check it out. We have a lot to go over. There has been news in Fallout from this game. We should just call this the Aftermath show. In fact, I might. Um but I I do believe it was a statement game. The question becomes, where are the Chiefs? What does this do for them? Uh do they look like the mold selves? In some ways, they do. In some ways, they have a bit to go, but we’re going to get there. Then we’re going to come back. These players uh were very specifically guys that we need to shout out that maybe we didn’t re run down in the post game or on further review grades, etc. We’re going to run those down as well. And then there was this meltdown that happened after the ball game itself. There was fallout from that today. We’ll get to it all. This is Chris Clark, Casey Chiefs Corner. I’m Ryan Tracy from NFL33.com and rgrootball.com. What do you think? I have a bone to pick with you because you say that they look like them old like their old selves. I disagree. And the reason I disagree is because we’ve never seen this version of Kansas City that we’re about to see this next coming week. I I know we’re going to talk about the Lions game and we need to get to that. I’m not saying we don’t, but this is a team we have never seen because they have never had Hollywood Brown, Xavier Worthy, and Rasheed Rice all on the field at the same time. And that is huge and goes way beyond being their their old selves. I do think there are some players that absolutely look like their old selves. Patrick Mahomes uh continues to look like a fantastic player uh and really in some ways probably playing at an MVP level. Uh won’t be talked about because of their record necessarily, but I do think that he deserves some recognition there. Only two turnovers the entire season and I would definitely argue that only one belongs to him. Um, regardless, yeah, I mean, you look at this offensive line, they did very well without their starting left tackle, which is something that, uh, I don’t think we could say enough about Jaylen Moore. Um, and the the situation he stepped into, but the defense looked like they were getting back to who they were and the offense definitely looked like uh, things were clicking on all cylinders. And I do think that that’s a positive sign, especially now that you’ve I think I saw somebody say that they’ve scored 32 points in the last 32 points a game or something like that in the last couple of weeks. Uh somewhere similar and and if you can do that on offense, you’re going to be in a good situation without the numbers that number actually looks very good. And we do need to talk more about you more. We’re going to do that as as one of the style players coming up here in a little bit, folks. So just hold tight. But I I want to be very specific. What I mean is when we go back to the days when we were talking about six, seven, eight, maybe even nine guys receiving passes for the Kansas City Chiefs offense. That’s specifically what I’m talking about. And I am counting in Rashi, who by the way, Rashi Rice is on the roster. Uh is off of the uh suspended list. Jason Brownley waved today. He is most likely to come right back tomorrow, get onto that practice squad. I thought he was a little bit curious. I had I had theorized last night uh on the other live that Elijah Mitchell might be the guy that gets waved in this kind of condition knowing that hey we want you back. We want you as a reserve that we can pull up so we’ll bring you right back. But I thought it was because Mitchell has not been able to really contribute much whereas Brownley’s been playing special team snaps. Uh this actually caught me a little bit off guard. What did you think? I’m not as surprised because the at the end of the day you’re not going to be able to have that many wide receivers dress. So Brownley wasn’t going to be able to address uh if everybody else was healthy. I don’t think uh with Rashid Rice coming back, there’s going to be some somebody that’s going to have to take the snaps that Brownley was was taking. And I don’t know who that’ll be. We’ll find out. Um won’t be Elijah Mitchell. Obviously won’t be Rasheed Rice. Uh but it is going to be somebody that’s going to be stepping into that position. I would guess it’s going to be a corner. Uh just based on the the roster and the way things are going. Um, what can you say though about this Chief’s offense and how they’ve been playing over the past couple of weeks? Uh, they’ve been getting the job done. Obviously, the Mahomes interception against Jacksonville was costly and I get that, but outside of that one play, he has played pretty flawless almost the entire season to be fair. Uh, and really the only other time he put the ball in harm’s way himself and and this was a bad decision on the Chiefs part, blocking Aiden Hutchinson with Noah Gray is not a good idea. It’s a little bit iffy proposition. I I I got to say I thought the the the full overload with Caliano on the field and then option the other way. Great play design. I still don’t like Patrick running the option. if you’re not going to run the sneak and you’re going to run the option. I don’t I don’t know what we’re doing here cuz it’s just as likely that he gets knocked around there. He’s already taking more chances uh with his own health than I personally like. But that’s that’s had to be the thing to motivate this team to get to 500. Right. And and how do you like the you look at overload, but you also look at uh you know your left tackle Jaylen Moore wasn’t even playing that left tackle. I can’t remember on the specific play. Uh but him playing uh almost right tackle or to the right of Jawan Taylor. I mean you Cali indo. Yeah it was it was interesting. I just I wasn’t expecting to see it and then they go unbalanced to the right and they run it to the left and it’s like okay well that’s something that you don’t expect and obviously the lines didn’t expect it at that point either. It was successful. This is what you need from this offense. This is the the creativity. We’re starting to see things and I said this yesterday and I’ll say it again today and I’ll go even a step further than I went yesterday. I almost think in some ways, granted, you don’t want to lose games and I get that, but I almost wonder if the first three losses of the season for Kansas City are going to end up paying dividends later in the season. Mainly because Andy Reid has had to be more aggressive trying to get this team back to 500. And if he knows how successful they’ve been, is that going to play over? Is he going to continue to allow them to be more aggressive and take more chances knowing that the team usually pays it off? Well, I think that’s a key attribute to this game and the Ravens game. I I do feel that there was a lull against the Jaguars, both from Patrick and from Andy Reed in particular. I think this has to show you that you have you have to run the ball. Holy cow. It’s like I’ve been saying this since we started this show nine years ago. Run the dang ball, Andy. You have to be aggressive at all times. And you have to build more than just a seven-point lead to be comfortable. That’s the way it is right now. And I think that these two of these last three games have proven that lesson. The question becomes, how does he go about that? And Andy Reid is an old dog. He’s got a lot of tricks. Learning new ones that he didn’t come up with seems to become a problem about this time of year. He’s got more going on in his brain than he can handle. And quite frankly, I think it’s not the only thing that brings this team together, but this aggression the last two weeks brought them together. A meltdown after the game did the same thing. That’s coming up later in the show. But we want to get to additional standouts that are coming up next because those guys deserve the attention. And one of them is Leo Chanel next. He has continued to show his value to this team. And it goes beyond just seeing what he does on the field because he changes the way this team plays defense. And the Detroit Lions also play this way. They try to go three linebacker sets as much as you possibly can. You hardly ever see that in the NFL anymore. But Leo Chanal has shown that there’s value on this team and it is helping Kansas City in a game where and I know that you said this on X. I think you said it last night and maybe even said it today, but it was interesting because the first drive they ran the ball I don’t know how many times but it seemed like every single play, but they also had to use two trick plays in order to get down into scoring position. Was that on top of the trick play that they tried to score the touchdown with or No, I was including that. That was one. You’re including that. Okay. Yeah. You know, and Leo’s Leo’s a guy that’s pulling a little bit of everything now. Is he stopping a ton of plays? Last night, it wasn’t so much about the stops. He did have six combined tackles, but gave up a little bit of yards, had a couple missed tackles, I will admit. Um gave up three for three uh in receptions allowed, right? But they limited those to 35 yards. So, you’re talking about a guy that gets put on island against Laaporta. He was in coverage against some wide receivers. At one point, Leo Chanel had Amar saying Brown like this is a guy that’s doing a little bit of everything. And while some games he really does stand out and in producing the stats, that kind of thing, like if I look at pressure from Leo, you didn’t get anything recorded last night, but he’s there and he’s pushing the pocket and he’s threatening. And I think teams understand, right? Exactly. I mean, I was just going to say like he’s played the B gap before, but as a standup linebacker mugging it up, not as the three tech that’s supposed to man it. So, like just the fact that he’s that versatile and when you have somebody go down nor Omar Norman Lot not playing what what do you get like 11 snaps last night. Uh you needed somebody to supplement like Dana Charles Meny trying to step there G trying to put out a little bit more but Leo was there for that. He’s there in coverage and it’s just he’s a glue guy at this point. At least in this game, he was a blue guy. He didn’t have one of those outstanding plays, but he does make those quite often. Yeah. And I’ll give credit to you. You you talked about him covering on raw St. Brown. Uh Nick Bolton had on on R St. Brown as well on one specific play and and a huge third down play where Jared Goff threw the ball and uh you know, Nick Bolton was in the in the way and caused him to throw it to where it wasn’t going to be caught. So, uh you know, huge play by Nick on that one. Jaylen Moore. I I I said this before we started recording this show. You have to talk about him. I don’t care how many pressures he ended up giving up. What was it? Three, I think, according to PFF. Uh, one in the first half. And playing against Aiden Hutchinson and I’m forgetting the other Lions uh, edge rusher Muhammad. Is that correct? Yes. Mhm. Okay. Yeah. Playing against those two, this is a formidable defensive front. And the other guy, and this isn’t necessarily on Jaylen Moore, but the offensive line in general, Al McNeel came back and played in this game, if I remember correctly, coming back from an injury, and that was a big deal for this Lions defense, too. And he didn’t really do anything either. So, this entire offensive line played fantastic last night, and it was without their starting left tackle. And thank you Brett Beach for being smart enough to go spend $15 million a year on a backup left tackle cuz I don’t care. This helped you get a win in this situation. If that is one Morris or you do whatever you have to do to try to put somebody else out there at left tackle, I don’t know that the Chiefs win this game period, let alone comfortably. Yeah, absolutely. Uh Alcad Muhammad, that one sack. Yeah. Okay, that was there. It’s also his only tackle. It’s literally the only time I heard the guy’s name all night long. But was it that Mahomes basically eating the ball on that sack? I wouldn’t necessarily say that he did dip and he and he used his speed. He got Jaylen off off kilter off balance in particular and a little bit high. So I mean it was a good pass rusher whether Mahomes was ducking it or not. Like that was a good play, but literally the only time that I heard his name mentioned all night long and and kudos to him. Now Mc uh McNeel was available but I I did double check. I don’t think he played any snaps. I don’t have him on the list here. I could be wrong, but this I am going just off a snap count somebody else put together. So, don’t don’t hold me accountable. A lot of people were asking me about the penalties last night. Um, hey, if you decline penalties, they don’t count. So, you weren’t penalized. There was no punishment in the penalty. So, no, the Chiefs did not incur any penalties last night. So, that’s something to say as well. Now, more I think people were melting down about the value that you had to have. And I think this proved out to be the way that it’s designed to be. They made a decision before the draft to have a guy that they felt could come in and play a game like this. And let’s be real, to jump in against this pass rush duo to give up three pressures, that’s great for a guy, you know, who had not started consistently in San Francisco before either. And to come off cold, especially on a day’s notice, it’s really, really impressive. But the thing was they knew making that investment was always going to be about what it could do, what you would might have to do. And this is a case where you might have to. Next year it’s going to be about could because he will be the right tackle next season. And that I think is probably the the thing that made me feel better this morning versus last night. Last night was good to get a win. This morning it’s good to know that you have both your tackles for next season. Yeah. And I will I will take this time to say this. I want to give a shout out to Jawan Taylor. One pressure from Jawan Taylor. Jawan Taylor has played two clean games in a row for this team and he’s moving in the right direction. If that continues, we are in a great situation going forward and Kansas City is going to be this offensive line is getting better and better every week. And the guy that isn’t going to get enough praise for how he’s continued to grow through it is Kingsley Suatia who had zero pressures last night. That is a huge, huge deal for this team. And just looking at how this offensive line was going to go, the question was, can Kingsley stand up? Can he be somebody that can step in and be a good starter or even a, you know, an even average starter would be okay? He’s stepped in and been a good starter the past couple of weeks. And without playing next to Jaylen Moore most of the offseason, that’s also something to take into account. They have no chemistry between those two really to speak of and they still step in and get the job done against a good front. A and they finished off what has been um a bit of a progression for the offense. Uh just to share a couple of rankings now from our friends at True Media. Um there’s more information in True Media than I can even get my hands on, but I’m just going to give you a couple that stand out to me. Offensive points per games, they’ve now climbed to number seven in this league. When you look at u sacks per attempt, the the number of of dropbacks, they’re now in the top 10 at number six. That’s incredible for where we’re going. And much along with the the aggression conversation we had a little bit earlier, Andy Reid has got this team now fourth down itself conversion percent. They’re number three in the league now. And they don’t do the tush push. So that’s pretty dang incredible, too. If they can keep this up and continue to dist distribute the ball, they’re going to be in very good shape. But and they’ve done it all without their best wide receiver and a guy who’s easily, in my opinion, a top 10 wide out in the NFL and could be even higher. And Brian Branch, if you’re pissed off about Juu, be happy Rashid wasn’t out there. So that’s what we’re going to talk about next. We’ll drop all the breaking news and some specific things just to um the everydayers that are out there because that’s where they hang out on the text line and that does definitely help. Now, I didn’t put anything on the text line today. I’m not going to because this this whole situation after the ball game was kind of a little bit strange and I I teased Brian Branch because quite frankly, you were a jerk last night and you deserve to be teased. But if you’re upset about Guju hitting you hard, uh getting Rashi back is definitely something that changes not just the explosiveness of this this team, but the physicality of what you can do in this pass play. And I think that was something and Juju did outside of the blocking that did bother. I mean, you can argue about some of those blocks. Hines made a living doing this, folks, of hitting guys just close enough to be not a block in the back. Nobody villainized him, so I ain’t too worried about it. And he did produce on the field. Yeah. Yeah. What an idea, right? Um and I I think he contributed enough on the field with other physicality that it did did round out his game in my opinion. And I think last night showed that you don’t have to go down on first contact. Whether you’re Kareem Hunt, whether you’re Isaiah Pacheco, and certainly if you’re one of the wide receivers, you can survive contact. Now, I’m not saying that they should look for it. Xavier, don’t go looking for contest. Thank you. Outside I was about to say that outside Xavier were the fine with that. But Xavier go down. But that’s the thing is this meltdown was emotion, right? And I just feel like it’s because the Chiefs were physical and now it’s going to get even worse for opposing defenses because Rice is going to be back. What did you think of the whole situation? Uh, poor sportsmanship obviously, but it goes I mean to me it was poor sportsmanship when he’s not shaking people’s hands and you saw that on video. Um, people want to blame Patrick Mahomes. I don’t understand it other than the fact that people just want to blame Patrick for anything. So, at this point, it is what it is. Uh, the other thing I will say is I think he’s lucky you just got one game. Um, I know that may be unpopular, but you do it after the game is over. Like I think you deserve more than just one game. I think that a statement needs to be made about that kind of thing because there’s no reason for that in football. Like there’s enough physicality, there’s enough times on the football field and we’ve seen people, you know, hit people in the field to play during the game and get a suspension of of the game after the game when you’re supposed to be shaking hands and that’s what Ju Guu was going to do at that point. It’s on clear as day on video. He’s trying to shake the guy’s hand and to just cold him. I think it deserves more, but it is what it is at this point. He’ll be suspended for a week. I can’t imagine he’s going to try to uh appeal that. The other thing that’s interesting on that is he’s been suspended a lot or not suspended, but he’s been fined a lot for different things over his career so far in the NFL. And that’s the other part that’s interesting to me and another reason why I’m surprised he only got one game. Yeah, I I agree with you. I think there’s a pattern there for a player that I liked coming out of college. But as as much as he is an asset on the field, he’s also a liability mentally in in terms of what else is that doing to your locker room? There are locker rooms around this league that are crumbling right now. I mean, absolutely. Ask look at what happened to Tennessee and the things that their players had to actually say to the media yesterday in that this was the worst week of practice we ever had. The Lions aren’t there, but it certainly makes things more difficult when you have a player that has that kind of maturity issue. So hopefully he can learn from that and um be ready for next time because I do think there’s a significant possibility that the Chiefs see this team in the postseason and and for those of you that are like whoa whoa whoa they’re just 500. Well they keep playing like this and they’ll be much better than 500 when it comes to the end of the season. This is a team that has outplayed their record by a good bit in my opinion. They also have the hardest strength of schedule for the first six weeks of any team with with a record that is 500 or better. So, and yeah, I’ll throw shade at the Bills. The Bills have the worst. Uh I think the Bills have half the strength of schedule that Kansas City has. I think Kansas City is like at 533. The Bills are like 240. Um what do you say it? I mean, how do you how do you justify how these teams are looking at different points? I I’m not saying the Bills aren’t a good team. They are a good team, but they’ve had a much softer schedule than Kansas City has. And Kansas City’s played the Super Bowl champions. They played the Baltimore Ravens. They played two of the best offenses in football so far this year. And I’m not, and it’s funny, the Eagles were thought to be a powerhouse and a huge offense and Kansas City basically shut them down if it’s not for that game-changing uh, you know, interception that that was caused by Travis Kelce. I think that game changes differently. I was actually talking to another one of my friends today. The Kansas City’s probably two plays from being five and one legitimately arguably the two turnovers I assume you’re talking about. Yeah, easily because they both turn games, right? And it’s 14-point swing on both of them and I don’t think the Eagles are coming back and scoring the 14 points they need to win that game. And I don’t think Jacksonville is going to come back if Kansas City scores a touchdown at that point because it was a completely different game and it flipped momentum. So they are two plays away from being 5- one. And the other part of that is the thing that isn’t talked about enough is how well Mahomes is playing and taking care of the football. I we talked about it just a little bit earlier, but to have two interceptions on the season and one is completely not his fault. Um, yeah, let me let me check that again. Interceptions per attempt. They’re number five in this league. Number five. Yeah. And they’re getting ready to play a team that turns the ball over like crazy in with their QB. So, uh, that’ll be something. That’s the one thing if you go past just the inability to get sacks, that’s the one thing that bothers me with this defense is they’re not getting turnovers. Because if this defense starts getting turnovers with the offense playing the way it has without their best wide receiver, um, yeah, good luck. You’re finally like, you’re literally about to see a situation where Hollywood Brown becomes your fourth option at best. Maybe I I still think Travis Kelce Well, look at the defense Travis Kelce gets. He had three guys on him. Yeah. In the end zone when Hollywood Brown caught that touchdown. And this we talked about this for years. Gravity that Travis Kelce brings. He still brings it, right? And he’s and he’s still being productive. Like I saw another stat today. He is on pace to have the second greatest season from a 36-y old tight end behind only Tony Gonzalez. Most of the other I think there’s three I think there’s three seasons in the NFL where you’ve had a tight end that’s playing at 36. Travis Kelce is in on pace for the second best in that group. Everybody else is usually retired by that point. And Kelsey is and my whole point is I’m not saying he’s having a fantastic season. He’s still productive. He’s still helping this team. But the other thing that you saw in the snap counts, 70% usage, which is down from what it has been, and I understand he went out for an injury, kind of an injury for a couple of plays, and that plays into it. But guess who else saw a ton of snaps at the tight end position? Noah Gray was in for over 70% of the snaps, too. They’re playing a lot of 12 personnel, and it’s working for this team. I think that changes as things go on, but I’m hoping that that means that Kelsey will continue to see a decrease a little bit in snaps. Noah Gray will continue to see about the same type of snaps. Uh and you’re going to go to, you know, having Hollywood and Worthy and uh Rice on the field at the same time. So, we’ll see. Yeah, this is about to be the plan that never came together until came together this week. And add in Taekquin Thornton, who hasn’t done who didn’t do anything last night. didn’t have to do anything last night. That’s the key. Uh we are going to talk about that with Matt Derek who will be with us tomorrow. Then we will have the crossover with our guy Q getting ready to look at the Raiders and find out what’s going on with them. Haven’t talked to him since the the pre- AAFC preseason uh rankings which he was actually pretty dang honest about. So I’m looking forward to talking to him and we will wrap it up for you with our prep show on Friday. So do not miss the rest of this week. 1. The chiefs needs to trade for Jermaine Johnson he doesn't fall for Josh Allen's fakes, cause he's so fast he runs down Josh Allen and always sacks him,Allen cannot run away fr him.

  2. Honestly guys I was hopping we would be 4 and 2 but was expecting 3and 3 come week 7 when Rice comes back. To think we could have been 5 and 1 and really we was that close to being that. What we have a noon game? Dan will be happy. LOL Old east coast Dan now known as.

  3. That crapnis wrong as hell the damn Chiefs 3-3 and now everybody lying abiut the referees as soon as the Chiefs do anything right thats whats happens!
Meanwhile these other team oull their bull** and it how bad they got it!!!!! Its the NFL, fans, analysts, referees vs the Chiefs!

  4. Bills are not a good team chris lets be honest man… cant score, dont have any recievers, coleman is trash, and they dont have a defense.. cant wait until the BIG BAD CHIEFS roll into orchard park in 3 weeks and eliminate the BILDOS forever……LETS GO CHIEFS

  5. I saw absolutely no way they’d release Mitchell instead of Brownlee. There was no way they’d keep 8 WRs all season. It was obvious to be he was just around for insurance. Idk why they still have Mitchell, though. Would rather release him and maybe go poach some younger guy off a practice squad.

  6. When a dynasty team like the Chiefs dismantle the Detroit Lions, you better go into the following week with the Raiders at home with a big ass 40 bomb. I went to the Christmas Day game against the Raiders and it was one of the worst games I was ever a part of, so if the Chiefs fall flat against the Raiders, the critics will come out in droves

  7. I love the new playbook they are running. Getting Rice back is going to be even more open. the game against the Raiders shouldn't be close.
