The Chicago Bulls made a FLURRY of Roster Moves Yesterday 💥 Zach Collins INJURED! 🚨

Welcome to Justin of the Year Chicago Bulls. My name is Philip Charles Vanderhden the fourth and this on this episode we’re talking roster moves ladies and gentlemen and unfortunately it might not be the roster moves that some people would like but we’ll talk about it on this episode. I’m going to spoil one though. If you thought Yuki Mania was fun while it lasted, hit that like button and hit that hype button if you’re on your cell phones for me, my friends. Unfortunately, Yuki Kawamura, he’s not with us anymore uh on the team, but we’ll talk about it. But if you’re pumped about the start of the regular season, type Y for yes in the comments or type N for no in the comments. I don’t know about you, but I’m smashing the Y button. I’m so hype for the start of the regular season. But all right, guys. Yuki Mania, it’s over. It’s over for 202526 at least. you know, uh we’re not really sure what happened as far as the medical condition, but the Chicago Bulls discovered a medical condition uh after Yuki complained of pain in his uh lower leg and it forced them to wave him. And it’s sad. You know, I know that Yuki wasn’t going to get a lot of minutes uh in the regular rotation, but I was really looking forward to seeing him play for the Windy City Bulls, and it’s very unfortunate that he’s no longer on the team. Um couple of thoughts. I mean, it’s heartbreaking news. Uh, I thought Yuki was an inspiration. Um, I also thought, you know, he really represented Japan basketball. Any of the Bulls content creators out there can tell you that there’s been a big wave of Japanese uh basketball fans that have been supporting us since Yuki made the team and have uh been been, you know, really following his journey. And it’s got to be a bummer for them. Um, Yuki, don’t don’t give up now. You know, whatever is going on, I wish you the best with everything, but your journey’s not over. I don’t think it’s over. Honestly, thank you for the memories, Yuki. Um, you know, we wish you well in your recovery here on Just Another Your Chicago Bulls. And I think I could speak for Bulls Nation when I say that we really, really want you to get better. And hopefully whatever’s wrong with you, uh, you know, you we can figure it out. you can figure it out and you can come back to us next year because, you know, even if he’s not a regular man in the rotation, he’s just a positive, you know, piece of the team, like a positive part of the culture that we were building. You know, Matas loved him, the team loved him, and uh I honestly hope that he gets a second shot. I really do. But moving on here. So, the man that everyone thought was replacing Yuki was signed and then waved within three hours yesterday, and that was M. McClung, the three-time slam dunk champion. He had been with the Chicago Bulls before in 2021 during his rookie season, but they ended up letting him go and he went to the Lakers uh where he would eventually win the G-League Rookie of the Year award for the Lakers G-League affiliate. and he’s also the 2024 G- League MVP. And most recently, as uh recent as last season, he averaged for the G-League uh or for the G-League affiliate for the Orlando Magic, he uh averaged 23 points, 5.4 assists, and 3.9 rebounds a game in 32 minutes a game over 44 different games. So, honestly, like he’s a G-League baller. uh he really he he’s he kills it there. Now, he hasn’t had much of an opportunity in the league. Uh he’s only appeared in uh six regular season games across the four teams that he’s been with since 2021. So, it’s it remains to be seen if he can actually make an impact at the league level, but he is a slam dunk guru. As anyone knows, he’s been one of the highlights of All-Star weekend the last three seasons. uh you know, he’s been great on All-Star weekend. So, a lot of people were wondering why the Bulls would sign and wave him within three hours, and it’s because they retain his G-League rights if they were to do that. So, now the Bulls have the right to sign him exclusively to the Windy City Bulls if they choose to do so. And he’ll get a little more money from all of this. So, more power to his uh checkbook. And uh you know, I’m hoping that the Bulls do sign him to the Windy City Bulls cuz he’d be a lot of fun to watch. Uh especially him running up and down the court with Noah Essen, who I assume is going to get some run in the G- League, as well as Lonich. So, uh you know, best of luck to Mac as well. And you know, let’s hope to see him on the Windy City Bulls this year. Oh, just this was solely to secure his Windy City Bulls rights. So then we’ll go to the to the man who did take Yuki spot, Trenton Flowers. The 67 forward was with the uh G-League affiliate for the Los Angeles Clippers last year and he was a second year or sorry he was a rookie last year. He is a secondyear player now and the uh Clippers did not uh decide to keep him on. So he was he became an unrestricted free agent and the Bulls pounced um last season. Oh, sorry. This was the uh replacement for Yuki Kawamura as I just said earlier. And in the G- League, he averaged 17.7 points a game, five rebounds, and nearly two assists. So, he played pretty good. Uh his shooting splits while he was in the G-League, he shot 47 1.5% from the field. He shot 38 and a half% from from three-point range, and he shot 74% from the line. So, I mean, he’s he seemed to produce pretty decently uh for their Clippers G-League affiliate, and we’ll see what he’s got. I mean, players do get better. He’s only a secondyear player, 67 forward, so we’ll see what happens. But best of luck uh to you, Tristan, uh for your uh you know, development going forward. And welcome to the Bulls. That two-way contract means he’ll be at the on the end of the bench uh for us. And then also he’ll probably play a lot of games for the G-League affiliate Wendy City Bulls. So, uh, excited to see what he could do for us. And then let’s get to the to the important news, and it’s a bummer. Unfortunately, Zack Collins is injured, guys. Uh, the backup center, uh, he underwent uh, successful left wrist surgery to repair a fracture in his left wrist. And so, man, it it’s a real big bummer, guys. a real big bummer. Zack Collins had been awesome in the preseason so far. He really have been playing well. Uh shooting a high percentage, active on defense, you know, filling up the stat sheet. Uh it’s it’s unfortunate that this happened, especially because he had played well enough for people to be calling for him to be starting over Vousvich. Now, you know, there’s reason to believe that Vousvich was not giving it his full effort in the preseason. Uh he’s been he’s played in the league for a lot of years. And so perhaps it wasn’t his best game. Uh, you know, he wasn’t putting forth his best game. So with that in mind, let’s hope that Vousvich, you know, still has gas in the tank as we head into the regular season. But for now, you know, we’re not going to have Zack Collins. So we’re going to have to roll with what we got. And the Bulls are going to play a lot of small ball and they’re going to, you know, depend on Jaylen Smith. Billy had actually played some big lineups in the uh preseason this year, which was exciting. There was a uh one time that he played VH with Zack at the same time and another time he played Vu with Jaylen Smith. So I think he said he was going to be matchup dependent. But that’s going to be hard harder without you know uh Zack Collins in the loop. And I guess but what this could do is open up an opportunity for uh the rookie big man Lachlan Orich or the rookie the rookie who everyone thought was going to play forward but I think might play center and that’s Noah Essenay. So that’s really exciting. Uh I didn’t make that a slide but I just you know I just thought about on the spot. If Noah Essen is going to get more run from this we can really turn this into a positive because Noah has a ton of potential you guys. I didn’t realize he’d be a center for us when we drafted him. I thought that he projected as a forward, but he’s 6’10 and he’s long enough. The problem is that he’s not, you know, he doesn’t weigh that much, but I think that he might have what it takes because the guy’s basketball intelligent. He was around the ball in the right spots at the right time during the preseason. So, we’ll see what happens. But, I thought that he uh, you know, I thought otherwise Jaylen Smith did a really good job in the preseason. He had a couple of inconsistent games, but you know, overall, he fits what we’re trying to do very well. fast pace, uh, you know, being able to shoot from three, being able and honestly, he’s probably a better rim protector than Vu and and Zack maybe. Uh, he had a really nice rejection at the rim during the preseason. So, we’ll see what happens, but I think that uh I think Jaylen Smith is up to the task and hopefully Vu can hold down that starting spot just fine. Uh, by the way, it is a four-week injury right now. He’ll be re-evaluated in four weeks. So, get well soon, Zach. We’re all rooting for you to get back as soon as possible. I know that you’ve been a positive for us in Bulls Nation. So, can’t wait to see you back on the court. That’ll do it for this episode of Just Another of the Year Chicago Bulls. My name is Philip Charles Vanderhayen the fourth. And as always, I am seeing red more than ever, baby. Let’s go.

🎬 NEW EPISODE LIVE NOW on “Just Another Year Chicago: Bulls”
Host: Philip Charles VanDerHeyden IV (PCV IV)
The Chicago Bulls have been BUSY over the last 24 hours — and PCV IV is here to break it all down in true Chicago fashion.

In a whirlwind stretch of roster moves, the Bulls made headlines by waiving Yuki Kawamura, the energetic Japanese guard who quickly became a fan favorite for his speed and playmaking ability. Not long after, Mac McClung was signed and waived within just three hours — one of the fastest transactions in recent NBA memory. The chaos didn’t stop there, though: the Bulls turned around and signed forward Trentyn Flowers to a two-way contract, bringing in a versatile young talent to round out the roster.

Meanwhile, it wasn’t all additions and subtractions — Zach Collins is officially sidelined following wrist surgery and is expected to miss several weeks. That injury leaves a noticeable gap in Chicago’s frontcourt depth as the regular season approaches.

From surprise waivers to short-lived signings, it’s been a wild 24 hours in Bulls Nation — and PCV IV will cover everything you need to know about these moves, what they mean for the team, and what comes next as the season nears tip-off.

📺 Tune in as host Philip Charles VanDerHeyden IV gives his unfiltered, Chicago-biased reaction and expert insight on the latest Bulls developments only on Just Another Year Chicago: Bulls.
