[Music] Hey, [Music] hey, hey. [Music] Hey, [Music] hey, hey. [Music] [Music] Hey, hey, hey. [Music] Hey, [Music] [Music] hey, hey. [Music] [Music] Hey, [Music] [Music] hey, hey. [Music] [Music] Ask Is uh Mark Shley’s record safe with the terror you’re on? Oh, I don’t know. I got a long way to go, but uh we’re all happy for Shif. He’s uh you know, an unbelievable teammate and human and um it’s incredible to to watch what he does every night. Yeah. And the fact that he sets the record with just an absolutely beautiful goal, too. I mean, it’s not like it’s off two goal posts and three uh rear ends type of thing. Yeah, he usually scores nice ones. So, uh, wasn’t surprising, but heck of a shot and and great pass too from I think it was Casey. Yeah. See you pass. You’ve worked out with him in some summers. What’s impressed you most about how he’s kind of evolved into one of the Just his his dedication to the game, to the sport. Um, the way he takes care of himself is unbelievable. He’s uh, you know, one of a kind that I’ve seen. Most guys take, you know, a couple weeks off after a hockey season, he’s on the ice, you know, the next day. Um, so just dedication and and a passion for the game. I think it’s infectious for our group and uh you know we’re lucky to have them. What was it like to hear your name chanted by 14,000 plus? I think it’s a first. So yeah, it felt good. I’ll take it. Could you believe how much time you had? It looked like you uh could survey the situation. Yeah, I think I’m going to I’ve got time to pick short side here. Yeah, that was a great play by by by Goose and uh it’s kind of weird when you have that much time. Uh, so just head down, hammer it. It’s like to win four in a row here for your group and sort of find your structure. Yeah, it’s good. I think we’re improving every day. Obviously, we didn’t like our start against Dallas. So, just continuing to build uh every day and obviously we’re we’re not satisfied and you know, we have an end goal that we’re trying to reach. So, just trying to get better every day. The penalty kill this season? Yeah, it’s been great. Dino’s done a great job. Um, you know, your best penalty killer’s got to be your goalie and and he has been and uh, you know, we got lots of pressure and and uh, you know, some veteran guys out there that know what’s going on. Seems like you were playing with a lot more confidence. Yeah, trying to. You got to have confidence to play in this league and um, you know, if something doesn’t go right, you’re you’re uh, you know, trying to forget about it quick and go back out and make a good play. So, um, yeah, confidence is a huge part and uh, try and build on it. Just to go back to the penalty kill, it’s 18 in a row now. How much confidence do you guys have going out there when you are shorthanded? Yeah, I think confidence is high right now. Um, and it’s a it’s a good momentum boost for our team when we get a big kill, especially five on three today. That was a huge moment in the game. So, um, you know, hopefully we keep rolling on that. Did you know that you’re the only PK to have outscored power plays so far? No. No, we’ll take that, too. I don’t know if that’ll hold up, but um yeah, it’d be nice if it did. Is there an extra impetus maybe on turning it into a power kill or pushing it up ice when you guys can? I don’t think so. I think we’re going to try and keep uh applying pressure and and we’ll see what happens. [Music] [Music] Hey, hey, hey. [Music] Hey, [Music] [Music] I congratulate you on being the all-time leading scorer in 2.0 history. Uh how significant was it to get it out of the way early and with as nice of a goal as you scored? Yeah, unbelievable pass by Casey. He’s uh he’s good, isn’t he? He’s amazing. Um but yeah, obviously, you know, tremendously honored. You know, I still am uh trying to catch another guy. Um so that one will uh will be cool, but I’m obviously tre tremendously honored. you know, I wouldn’t be here without uh you know, the guys, you know, especially the the the big guy who I just just uh went ahead of. He uh you know, he helped me a lot in my career and you know, also gave me a a lot of tapins. So, um you know, I’m very lucky for the guys that I play with currently that I’ve played with in the past and you know, owe it all to them. How special was the chance to have that curtain call during the first broadcast timeout as well. You know, hockey doesn’t lend itself the way baseball does where you can jump out of the dugout and give a tip of the calf, but uh what kind of a moment was like that for you? Please tell me you didn’t block out. No, that was that was that was really special. You know, the the fans here are incredible. Um you know, they they give us so much extra motivation and and uh you know, we really do have amazing fans and um you know, I’m lucky to be a part of you know, such a tremendous organization, tremendous community, and you know, I’m very very uh you know, honored to be here. Can you describe the emotions you went through during that very intense message to you? Yeah, hearing hearing wheels uh Wheels’s message was uh was was you know obviously pretty emotional. Um you know he’s uh like I said before he’s uh he he he he taught me so much. He’s uh you know I wouldn’t be where I am today uh without him. So um you hearing him say that is uh is tremendous and you know excited to you know call him in the coming days. One of the points he made in the video is, you know, it’s kind of appropriate first ever draft pick by this organization. You get to occupy some really special positions with that, with this, with your extension. How often do you clock that in your day-to-day? How often do you get to reflect on that? Uh, you know, not very often. You know, usually you’re just kind of um you’re trying to get through each day and um rest and recover and focus on the next game. So, you know, obviously, uh, you know, you got to reflect on it and and you know, at the end of the day, just just very humbling, very very honored, uh, um, you know, to be in the position I am and, um, you know, just very lucky. Mark Blake said in the tribute as well that he remembers when he went back to the bench when he got the record. You were the first one there to congratulate him. What do you remember going back to the bench? Yeah, just, you know, all the smiling faces of, you know, the brothers that I play with, uh, you know, every day. I think that’s that’s the biggest thing. um you know uh you know these are the guys we spend every single day with you know you rely on uh you know each and every day. So you know I’m I’m you know I’m really lucky to be a part of this group. You know I have a lot of amazing friends and and you know lifelong friends as well. So you know seeing a lot of smiling faces getting hugs from the guys is is uh you know means means more than than the world to me. How cool is it to hear Logan Stanley getting chanted twice from the crowd tonight. Mark? Oh he’s he’s been fantastic the start of the year. you know, uh, you know, he, you know, obviously, uh, you know, there was a big goal in in a game where, you know, momentum was kind of kind of, you know, tipping towards, uh, you know, Nashville. So, um, you know, he’s he’s been playing great. Um, you know, obviously with injury to Samberg, you need guys to step up and and, uh, and he’s done that. From the big picture, Mark, you know, your your night aside, which is certainly going to be memorable, but, uh, this team really looks to be finding itself uh, uh, with its style of play. Are you guys feeling that on the ice as well? Uh, you know, I I still don’t think we’ve played a, you know, a a solid 60 minutes yet. You know, I think that’s that’s uh, you know, I think that’s very um, you know, exciting. Um, we haven’t we, you know, I think even tonight we, you know, we we came out great. um obviously got an early goal in the power play and um you know then they kind of turned the tides on us and and started to kind of buzz on us and got a couple power plays and um you know I think there’s still a lot of things to fix but that’s the you know it’s early in the season so you know there’s there’s always things to fix there’s always things to get better at and you know we have a group that wants to do that. It’s good to see Jonathan Taves getting a little more offensive group for you guys. Yeah, it’s great. You know I you know he’s uh you know obviously you know don’t play games for as long as he did. It’s going to take time, but you know, I think he’s gotten better and better every game and and you know, I know, you know, talking to him, he just wants to continue to grow, continue to get better, continue to learn, and and you know, he’s uh, you know, he’s a big part of this team, you know, on and off the ice. [Music] [Music] Hey, [Music] hey, hey. [Music] [Music] I feel [Music] hey. [Music] [Music] Hey, [Music] hey, hey. [Music] Hey, [Music] hey, hey. Hey, hey, hey. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Scott, I guess before we talk about the game, Uh, we’ll talk. Um, yeah, it’s obviously great to see you get it at home here in front of the home hometown crowd is awesome. And, you know, he’s been uh u such a consistent player and just, you know, he has such great offensive skills and instincts and um that was a great play. It’s a real highlight, real goal that he did score. So, and a great pass from KC, but nice to see him get it over and done with real quick. Mark just told us that uh you know, the search is still on for a 60-minute game, but tonight in particular, how important were the active sticks you had. It just seemed like you broke up and prevented Nashville from getting a lot of transition with the the stick work. Yeah, I really liked the first period. Second period, we’d obviously took a bunch of penalties there and the five on three. kind of lost my uh the guys that don’t kill kind of sat there for a while and but at the end of the day, you know, Hely was big. He may had to make some big stops, but at the end of the day, I think that we tried to keep a lot of it towards the outside or long shots. Um you know, when it comes to that defending, it’s they had some they had some zone time, but I didn’t think that um you know, we gave up a ton, but it is it’s all about sticks and it’s about uh you know, not allowing that second or third pass to happen. and it’s, you know, trying to cut those off when you can. Talk about the importance of stepping forward again on the penalty kill. What stood out to you about the way you guys have been on that same so far this year? Uh, it’s the big thing for me is being trying to be one step ahead of the power play. Um, anticipating where the next play is going to be. Um, the other areas for me, uh, we’ve been stingy on the entries and then we’ve done a a better job of shared clears and we do have the opportunity of getting those pucks down the ice. We’ve done a good job to kind of uh you know allow us to get a change and get fresh legs out there. You switched up the middle six in the third. Yeah, that was had a lot to do with because of what was going on with all the penalties there and there was a stretch there where like I said our top guys weren’t weren’t uh weren’t getting out in the ice and just trying to uh get their minutes back up. You talked about fresh legs there. I want to ask about the time on ice distribution for your forwards. The fourth line like all three of them were over 11 minutes. Don’t see that around the NHL very often. What’s giving you confidence in the bottom six to be able to roll four lines? Well, I do have lots of confidence in them and you know they you know obviously the DZone faceoffs, one being a righty, one being a lefty, bear taken on one side, you know, Parker on the other, but the other side they got a lot of PK time tonight too. But um you know what they they uh when you uh come off of situations where um you know they that we’ve had momentum and the other guys are finally getting to play. I got to find those guys ice and you know they’re responsible and they do the job out there and uh when they do that yeah you find comfort in them and um you you can rely on them. And Jonathan Taves had a number of opportunities tonight. Does it just seem like a matter of time for him? Yeah. Yeah. We’ve got a couple of guys. We got him J Mo uh Gabe. Um, yeah, it just it’ll come. Uh, but you know, they’re they’re all playing well. They’re all getting their chances. JT’s getting some real good looks. That one off the post, obviously. Love to see that, Gwen. But, uh, yeah, he’s not stressing on it. He’s just he’s going out and just doing what he does best. Made some great plays tonight with the puck. Adam Lowry and Dylan Samberg may be your two best penalty killers. What does it say to not have them in the lineup? What does it say about your depth and your coaching staff? Well, that was part of what we brought, you know, some of the new people that we brought in. You know, uh, Keepy, great skater, you know, has done that before. Tanner Pearson’s done that before. Nyquist has. I mean, it’s, you know, even JT is, you know, killed penalties. So, we’ve got more people that have experience at it, kind of elevating a role for both Parker and uh and and Bear. I mean, Bear’s done, you know, Morgan’s done a lot of killing, but at the end of the day, he’s kind of going out first, which he’s never had a really an opportunity to do. So, I think they’re just them guys them getting the responsibility and and recognizing it. Dean’s done a really good job of, you know, instilling sort of the detail part of it and sticking with it. Um, I love how aggressive we are as four. Uh, not just one or two, all four when one moves, they all move. And I just think that’s really helped and we have some quickness there to do that. Logan Stanley, second goal of the season already. Big fight tonight. Big goal. What have you thought of him in a more elevated role in these past couple games? Yeah. Well, obviously we knew when we lost Samberg, um, everybody had to would have to stand up and, you know, I think that he’s he’s done that and, um, you know, I think that when you get a little bit more ice time, you got to take advantage of it. And he’s trying to make it hard on us as a staff that when Sammy comes back and you have to present the opportunity and it’s theirs to go and and take and make the the most of it and he’s done that. Thanks. Thank you. [Music] [Music] Hey, hey, hey. [Music] Hey, [Music] hey, hey. [Music]
