I wanted to post this before tomorrow's game but like why is everyone blaming and hating on Zach just because he's getting more snaps than K9. He did a good job last year and it's not like K9 has been crazy this year, our run game is the weakest point of the offense. Besides it's not like he decides when to go in and not, I like Zach I always see him as a power back and K9 as the speed one. Besides K9 just gets unlucky with td's like he'll be tackled after a big play near the touchdown so they have to put Zach in because he's tired or K9 just get's a bad flag like in the cards game. Seriously can we stop with the hate on this guy.

  1. I agree that theres a lot of overblown hate on him. He’s a solid rb2, but his volume should go down. I don’t think he should be getting more touches than k9. A 65/35 split in favor of k9 wouldn’t be bad. Still a good rb2

  2. Anyone who watched the Seahawks last year knows what Charb can do. Most of our woes with running is just poor run blocking on a certain side of the line. It will hopefully improve with time or we will replace the weak spots. We were predicted at the start of the year to be one of the weaker teams in the league, every single person in this sub should be extremely happy with the way things have been going. I trust our coaching staff to do what needs to be done

  3. our offensive staff has some weird obsession with trying to run him on toss sweeps to the left, which is not and has never been his game. it’s bizarre.

he’s got a lot of attempts this year on this and I’m pretty sure it hasn’t worked once

  4. Charb is the anti walker. Not a big play threat, the talent doesn’t jump off the screen, obviously not flashy, etc.. but he does all the little things well. Doesn’t lose yards on first or second downs (which for walker is basically like taking a sack), is elite in pass pro, makes good decisions, actually is underrated as a pass catcher and is overall a very reliable back

Walker will lose yards which kills drives and is the antithesis of what makes running the ball valuable, doesn’t have great hands, makes some boneheaded plays every now and again and is poor in pass pro.

The main issue I have is these guys have such different skills that they become too predictable for the OC. Grubb was worse but kubiak does the same thing. For example; the offense is lined up in shotgun and charb is in. This screams pass as he’s an elite pass protector, yet if kubiak thinks the defense will key on that then he’ll run out of shotgun which isn’t really charbs strong suit. Once you notice this it becomes very evident that there are multiple times a game where kubiak just gets into his own head about how to use these guys.

  5. Given his terrible production this year I’m surprised this is the first time I’m hearing about it. My impression is the fans are giving him a lot of leeway.

  6. It’s fantasy brain. the only times I’ve seen Charbs hate is people bitching because they have KW on their fantasy team.

  7. Charbs is awesome. But he shouldn’t be splitting carries with Walker. Turning into way too even of a timeshare. Walker should be getting the bulk the carries.

  8. Its in our best interest to keep using both of them. Looks at what Detroit has done with their two very different RBs.

  9. Dudes a great 3rd down rb, have K9 in the first 2 snaps as long as K9 doesn’t try to bounce out and lose yards like he has been last couple games, they have a great dynamic with k9 being fast and elusive and Zach being the hard hitting power back

  10. The problem is K9 is still managing an injury, which is why Charbs is getting more touches. McDonald mentioned some changes in the running game, so hopefully that means K9 will get more touches this week, have the bye week to get healthy, then it’ll be a proper 65-35 split the rest of the way.

  11. I don’t think it’s Charbs hate as much as K9 love. Both are good backs, but I think Walker has an extra element that defenses must account for more than 26. Last week’s bomb to JSN was a perfect example: that quick PA to K9 held the D *just* long enough to allow separation. I don’t think it happens with Charbs in 🤷🏼‍♂️

  12. Right side of the line does him and Walker no favours and our lead blocking back is out on injury.

  13. I don’t think people are hating on Charb, we’re hating on Kubiak for giving an even time share when one guys a better runner.

  14. He does better with more reps as the game goes on. And for some reason, they keep trying to make K9 run inside and him outside which are not their strong suits.

  15. Is it blocking or play calls that are the biggest issue? Because he’s only averaging 2.6 Y/A. Walker is at 4.7 Y/A and only has 18 more carries, so it’s not an issue of volume messing with the averages.

  16. I just think they need to stop running him outside so much. Leave those runs to K9 and keep Zach between the tackles.

  17. He’s a solid but slightly underwhelming rb2 who was drafted a little too high and is getting more snaps than he deserves based on his terrible production this year. A large part of that is the run blocking, sundell and Bradford desperately need to be updated with guys who are at least league average. He’s great in pass pro but he’s nowhere near as good a power back as people think, he’s not good in short yardage situations.

  18. Because Woolen hasn’t been playing, this sub does a terrible job actually supporting their players through good and bad

  19. It’s on the coach . One of these guys should be getting the bulk . Seems like both of these guys play better that way

  20. I think the hate/blame comes less on Charb and more on k9 not getting the rock more. K9 is a true rumbling beast. He earns every single yard and while its understandable his body probably couldn’t handle the constant beatings he instills on others, I just don’t feel like we’ve seen him enough and charb, while dynamic and fleet footed just doesn’t provide the same bravado K9 does

    Just one man’s thoughts.

  21. If anybody is watching you’re realizing something. K9 isn’t healthy and Charbo cannot run outside the tackles for the life of him. Teams know this but Kubiak doesn’t.

I’m so tired of those tosses and stretch runs with Charbo. They always result in a loss. Stop using Charbo like he’s K9!

That being said I think the hawks are keeping k9 healthy for a potential trade so they’re using him less.

  22. I don’t play fantasy, so I haven’t been seeing any hate.

I think Charbs is great if he can get one solid first step untouched. If he gets that one step, he is effective, when he gets hit behind the line without even a single free step, he struggles.

Walker is better at making something out of nothing, but he hasn’t been getting many opportunities.

Fundamentally, I think the running woes are on the O-line.

  23. Because those people are brain rotted from fantasy football. Don’t get me wrong I love fantasy football but the pro teams and players could give less shits about your teams.

  24. 1. I believe (as someone else mentioned in the comments) they are managing a pesky foot “thing” for K9, and it wouldn’t surprise me if we see more split carries even after the bye as foot things tend to linger
    2. Run blocking and play execution hasn’t been great and I believe this is the number one issue overall
    3. Play calling – sometimes it’s hard to tell on this one because we don’t know what they are setting up, how a play was supposed to be executed, etc. However, there are times where the call itself seems so out of place (not even counting the conservative calls when we have a chance to put the game away)
    4. Outz being out – curious to see how things shift once he’s back and in rhythm once again

I am very glad they are not moving off running the ball as teams are still having to respect it, they are loading the box and it’s opening up the pass game. How much improvement in both execution and play-calling can we expect over the remainder of the season? I’m hopeful and also realize we’re limited by personnel. I do think it will only take the slightest of improvements for our RB’s to break through.
