must win. We’re starting off Steelers in Cincinnati. One of the Steelers players referred to this as the Icy Hot Bowl. Rogers versus Flaco. Oldest matchup of QBs since Bucks Brady took on Colts uh Matt Ryan. Remember he was on the Colts. You forgot about that. I can’t. Is this uh Brew, you won uh last last week’s must win. Uh so you can pass or play? I’ll play. Okay. Wonderful. All right. Uh, what’s the question? Must win. Must win for Roger. Yeah, must win. It is an absolute must-win for Aaron Rogers. Absolute. Obviously, they’re cooking. Four- one. They have a great opportunity. If they go 5-1, and you should stomp the Bengals. You got a fourame lead over the Ravens, who I expect to start coming back. You play them twice. Even if they beat you in those two games, which is going to be tough for the Ravens to do, you still would have a twoame lead. If you’re up four, if you lose this game, yeah, your next three games, Green Bay, Indie, and the Chargers, you could lose all three of those games. You lose this to Cincinnati, your Ravens League could be done. And they might not get a wild card out of this division when you look at the way the other divisions are going. And so, it’s a must-win for Aaron Rogers. And also, quickly, must win for Mike Tomlin. You just then you just called you just named name names. Andrew Barry, you got to go out there and beat him. Andrew Barry’s with the Browns. No, but I mean he got mad at him for trading Joe Flacco to the Bengals. You just want to move on to the next one. Give me the point. I don’t know. Wild. Neither one of them was thinking Tom. He’s the coach of the Steelers. Well, that’s where you’re wrong because you’re you’re partially right because this is a must prove Mike Tomlin wrong. That’s what my title is. And here’s why it is. So, he calls out he calls out Andrew Barry and he’s mad. And there’s a reason that he’s mad. It’s because Joe Flacco is 11 and 11 against the Steelers. Joe Flacco knows the Steelers defense better than any veteran quarterback they could have possibly gone to get. And now he comes in there and he’s ready to play. And what did Joe Flacco do again? He played Green Bay twice. So when he’s with the Browns, he had a 55.6 6 passer rating. And when he was with Cincy, he had a 90.9 passer rating. He can light it up. He can light it up with these receivers. He knows the Pittsburgh defense. That’s why Mike Tomlin was so upset about it. And they have the 27th ranked pass defense. It’s a must prove Mike Tomlin wrong. So since we’re giving away points for that, he was trying to avoid the back. You need to see the writing on the sheet. So, I think it is a must-win, but I think you guys more brew than coach have the reasoning on. So, first I want to just quickly give Rogers for getting double team. Just quickly, I want to give Rogers some credit because after being sacked seven times the first two games, only twice in the last four. They’re getting the ball out quick, which is what has led to his, you know, him staying healthy and the success, which is really important. But KW Mhm. Bruce Brew can’t accept the fact that the Ravens are bad. Yeah. And he still thinks about a game between the first place and second place teams in the AFC North. how bad it’ll be for the first place team because what it means for the dead last team as opposed to if the four win Steelers lose then the Bengals have three wins and the Steelers schedule is exactly what Bruce said it was and then they play the Bengals again and we have seen Joe Flacco in this division relatively recently lead a team with way less talent on offense than this one to 11 wins. So, if the Steelers lose, it’s not that you have to worry about the Ravens coming back from the dead. It’s that the Bengals will be on their heels. That’s why it’s a mustwin. Say it. Yeah, it’s true. Everything Nick said there was was was correct for the most part. Um cuz Joe Flacco is obviously a capable quarterback. Pittsburgh Series fans know that. He’s obviously old, but hey, Aaron Rogers is old, too. Uh Icy Hot Bowl is very funny. That that that is hilarious. Um this is a huge game for the Pittsburgh Steelers because they do really get to insulate themselves from having some tough losses down the road, which you know are going to happen, right? You you I don’t think you’re going to win every single game from this point on, right? So taking care of a game like this and I do think that the Bengals and Joe Flacco can get some momentum. It might take them a second or two. So don’t let them get that momentum against you. Right. That’s that’s really kind of the way I look at it. And maybe when they do have momentum, you now get to play them at home, etc., etc. But before we get any further into it, Pittsburgh Steelers fans did the most bon I mean, you guys did one of the most bonkers things ever. I made a Pittsburgh Steelers video and I said, “Please watch the whole video from the the the full length video and please subscribe. It really helps the growth of this channel.” We’ve added thousands of Steelers fans to this channel. Literally thousands. And this is a video from just a couple days ago. It got up to 45,000 views. And it’s hard to see at the bottom of the screen. You see like a little gray little thing. That’s what it normally does. And they just went like this and added an additional 453 subscribers. Pittsburgh series fans. I first off, I just got to say thank you so much. That was awesome. I think this is the most watched video I think uh of this season so far with 45,000 and it’s going to it’s going to hit 46 uh,000 for sure. Uh I just insane. And again, all I can say is please keep doing it. Please keep doing it. When you guys watch the full length of the video, when you subscribe while watching the video, it it it look it clearly works. It clearly does what we’re trying to do. And it puts us in a position where we can become more firmly rooted in this sports talk world so we can keep creating the best possible uh you know Pittsburgh Steelers content out there and really gives me the freedom and flexibility to cover any team and and to really uh just have great conversations which is ultimately what I’m trying to do. And so I originally took a a screenshot of it before and it was already dated within the blink of the eye. I was like, we’re already 10,000 more and 100 more subscribers. Like just just crazy. Just absolutely crazy. So, thank you so much. But, um, yeah, this game this game definitely matters because this is definitely a loable game because we don’t really know the Bengals like the defense isn’t that good. The O line, you know, Joe Burrow and then obviously Joe Burrow goes down and like now you have, you know, Jake Browning and now Flaco. Like it’s just like you’re like kind of who is this team? And if Joe Burrow was there, it’s like a part of you thinks that maybe it would have been the same how how it was last year, right? The defense is still letting everyone off the hook and um the O line is still not that great, but Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase, Tigers, I mean, that’s really what it get what it comes down to more than anything. And now when it’s such a wrinkle to have another older quarterback who’s who has shown his ability to be competent who has shown his ability to to play at a much higher level than than he’s shown like say with the Cleveland Browns. So you know you’re going to get you should in theory get tougher competition. So this is a game that this this isn’t like a walk in the park. Before the Bengals you were like everybody is just waiting to play the Bengals because you know your defense is going to be able to get after Jake Browning uh and your offense is going to have no issues. This clearly has potential to be a closer game. It It clearly does. And it’s completely up to the Pittsburgh Steelers to say like, “That’s cool that you went out and made a move for Joe Flacco, but goodbye and good luck.” And that is what Mike Tomlin was saying where he was just like, “You’re ridiculous. You traded a quarterback who you were thought was good enough to be your starter and now you traded it to a division rival to make everyone’s life more easy.” Like, like how dumb are you? Like that’s essentially what Mike Tomlin was getting at in a way what Manini was saying. Um, so like it’s it’s like like Mike Tomlin is is admitting and conceding Flaco can play football. So what are you doing? Why are you trying to help out the Bengals? Like what is what is wrong with you? Also, why is he not your starter at this point? Like what you guys are a disaster of a franchise? Blame yourselves, you know? Uh, and so, you know, I I I I respect Mike Tomlin kind of taking the the WWE uh style right now, but uh it really has nothing to do in isolation going up against the Cincinnati Bengals. Like, so I don’t I disagree with what Brew was saying there. That that really doesn’t make make any sense, honestly, because if anything, he’s like, “Yeah, the Bengals with Joe Flacco are a better team. It is hard. You know, it will be harder.” Um, and so, you know, that’s him saying, “I I respect Flacco. You know, Flaco can play. Flaco Ball. Um, and so this will be a this will be a sneaky interesting game, honestly. Uh, I just realized I knew it was Thursday, a Thursday night game, but then I I forgot because I’m always trying to figure out when all these games are going on. And then I went to go look at the thing and I say, “Oh, tomorrow.” I’m like, “Tomorrow? What’s tomorrow?” And I’m like, “Oh, right. This is the Thursday night game.” So, I’m even more pumped now that I know now that I realize that this game is within 24 hours or so. I’m even more excited. Uh, so yeah, this is it. It It will be interesting though to see two of these older quarterbacks though on short rest. That is definitely interesting. That That is a real thing. That is a real thing. It wasn’t like ne necessarily the hardest day for Aaron on Sunday. So, it’s not like he was like too beat up, but it’s a real thing. It’s hard enough for the young players in their prime to bounce back by Thursday. Now, you’re talking about older quarterback. That is something to be to be on the lookout for. Definitely. Uh and same thing with Flaco. So we we we might get a ugly ugly game. I you know that’s that those are some of the variables that I typically have never really accounted for and over time now I’m starting to try to factor that in a little bit more like how much traveling are you doing short rest etc etc the weather like that I typically am just like ah I don’t care about any of that but I I I have realized that that matters more and more um granted obviously there’s not too much travel um going from Pittsburgh to to Cincinnati and whatnot and it’s not like it’s so cold although I don’t know in Cincinnati uh 8:00 at night, uh midocctober. I’ll have to take a look. It’s probably not going to be freezing there, but it’s probably no longer going to be like a a warm 80some degree night either. Uh short rest. Yeah, I’m I’m interested that it it is a legitimate variable. Uh I still think the Pittsburgh Steelers obviously should win this game. No doubt. And I just think that the Steelers, you need to win every single game that you’re supposed to win. You need to win every single game that you’re supposed to win. take care of business especially because if you can solidify your spot in the playoffs uh in the standings, your seating, whatever it may be, um it allows you then to ease into the playoffs rather than fighting for your life to get into the playoffs. And that will go an incredibly long way to make sure that this defense stays intense, that Aaron Rodgers is healthy. So, you got to win these earlier games. You got to win the games. got to be able to be like, “We’re seating is solidified. We don’t need to we don’t need to get bit up by the Baltimore Ravens. Take the wins. We don’t care. We’re good. We have our seed. We have our playoff spot. We’re good. Best of luck, Baltimore.” Like, you you want to be in that position. And the Baltimore Ravens actually proved that last year. They had to fight to kind of get back in the play, you know, to to get their spot, to solidify their spot. And because of that, um, uh, Zay Flowers gets injured. Zay Flowers gets injured. And that had a devastating consequence, a devastating consequence in the playoffs. So when you take care of these wins now, you don’t have to have that. If the Ravens took care of it against the the Las Vegas Raiders and against the the Cleveland Browns, they wouldn’t have had that. And then who knows, maybe they beat the Buffalo Bills. Maybe then they beat the Chiefs. Maybe they win the Super Bowl. I mean, seriously, who knows? It’s a domino effect, a butterfly effect. So, uh, take care of these wins right now. take care of these wins right now. But those are just my thoughts. I’d absolutely love to hear yours.
