14. but this 4 and 2 a record right now and for this team feels so different from last year. Yeah, 100% I mean like you’re 4 and 2, you shut down 1 of the most high-powered, offense, is that a time where we were like, I don’t know if this defense is really that good yet. They were coming off of a 52 Point. Giving up 52 points to Detroit, all the sudden you’re sitting there and you’re going. Wow, okay. well you shut down 1 of the most high-powered offenses in football. you shut down the best running game in football to the Washington commanders. Now coming in here, I think. the bigger games that stand out to me are the ones where you go in there and you handle your business Lou. You said it this Bears team did not play great today but what they did do this Bears offense I should say did not play great today but what they did do was they had the running game going and I love the fact that Ben Johnson said well, Caleb’s off a little bit right now. We’re going to go with what’s working versus the Saints team and we’re going to win a game that we’re supposed to win. I love the fact that you beat the commanders but winning the ones you’re supposed to win. That’s how you find your way in the play. Are You the leader of a breeze Nation? I am a leader of Breeze. You are the leader of a breeze Nation. Breeze Nation, the Bears, ran the football. 36 times. I’m tingly. 36. and I’m saying, it gets me excited. And then there were 4 runs. Are at 4 runs by Caleb Williams, that weren’t designed runs. 36 rushes. 40 altogether for 222 years. Here’s the difference. Tina, I think everyone will agree with me. We just feel a heck of a lot more confident with this coaching staff And I can tell you this, Ben Johnson is going to get to the mic and he is going to tell the media today that he is not happy. 10 penalties for 92 yards. This is after 8 penalties in the previous game for 8090 yards unacceptable. Ben Johnson will not accept this. and that’s what I love about. Ben Johnson. and a coaching staff that has some young guys, like a Declan Doyle. But a number of older guys, Grizzly veterans, who have done it in this league. Let Dennis Allen for 24 seasons like Richard Smith linebackers coach, oldest, assistant coach in the NFL. at 70 years old. You don’t think this guy has seen a lot of football. These guys, when they see something they don’t like, they Make adjustments, we didn’t see that last year and even though they were 4 and 2, I felt it was a disguised 4 and 2. I remember. in a cab going to the airport. in London after the Bears wiped out, Jacksonville thinking, man. we’re going to the playoffs and then they crap the bed and lost 10 in a row and you kept waiting for the coaching staff to step up. Yeah, and change things. and it didn’t happen and it started I feel and Jim chime in, man. I thought the players Lost the confidence in the coaching staff. when in that Washington game, We know what he did. Tyreek Stevenson but I didn’t feel the penalty was strong enough and I can tell you a bunch of guys in that locker room felt the same way I did. Yeah, no, I agree the the tail can’t Wag the Dog here. Ben Johnson, Lets everybody knows who’s in charge. What’s he wants? and what he wants it to look like. again. He just came from the number 1 offense in the NFL last year and the number 1 scoring offense. All he has to say is gentlemen, we’re not there yet. and I like you said, it’s an ugly win. But here’s what they did do. when the defense got a turnover and gave them good field position, they were able to get points off the the turnover. here’s where I credit the coaching staff, loose since you brought it up. that challenge that he had on New Orleans, that third and 20 that they converted that changed the momentum in the second half. That was all just due to a good coaching decision. that Matt eberflus and his staff could never get, right? right? Uh, in the last staff and they’re they’re challenges. So I credit Ben Johnson for that. The other thing I credit is they are getting explosive runs now, I think you saw that they were going over their power side. with Darnell right? In the right side of the line with, with Jonah Jackson. guys. Are really getting good fits, they’re getting good Push they’ve gelled as an offensive line because he’s kind of been on them about that but you’re right, the penalties. continue to hurt Caleb because it’s getting them off schedule. and creating say instead of a second and 6 is becoming you know a second and 11 like specifically down in the red Zone. when he predetermined his uh post a skinny post Throw to DJ Moore and I think that’s what’s causing Caleb to struggle as well. He was not sharp today in the passing game, it was the running game and the coaching staff
