Miami Heat Receive GOOD & BAD News Before Season Opener vs. Orlando Magic
The Miami Heat officially tip off their season this Wednesday against the Orlando Magic. But there is good and bad news we need to discuss both on the injury fronts prior to the season opener on Wednesday, which I want to make sure you’re aware of this. If you’re a new subscriber and weren’t here last season, we go live for almost every Heat game. a little bit difficult during the NFL season because I have other obligations here, but we’ll try to go live as much as possible. And we’ll be live on Wednesday for the season opener. Subscribe, join us. This is our thumbnail, so when you see it, click on it, join us. We’ll be live on Wednesday this week as well as Friday against the Memphis Grizzlies. All right, let’s start with the bad news surrounding the Miami Heat. And it really just has to deal with one injury because the Heat are going to have two players out for the season opener, that being Tyler Hero, which was well expected. But the other player that will be missing the first game is rookie guard Casper Yakon. He dealt with multiple injuries in training camp in the preseason. Started with the wrist, came back, left the game with, they called it hip soreness, but then later revealed he has groin strain and he will miss the season opener. unclear on when Yakonis will ultimately be able to make his Miami Heat regular season debut, but it’s obviously not great that Miami doesn’t have him. Listen, in the one full preseason game Yak played, he looked really good, had 10 assists, had really solid chemistry and rapport with secondyear center KL Wear. And with the Heat being so thin at guard without Tyler Herro, you maybe would have looked at Yakonis’ performance and say, “Okay, maybe the young guy can get some minutes early on in the year as a 19-year-old rookie.” I project a lot of G-League action for Yakonis this season. I still think that will be the case, but you would have thought maybe he plays a little bit in the regular season with all of these injuries, but unable to be ready to go for the game on Wednesday. We’ll see when he ultimately returns for the Miami Heat. All right, so that was really the only bad news. Let’s get to the good news now, and that is the fact that Nicole Yoic and Bameabio practice over the weekend and everybody should be ready to go on Wednesday outside of Yakonis and Tyler Herro because that was a little bit of a question mark with Terzir’s hamstring strain. DaVon Mitchell, yeah, he played in the final preseason games, but he dealt with calf soreness. Yoic dealt with back soreness. We saw Bam leave the game um last week with a little bit of a concern with his knee, but he’s going to be ready to go after practicing. So, heat fully healthy outside of Yakonis and Tyler Herro. So, 13 of the 15 or or excuse me, 12 of the 14 players on the standard active roster will be ready to roll. I think this is how the Heat will approach their starting five. Now, do I know this for a fact? No. But I do feel pretty strongly that this should and will be the starting five for Miami. Da’Von Mitchell, Norman Powell, Andrew Wiggins, Nicole Yoic, and Bam at a bio. Listen, the conversation has come from between who should start next to Bam. Should it be Yovic? Should it be KL Wear? Well, the truth is, and I’ll continue to say it, without Tyler Herro, you need the shooting, you need the playmaking that Nicole Yoic provides that wear does not. So, I think Yoic is in that starting five. And there was a little bit of conversation. Should it be Da’Von or should it be Drew Smith in that starting five to keep DaVon Mitchell’s role as the Energizer off of the bench that can defend and create havoc? I believe Miami should start games with their best five, which is why I think that should be the starting five for Miami on Wednesday night. But I have to admit, it’s not really ideal that those five have never played together. They were never together on the court during the preseason due to injuries to Yovic, due to injuries to DaVon Mitchell. They obviously didn’t play together last season because Norman Powell wasn’t on the Miami Heat. So, there is a chance that Miami starts with that five and it gets the Heat off to a little bit of a slower start in the opening game because they have never played together. There’s also a world where they come out blazing and they complement each other very well. We saw how nice Yovic, Bam, Wiggins, and Powell worked together, but now you’re just adding DaVon Mitchell into that group rather than Hakez or Drew Smith where it has been in the preseason. All right, who you got for the season opener? Type Mia for the Heat. Type O RL for the Magic. It feels good to be talking real hoops now. And we got regular season action. I’m fired up. Hopefully y’all are as well. All right, I think the Heat bench will look like this for the opener. Now, things will obviously change once Hero is back and maybe even Yakonis is back because now you have a full group of 14 and we’ll see what ultimately happens. I think Miami will roll 10 deep in the opener. I got Clawware, Himemeay, Drew Smith, Larson, and Fonteo being the five, which if you’re doing math at home, he have 12 out of 14 players on standard contracts available. The only players that I could see being DNPs for Miami are Terry Rosier and Kashad Johnson. I do think Miami rules 10D in the opener, excuse me. I do think it could be brought down to nine if they don’t play Simone Fontio, which I think isn’t the craziest thing to project. Do I think he ultimately gets on the court? Yes. But I wouldn’t be shocked if he doesn’t play whatsoever. I think Miami rolls 10 deep. We know Spo in winning situations likes to shrink the rotation, but this is the season opener and a lot of new faces, right? We’re seeing Drew Smith for the first time in a long time. We’re seeing Simone Fonteo Larson really first time have an expanded role. Like I think Spo will be quick to pull the plug on some type of lineups and put some other guys in there. Like this guy’s a mastermind. I think he’s going to try to find the right pieces to make this puzzle fit perfectly early in the season without your best offensive player. More coming up here on the Orlando Magic as well. But this episode is brought to you by prize picks. You and I make decisions every single day. The right decisions on prize picks can get you paid where it’s good to be right. So simple to play. Just pick more or less on at least two player stats. And if you get your picks right, you could cash in. Price picks the only app that offers stacks, meaning you can pick the same player up to three times the same lineup. Want to pick more than a Norman Powell points, rebounds, three-pointers? Well, now you can all in the same lineup only on prize picks. I have an entry in for the opening night. I got more than Steph Curry. Take advantage of the max discount, half a point. I’m pairing that up with Yic. More than six and a half rebounds and assists. I got to be honest, I love that line, that stat projection there. I’m also going to go less than on Paulo Bancerero, 25 and a half points. That is my three player entry for the Heat’s opening game. Download the prize fix app today and use code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That’s code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Prize picks. It’s good to be right. The Orlando Magic also dealing with some injuries. Two key players for them as well. Everybody else is healthy. Jaylen Suggs with a knee injury as well as Mo Vagner with a knee injury. Now, if I take you back just a year, and you might not remember this, Mo Vagner tore his ACL, I think it was in January. So, he will not be ready to play. He He is going to be out. Jaylen Suggs also dealt with a major knee injury and has not played in the preseason yet. Apparently, the target date for Jaylen Suggs was always going to be the season opener on October 22nd against the Heat. But with him not playing any NBA action, yeah, he’s returned to practice, done some threeon-ree, a little bit of five on five. I was reading up about it. It feels that Jaylen Suggs is likely going to miss the season opener for the Orlando Magic. Now, could that be wrong? Yeah, maybe they ultimately say, “Yeah, he’ll go out there, play maybe 10, 12 minutes, nothing serious.” But I do imagine they’re going to air on the side of caution with Jaylen Suggs considering he hasn’t played really at all. And now you’re going to throw him out there for the first time game action in the season opener. I think a like a random Wednesday in November against the Hornets probably makes a little bit more sense there rather than the season opener. And if that’s the case, here is what the Orlando Magic starting five will look like. They signed Tai Jones this off seasonason, so he fills that void with Suggs potentially out. The newly acquired Desmond Bane in that blockbuster trade with the Grizzlies. And then you’ve got familiar faces in the front court of France Vagner, Paulo Bancerero, and Wendell Carter Jr. Their bench will likely look like this if they roll 10 deep. The rookie out of Michigan State, their first round pick, Jace Richardson. Anthony Black, former top 10 pick out of Arkansas, their first round pick a couple years ago, Tristan Dilva, John Jonathan Isaac and Goa Badce. So, I will say this, if you’re the Miami Heat, you do have a clear advantage in terms of depth in this game. Do the Magic have the better starting lineup? Absolutely. But when you look at the depth in this game, I would take the Heat bench over the Magic bench. I really like Jace Richardson, but Dilva and Anthony Black are still kind of not really the most productive guys. Heat’s bench has Hz, who has been better than Black and Dilva in his career despite a down season a year ago. And you obviously still have KL Wear coming off that bench for Miami. So, the Heat do have better subs coming in this game, but the starting lineup certainly favors towards the Orlando Magic. and in the season opener 7 pm Eastern time tip which really means about 712 but either way in a crazy spread and maybe I’m just off on this overunders 214 and a half take the under and the Magic are favored by eight and a half that feels crazy to me like are the Magic better than the Heat? Absolutely. When I go through my Eastern Conference tiers, I have the Magic Knicks and Cavs in the third tier or in the f top tier I should say. And in the middle tier, I kind of have Miami, Atlanta, and Detroit. And then I have the injured tier, which is like Indiana, Milwaukee, Boston, Philly as that third tier. Heat, I think, are in the middle tier with um Atlanta and Detroit. So, I think Orlando is better. And I get it’s in Orlando, but eight and a half points, I get it. free throws at the end could make that a little bit of a different story. But I I think that’s disrespectful to Miami. Like they got some dudes, man. And I know we’re missing Hero. I know we’re missing Hero. I just feel like eight and a half points is not going to happen. The Magic don’t blow anybody out. I think this is going to be a close game. Will I pick the Heat to win? I don’t know. I’ll give you my full prediction on a video tomorrow and previewing the opening game. I just have a hard time believing it’s going to be an A and a half point game. Like the Magic aren’t going to score enough points to win by that much. Seriously, I’m fired up for the opener if you can’t tell. I, you know, listen, uh I can’t do it in the football world anymore. I can’t do it. Um so I got to have some sort of happiness. My Mets even suck this year. So I like I’m relying on the Heat to provide my sports happiness and that’s probably a scary sight to be in as well. But it’s going to be exciting season. And it really is because either it goes really really poor and we’re drafting AJ Devan or we shock the world and make the playoffs. So, it’s a win-win for us this season. I’m telling you. And if you want more on the Miami E, go follow me over on Twitter. Nick Rolloff is my handle. I’ll see you tomorrow with a full opening night preview prediction, what to watch for. So, be on the lookout for that.

Well they did kind of blow us out opener last year. But I don’t anticipate a blow out. Especially with the amount of defenders heat have.
Bam’s starting unit is going to stink. Ware leading the 2nd unit will be their only chance to get leads on teams.
Bam + Niko = mid
Bam + Ware = mid
Ware + Niko = special
With healthy Miami heat..I got them winning the nba finals
