Albert Pujols had emerged as a leading candidate for the Angels’ managerial job, but talks fell apart over contract terms, sources tell The Athletic.

Torii Hunter and Kurt Suzuki remain in the mix.

  1. Blum cited money and years being the main issue, Arte if you’re strapped for cash then sell the team!

  2. I didn’t want Pujols honestly, but it’s terrible that money is the issue. If Arte just decided that Pujols just wasn’t the best option, that’s one thing, but this shows nothing will change.

  3. I am going to go ahead and assume that Pujols laughed at Arte, suggesting that his $1M post-playing contract would cover a managerial role.

  4. What a SHIT SHOW this Angels franchise has turned into under Arte’s rule. Kind of mirrors the country right now!

  5. Lowkey was kinda rooting for him, but also now show’s the deep trouble our front office is in which is not giving the coach the proper freedom to hire and coach the way they want
