This is EXTREMELY good news for St. Louis…
This is extremely good news for the St. Louis Blues as we get multiple updates on the Blues, including a huge injury update on a fan favorite. We get an update on a prospect absolutely tearing apart a league and this one key detail on a Blues Ford has fans buzzing to the point of him looking like a future star. Der, we have so much to break down in this episode. You’re not going to want to miss any of that. But before we get into it, I just want to give a huge shout out to everyone watching and helping us reach our goal of 4,500 subscribers. We’re trying to reach our goal of 5,000. And in return, we’ll give you daily updates from all around the team. But with that, Darius, let’s dive straight into this. Before we get into the prospect and this one detail on a Ford, let’s go into the injury report that we did get today saying Sunquist is probable and a more realistic return this Thursday versus Utah. He wants to get a couple more hard practices in, but overall, what is your thoughts on Sunquist coming back after we seen him hurt just before the season opener? Well, the timing is very interesting right now because as we all know, Jim Montgomery has put all the lines in a blender and we don’t even know what’s going to happen ahead of their next game. I would I would imagine that they’re going to go with the same lines that we just saw. And obviously Sunquist looks like he’s going to be making a return at some point, which is good news on that side of things. Very good news. You never want to see a player injured, especially the way it happened and the timing of it. So, he’s going to be coming up. I wonder how he factors into the lineup as well. Is it going to be on the fourth line? Is he even going to be playing center at this point in time? That’ll be interesting to keep an eye on. And again, the lines are completely completely in the blender right now. And what we see right now might not be what we see next week, but it worked the last game. And I wonder if Montgomery goes back to the same ones for next game with maybe some minor tweaks and stuff here and there because we know we touched on it, you know, the other day on the channel. Holloway on that top line with, you know, Thomas hasn’t necessarily worked. But, you know, we’ll see what the next couple days bring. But, uh, very interesting for sure. Nice to see that he’s coming back. And obviously, you want to get up to speed. You want to get in those, uh, hard practices. You want to get, you know, uh, again, just acclimated to everything again. So nice to see that. Don’t think they’re going to rush him in, but he’ll be ready to go. And I just wonder where he factors into the lineup because he’s a big physical piece of this team. And I think that’s the big thing is Blizz, but also a crucial part to the Blues. We see him practicing right now playing with Buch’s dad and the Aussie himself in Nathan Walker. Listen, if you’re from Australia watching this, let us know down in the comments cuz that’s awesome as well. But the biggest thing right now is getting Sunquist and you get a more physical force added to this fourth bearing. We know Texier is playing there right now, but I think getting him in with Sunquist is awesome. Maybe Texier stays in, Joseph goes out. It’s going to be interesting how this works. It seems like he’s not going to go into tomorrow’s game or tonight’s game, depending when you’re watching. But Thursday’s game versus Utah, it’s awesome to see that Monty is getting all his players back into this lineup, getting them healthy and everything like that. I mean, Darius, looking at the team alone, would you shake up too much or do you think this is going to be an easy fix of just, hey, Texas A, you’re going to sit, we’re going to bring in a guy like Sunquist. You would think that that’s what’s going to happen, right? That makes the most sense, I think, on paper. And Tex to me is probably the odd man out. If you’re looking at the entire bottom six, Walker has a spot on my team. And again, I’m not the coach, but if I was making the lines like you just asked, then yes, he has a spot on my team. Bugstad, of course, I mean, you signed him for a reason. Uh, and then Joseph has looked pretty good this season. You know, we were talking about him in the offseason. Maybe, you know, he’s expendable in terms of a trade and freeing up that cap space, but he has looked pretty good. So, to me, yes, Texier is the odd man out. Sunquist would come in in his spot. And again, it’s interesting to see where that would, you know, work out where exactly he’s going to fit in the lineup. Is it just going to be, you know, his spot? They would swap him out one to one. We don’t know. And we don’t know if things are going to change again after the next game because again, the lines are in the blender. They’re trying a bunch of different things. And if it sticks next game, you have a couple lines like we were talking about, uh, you know, besides line one that are working and they win the game, maybe they still stick with this and just figure it out on the fly. So that’ll be interesting to see. But yeah, I think, you know, let us know how you think and how you feel in the comments about it. But I think that Texier is probably the odd man out in this scenario, too. And I think that’s the best case cuz I mean, looking at the team, we know a lot of the lines are working. The top line has struggled a bit, but I think the biggest thing is getting them in, getting fresh legs in, coming off an injury is huge. But talking about this forward group and talking about the top line in particular, Jake Neighbors has been a name that fans are super aware of. We know how good Jake Neighbors is. A lot of other fan bases don’t give him the credit, but we got this coming from the St. Louis Blues that Jake Neighbors is the third Blues player in franchise history or in the past decade, sorry, to score 100 points before the age of 24. Now, Jake Neighbors has taken over. We’ve seen him join the league. We’re seeing the numbers he’s been putting up season after season coming in this year with five points in five games coming off a 22 goal season just last year. Darius, what is your thoughts on Jake Neighbor? Still very young, someone that’s going to continue developing. Could you see him being the next star player of this team next to Kyu, Robert Thomas, and everyone else in between? I don’t know about star player. You have your stars on the team, you have your heavy lifters, and of course, some of those guys are going to start to get older. Then you have some younger players that are coming up through the system as well like Stenberg we’ve been covering and obviously Justin Carbono which looks like is going to be a very exciting player in the future. But you know for the time being Jake Neighbors looks like he’s really coming into his own. He’s still really really young in this league. Like you see a lot of guys really only hit their stride around 25 26 year old uh 26 years old especially goalenders but even for forward sometimes it takes them a little while to get going. So he’s done that and he started off the season so strong this year. here. It looks like he’s going to have a monster season, especially for what people were expecting. I don’t think many people, you know, everyone was expecting him to take a, you know, step forward, but not as significant as it has been so far to start this season. So, he’s been really good scoring at an incredible clip. Like, I don’t know if he’s going to be able to keep this up. Of course, he’s getting more ice time, right? But he’s playing really well. He’s earned that. So, keep that in mind as well, too. I wonder if they mess around with him special teams over the course of the season as well. He’s been awesome. I don’t know if I’m ready to put him in superstar status yet, but if he continues to play this way, then maybe we might have to. But he’s been awesome and he’s one of those guys you just need in the lineup. When you’re looking across the league, every team has their guys that they’re relying upon for goal scoring, but then every team needs like a young guy that chips in like this on their team if you’re going to find success and the Blues definitely have maybe a few honestly on their team. And I think the big thing is too seeing them progress even more. We’re going to see a 30 goal season out of them probably this season. We could see a career high of 50 points as well. The progression of Jake Neighbors is awesome to see. And once again, staying on this, what is your guys thoughts on Jake Neighbors? What do you think his peak is? Is this a 40 goal score, 50 goal score? Will he take over as a leading scoreer on the Blues? Let us know. But we’re going to stay with the four. It’s endless. And would it be a video on the Blues without speaking on Justin Carbano? Justin Carbano with the loose puck. You know he’s going to happen. 10th goal in eight games for Carbo. Darius, looking at this kid, he has been absolutely tearing up the IQ. You look at the stats from his team, a lot of guys above him playing 10 to 12 games. We can see Carbono with 15 points, eight goals or 11 goals, four assists. What is your thoughts on Justin Carbano absolutely tearing apart the queue? And do you think this is going to be maybe a 60 or even 70 goal season for the kid? Easily. Easily. He might miss some time for the World Junior. So, to keep that in mind as well because, you know, he’s eligible. I would imagine that they’re going to want him. Uh team Canada that is. So I mean it makes a lot of sense. So he’s going to miss some time for that. Let’s take that into account as well. But easily I think he’s going to score 50 goals probably. He’s going to put up an absurd amount of points. If you look at his point totals from last year, he’s already going to, you know, he’s on pace to smash that. He’s way too good for this league. But I’m looking for him to continue his development in other ways and play in these big moments. So I’m really looking forward to, you know, he’s going to put up a lot of points. That’s going to be fun to watch. But I’m looking forward to the playoffs. He’s playing on a really, really good team in the QMJHL. So, what are they able to do in the playoffs? Not only that, the World Juniors as well. You know, does he show out in that tournament? Because we’ve seen a lot of superstar players go to that tournament and kind of fizzle out and not do anything. So, what does he do in that tournament? That’ll be something to watch. And the defensive side of the puck, is he take care taking care of things on that side as well. So, that’ll be a lot of fun to watch. That’s what I’m looking for. He’s going to smash everyone in terms of points, right? is going to catch everyone as well with, you know, much less games played, which is very fun and exciting. But we’ve talked about in the summer, we talked about it in training camp, we’re talking about it now. This guy’s too good for that league. There should be a new rule where he’s able to go to the AHL at this point or something. I don’t care about the age rule, but just something that allows this player specifically to go to the AHL because he’s just too good, right? So, at least offensively. So, we’ll see what happens the rest of the way. And we know that he’ll be playing pro hockey next year. So, still some things to to figure out there. go win a championship. But man, he’s ripping it up and it’s fun to see. I mean, Blues fans, what is your thoughts on everything? What is your thoughts on Sunquist coming back looking at a return Thursday versus Utah? What is your thoughts on Jake Neighbors? What do you think his peak is? And what is your thoughts on Justin Carbano, the bull in the China shop? Will he continue dominating the queue to the point where he’s going to crack the NHL next year? Let us know down in the comments. And speaking on comments, let’s just go straight into come to the day coming through with just imagine when Robert Thomas was gets going for the Blues. You know, he’s going to be those numbers again just to play in the Olympics. And I think the biggest thing with Robert Thomas is he wants to make this Olympic team. He’s going to take over at some point soon. This could happen Tuesday’s game, Thursday game, but it’s only a matter of time. We don’t need to be worried about Robert Thomas. But let your us know your thoughts down in the comments. So, while you’re down there, leave a like, subscribe, share this with your friends. We’ll be back another episode. So keep ride for that.

Whew – I had to wait until the very end to get the "Bull in a China Shop" reference. I was getting worried!
The inertia is building and the rumble is getting louder.

I would think texier is the guy that comes out he has had several games to show something, and he hasn't looked bad, but he hasn't made a difference one way are another IMO
