🚨New Orleans Saints Get A DOUBLE DOSE OF Bad News!

[Music] Got a double dose of bad news here on Saints Now by Chat Sports. This is my least favorite part of the job, bringing y’all the bad information. Two players out for the season. Center Eric McCoy with a torn bicep and running back Kendre Miller with a torn ACL. We’re going to break it down. We’re gonna have the conversation, talk about the options and the replacements and everything you need to know. But first things I’m going to say, number one overall pick, here we come. This is heartbreaking news. It’s not fun to talk about, but it is part of the news and storylines going on around the black and gold. So, we’re going to break it on down. And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why you subscribe to the channel. Doesn’t matter if it’s news, doesn’t matter if it’s rumors, doesn’t matter if it’s updates, good, bad, or ugly. We’re here to break it on down. So, join the over 51,000 Saints fans who trust us to give them daily content and lock us in for a 100% free. Starting off with Eric McCoy. His injury is very, very heartbreaking because he is one of the few bright spots of the Saints offense year in and year out. He’s also a player who’s playing very good football up leading up to his injury. He’s going to miss the remainder of the season due to a torn bicep. That information coming out from Ian Rapaort just a couple of hours ago. This is the second year in a row where he’s going to be missing significant time due to injury. Last year, I believe it was seven games total played due to some injury issues uh in the 2024 campaign. Ben, he is expected to be getting surgery this week. So, he is trying to get back on the field. His season’s over. It’s not going to return. You know, maybe this is one of those conversations. Oh, if we have a deep playoff run, we’re not. His season’s done. And it’s heartbreaking. I mean, he he was playing really good football and I I’m gonna show you guys his PFF grades. I know that the PFF is not the gospel, but it’s a nice benchmark, especially for linemen. Um, number one pass blocking center in all of football. You’re going to miss that. Your quarterback’s going to miss that. Your offense is going to miss that as a whole. Run blocking, he’s doing all right overall. He’s doing pretty solid. No sacks allowed. He’s been really productive in this offensive line. Thank god you traded for Luke Forner at the preeason because now you at least you have somebody who’s serviceable on the depth chart who can fill in for Eric McCoy. So Luke Forner will slide in to be the center at the start or the starting center I should say. Torsilly Simpkin still going to be at the guard position. He did get some run in the preseason as a center after uh an injury settled in for Will Clap earlier on in the preseason. So, I do think when it comes to the Saints offense, expect Luke Forner to go in if he gets hurt, god forbid. Dorsy Simpkins, I think, is next up in line. Um, yeah, that stinks. Offensive line. The interior has been bad and it just got worse. We’re going to talk more about this injury update and uh the injury news around Kendra Miller. Guys, this is a crappy day. It’s a crappy situation and it’s a crappy season to be a Saints fan. But I can tell you right now that all of that doesn’t have the same sting now that I have a Tushy bedet. And I know that New Orleans is in the midst of a rebuild, but it’s never too early to plan for super bowel season. Installing a Tushy Bedet makes your bathroom visit so much more comfortable for your guests and your pipes. The Tushy is the everyday luxury bedet that instantly transforms your bathroom habits and bottom health for night or for life. Fun fact, 99% of people who wash with a Tushy Wave feel cleaner and fresher after going to the bathroom. And I’m not somebody who has a ton of expertise as a plumber or an electrician. It’s so so simple to install and use. I like to say even a Falcons fan could do it. You just stop, you drop, you plop, and then you rinse dry with or rinse clean, I should say, with a tushy. Every Hello Tushy comes with a 30-day hassle-free return and a 12month warranty. And remember, A-Hole is only a dirty word if you wipe for a limited time. time. This is also a really heartbreaking one to discuss because it feels like it’s death taxes season ending injuries for number five. Now, he has had a really bad problem throughout his career with injuries keeping him off the field. And going into this season, he said this was the healthiest he had been. And I thought that he was been really, really nice as Alvin Chimera’s backup in the RB2 for New Orleans. Torn ACL is going to keep him out uh and off the field for the rest of the year. And look, the stats are not anything crazy, but he is a player that every single time had the football had an opportunity to make a big play. And I know that you’re not gonna sit here and say, “Oh my god, less than 200 yards gonna miss it so much.” KJ Miller has been really good. He’s been a dog. He’s been somebody that is definitely going to be missed. And for the New Orleans Saints offense, this is a situation that is very, very thin in terms of explosive playmakers at this point. And you just lost one of your most explosive playmakers. And I know that he hasn’t ripped off a bunch of deep runs. And I know that he hasn’t ripped off a ton of touchdowns, but Alvin Mcomero doesn’t have the same step he used to. Still a good running back, not the same step, though. And Al and Kendrick Miller now being out is yet another brutal blow for this young running back. He’s somebody that I’ve been impressed with every single time he’s on the field. But the best ability is availability. And unfortunately, this is one of those situations where the Kendry Miller experiment might be coming to an end. And it’s heartbreaking to say that because I really like this player. I think he has all of the qualities you want in a running back. He’s somebody I trust to lead the Saints offensive rushing attack outside of the injuries. But the injuries are a huge thing. And maybe it’s freak accidents. Maybe he’s an injury prone player. I don’t know. But it sucks, man. It’s a brutal blow for this player. That being said, we got to look ahead because football still will be played whether Kendra Miller and Eric McCoy are around. This is a huge opportunity for rookie Devin Neil. An ultra productive player from the Kansas Jay-Hawks, leads them all time in rushing yards, back-to-back seasons with double digit touchdowns. He is somebody who is now going to have a really, really nice opportunity ahead of him. I hope to see him take advantage of that. He’s really solid when it comes to blocking as well. He had a really impressive recovery against the Bears. Whenever the blitz came through, he stepped in, laid the block so Spencer Rattler could deliver the pass. All in all, I’m excited to see what happens with Devin Neil, but I hate that it had to come at the expense of a Kendra Miller injury. And look, this is all in all, like for what it’s worth, just the whole roster entirely, it’s actually still one of the more healthy teams in the NFL. Believe it or not, the Saints are still fairly healthy. Um, but losing these players sucks. It’s a big loss and it’s one that no matter what, this offense is going to suffer. Like I said earlier, Spencer Rattler is going to now suffer from this because he is down his top offensive lineman and he is down a weapon and a tool and a crutch in Kendra Miller. The offense as a whole has had a hard time finishing drives. Kendra Miller is somebody who I thought was severely underutilized in the red zone and somebody who I thought could be a really nice weapon in the red zone. This is tough. I hate that we’re talking about this. Here we are. We knew it was going to be a bad season. We knew it was going to be a rough one and it just got a little bit harder. And maybe we don’t have the first overall pick. Maybe we don’t. Like for for real, maybe that’s something that doesn’t happen. Um, you do have to play the Dolphins. You do have to play the Jets. Those are two teams that are going to be at the bottom of the draft or at the very top of the draft. It’s not going to be pretty. This is not going to be a fun rest of the season. I hate it here.
