Yeah, but we definitely we definitely we’re definitely trending in the right direction. We just got to keep growing and keep playing as a unit. Did Aaron uh give you any crap for the tackle scene around the world at this point or what can you say? Yeah, we we’re still joking about it. Um yeah, he was a little mad, but sorry. You know, it’s football. It gets intense. Um but you know, it’s still no love loss. It’s always it’s just the energy that he brings and that I bring. He told me don’t lose the fire and I told him the same. So, you know, we shall see on Sunday after he throws another touchdown, I might tackle him again. What What does it do for an offense if you have a guy of Aaron Rogers caliber leading you guys and being that vocal kind of commanding presence? With a young team like us, I feel like it gives us a boost of confidence. Um, just knowing you got eight back there and he he’s calling the shots, you know, he’s making sure everybody’s right. Um, you know, he’s just he’s just a shot caller. Um, and it’s a big help for me definitely knowing that he’s back there. Um, because I know he’s going to control what needs to be controlled on the field, um, when it needs to be done. Um, so, you know, it just gives me, well, I can say for me it gives me confidence to go out there and play um, for him, you know, basically. On that note, how much do you embrace uh, protecting him specifically this week? He’s going to be a big story line facing the Packers much like this, man. Yeah, we got to um, we just got to continue to keep them upright. Um, I feel like the O line did their job doing that last week. Um, like I said, we just got to continue to trend in the right direction. You know, just keep them upright and keep them healthy. Ro, what’s leading to that trend in the right direction? I would probably just say us starting to gel. Um, being able to go against different defenses and not just bashing heads with our defense day in and day out. um being able to see different schemes and different looks and knowing what to expect and what not to expect and when when defenses come out versus us because you can you can kind of anticipate what defense want to do versus us because everybody know we want to run the ball first. Um, so you know, people people try and scheme around that and you know, we just I feel like us playing as a offense against everybody else, you know, we’re close to halfway down. I think was this week seven we’re going into. Game seven. Hey, yeah, whatever it is. Yeah, we’re we’re getting halfway there. So, you know, I feel like we’re starting to gel more and connect more as offense. No coincidence. The more you guys are playing together, the better off you guys. Yeah, I think you guys missed many. Yeah, but that that’s anybody. Um, you know, we had injuries that hold that held a couple players out. We have we had um what else? You know, it’s just those the little things that happen um that everybody’s not on the field at the same time, you know. Um I haven’t we haven’t had many injuries um on the offensive side of the ball. So, you know, that’s good. and for all 11 of us to be on the field at the same time and you know getting that repetition is good for us. How much have you guys dove into the Packers tape and what kind of challenges their defensive front especially with a guy like Michael Parks this year? Um we haven’t we haven’t broken down any film yet on them. I did watch the game yesterday. Um but that’s pretty much all I I got on so far. Does Aaron does he move better than maybe thought? Aaron has been moving a lot better these past couple of weeks. I can say that. Um, if you go back and just watch the film, you can see you can see him back there, you know, moving around from left to right. Just I don’t know. I thought he was 25 again. So, you looking for the new helmet or tried it on yet or anything? I haven’t I really don’t know. We shall see. They’re pretty sweet. Matte finish. Yeah, pretty sweet. I’m used to all black, so this is kind of different. But, you know, this don’t change the trajectory of the game. So, we still got to go out and, you know, I got that Mike T in me, so I’m always just straight to the point. But, you like those jerseys, bro? I I haven’t seen the jerseys yet. They said they’re pretty unique. So, y’all see you said you’re pretty Mike T. What’s it What’s your favorite Mike T saying? Cut your eyelids off. That’s my favorite one. That’s the first thing he told me when I stepped foot in the filler facility. It stuck with me. Roger, when you were watching the game yesterday, what stood out about Parsons to your three sacks, he had a big game against the crowd. He’s just relentless. Um, he’s a relentless player. He doesn’t stop like most people in the league. Um, and, you know, it it sets him apart because he has a motor about him. He has a deep bag of tools. Um, he has the finesse to his game. You know, uh, def the Packers do a good job of moving them around, you know, from the inside to the outside to lining up at linebackers. So, you know, it’s a lot. We got a lot of film to break down. What do you feel like you took away from your this week? Uh, feel like it’s just constantly keep getting better every game. Um, that’s obviously the goal every single day in practice trying to find something to work on and I feel like the games just translate. So, just going to continue to keep working that way. What were you working on last week? What do you feel like? Um, no. Just pass throw, run blocking, finishing blocks. Um, just everything. Just the harder than it looks. Really? I kind of like the play. It’s kind of fun. Is it difficult to execute? Uh, I wouldn’t say so. No, not really. Obviously had the penalty. Moved a little early. Um, I did too, but we’re fortunate. I don’t think so. Do you think that’s something you guys have at your disposal now? That’s an option. Uh yeah, you just can’t have the penalty on the play, but um you got to ask coach out there about that. Aaron Aaron’s movement especially in the pocket round. Is that I say surprising, but I mean it’s helpful. It’s helpful. He’s not standing in the same place uh for a long period of time. He’s helping us out. Obviously, we didn’t give him many sacks, but he played a big factor in that too. getting the ball out early and moving around with it. So, it’s cool. It’s a big win for him against the Packers. Has he said anything to you guys yet or is that Do you embrace that challenge as a line? You know, this one might mean a little more to the old QB. He hasn’t said anything yet. We might um we’ll see, but obviously big game just for us in general coming off a loss Sunday night football. So, excited for the challenge. What type of challenge does Parsons and Gary present to you guys? um you put forehands on somebody. Someone’s got to have a one-on-one. So, just making sure we’re winning those matchups and uh watched the game last night versus the Cardinals. Um he’s a really good is a game recorder, so we’re going to treat him such going to the game plan knowing that um we got a block right now. What does having Rogers playing like he is four time MVP, what does that kind of do for you guys, you know, in an offense conference wise and all that? I mean, helps out. Um, obviously, um, the big key going into these games is run the ball and I feel like we’ve been doing a good job at that. Uh, but then when you have a quarterback that can step back and throw the ball around the field, it’s helpful. You ever tackled your quarterback in celebration before? I’ve not funny. I want to put him on the glass, but the way that Rodri described it on the field versus what we seen on the video was so you’re making fun of it. So, he saw it very differently in the moment. Yeah, in the moment. Obviously, emotions are high. Um, what did how did he describe it? I’ll let him tell you guys that, but it just it wasn’t um what was portrayed in the video. Did Did Mike D or Pat or Aaron himself issue any more please jump on my back directives for the rest of the season? Um, he said he might do it again. He might. He might. I mean, Roger is going over there and celebrating with Aaron. Yeah. We We’ll see what happens. Pretty good tackle though, wasn’t it? It was. was he took him to the ground. Might have been a hip drop. He might call for a hip drop tackle there. I don’t know. That’s Tim though, right? Happy. That’s man. Can’t blame the guy. Uh he’s like I said, it’s high emotions um in the heat of the moment. Made a play and Muth made a play and scored a touchdown and what can you say? Can’t get mad at the guy. It’s crazy to say it’s only been six Well, if you go back to last year, seven games we played together, I guess as we read it. So, it’s still only like half a season. You think about it, isn’t much time for you guys to drop. Do you feel more and more every game goes by that you’re you feel more as a unit and more cohesive every day? Yeah, I feel so. I mean, just every single day we’re finding something to work on, whether that’s running the ball and I feel like we’ve been doing a good job with that. Obviously, Darnell, all the tight ends and running backs, receivers, everyone’s big part of that. And I feel like every single game you see the numbers keep going up. So, as long as we go in that direction, how pumped were guys for him? the game. I mean, like Gary said, he hasn’t been getting the snaps, he hasn’t been getting touches, and he hasn’t complained. Great breakthrough. Yeah, that’s the cool part about Muth is that he’s been steady through it all. He hasn’t walked around here with a bad attitude. He’s been all team, as long as we’re winning, um, he’s high spirits. It’s It’s good to see that he was able to go out there and score some touchdowns, run around. Obviously, seen that celebration after that first touchdown. He was hyped and so were we. So, good for him. You like the throwback jerseys you guys are wearing? Uh, I honestly don’t remember what they look like, but um I like the helmets. I don’t know. I figure out what they look like. I really don’t remember. When you when the running back run behind you and me averages jump off the charts, what are you guys doing as a duo to set up the right side for Jaylen? No. Um, I feel like as a whole old line, I mean it the backside is just as important as the front side as well. So whether we’re running to the right or the left, I feel like um as an O line we’re doing good. So, um, shout out to Mason, man. Without him, you know, he’d be I wouldn’t be on the same page. So, uh, shout out to that guy. How have you two grown in your chemistry? Was like, you know, old line like, you know, stepping at the same time, understanding, all that time. How have you guys grown in your chemistry and time? I just feel like the communication between me and him is just at an elite level. I feel like u whether that’s him talking to me or me talking to him before after the game texting throughout the week talking in meetings all that type of stuff um we don’t just show up on Sunday and just hope that it it works out we make sure it does seems like you guys talked about being more athletic and the way that you guys can block and run the ball feel like Arthur Smith has unlocked that you guys just the way that you guys have moved to different spots yeah I mean when you have the ability to to take the edge off a defense, especially when we got the tight ends that we do have. Um, that plays a really big key. So, just continuing to to execute whatever they the play they call and um, yeah, that’s all we can do. What’s the temperature right now? You guys frustrated, surprised, pissed off. I think it’s NFL. Um, you know, sometimes it happens. Um, even though you don’t want it to um, and sometimes it’s ugly, but at the end of the day, it’s the NFL. They get paid to play. The coaches get paid to coach. Um, and you know, we just got to make the plays. We got to go out there. We got to execute better. Um try not to let those things happen. You said you’re putting it in the past, but what do you want to learn from it going forward? Uh just, you know, when the moment’s there, make the play, make whatever it is, opportunity. Um us as a whole, just um being better just from the small details, from whatever it may be coverage wise, runfield wise, whatever it may be, just getting better. When you talk about everybody honing in, how difficult is that whenever there’s a lot of substitutions on the second and third levels when you know whether it’s Peyton next to you or Cole next to you or whether it’s a different safety coming down? How how is it harder to get into a rhythm when those pieces are constantly changing? I don’t think it should be as much as you know people may think it is. Um I feel for me it’s just me getting a play call out of me going to play football. Um just trying to do my job at a high level whatever it is. Um, I think when you got pieces coming in and out, I think those pieces cannot get in the rhythm. Um, and you know, it’s tough like you know, you go in for two plays, you come out for four plays, whatever, it’s hard to get in the rhythm like that. So, I think that could be a sense of it, but at the end of the day, you know, we’ve been playing the game a long time. We got to be ready to go. Are you confident that the structure sound and the method of communicating is sound? Yeah, I think communication is good. I think um it’s stuff that we can do better. I think it’s different stuff that we could do better. Um, but at the end of the day, you know, we going to roll out there with what we got. Um, and I got the utmost confidence in us to go out there and make plays. Do you think opposition offenses know what you guys are in? They know what a lot of people in the NFL and you know, some some defenses are doing better than what we’re doing. Um, people offense knowing what they’re running. So, I think it’s a thing in the NFL like certain coaches got certain ways they play. Um, they call the game and you know, offenses may know that, but at the end of the day, we got we get paid to play. um technique-wise, assignment wise, whatever we can do better. Does that does that mean that you change you need to change what you do or does it just do what you do better? I think we just do what we do better. I think you can mix stuff up. Um back in the day, like I said, whoever we got, we going to run with it. Um like we got the guys to do it. We just got to go down there and execute. Does that put you guys at a disadvantage as a defense where people feel like people are feeling the pace that you guys play at? I think sometimes it do. Um, I don’t think every single given play that they’ll know um, where we end, but at the end of the day, you know, the offense will scheme something up. Um, and sometimes you just get beat. Like I said, it’s the NFL, they get paid to play, they get paid to coach. Sometimes you just get beat. Uh, there’s a lot of times it seemed like Flaco was able to use his eyes to kind of like maneuver things open. How do you counter that as like as zone coverage defenders in space when you’re trying to play a zone, but you have to also monitor where he’s Yeah, I think it’s tough. I think um with a guy who looks off um you got to melt, you got to relate. Um but also understand what the rock concepts is, but it’s hard to understand what rock concepts are when you know you’re looking at the quarterback. So um I think it’s a whole bunch of stuff that goes into that. I think sometimes he was staring down the round. You just couldn’t get there. Like he just knew like so um you know it’s pros and cons to running that, but um like I said, we could be better if we all on the string. It should be harder for him to hit those windows. Um so that’s what we got to get better at. Earlier in the season when you guys were struggling against the run before this game, Cameron Hayward talked about anticipation being part of the problem, not properly anticipating where to attack. Was that kind of what you saw in this game or was there what did you see go wrong with the run game? I think we just wasn’t on it. I think um at the end of the day is one v one like you got this guy. Um you got to whoop that guy. And I think we wasn’t doing that. I don’t think we were physical enough. I don’t think um we was expecting the ranking because you know the whole ranking and all this and that like hey they’ll run the ball this amount of times whatever. So I think we got pretty complacent with thinking they weren’t going to run a lot and you know they kind of didn’t run a lot but the head was big poppers. So um definitely can’t have that. Definitely got to get better at that. You guys were in nickel a lot. Obviously that was a matchup against your three wide receiver sets and stuff but are there different challenges to fit the run when you’re in nickel versus when you’re in your your defense? Yeah nickel um you basically got two linebackers for three gaps. Um sometimes you can insert the safety but like cover three, cover one. Um but if you’re a cover two too high and then too high you got three gaps to fit. Um and in the fiveman front obviously you got each person got their one gap. Um so I think it it does create a challenge but at the end of the day I think we should still be able to stop the run being too high. I think it comes it come down to one person just whooping the block. Um but that’s after doing your job. You can’t do it before. You got to make the run make a decision and get them after that.

  1. I dont think he's living up to his potential. Most athletic Tackle in the nfl. Just too much of a goof ball. Like Taylor Lewan. Legit NFL talent. Just not the same mentality as Trent Williams.

  2. Steelers football is exciting again. They're running the ball better and scoring more points. Defensively they had lots takeaways. That was cool but not sustainable. They gotta get more gritty and Porter needs to stay locked in..The mental part of the game matters. Go Steelers' 🖤💛

  3. I figured this out years ago. Everyone hates us. They hate when we win and rejoice/ celebrate when we lose. Chiefs,Eagles and.Bills lose, it's mehhhh. When we lose its a global melt down in the media world wide!! Other fans, worry about your own squad!! We're good hear!! #STEELERNATION

  4. Queen played 85 snaps against cleveland. I knew they were gonna take the night off against Cincinnati..

We'll be back on track this weekend with Green Bay Let's go steelers!!
