Knicks FINALLY CONFIRM Backup PG! Ariel Hukporti SPOTTED Working On 3-Point Shot | Knicks News

The Knicks have confirmed their backup point guard for this season and Ariel Huckport, he just won’t stop working on his game. Recently, he was spotted working on his three-point shot. We’re going to break down all of these latest reports today. This episode is presented by FanDuel. The Knicks finally confirmed their backup point guard. Once Malcolm Brogden announced his retirement, the Knicks were left with a void to fill at the backup point guard position. And they signed Landry Shamut to their final roster spot, who’s not a point guard. So, who’s going to be the Knicks backup point guard? Well, according to new reports, that role will be given to Miles McBride. Shout out to James L. Edwards with The Athletic for giving us this following information. According to him, Miles McBride is a good player, but he’s more of a shooting guard than a natural point guard. Tyler Koh is the most traditional point guard on the roster, but he’s young and still has some kinks to work out in his game. McBride was going to play a substantial role regardless of whether New York added another point guard or not. So, a lot of his time will be spent playing backup point guard. Maybe Brown throws Kle minutes here and there, but I don’t see it happening consistently. It’s also possible, though a long shot, that Brown uses Josh Hart as the backup point guard. He’s a good passer and pusher of pace. At the very least, it might be worth trying if other things don’t work. And while Deuce McBride is currently penciled in as the Knicks backup point guard, according to head coach Mike Brown, whoever grabs that role during practice, they’re going to be the backup point guard. So, it could go to Deuce McBride, but also it could go to Tyler Cole. Shout out to Christian Winfield with the New York Daily News for giving us this following information. According to Jaylen Brunson, we are in good hands. Great hands. Tyler Cole, he’s been getting better every day. Deuce McBride, he’s been getting better every day. Those guys, they come in and they work on their game nonstop. When you see that, you have the utmost confidence that when their number is called, they’re going to be ready to go. So, like I said, we’re in good hands. And according to Mike Brown, here’s what he had to say about that backup point guard position. According to him, whoever goes and grabs it, we feel like we have a deep roster and a lot of guys will have an opportunity to grab whatever minutes might have been there or might not have been there. It’s just a case of earning your stripes. We’ll figure out at the end of the day whoever’s going to get whatever minutes are available. It doesn’t sound like only Deuce McBride will get those type of minutes. It sounds like Tyler Kolk will get some run, too. Although, it seems that the opportunities Tyler Koh is going to get will be more situational versus consistent. And honestly, while he’s not mentioned here, Jordan Clarkson, I expect him to play a lot of minutes at that backup point guard position, especially when he’s sharing the floor with Deuce McBride. Now, NBA insider James L. Edwards with the Athletic did state exactly that Deuce McBride right now is the Knicks backup point guard, but I truly feel the Knicks as a team are going to cover that backup point guard position. That means some nights you’re going to see Clarkson, other nights you’re going to see Kch and most nights you’re going to see Deuce McBride. And I’m not saying Deuce McBride is not better off ball. He is in my opinion. But that final preseason game, he racked up a few assists. He had a couple of assists to Gerson Yaelli, catching him for open three-point shots. I like that from Deuce McBride. Now, only time will tell to see if he does this consistently, but give him the opportunity and see what happens. And under Mike Brown, it’s clear he’s going to get that opportunity to play backup point guard. But also, there are so many opportunities a part of this roster. Look at the backup center position when Mitchell Robinson is out of games, especially because he’s going to be load managed. Ariel Lakporti. He is gonna get an opportunity to showcase what he can do. You’re about to be very surprised because recently he was spotted working on his three-point shooting. That’s right. Huck maybe sooner or later will have a three-point shot added to his arsenal. And at that size, if he’s open from three and can hit them consistently, he is going to be one of the most dangerous big men in the game today. Without further ado, let’s take a look at Hucky working on that three-point shot. Now, without further ado, let’s take a look at Hucky working on that three-point shooting. All right. That wasn’t cash, but it went in. I really like his form, although he has to really make sure he doesn’t move to the side when he jumps. But I like his form a lot. Here he is at the other side. Oh, that’s Cash. That was good. Cash again. Let’s go ahead. That was insane. One corner he makes a few but then misses a lot. The other corner he cannot miss. Now, I know what a lot of you guys are going to say in the comments. Why are you so hyped? Calm down. Relax. It’s an empty gym and he’s shooting threes. Why are you so excited? Let me tell you why I’m so excited. We have a big man on this team who can run well, block well, rebound well, has a back to the basket game, has a hook shot. And now you’re telling me he’s working on his three-point shooting and his form looks good and he’s hitting those threes. How else do you want me to respond to this in the future? He is clearly going to be the Knicks future center. That is without a doubt. He looks the role. He is playing the part and he is working on every facet of his game. And every time we look up and we watch Ariel Huckporti, he is always doing something to improve his game. He is practicing, working on his three-point shooting or working with some of the greats from this game. Players like Patrick Ewing, players like Allen Houston, players like Carl Anthony Towns, players like Mitchell Robinson, because he believes he doesn’t know everything. So, he wants to learn a little bit from everybody and adapt some of what he learns from them to his game. And the more he does that, the better off he’ll be. And clearly with that three-point shooting, he’s been watching Cat and working out with Cat. And if he can start hitting the three like that, ladies and gentlemen, what do you do? What do you do against Hucky if he can play you inside and outside like that at that height? Good luck to the league because once he unlocks this, you’re not stopping Hucky. Shout out to channel sponsor FanDuel, America’s number one sports book, for giving us this updated information and these latest odds on who’s going to be the regular season MVP this season. And as you can see, SGA is on top at plus 160. Then you have Joker at plus 300. Then you have Luca at plus400. Giannis at plus 1,200. Tying him is Victor Wembayana also at 1,200. And then rounding out this list is Anthony Edwards at plus 25500. Now I know what you’re probably thinking. I see all these players but recap. I don’t see Jaylen Brunson. That’s right. FanDuel and Vegas do not believe that Jaylen Brunson, at least right now, is on that list. Now, if I expanded it to a top 10, he would be on the list. I’m not sure where the odds are for Jaylen Brunson right now, but I believe last time I checked it was about ninth or 10th. We have waited 53 years for the Knicks to break this drought, break this curse. And I believe this year in a weakened Eastern Conference, after all the moves Leon Rose and this Knicks front office has made, we are finally in the right position to take advantage of this league, go to the NBA finals, win it all, and then start the parade in New York City. But what about you guys? What do you think about the Knicks making Deuce McBride their backup point guard? And what about Hucky working on his three-point shooting? Let me know how you feel about that in the comments section below, guys, because honestly, I would love to hear from you. But that’s going to do it for this episode. I hope you enjoyed it. And if you did, go ahead and smash that like button, leave a comment below, and of course, guys, please subscribe to the channel. Until next time, Nick fans, take care of yourself, your families, and each other. Peace and

The New York Knicks needed to make a decision once Malcolm Brogdon retired and a hole was left at backup point guard. Now it seems they have made that decision. The Knicks look like they will give Miles McBride the opportunity at backup pg. But that may not be the only option the Knicks go to during the season. We also take a look at Ariel Hukporti who was spotted working on his 3-point shooting… Troy Mahabir breaks all of this down!

  1. If Duece is our back up PG then we dont make it to the finals. I love the Knicks but we have too many players playing out of position and we still have guys publicly saying they have no idea what their role is.
Duece is not a Point Guard. Bridges is not a Shooting Guard. Towns is not a Power Forward. Sure he has played it before but with the defensive player of the year cleaning up his mistakes. If Mitch is playing from game to game I see many open lay ups and open 3's from opposing teams. I really do hope Im wrong but unfortunately I dont think I am. Also Yabusele might be a bad signing. He came in overweight and you can see how slow and un-athletic he is. Yes he can shoot but he looks terrible on defense. Having Brogdon as our back up PG and Duece starting at 2 had me excited. Now not so much. Lets not forget Hart will be injured for the rest of the year with his finger. We only have a chance if the East is indeed TRASH this season. We shall see.

  2. Need Kolek to play well and earn that BK PG spot. Deuce is not a PG, been proven year over year. Suppose we can grab a BK PG at the trade deadline if needed.

  3. I don’t see any improvement from last season. We needed a point to play along side JB to relieve him of the defensive pressure he faced during last seasons playoff. We also needed a lengthy two way wing. Knicks did not address any of those issues. We replaced defense for a little bit of offense from the bench. This is Sacramento East!

  4. Man I don't wanna hear anything about Kolek unless it's about him getting the backup PG role. All this "he's getting better & better every day" bs is just that, bs cause he needs to be the backup PG. Huk went like 8/9 looking good, already looking like a upgrade. Deuce should not be the backup, let him be SG for catch & shoot plays.

  5. I know the league is "shooting 3s happy," but Mitch and now Huck practicing shooting 3s? Can we get our bigs to start in the midrange jumper? Those high percentage shots are good for bigs. Then stretch to 3s.

  6. The truth battle is the in the paint grabbing rebounds offensivel board defensive board put back blocking 🚫 shots as a true Center. Huckperdi needs to be focus on those things.

  7. I prefer a 6'5 -6'6 point guard brunson is to too undersize that they keep switching on him with a taller guy he can shut over. We knew brunson defense is a weakness. could have signed delon wright.

  8. I see Ariel starting 18-20 games to keep Mitch as healthy as possible for the post season. I along with 85% of Knicks fans want to see what he really can do. And I believe he can turn into a future Knicks starter πŸ€œπŸΌπŸ€›πŸΎ

  9. I'm not trying to see Hukporti shoot 3s, F that. I rather see him work on floaters hooks mid rang back to the basketball post UPS. At the same time if he's in the paint, more than likely he's grabbing rebounds, second chance opportunities which the Knicks thrive on. Having him chuck 3s will just be a 1 and done situation

  10. Umm…. Jalen Brunson is a undersized SG playing the role of pg. Deuce is capable of playing the same way as Brunson. I really don't get this hate for McBride being the backup point guard. I want Kolek to get to Deuce's level before talking about him being backup anything.

Deuce, Shamet, KMJ, Diawara and Huk earned 2nd team in preseason but we know it won't shake out it like that.

Deuce, Shamet, Hart, Yabuselle and Huk.

I haven't been impress with our big summer acquisitions. Yabuselle looks out of shape but I can see him being out of shape because of his summer. No big deal. He's work his way into form.

My real concern is Clarkson and how does he fit this team. His preseason did nothing to quash those concerns. Bro is going to be clashing with Brown every game. Hell he is proving me right already. Yay me.😒

  11. The more progression I see outta Huk, The more mad I get at Tibbs… If he used Huk The way he should have, got him the amount of live experience he should have, he would be at a much higher level right now

  12. New York Knicks desperately need a backup playmaking point guard to run the offense so players would not have to play out of position to be a back up pg Miles McBride is capable playing pg but it is not his real position he is more of off ball shooting guard he is playing out of position Jordan Clarkson is capable of playing pg but it is not his real position he is more of a scorer creator that can go get buckets he is playing out of position and Tyler Kolek is not ready

  13. I was talking about the MVP the other day. The bias is real. Because they can't have the Knicks as odds on favorites to take the east and be in talks to win it all. And NOT have Brunson in the top 5 for MVP.

If we pull off even just taking the east the only way Brunson is not MVP is if he gets robbed.

  14. Yessir. But Troy do you think Mitch will get moved soon? Me personally I could see the Knicks trading him for Isaiah Stewart. Detroit gets Mitch and Pacome Dadiet and the Knicks get Isaiah Stewart, and 2 second round picks. Great trade for both teams.

    Knicks new starting 5:

    Pg: Jalen Brunson
    Sg: Mikal Bridges
    Sf: Og Anunoby
    Pf: Isaiah Stewart
    C: Karl Anthony Towns

Amazing starting 5 and we get more defense, could definitely help Kat. Also to add Isaiah could shoot the 3 ball well, 38%.

  15. Deuce, TKO or Clark "Kent's "son we're winning!!!!❀❀😊😊Peace and Love Troy ❀️ 😍 πŸ’– ❣️ πŸ’• πŸ’˜ πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜Š

  16. I wish for kolek to play more.minutes as the point guard and tske.duece n Jordan out of there regular position , kolek can really.spark tjis team 2.new levels if they give him quality time during the season

  17. Great points πŸ‘‰ on huckporti I wished mitch had a offensive game as well as hookshot to keep the defense honest πŸ‘ maybe in the season we'll see something

  18. NBA teams see the Knicks weakness is their backup PGs. Just overworked the starting PG Jalen Brunson and ended up ran out of gas β›½ like year.
But this season will be different , Knicks backup PGs are stacked and better now. The Knicks erase their PGs weakness.
