2025 NLCS: Pat Murphy talks shadows affected hitting for both teams & removing Jacob Misiorowski
[Music] Oh, we got some I just passed about 30 reporters in there. So, who who are you all? What do we got here? All right, we can get started with Murf. Start with Adam. Murf, um, what is it the early word on Turio and Yeah, given his absence and where the series is, just where do you feel you stand right now? Uh, Turio’s had a continual cramps in his hamstring. Um, he feels like he’s going to be okay. Um, so I’m hopeful. Hopefully he’s got an IV going right now. And um, yeah, we’ll we’ll hope he’s okay. Next one for Murf. Go to Russell on the left. Murf, obviously Jacob was rolling there going into the sixth inning. What did you like about that matchup with him against Edmond as opposed to going to Abner? Yeah, I mean I mean he gave up a a single up the middle. It wasn’t like he got crushed. He threw the ball unbelievable. He gave us the best chance to win there. Abner has not been throwing the ball like he normally has and um I had to make a decision who was better matchup. Miz is was I mean he was the best player on the field for us today and he was fantastic. I knew he was getting to the end because that’s his pitch count kind of thing is but in a game like this, you know, I wanted to give him a chance to get out of that. Edmond’s much better uh you know on the ball down like that. So I thought you know Urebe is going to throw that sinker and he uh uh Abner hasn’t been as sharp. Um so went with it. Kurt on the left side. Murf, all you’ve talked about the obstacles and the hurdles you guys have overcome. just how do you size up or summarize the the three 0 deficit in the hole you’re in now against that team? Yeah, I mean that team’s pretty good. Um so are we. We haven’t showed our be we haven’t shown our best foot. Um like I said, if you would have told me the Dodgers are going to score 10 runs in three games, what would be the the score? If you said two to one us or one to two, one and two them, you know, you wouldn’t say 0 and three. But we uh we haven’t got the clutch hit. We haven’t we’ve been a little bit um you know foreign to how we’ve played in terms of contact. Now there wasn’t a hard hit ball hit between two outs in the second and the sixth um because it was very difficult to see for hitters. So take nothing away from the glass now who pitched great. Take nothing away from Miz who pitched great. But it was a really tough visual for both teams. you if nobody can think of a hard hit ball hit during that time. So that’s very unusual in a game. Um very very tough background at 3:00 which everybody can tell you the Dodger players will tell you whatever. I mean we’re not making excuses but neither team hit the ball so you can kind of erase that and it came down to a few plays. Uh Muny made a great play at third uh to keep that ball from going through uh made a great throw on top of it. Um, you know, Abner throwing the ball away at first. Uh, it caused gave us another run. Um, that’s a that’s a run turnaround. Um, and we had man on second, nobody out at the end and our hottest hitter up and he couldn’t get him over. So, those types of things happen. Your offense isn’t going to click. We did some good things but didn’t get the big hit and uh again had a bunch of a bunch of strikeouts when it was very difficult to see. Barry and then Adam Mer. Uh would you talk a little about how you kept Otani off balance all series? I mean interesting that last at bat two out nobody on and you brought in a left-hander and struck him out. Yeah. I mean, uh, show is one of the best hitters in the game. So, whatever streak he’s going through, the ball he hit in the first inning was a good pitch. He just tapped it right in the right spot, you know, and it’s a triple and it ends up being a run. And you you you take that that’s not show hits the ball 100 plus most times when he barrels it. That was a little off either off the end or whatever, flicked it over first base for a triple. um he’s not swinging the bat like he can, but he’s so dangerous and he’s just going through a little period here where um right when you think he’s not swinging it, you know, he’ll get on it. Um we’re we’re not doing anything so awfully special except we’re pitching him very very carefully and anytime we can bring in a lefty, we do because that’s foreign to all those guys. They don’t see lefties as much as righties. And um Show’s in a little spell here where he’s not barreling balls like he like he has. But he’s still for us tremendously dangerous dangerous hitter. You can’t forget that. These great ones, they can turn it on like that. But when you pitch them really tough, you know, or you you make pitches to the spot they don’t hit it, then that’s baseball, you know, and tip your hat to the That’s good pitching, you know. We’ll finish up with Adam. If I can cheat and ask a two-parter, was it a decision to stay with Miserowski for that sixth? Was that the decision all the way? And then in that inning, did you think S might have a play at the plate when he first got a little too deep? Little too deep. Um the S ball was wasn’t hit very hard. You know what I mean? Like I don’t know what the miles per hour was, but it certainly wasn’t hit very hard. More off the end and certainly no play at the plate from that far away. And and and um that’s one. What was what was the second part to it about whether it was Miz all the way? start of the six. No, no, no. I mean, you know the situation in our pen and Miz is cruising. So, let me ask you something. We take out Miz right there. What questions am I getting right now when we bring somebody in and they give up two runs? Yeah. So, um yeah. No, that’s uh that was he’s throwing the ball great. I’m really happy for him. And uh you know, he’s lined up now if uh we can you know, do something extraordinary. He’s lined up to pitch the last game. All right. Thanks, Murf. Appreciate it. You guys all right.

Funny to see Murph bitch about the shadows. That’s karma for doing the shadow/sun thing to the cubs dugout last series.
Dodgers is too strong in all respects. Brewers did their best already.
If you're a Lakers fan, Pat Murphy reminds me of former head coach Darvin Ham.
This guys a class act ,
Shadows, yeah right?!
Love Pat unfortunately he’s playing the Dodgers so have to root against him….but hope he wins a World Series one day 💙🩵💙
Brewers became Sewers after flying that L Flag! 3runs in 3 games
Dodgers pitchers have been great Sir.
This dude is pretty cool. Not even a brewers fan
The thing I'm most taking away from this series is that this dude is a joke– transparently so. I can't believe a group of men took him serious all throughout this season.
As a Brewer fan, I have to say Dodgers are a machine. Go Brewer's
Good job Murphy. Finally no kids. ….No asking broadcasters names 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡.
No nore kids Pat? Guy isn’t smiling anymore is he.
This 2025 brewers team reminds me when dodgers had best record in regular season and didn't make it to ws. This team has a future. Go Dodgers
Seems like a good guy and a straight shooter. Go Dodgers though.
0-3 !
Dodgers, show this guy what you are really capable of, respond to his pretty good comment & show him the real deal.
Hey Murph, i'm not hearing alot of credit to the Dodger pitching staff! I'm hearing more of "we haven't gotten going" or "we're off balance"! Yeah, I wonder why? Oh yeah, the Dodger pitchers have shut your lineup down, period! Let's give some credit where it's due!
Brewers are choking,….no excuses Murph.
where are the kids???
I’m a dodger fan but can’t help but love love love this coach !!! 2:55
This'd the guy who said" his batters are shit compared to LA". 😂😂😂
he says with the dodgers' 10 runs through 3 games, you'd think one team was leading 2-1. but if you flip it and look at the brewers' 3 runs through 3 games, you'd guess they'd be behind 0-3.
As a life long Los Angeles Dodgers fan… I Feel bad for the brewers…. They are just running into a TEAM that on a mission to repeat and has the talent to do so.
even if brewers get sweep i really like pat murphy man, he deserve better franchise
Y'all notice Pat has some weird stubby finger nails lol
Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Forgotten Saga is the best expansion in the series.
Pretty simple, it's Dodgers pitching
Please don’t give the brewers sub Reddit any more excuses
a happy satisfied man/fraud
Walking ohtani has helped keep him off balance😂😂
Such a great coach. Makes me wish they had at least one win in this thing. Dodgers fan here, but he's so cool.
The Brewers showed that that if you can get to the Dodgers bullpen, you can have success against them. The Brewers just failed to take advantage. They had their chances.
