  1. Canada winning the championship for America’s Pastime would be pretty poetic given this year’s current events

  2. What a series. Sucks one side had to end their season. Hell of a season for the Mariners.

  3. I don’t understand why Dan Wilson decided to put in Eduard Bazardo after he already pitched two innings yesterday, instead of your best arm in Munoz who guess what pitched a scoreless inning after you already lost the lead. I’m not saying Munoz would’ve gotten out of the 7th unscathed but this is postseason baseball you cannot pitch a guy who threw multiple innings a day prior over your best reliever with a World Series trip on the line.

  4. Way too much hero ball at the end chasing shit pitches. Should have been a ton of walks, instead the Mariners going home.

  5. Honestly, the Mariners just rolled over and died at the end there. That’s just a really sad way to go out. Sorry to their fans.

  6. The term “closer” does psychic damage to major league managers. Use your best pitcher in the highest leverage spots. It’s literally that simple lol

  7. Crazy to come to terms with the fact I actually may never see my team play in a World Series. 50 years so far.

  8. Losing with that Julio swing that he always misses and doing so not letting Cal come up again is the kind of thing ive been training for my whole life. Pain.

  9. > Have a real shot at winning the first pennant in franchise history

    > Take a 2-0 series lead on the road and seize all of the momentum

    > Go back home, get blown out in games 3 and 4

    > Win game 5 to regain some momentum

    > Lose game 6

    > Take a 3-1 lead into the bottom of the 7th in game 7

    > Cough up lead

    > Do nothing on offense the rest of the game

    > Lose

    Jesus Christ, Mariners…

  10. this is up there with the super bowl interception as worst sports day in Seattle history

  11. Remarkable how “never pitch to a guy with a bum leg” could be legitimately good advice in the MLB postseason.

  12. Sad tip of the hat to the guy who said the game would end with Rodriguez chasing a slider outside. Say what you will, these dudes know their team.

  13. I know people say this jokingly but I’m completely honest here. I’m in my 30s. I hope to see the Mariners make the World Series once in my lifetime. GG Toronto

  14. Handing the hardware to the owner is such a dumb fucking baseball tradition. Let the players have it first.

  15. All leagues need to turn to the NHL for how to do any sort of trophy presentation. Handing the trophy to some suit instead of the players is so lame.

  16. Owners lifting the trophy first is always lame dude.

Should be Vladdy touching the trophy first.

  17. It’s kind of cruel that this was between a team that had never made it to the WS and a team that hadn’t been there in ages, from a country that’s been so woefully disrespected.

Neither fan base should have to bear the burden of a loss like this 7th game squeaker.

  18. Man I really thought it was our year but I guess not. Hopefully the Mariners offseason won’t be disappointing like in years past for a lot of our team’s history. Anyway I wanna congratulate the Blue Jays and their fans for the hard fought victory and I hope they beat the dodgers to save baseball from an impending lockout in the future.
