Let’s talk about it. I feel like half the NHL fanbase is saying the hit was clean and the other half is calling it dirty. Personally I thought it was a good hit. Potential for an interference call but nothing more than that. Is it just that Tom has a history and that’s the reaction he gets with any hit?

To me, hit was clean but it’s still at least two minutes for interference because Chytil passed off the puck two or three strides previous
Clean but maybe late. Hard to say in slow motion.
Watching it at game speed, the hit feels a fraction of a second late. It looks and feels like it’s on the border of being a late hit. Overall, hit looks clean. The Canucks guy was given of a bit of a shit pass and just never looked up. Thus you’d get mixed reviews/opinions.
Not just Tom, Chytil has missed a huge portion of his professional career due to concussions. He also has a bad habit of keeping his head down.
Borderline hit, can’t blame Tom Wilson more than a few minutes just because Chytil is fragile.
Also the Canucks are light on centres, they still don’t have a Miller replacement, Pettersson hasn’t yet lived up to his salary, and Blueger is also injured. It’s now up to Petterson and AHLers. But that’s not Tom Wilson’s fault.
According to Colin Campbell this is the dirtiest hit in hockey. Suspension for the rest of the Finals.
In 2025 this is late. Maybe wasn’t 20 years ago but the league has to decide if it wants hits like these or wants to protect players.
My humble opinion, if you can’t catch a guy while he has the puck, you didn’t earn the right to hit him. Gotta pull up when he dishes it off.
clean hit and thats coming from someone who hates Tom Wilson. if this isnt a clean hit we might as well get rid of hitting altogether.
Admiring his pass … clean
The league isn’t shy about penalizing dirty hits particularly when they’re by repeat offenders like Tom Wilson. That it found his hit to be a clean hockey hit is the end of the story for everyone except those who refuse to see past their team loyalty or dislike for Wilson.
Someone timed it with the game clock and it was 0.5 seconds after the puck left. I don’t know how anyone can call that late and he gets him square in the chest. No one is talking about the hit being terribly dirty if he pops back up. The guy has concussion history. Once you get one, it takes very little to get another. If it’s not Chytil, the guy getting hit just gets the wind knocked out of them.
to me it’s clean at regular speed. we shouldn’t ask if something is illegal every time someone gets hurt, but that’s just the way people react these days at least in part because the really bad hits have mostly been taken out on f the game
you also shouldn’t have to fight every time a skilled player gets hit hard but that’s every single time it happens now because players and fans alike act like every big hit is a crime that must be answered for…
Bruhs’ 3 seconds is the rule because of ice skates already being in action. This was a clean hit and that’s not even a stretch.
It’s a borderline interference call but a clean shoulder to torso hit..no call if you ask me
It was reviewed as a major. Refs got a long look and no call. Have to say clean then
That hit could open a laundromat. And anyone that thinks otherwise should turn around, find the nearest corner and look for some Off’s to Fuck.
Clean. The player he hit had the puck
Good hit.
Looks clean, he didn’t leave his feet or go high to the head or chin.
Clean
Clean. Just barely in time. Half a stride later and that would be borderline late but he got there in time.
The amount of people in here commenting have clearly never played hockey lol.
Especially the guy who claimed .6 seconds is loads of time to decide to not hit a guy
# finishyourchecks
Clean hit. Reviewed and all penalties were revoked. Hard to say you aren’t a cry baby if you think this is dirty
That was a great old school Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em hit. I wouldn’t give discipline for that.
You’re allowed to finish your check. That means when you’re at the point of gliding into your opponent, instead of taking your last two strides skating, you don’t have to abort. The hit is within the rules. Have a good night.
Maybe late. The hit itself isn’t the problem, the timing could be
