Holland signed ceci , dumo, armia and perry to make us be…worse to make tanking for Gavin McKenna easier, once you start thinking about it that way you really have to give Holland credit when it’s due, he knows this roster isn’t competing with the young cores of SJ & ANA coming up

  5. Signing Ceci for 4 years is a real commitment to tanking.

    Also letting Kempe and Kuzy go is full time tanking.

    I’m sick and tired of hearing about this team “rebuilding” We’ve been rebuilding for the pass 11 years, sick and tired of that excuse. Last year was the year we were done the rebuild and all that time to start rebuilding again? F this org.

  6. I am not worried. Tampa Bay is right there at the bottom with us and they routinely make the playoffs; they also have the longest tenured coach in the NHL. Hiller is better than Desjardins.

  7. There are clear parallels to the 2018-19 season when *Our Lord and Savior* Willie D took over for John Stevens.

    Guys like Edmundson and Ceci are head-scratchers on a contender, but for a rebuilding team, having some veteran guys that have been around the block are very much needed. It helps that no one else would really want their services, so you don’t feel bad keeping them around while other teams are making their runs. They wouldn’t be assets to unload at the deadline.

    If the Kings are still in the league basement at game 20, I expect Hiller to be fired. If whatever coach they hire (DJ Smith?) doesn’t right the ship by the trade deadline, then I expect the sell-off to begin.

  8. Tanking does not guarantee the 1 OA pick. It’s a lottery. And you can guarantee if CHI, NYR or MON is in the lottery as well, one of them will get it.

  10. I mean I’m not really arguing with the point (we suck right now, and so does Holland) but it’s very funny to me how people have suddenly decided that +/- is a valuable stat again.

  11. Might get hate for this but I genuinely want to suck this year. Like I’m fully on board the tank for McKenna train. We haven’t won a playoff series in god knows how long and we are in dire need of actually rebuilding. There is nothing I would love more than us to actually get a future superstar like Gavin McKenna.
