Sens Rewind: Back-And-Forth Battle Against Islanders
[Music] While there were certain positives to the Sen’s game on Saturday against the Islanders, able to grab a lead for the first time early on in the contest and capitalize on their opportunities as the game went along to grab a lead through two periods of play. It was the Islanders who were able to battle back in the third. Lapses in momentum at key points in the game for the Sens, eventually falling 5-4 late in regulation against the Islanders. I think it’s been the MMO the whole year. Kind of just not consistent throughout the game. Um five minute spurts like we’re just not I don’t know. We just take our foot off the gas and um the team just always seems to convert on those uh chances and um yeah, just got to clean it up and uh be better. Yeah. Well, we got to learn from it. And um in a way, like I’m times I’m surprised we haven’t because uh you know with what we went through last year. You know, you we got to get right back to that program as soon as we can and uh that’s how you you get successful. I think we’re doing a lot of good things, but we shoot ourselves in the foot every time. Uh doing small turnovers. Uh don’t get the puck deep and then uh good good teams, good players. Uh make your pay and um yeah, just not good enough there. Travis Green also highlighted postgame areas of the Sun’s game that they were effective in last year, specifically in the defensive zone that didn’t translate to tonight’s game. Not making hard plays, loose plays, loose passes, losing puck battles in certain areas of the rink. Joining the rush when maybe there’s no time to join, different things like that. Making a play inside the blue line when it’s not the time or place or you have the lead. You keep making a team come 200 feet and create offense with your forche. That’s when we’re a good hockey team. And we did a lot of good things tonight. I think we created 18 to 20 chances five on five. But, you know, I I thought our mindset was a little bit loose. Meanwhile, one positive area of the Sen’s game tonight was the offense able to create and generate in the offensive zone. Finding the back of the net was Shane Pinto once again, his seventh of the year. And the new look line of Tim Stitch, Dylan Cousins, and Drake Math together for a prolonged period of that hockey game. also able to find the back of the net. That new unit doing a good job tonight. I think we had a lot of chances uh when we were out there uh even in the third. Uh yeah, just got to be down, put the puck in the net, and uh make it easier. The Suns will now look to bounce back on Tuesday night, a home tilt once again against the Edmonton Oilers. A 5-4 final tonight. For Sense 360, I’m Jackson Star.
It was a close game from start to finish with a back and forth battle till the end. Shane Pinto scored his seventh goal of the season to jump to the top goal scoring spot in the NHL. Jackson Starr recaps the Sens afternoon game against the New York Islanders.

Big win hopefully it helps Sorokin. He has to come out more and stand tall . Schaefer is everything we could have wanted. A lesson for everyone who doubted Schaefer. He deserved a chance like everyone. And he proved he's our best guy ! We didn't just win the lottery. We won the best lottery! Let's go Islanders!!!!
