This man needs a little credit for all he’s done for DM10.

  1. Yup. Josh has been unreal and all the talk of spicing up his offense seems accurate.

He’ll be getting another HC offer if he keeps this up through this year and into next.

  2. Mcvay gets a ton of credit for calling out defenses in the headset for quarterbacks and all that. Josh is doing the exact same thing. He’s giving Drake little tips. He also did it for Tom Brady. Josh is a top three offensive coordinator.

  3. I can’t believe the amount of people who dissed the idea of hiring him. Granted, they were probably mostly non-Pats fans, but still. When has this man ever let us down??

  4. He is in the category of coaches that need to stay as coordinators to be good. The defensive equivalent is Steve Spagnuolo.

  5. His ability to really coach the offense well and develop players is extremely good as an OC. I wonder if he’ll ever get another shot at a HC position or if he’s just done with that lol

  6. I couldn’t believe the number of people who said “what has he done without Brady!?!?” Like he didn’t win a playoff game with Tim Tebow, take Matt Cassel to 10 wins, and make Mac Jones a pro-bowler. Dude is world class. The offense look amazing right now.

  7. I hope he’s around for at least a couple more years to help develop Maye. Sure, Drake is playing better because it’s his second year and he has more experience and more talent around him as well. But the impact of having Josh as his OC can’t be discounted either. If Josh hangs around, the sky is the limit I think.

  8. Yeah he’s a beast OC anyone arguing otherwise is a baffoon. Mac’s rookie year was awesome.

  9. A little? He needs a lot. This leap didn’t happen by accident. JMcD knows what he’s doing. That grin he had in training camp when asked about working with Maye was for a reason.

  10. An ACTUAL Qb whisper. He’s is a phenomenal OC. Will be in the Pats Hall when it’s all said and done.

  11. Josh needs to stay here and eventually retire as a patriot. Enough of this HC nonsense, being an OC is what he’s great at.

  12. Vrabel is a very good HC. Give him a QB, he’s a championship level HC. Give him a QB and a Josh, he’s a has multi SB, HoF coach written all over him….He might even get Kraft into the Hall.

  13. I was a McDaniels Hater for years. Thought his offense was unwatchable the last few years of his last tenure. Given what I’m watching now I’m almost turned around completely on him, and might’ve been a lack of talent issue. Still should’ve kept Cam over Mac tho

  14. Yeah he’s doing great. I was a hater after his HC stints and didn’t wanna go down this road. So happy to be wrong

  15. Gotta give him credit. On Edelman’s podcast he spoke about how while he was unemployed, he visited a bunch of colleges to learn different schemes and tactics. You can definitely see the creativity in his play calling with Maye

  16. I’ve been saying this McDaniels is the truth. He’s never let us down while in our system I don’t know why anyone expected less. Anyone who seriously doubted him is a fair weather fan as far as I’m concerned. Literally our goat OC.

  17. Absolutely. I give a lot of credit to Drake too but McDaniels deserves half of the credit for setting him up for success. Maye already had all the tools to be really good, and McDaniels was exactly what he needed to take that next step

  18. DM10 is a stupid ass nickname. The initial number thing only works for certain people.

  19. He’s always been given a tremendous amount of credit as a coordinator. Which he’s squandered as a HC numerous times. Are you new as a Patriot fan? He’s been here before. Nobody can deny his skills as an OC. Relax little fella.

  20. He’s a QB guru. Imagine all that knowledge he gained from working with Brady and BB. His offense turned us into what I would never imagine. A down the field aggressive passing attack. Last season we could barely get a 1st down. Amazing work, Making Drake a MVP candidate so fast.

  21. Dm10 is terrible. Tb12 worked and felt relatively original. Mac10 is obvious. The mayeflower is right there.

  22. I thought McDaniels was an excellent hire and I think this is a great fit. While we are at it, I don’t miss his play calling, but I do think a golf clap is warranted for Alex Van Pelt and his focus on cleaning up a lot of Drake’s mechanics and footwork in year 1. It will likely be lost to the dustbin of history, but I think it was the start of a solid foundation.

  23. I think a lot of OCs would do well with Drake, personally. He seems like a very coachable kid that could run a few different types of offense. No disrespect for McDaniels, he’s a good fit as OC.

I give more credit to Maye.
