Dodgers vs. Blue Jays is ‘Goliath vs. Goliath’ 😳 Big Papi, Jeter & A-Rod preview 2025 World Series

the task gets tougher taking on the world champion Dodgers and their manager John Schneider says, “Let’s do it.” I think to get to where you want to go, you got to beat the best, right? Whether it’s talent, payroll, whatever you want to call it, man. They’re a damn good team, you know? We saw them three games, you know, and that’s it this year. But you they got Hall of Famers up and down top of their lineup, you know what I mean? And they got really really good starting pitching and really good relievers. So, um, I truly think that the best two teams are left standing, you know, for a variety of different reasons. Um, and I’ll never count my guys out of any series. Well, there you go. And so, we will have it for you on Fox as always. Dodgers, Blue Jays. Our coverage begins with the pregame Friday, 7 Eastern on Fox from Toronto. It is game one, Dodgers and Blue Jays. And so LA trying to go back to back and repeat as champs. That hasn’t been done in a minute. How do you think this matchup stands up? Just big picture outlook early going here. I think big picture I think, you know, for the for the casual fan out there, I don’t think they understand how balanced and how good Toronto is. I think everyone understands the Dodgers greatness because they’ve been at this level for the last 10 years as a dominant franchise in the sport with the dominant player in Sho Show Otani. But this is not David vers Goliath. This is truly Goliath vers Goliath and don’t think Toronto is a big market. They have 41 million people in Canada. That’s their fan base and they watch and they watch closely. Look, the reason why I think the Blue Jays have a shot is two reasons. One, this team is going to be off for six or seven days. They haven’t faced live pitching. That’s always a c something you have to be cautious for. They have to fly cross country and they’re very tough to beat. And now they got their mojo back and they’re ready to go. I tell you what, I think it’s going to be a super serious because the Toronto Blue Jay has showed so much of how they make pitchers work. And in the other hands, you had the Dodger who go for the long ball, but they also are professional hitter. So the battle, I think it’s fair right now based on the history of both team. A and I think right now what’s what I think is going to dominate during this worst series is whoever put the ball more in play because both team have good pitching. Both team have good defense. So I can’t wait to watch it. Well, I’m glad you guys think that way. I’m going to tell you right now, the Toronto Blue Jays are a very, very deep team. We’ve talked about it. Multiple people can beat you. The Los Angeles Dodgers are a juggernaut. They’re playing as well as I’ve seen any team play in years. So, yeah, they’re gonna have a few days off. I do think it’s going to be competitive, but I think that the the Los Angeles Dodgers are going to be heavy favorites here because of their pitching staff. They’re all healthy. Otani is the fourth starter. He’s the fourth starter on their team. I mean, come on now. What are we doing? I mean, seriously. So, so yeah, I I do think I do think that Toronto is going to give him, you know, they’re going to give him problems and yeah, they have the few days off, but the Los Angeles Dodgers are as good as I’ve seen. Absolute juggernaut. And look, we are in Hollywood right now, right? Or near Hollywood. I mean, just to add a little drama to this, don’t forget, you imagine this team with Show Otani and then Vlad hitting behind him because that’s what you’re going to have. Uh, couple years ago, it was announced in the offseason that the Blue Jays had signed Otani. So, it’ll be interesting to see how that fan base reacts when the show shows up there for game one and two. A little drama is going to be great. Show Otani versus Vladimir Guerrero. Mustwatch TV. Where’s your popcorn popping? Oh, you already know, baby. I be watching. Yeah. And show comes off a really tough game. He only threw a two hitter, struck out 10, hit three home runs. Probably the best sporting event performance in the history of world. Snell and Glass now and Yamamoto. It’s it’s it doesn’t stop. Mookie and Freeman and Come on, man.   19. Dodgers fan here: Remember our bullpen was error prone all season. We had our moments this post season but its still a weakness. Blue Jays are a tough matchup because they punish you in the later innings as we've seen all year. So those early leads Dodgers make can always be cut short. I expect our overall pitch count will increase for our starters. I do not foresee this being less than a 6 or 7 game series. Like we say, "Jobs not finished" so lets play hard and not celebrate or lament until its really over.

  31. I think there's a lot of deference to the LA mystique (largely thanks to Shohei) – but the post-season numbers tell a different story. It will be a great series – likely going to 7 games.

  32. Jays fan here… only thing I worry about is our pitching. Our bull pen gets themselves into a lot of sticky situations and then have to rely on 4 gold glovers to bail them out. We have elite hitting but elite pitching always beats elite hitting. Sadly, I think Dodgers in 6.
