ANGELS POSTCAST: O’Hoppe’s 2-RBI swing CLINCHES 6-0 2025 Freeway Series SWEEP vs Dodgers in 6-5 win

This is the Angels Post Cast, your instant game reaction for the Los Angeles Angels, part of the Locked On podcast network. Your team every day. [Music] Oh. Oh. Oh. Sorry. I didn’t see you there. Uh, was is Lil Bro talking or something? Uh, show. Is that is that Will Smith? Uh, Freddy Freeman. Mookie, I can’t hear you. I can’t hear you. I’m too busy. I’m too busy sweeping you for the whole series. For the whole season. Freeway series. Season sweep, baby. Hello Halo Nation. Hello Halo hopefuls. And welcome back to the latest edition. I got to get the flag back up. The latest edition of the Locked On Angels post coming at you live as always after every single Angels game right here live on the Locked On Angels YouTube channel and after the fact both on the channel and wherever the heck you get the Locked on Angels audio podcast feed. If you don’t know who I am, I’m going to take all the stuff off. Hello everybody. How you doing? My name is Gavin Carlson. I’m an Angels fan and a former credential journalist in the LA area. Think I just broke my sunglasses, but I’m a former credential journalist in the LA area. Spent four years covering UCLA sports with the Daily Brewing. Now in year two with the Locked Podcast Network, where it’s your team every day. Our team is the only team in LA and Orange County. We’re the only team because only one team decided to show up to the Freeway Series in 2025. Not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, six wins, zero losses against the Dookie Dodgers in 2025. I can’t believe it. As always, shout out to everybody in here. Big crowd once again. There was a huge crowd yesterday. The vibes are amazing. If you’re new here, hit that like button, comment, subscribe, all that good stuff. I promise you I don’t normally wear a nacho bucket hat, uh, bucket helmet. I don’t normally wear sunglasses, although I really enjoy doing it. But the moral of the story is the vibes with this fan base obviously are as high as they could be. What’s up? What’s up, Elon? What’s up, MCAT? What’s up, Angel’s Win? What’s up, Davin? What’s up, James? What’s up, Data? Nitsu, Dusty, Hector, everybody. I I I can’t name everybody in here. Shout out to all of you. The vibes are amazing, of course, because no matter what happens this season, no matter what happens this season, we can sport a 6 and0 record against the Dodgers. And yes, people are already asking me now, what does it mean? Now, what does it mean for the rest of the season? We’ll get to that because there’s certainly momentum. There’s certainly momentum and a sweep of the Dodgers makes up for a couple losses earlier in this month, but man oh man, for that fan base to show up on Monday making all that noise and have to make excuses despite being down 7 nothing, then for them to show up yesterday to watch show hit the bomb and to have to leave sad again. There’s videos of Dodgers fans fighting other Dodgers fans at the Big A because guess what? They can’t fight us because we own you guys. We own you guys. You can’t brag about being in first place cuz you’re not there anymore. Gosh, it’s glorious. And then tonight, you finished the job with Showi on the mound. You know what the headlines would be the same way you would have known what the line the headlines would have been if that home run won it yesterday. You know what the headlines would have been if show in his first start against the Halos had some great starts. But instead he doesn’t give a decision. Him actually having to be a starting pitcher in this one and go try to go five innings and not just be an opener. Well, it backfired cuz he got chased out of the fifth inning. And then guess what the Angels did? Guess what they did? Drinking game, folks. They turned it into a coin flip. Once again, the frustration of Monday is it shouldn’t have been a coin flip and it almost became one. But yesterday, a true coin flip and you win it. Today, a true coin flip and you win it. So the moral of the story is memes aside, jokes aside, drinking games aside, this Angels team that we talk we, you know, don’t love saying things like meaningful baseball, competitive, but the moral of the story is this team, this young core mixed with a couple of veterans, we can’t count on them to do many things. We can’t count on them to not strike out. We can’t count on them to be consistent as starters. We can’t count on a consistent bullpen. We can’t count on productive outs. We can’t count on contact, but what we can count on is that this team is different in close games. They are. They’re different. And so while it felt like some of the coin flip luck kind of ran out earlier in this month, man, you have back-to-back coin flip late games where not only do you gain the experience, if there’s ever a playoff atmosphere at the Big A in the past 10 years, it’s these three games, right? These three games. And so, while we’re probably not going to see playoff baseball for this core this year, maybe we will, but we probably won’t, man, when it comes, when the light at the end of the title f tunnel finally shines, whether it’s this season or next season or a couple, we know that we are not going to crumble under pressure because of games like this, because of series like this, with all the pressure in the world to compete because of what happened at the deadline. with all the hype in the world because it’s the Dodgers, because it’s the Freeway Series, because it’s show, and with all the pressure in the world in these last two games, bottom of the eighth inning, and you’re down yesterday, you’re down going into the bottom of the ninth. You have to win it in the bottom of the tenth. And you got it done both times. If there’s one thing we are sure about in big 2025, it’s that the Logan Hoppies, the Zach Netos, the Nolan Shawells, the Bryce Teodosios. Oh my gosh, we’ll get into him. They are dogs in clutch games in when you know palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy, mom’s spaghetti, whatever. They can be trusted. They proved it again tonight. Now, a lot of people asking who’s going to be the player of the game. Is it Logan? Is it Bryce? Man, let’s get to America’s favorite segment first. Time to reveal where the game was won or lost. It’s the turning point. Of course, it’s the turning point because like we said, it’s a coin flip game. The Angels go into the bottom of the eighth down 5-4. Did they do enough in the beginning of this game to win this game? No. But they did enough to stay in it to create a coin flip opportunity and we got it done. As much as we want to rip Mike Trout because he doesn’t know how to swing at strike three in the strike zone, when you don’t swing and you’re still somewhat respected, you still got some aura, guess what? You’re going to luck into a walk every single ball game. And he does it again today. A five pitch walk here to lead off the bottom of the eighth. Then Taylor Ward with a fantastic atbat where ironically basically the exact same location of what should have been ball four to win the game yesterday is called ball four here and up and in fast ball that makes it first and second with nobody out. Now it’s crazy how almost identical everything was because then Christian Moore has another sack bunt opportunity. The bunt was eh okay. The moral of the story is the, you know, runn or the fielders at the corners were so in, they were so ready for the bunt that no type of bunt would have been good enough to advance the runners. Unfortunately, it still was a bang bang play with Mike Trout at third. If it’s a younger uh quicker runner like a Bryce T, maybe he beats it out to begin with. The moral of the story is how about the response from this team after the bunt goes wrong. You could easily say that was our shot. The bunt didn’t happen. We blew it. But for Joel to come up and immediately hit one 112 right back at Henriquez goes off his glove, gets into a space. It’s not a lucky hit because he hit it 112 off the bat. It loads the bases. Then Renhifo strikes out when again you just need a productive out. But Logan Hoppy, not only does he bail out Luis Ranifo, not only does he bail out the bunt from Christian Moore, but he also bails himself out because once again, Logan O’Hap has been struggling so much obviously, but this is just a case of a guy throwing a challenge fast right down the middle. I don’t know if this is right, but it says 103.2, not the exit vlo. But it’s right down the middle and gets just enough of it to hit it into left center. Christian Moore scores. Taylor Ward scores and not only do the Angels tie the game, which a sack fly would have done, they go ahead in the ball game. And then in the ninth, one, two, three from Kenley Jansen. So great for him to do that um after, you know, blowing it two days ago or blowing it, excuse me, yesterday. Um but man, oh man, it just feels so great. I I don’t know what else to say. It feels so great. I got people joking, including my friend Davin asking me, “What’s the moral of the story?” He knows. That’s my saying. There’s no more moral of the story. We’re not looking big picture right now. We’re soaking up the moment. We’re enjoying the moment because we have just gone six and0 against the Dodgers in 2025. Largely here because of one swing from Logan O’H. And it’s so great, so so great that it was him because as much as I would love for it to be a Bryce T or a Joe Adell, we got Joe Adele doing it yesterday. You could make the argument there’s not a guy you want to see get it done in this situation more than Logan Hoppy. You hope it turns into some sort of hot streak for him, right? In his last seven games, he’s hitting 160, guys. 160. His last 15 games, 250. His last 30 games, 239. But a a great game for him tonight where he goes two for four with the game-winning two RBI swing and he scores a run. He also doesn’t strike out, which he’s only done one other time all of August so far. So absolutely love to see it. Absolutely love to see it. People in here telling me, Gavin, you’re a fool for trade saying to trade Kennley Jansen. I wasn’t saying to trade him because I think he’s bad. I was saying it because he’s good. Andre is clouding me. He says, “Resign Jansen, not trade him law. Gavin want him traded.” I know. I hear you. I hear you. I hear you. He’s been great. He’s been great. And fortunately for us, unlike some guys, we didn’t trade him and he stayed great, if not been even better, right? I think of guys like last year that we didn’t trade and then they got worse. But Taylor Ward gets it done once again with another home run. He deserves his play praise. And Kenley Jansen has been unbelievable. So, we love it. We love it. Kimber says, “Gavin forgot his nacho hat that day.” I love it. Hilarious. Hilarious. Hilarious. Um, we’re going to take No, no, we’re not going to take our break yet. Let’s be honest. This is going to be another 30 minute show. Let’s get to my boy because I’m sorry, call me a homer, but there’s only one pick for player of the game. This is the locked on player of the game. Come on. It’s not working. It’s not working. This is the locked on. They don’t want me to give to reveal. This is the locked on player of the time to reveal where the game was won or lost. It’s the turning point. Streamyard is failing me. I’m trying to give my boy player of the game. This is the locked on player of the game. There we go. It works. And because it works, I’m doing it again. This is the locked on player of the game. Now it’s our boy Bryce Ice Toddosio. It’s him. It’s him. Him him. It’s that locked on budget. You guys are clowning me. Hilarious. Bryce Teodosio is him, guys. He’s him. He’s him. He’s him. There’s no other way to put it. And I’m going to be honest. I’mma be honest. There’s other things you can criticize me for. Maybe it’s defending José Soraniano too much when he’s still a guy with a four RA. Maybe it’s getting being too hard on Taylor Ward or Kennley Jansen or anybody else. But I don’t know. Since the first or second time we saw him, I don’t want to toot my own horn, but I’ve been saying this is the exact type of guy we need. And he’s exceeded any expectations that any of us had for him. This is the perfect guy for this team. The rest of the outfielders not good in the field. I’m sorry. Joelle, he makes me nervous. Taylor Ward doesn’t even know what running is. He only knows what jogging is. Bryce Teodosio. The speed is unbelievable. The batting average, it’s still going up. It’s 357 now. The OPS is 879. The guy hits another double. He has two hits. He He’s so quick that the Angels are doing foolish things like trying to steal third base with him. And yet, what is the one thing we’ve been saying this whole time? His best skill is his glove. And tonight, we saw it in the most amazing form possible because in case you missed it, in the top of the seventh inning, Reed Deetmers comes in for Chaffen immediately walks Will Smith and I’m thinking, here we go. It’s Detroit all over again. He strikes out Tioscar Hernandez, which is very surprising because we know what Tioscar does against lefties, but it’s a long atbat, seven pitches, and he throws a fast ball right down the middle for strike three. Then Andy Pahz comes up, he gets a fast ball right down Broadway, right down Broadway. And Pah does what you should do. He hits it hard and deep to right center field. And what’s unbelievable about this play is how complicated it was for so many reasons. you’re going back to the wall. It’s sometime sometimes people think it’s easy when the ball’s hanging up as long as it was, but sometimes it’s harder because you have to be really patient. You don’t just get to the wall and immediately jump. You have to time it perfectly. You know, you’re going to crash into the wall, too, cuz he didn’t get there early enough to where it’s a straight leap. He still has to catch it and go into the wall. He’s going to take a hit. He’s also a lefty, so he’s not going up with his left hand with the glove like this. He has to reach over his head. And oh by the way, the biggest factor here is he’s also calling off Joe Adele at the same time. I mean, think about it. I don’t think I’ve ever seen somebody have to call somebody off on a home run robbery. It was so perfect between Adele and Tio that Joe Adell was right there getting ready to leap up and make the the play. I didn’t see the replay close enough to see if Tio verbally calls him out or is just there enough to that Adele doesn’t need to jump. But the moral of the story is Bryce Teodosio gets there, leaps up, and makes an unbelievable home run robbery. I mean, one of the best you’ll ever see. And for it to happen from a guy who’s been in the bigs for like two weeks, a guy who shouldn’t have to be the starting center fielder for a team that’s still trying to make the playoffs. And he has stepped in and done every single thing better than just about everyone on the team. Let’s be honest, the guy’s hitting .357 since he’s been here. Obviously, that’s better than anybody else. He’s got three doubles now, I believe, probably the most since then. I mean, obviously Taylor Ward’s got him beat on extra base hits and RBI’s cuz he’s hitting home runs and he’s hitting a bunch of RBI swings, but outside of Slug, and really outside of Taylor Ward, even still with Slug, you might give it to Bryce T, he’s the only guy on the team with speed. and he’s the only guy on the team, maybe Zach Nettle as well, that you feel above average in terms of confidence with him as a fielder. And so, I’ll be honest, when I saw him make that catch, you know the meme, I forget who it was, but you know that meme where they’re like, they point and they like, what what else do you need to see? That was that right there. What else do you need to see? He got it done. He got it done. He’s him. He’s him. There’s no other way to put it. There’s no other way to put it. So, with all that being said, we’re going to finally take our break here. When we come back, we have so much more to talk about because we did not give Taylor Ward his credit enough for hitting another home run, for staying redot. We haven’t even mentioned the fact that Show Otani started this game and immediately gave up two runs in the second. We only talked about what happened in the fifth, which we didn’t even get into enough as well. So, we’re going to get to all of that. And then we’re going to finally ask the big question. Can we turn this 6 and0 record against the Dodgers and more importantly this three-game sweep here in the middle of August of August? Can we turn it into a potential rally, a potential win streak, a potential rise up the AO wild card standings? We’ll talk about all of that after our break here on, let’s be honest, one of the the happiest victory editions of the Locked on Angels podcast of all time. We’ll be right back. We got plenty more to talk about now on this Wednesday night. Today’s show is once again brought to you by Open Phone. The Angels sweep the Dodgers three times today or this week, excuse me. Three wins this week, six wins in six games on the season. That’s why I’m a fool that’s doing things like sweep and wearing sunglasses and putting nacho bucket hats on my head because we sweep the Dodgers in 2025. And boy oh boy is it fantastic. I would go grab the broom again, but I threw it like halfway across the room. Um, let’s celebrate this a little bit more. Larry says he needs a locked bonus to help pay for his move. Now we’re okay, but yes, he is right. Everyone, there’s 290 people here, less than 70 likes. Smash that like button. certainly would appreciate that. The crowd has been absolutely amazing. But, uh, let’s be honest, guys. The Angels in this game, in this series, and in the last couple of months, they this series, not only do they have to overcome a talent discrepancy where, let’s be honest, as much as this result and this series and this season doesn’t show it. The Dodgers are a much more talented team than the Angels, right? But we also have to overcome a really bad manager. I’m sorry and I don’t want to be negative here, but the fact that we swept the Dodgers with Ray Montgomery having probably three games where I didn’t like what he did in any of them. I don’t know. That’s just me. Obviously, Kyle Hendricks was not good in this one. Just three in the third innings, gives up six hits, five earned runs. He walked three, gives up three in the first inning, including the two-run shot from Will Smith. Biggest takeaway here is I’m sorry, in big 2025, having an 85 mph fast ball, it’s just not going to get it done. Certainly not consistently, right? I mean, let’s be honest, even when you’re throwing the change up perfectly, when you’re throwing the slider perfectly, that fast ball maybe will get you a four RA at best. But that’s a perfect example where you’re throwing a bunch of change ups, you try to sneak in a fast ball, but you’re sneaking in an 85 mph fast ball that Will Smith can, despite it being well inside and on his hands, he has plenty of time to turn on it and keep it keep his his hands his wrists in enough to keep it fair with East. Two-run shot that made it three nothing. The Angels do immediately spawn respond with two because while Kai Hendris wasn’t great, their starting pitcher wasn’t great either. Yes, Shi Otani, I’m talking about you. Show Otani comes in despite the one, two, three, top of the first, immediately gives up a solo shot off of that man. That bad man, Taylor Ward, as much as I can’t believe I’m saying it. That bad man, Taylor Ward, another home run for him. Back-to-back games. 29 homers on the year. He’s up to 90 RBI’s, I believe. This one a 97 mph for four seamer from Otani right down the middle and he hits it 103 off the bat. Yes, exactly. 90 RBI’s for Taylor Ward now. Unbelievable. If it wasn’t for Cal Raleigh having one of the greatest seasons we’ve ever seen, Taylor Ward might be leading the American League in RBI’s. But the best part, and again, this is what I love the most. We know the Angels are going to give you the occasional home run. We know Taylor Ward’s going to come through occasionally. But for Yan Monata to immediately double the very next atbat and then for two at bats later, I mean, let’s not forget Joel’s fly out to deep center allows Monata to tag and get a third. And then Luis Renifo, he didn’t get the productive out in the eighth inning, but he got it here. A one-out sack fly and a two-1 pitch. Takes a four seamer inside and he’s able to get a jam shot to right field to get the sack fly that made it three to two. Now, of course, Hendrick struggled again. Or not Hendrick struggled again. I mean, yeah, he kind of did. He gave up a single walk and then a one out walk to Show to load the bases with one out. This is maybe the only time that Montgomery did something right. He brings in Zephr John um at this moment, but you kind of have to, right? So, I’m not going to give him credit for that. Unfortunately, Zephr John gets Mookie Betts down 02, but then throws his third consecutive fast ball right down the middle. And I’m sorry, Mookie Bets, as much as he’s struggling, he’s way too good to not hit a base hit there. That makes it 4-2. And then he walks in a run, a 3-1 pitch. That’s nowhere close. Ball four on a a 3-1 sweeper down and away. Make that make any sense. And that’s ball four. It’s 52 Dodgers and you’re thinking, “Oh man, we’re going to lose. Here come the headlines.” But then with Otani, we get it. He’s never pitched this many pitches all season. He’s never broke 60 or something. He’s going into the fifth inning with a round 60 and he gets a strike out on Heifo. But then backto-back singles. Oh, who once again could have been player of the game. Huge swing here, but my man Bryce T, man, I don’t care how he gets it done. A little blooper jam shot here that makes it first and second with one out. And then Zach Neto, once again, this guy is different. He’s clutch. He’s the best player on the team. He’s the leader of the team and he is clutch. He’s a big- time player. Big- time players make big time plays in big time moments. He does it again with his 25th double to score both and Bryce T. That’s probably the most underrated at bat of this ball game. I mean, not really, but a two RBI swing. Unbelievable. They have to take out Otani. You could have made it more if Mike Trout doesn’t strike out. Um and then with two outs, Christian Moore comes up and unfortunately he’s not able to get it done with the bases loaded. But you still got two more in that inning and then we know what happened from there. The Bryce T home run robbery and then of course the two runs in the bottom of the ninth. The other thing that we have to point out before we talk about the rest of the season is say all you want about Ray Montgomery and when he did it and all this stuff and I’m not going to give him too much credit here, but the Angels bullpen did not allow a hit after that one hit from Zephr John against Mookie Betts. After that, yes. Were there three walks uh from Zephr John, Chaffen, and Demers? Yes. But not a single hit after that uh base hit that Zephr John gave up against Mookie Bets in the fourth. That’s unbelievable. Fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth inning. Five innings without a hit. And yes, if it wasn’t for Bryce T, there would be a two-run shot in there. But still, no hits through the last five innings of this ball game. The bullpen fantastic. Uh Chaffen, just one walk, but two strikeouts in an inning and a third. Deeter’s he did did have a walk but still a scoreless inning. Hitless inning. Brock Burke a perfect inning. Two strikeouts. Love to see it. Brock Burke has quietly been unbelievable. He’s at a 282 RA now guys. He’s 6 and one as he gets the win here. And then Kenley Jansen gets the job done with another beautiful save. This bullpen is starting to feel a little less like a bull a blowpen especially because we didn’t have to use Luis Garcia in this game. You feel really good about Brock Burke, about Kenley Jansen. I mean, Chaffen, you know, he looked better today. You still feel good good about him. Demer’s you kind of feel good about. And then if we can feel good about Luis Garcia, that’s five bullpen arms. That’s good enough to feel better about the bullpen. I certainly feel great about the lineup because one thing I put here that I forgot to mention, we’re giant slayers. And I’m not just talking about Giants as in the Dodgers being, you know, one of the best teams in baseball. The starting pitchers that we have been dismantling lately. Tick school his worst start of 2025. Yamamoto his worst start of 2025. And now show Otani technically his worst start of 2025. So we’re giant slayers. We’re doing it against big teams. We’re doing it against great starting pitchers. Yes, Nathan brings up a very interesting point. This might be the rare time where you don’t want a day off. But I actually disagree because I think this is a perfect opportunity for you to not get too high. Right. that I could easily see if the if the Angels were playing the A’s tomorrow, I could easily see them getting way too high, thinking they’re an elite baseball team again and get and getting smacked as I accidentally ripped out the headphone here, but you can still hear me. But I could just easily see it if there wasn’t a day off tomorrow, the Angels coming in and getting absolutely smacked by the A’s because we’re way too high. I totally agree with Katsu here. I think the day off tomorrow, it’s perfect because both physically and mentally and emotionally, you need a break. You need to calm down. You just played the three biggest games of the season so far. You’re as high as could be, but we know what the end goal here is. You’ve now done something that you can celebrate no matter what. Um Declan says, “Are we thinking wild card is obtainable again?” L. I don’t know if it is yet, but guess what makes it a lot more obtainable? This sweep. Because again, you’re expected to probably lose all three of these games or maybe go one and two against the Dodgers. You swept them. So, does it make up for going one and two against the White Socks? Eh, does it and going 1-2 against the Rays and going 1-2 against the Tigers? Eh, no. But does it make up for at least one or two of those losses? Certainly. Now, you have to overexce expectations a couple more times and we have a shot. They said on the radio broadcast to get to 85 wins, you need to go 27 and 16. 27 and 16 is what they said. Um, I believe that’s right. I’m now I’m doing the math. 27 and 16. Uh, were they one off there? No, I think they’re right. I think they’re right because right now we’re three games under 500. That would put us eight games over. No, I I don’t know if they’re right. Maybe they’re not right. Um, but the moral of the story is Andress is acting like I’m a buzzkill. I’m not a buzzkill, man. I’m telling you right now, as someone who all season has said, “We are not in this thing.” Guess what I’m saying now? I’m saying we have a scenario now where we can be in this game. There’s a scenario now because while I don’t think the Angels can string eight wins together in a row, the moral of the story is you just won three in a row against the Dodgers. And now you’ve got the Ace who I’m sorry Davin and maybe a couple other A’s people in here, but you still are expected to win that series. And if you play like you played these last three games, you can absolutely sweep them. You can absolutely sweep them. And yes, thank you MCAT. I’m I’m just being realistic. I’m not trying to jinx this. I want it to happen. You know, I want it to happen. All right. If you go to the wild card standings, cuz I know you’re all begging me to do it. My Wi-Fi is absolutely brutal right now. We are now five games back. We were six coming into this series, right? We’re now five games back. We’ve got three against the A’s. If you can sweep the A’s to get to 62 and 62, guess what? You might be three back. Something like that. And then of course you’re in it. But if you go two and one, two and one has to be the floor here. I’m sorry, but if we go one and two, I’m right back to saying we’re not in this thing. I’m right back to saying it. If we can get two out of three against these A’s and be 61 and 63, you’re two games under 500. In my opinion, you probably need to be a couple games over 500 to get in the race. Right. Right. So, Mike, super Halo bro in here saying, “What a win, buddy. Call it, Gavin. How does the weekend go?” Shout out to you, Mike. The legend you are. If I had to predict how the weekend goes, as much as I hate to say it, this isn’t terrible. I see us winning two of three. I see us winning two of three. I’ll tell you why. Couple things. It’s hard to sweep big league teams. It is. As as ironic as it is to say that after just sweeping one of the best teams in baseball in the World Series reigning champs, it’s hard to sweep any team in the majors, especially on the road, even though we’re not in a big league stadium. So, in my opinion, I think you win two out of three, especially because we have that curse, that hump that we still have not been able to get over, which is the 500 hump. And so, if we did win all three, we would get to 500, right? I don’t know if I’m ready to see us f if we get over that hump and get to 500 and then dare I say get over 500 in the red series go two and one against them then man oh man when the Cubs come to town for what is a big weekend for this team clearly for the franchise they got a loan head bobblehead on Friday they got the city connect angels hat on Saturday a very hot team but guess what if a lot of ifs being said right now If you can sweep the A’s and then go two and one against the Reds and have a winning record going into that series against the Cubs, then man oh man, we are certainly in this. Certainly in this. But people are now getting See, I can’t win because when I say we’re going to lose, everyone’s calling me a hater. When I say we’re going to win, then everyone says no. Gavin’s going to jinx. He always jinx. Look at Look at Kimber saying, “Don’t do it, Gavin. Don’t predict anything.” No. No. No. No. Hilarious. Hilarious. All right. My honest prediction. Zach says, “Don’t predict. Just enjoy.” That’s what we should do. All right. If I had to give a prediction, I say two out of three against the A’s, which would still be fine. Still be making positive growth, getting closer and closer. But let’s not worry about it right now. Let’s celebrate. We just swept the Dodgers in 2025. We’re 6 and0 against them, and above all else, as great as the, you know, it feels to beat the rivals, and that’s the number one thing. I think the biggest takeaway of this series is it felt like a playoff series. It felt like a intense series. And when it gets nervy, when it gets scary, when it gets intense, when it fuels as close to playoff intensity as it can, this Angels team did not wither away. Instead, they played their best baseball season, right? They did. And so whether it’s this year or next year or a year from that, when this team gets to the end of the tunnel, gets into the light and are in the playoffs, we know that Zach Nettle is going to come through. We know that an ohap can come through. We know that Bryce Ice Tea is going to come through, right? And that’s the moral of the story. But with all that being said, we’re going to wrap this one up. Another really fun one. Three straight shows that go well over 30 minutes. I’m going to get fired. No, I’m kidding. I’m not. Um, but yes, absolutely love it. If you know any Dodgers friends, go clown them. They have no comeback because not only did they not win a single game, which is the definition of your little bro and we owned you, but guess what? You’re not even in first place anymore. So, you can’t even brag that you’re losing your division just like we are. So, everyone’s saying, “Don’t get fired.” I’m not going to get fired. I promise. I do need to keep the shows under 20 minutes eventually. But the moral of the story, Angels win. Absolutely love it. Have a great rest of your Wednesday night. We own the Dodgers. We own SoCal. I’ll see you back here Friday night. Yes, absolutely. Seth is right. Smash that like button. Really, really appreciate it. Um, have a great rest of your Wednesday night. Enjoy the day off tomorrow and I’ll see you back here on Friday night as we continue the quest to 500 and the quest to get deeper and deeper in this wildcard race. Take care. Have a great one. I’ll see you on Friday. Oh, I almost forgot. Last thing, I’m just about getting ready to hit purchase on tickets for Monday. So, it’s going to be Monday. I haven’t bought the show yet. Moral of the story, Carlson, hilarious. I have not bought the tickets yet, but I am 99% sure at this point I am buying tickets for the Monday night game, which guys could be the game where the Angels have the opportunity to finally break the 500 curse. How amazing would that be? So, if you can be here Monday at the game Monday, DM me on Twitter, Gavin Cararlson_, or reply in the comment section of this video, and let me know that you’re thinking about coming and I will buy the tickets, if not tonight, certainly tomorrow, so that by the time I get on the show on Friday, I know what section me and my friend will be in. All right, have a great rest of your day, guys. Let’s plan that meet and greet for Monday. And go Angels, Dodgers. Who’s your daddy? We are

The Los Angeles Angels knocked out Shohei Ohtani in his first start against the Halos and used a GO-AHEAD 2-RBI single from Logan O’Hoppe in the bottom of the 8th to earn a 7-6 comeback win and clinch a series and season 6-0 SWEEP over the LA Dodgers at the Big A. Gavin Carlson breaks it all down in another Locked On Angels Postcast.

  1. Amazing how the halos beat the world champion dodgers like a drum. They beat them every way possible 😊😂 if the dodgers don’t get back to the World Series they can thank the angels 😊

  2. this young core is so solid man. neto, schanuel, moore, teodosio, adell, soriano, and joyce all need to be here next year. as for the veterans i hope ward and kenley are back next year. am i forgetting anyone? should we try to resign kikuchi?

  3. I've been around way before Mike Trout was a rookie and Bryce instantly reminds me of a rookie Mike Trout. This guy has skills we haven't seen in 15yrs. I would love to see him leading off with Neto in the three hole, and drop Trout down to five. He's really just the strikeout before Taylor Ward.

  4. I’m impressed of the fight of this team. The next step is to maintain this intensity and hopefully get on a long winning streak.

  5. Oh second half of the season forum is a tough schedule is really tough but I think they held their own against the better teams and they look like idiots playing against teams like Oakland and Chicago White Sox. How can that happen? Don’t make sense does it maybe Pete Rose was right maybe there is a lot of betting on baseball sure looks like it.❤
