Back in 2009 the Titans got steamrolled 59 to 0 by the Patriots in the snow. It looked like the season was over. But then they made a switch at quarterback leaned into Chris Johnson and turned it all around. They went 8 and 2 the rest of the way and finished at 500.
Looking back now that has to be one of the best in season rebounds we’ve seen. What part of that shift was most important to you? The QB change the mindset or just letting CJ2K go wild?

How did the Titans flip a 59 to 0 loss into an 8 win rally?

Once you get your ass beaten that bad, it highlights your faults and gets a weight off your shoulders. Only place to go is up. You lock in to prove to yourself that that one game isn’t you if you have the right mentality.
A big factor in the turnaround was that the schedule got a lot easier after that game. Including the Patriots blowout five of the first six teams the Titans played that year finished with a winning record.
After that game the rest of the schedule the Titans only faced three teams that finished with a winning record.
Vince Young
Definitely CJ, he went on what was probably the best 10 game stretch ever for a RB.
His 17 game average during that stretch was 3k from scrimmage and 22 TDs lmao. That’s Bijan’s performance so far but add 15% more yards and double his TDs.
Aside from the loss, one positive from this game is those uniforms are maybe the best the Titans have ever worn
Great battle of awesome uniforms here
We didnt have long cleats for snow. the equipment guy forgot them.
Bud Adam also made VY start against Fishers wishes and we went on a run with youthful energy and an easier schedule.
VY and CJ2K started playing with house money and it reinvigorated the team.
I know it ended up not panning out but it was to this day my favorite stretch of games in Titans history.
It was definitely CJ and Vince Young coming in the help activate CJ even more. CJ even went off for 100+ in this blowout game. He and that o line were just on an all time level at that point. CJ probably went on the best 10 game stretch of any RB during that season. Gave him any space at all and he could shift into gear and take it 30+ yards. Vince young was the cherry on top, his first game as a starter I think CJ put up his career high rushing yards.
That game was ass but those jerseys are always fire
The run after this game was a blast to watch
Using the Oilers as throwbacks just means we lose lol
