From Jaylen Brown in an interview with NBC Sports Boston’s Michael Holley:
“In order to be a winner, you’ve got to sacrifice to be a part of the team, and nothing’s wrong with that. People make this seem like it’s a complaint or I’m complaining. No, I’ll make that decision every time over. But that doesn’t mean you’re not capable of doing more. That doesn’t mean you’re not capable of displaying a higher level of talent.
“I want the young people to know that there’s nothing wrong with contributing to a team, contributing to a goal that’s bigger than you. It doesn’t always have to be about you. There’s a lot of honor in that. I think that people are very self-obsessed. So, it’s like it has to be about them. They wanna be able to show the world who they are and what they can do.
“For me, it’s always been about the team. I’ve always been the team guy, I never had a problem, you know what I mean? Never had an issue with anything when it comes to contributing and winning a goal.”
I know that misses the point of what he’s saying, but I do hope he gets more recognition or appreciation or CONSIDERation
we are so lucky man
He’s right. And also proof that you can still get paid and be a team player. JB is the man
Idk how people can hate this guy
“It doesn’t always have to be about you. There’s a lot of honor in that” is why I love this team so much. No one is bigger alone than we are all together, on and off the court
This season will go a long way towards proving whether Brown has been underrated or overrated.
I love watching Jaylen’s growth as a leader. He always had it in him but seems like he’s found his voice and more open to using it
Hey it’s the JB show and I’m happy to watch for a while.
