Insider Drops BOMBSHELL Padres Report…

Potter fans, I want to talk about a headline regarding you, Darvish. The Padres’s once ace and now at the very least veteran leader has been back in the headlines in the offseason. We got to talk about it on this episode of Padres’s Digest. What’s going on everybody? Christian Person back with another episode of the show that is currently watching uh the Mariners and Blue Jays on over on TV number two in the studio and like like longing for good baseball. So instead, we get to talk about you Darvish and whether or not he’s going to try and run it back again. Let’s talk about all of that. If you want to comment anything on you, Son, great. I love hearing from you guys. You see the game in a widely different way than I do. And as always, if you want to subscribe, it would be much appreciated. Here is potentially now I don’t know what potentially is, but I know what potentially is. Here’s potentially the most frustratingly clickbaity vague headline I’m ever going to give you. And I I laugh because this one’s not my headline. This is just the sub thing that we’re talking about here. But Udarish seems to not know if he’s returning next season. Uh the article goes on to talk a lot of vagory. um kind of mentions you know how 2025 for those of you that maybe didn’t like he like I said he he went from being open like he w the time in which you Darvis Darvish was our ace quote unquote because I I I see you guys in the comments section having this discussion with me uh over at the Michael King video and Pavetta and Musgrove and who’s our ace and is there an ace and what did this guy do to be a a One year 365 days ago, Ud Darish was considered our 2025 opening day starter and was like the dude on the time and father time seems to have caught up with him and caught up with him quick. He missed a ton of last season. He actually ended up getting in not horrendous numbers, certainly not ace numbers, certainly not chief uh you know like the guy, the reliable veteran. It was just more of a hey, he’s going to go out there and or getting him back into service and all of that to be to be said that in the end it it was this quote that kind of I think was the uh was the interesting one. Apologies as always to those of you if you’re watching on a phone and the text is too small. Read it for you. The quote here from Prowler, we uh will keep talking to him over the course of the next couple of weeks to see what it all means for him. Preller said he’s a big part of the organization and I think we have more conversations over the course of the next couple of weeks, but it’s really just the start of it all. This article came out two days ago as of us recording this. So, uh, we’re not anywhere into that like multiple of weeks, but, you know, I I think it’s it’s fair to start dissecting some of that uh that quote to say that he’s a big part of the organiza. Like, it was not specifically that like, you know, hey, he’s an important pitcher to us, the big part of the organization. I think that there is a larger play, if you will. Um, not that it has landed us show and all these Japanese guys with an exclusive like, oh, the Padres’s built a pipeline, but we have seen some success on the international market signings that I can’t dismiss and say we wouldn’t have had if you was here. So, I do think that the Padres’s see a value in leaving Darvish on the roster or keeping Darvish on the roster or having Darvish on the roster, whatever the uh descriptive adjective you want to put in here. his contract is just so though that it’s it’s it’s at the point where having this amount of dead money on the roster is not what you want. Not ideal. I don’t know really like how to sell it to you that there’s not really like a beneficial way to be like, “Oh yeah, he comes back and we’re spending$16 million a year for the next two years on a guy who’s going to throw under a 100red innings, go five and five, and oh, but he’s like helping us with some internationals.” like but that you know but that being said there’s also um you we’ve done a bunch of videos on this right now there’s a potential shakeup or there is a shakeup coming with the new manager and I think that uh with the potential for moves to be made to where if you Darvish is trying to give it a go but is not able to you know be able to still say to you hey we’ve aligned the franchise so so that you know a player ambassador position or a development position or a major league supplement like I don’t know some like just having a plan to keep you around and to make him feel like he is still a contributing member of this team. I think maybe it takes a little pressure off of him making a decision right now and just saying, “Hey, you, whatever direction you go, we’ve got your back. We want you.” But is it wrong to say like run it back and then if the wheels fall off just mid-season push him out on an ice float? Like say, “Hey, look you Darish, come on back. be a dude in our I’m like I’m certainly not expecting at this point for ages, you know, as he closes in on 30 39 next season, 40 and 41 to close out his contract. I’m not necessarily saying like go be our number two guy and be there for us in all the big moments, but you know, I could be talked into um you know, let’s let’s give it a go and let’s trot it out there and if there’s anything left, let’s get it because it’s not like he’s going to go into that if he starts if he starts the year, goes into the rotation and then falls apart, It’s not like we’ve got some guy waiting in the wings who, oh my gosh, this young up, you know, this Braden Net or this so and so is just sitting there ready and Udarvish is just eating up a spot in the rotation. I would rather that than try to convince him, hey, do the honorable thing and step out and step away because that 16 million would be big. But I don’t know if there like if the if if it is Ryan O’Harn or you Dar if it’s something like that where you can present to me a clear case of like, hey, we need you to step away in order to save this huge bat that contributes to all the offensive production that the Padres’s end up needing for a World Series championship. Okay, sure. I I’ll tug on that thread. I’ll see where you got to go with that line of thinking. But right now, it seems like we are in about a month-long period where we could potentially at any point get some Padres’s concrete news about you’s decision. So, that’s where I pitch to you. Hit the subscribe button because we will be there with information and reaction. But in that interim time, let me know what you think. Uh, where do you see Udarvish? Do you want Udarvish back? What value and utility do you think he has still for the San Diego Padres’s? Drop a comment on all that. Like I said, if you want to hit the subscribe button, it would be fantastically appreciated. If not, though, zero worries. Hang in there, Padres’s fans. I I can’t guarantee that it’s going to get better. It’s not It’s Yeah, I’ll I’ll say it’s going to get better because there will be a baseball eventually again and we’ll stop losing to the Dodgers. All right, talk to you later.

  2. Love Yu but No way is he worth $16 mil for the uncertainty of an aging injury prone starter next season. I hope he decides to retire and go out on his own terms

  3. Aw come on
Now we won't be going anywhere but home watching the world series
Once again the hitters are going to be hard pressed to rescue the starters. Smh.
