A lot of people criticized Biz last year for his Bedard commentary, but those same people were saying the same thing, just not on a national level. And yeah, sure Bedard was 19, but that didn’t mean you cannot criticize the play. So was he wrong to criticize maybe not to the level he did…but everyone could see Bedard was lax last year, didn’t seem engaged and was turned off.
Now is he right to go all in, time will tell. But Bedard is looking really good this year (keep in mind it’s also a contract year) but loving what we’re seeing right now and if he keeps it up, perfect!
I’m 100% in agreement with Biz. And I feel like many of us were/are as well.
Bedard’s (and most of this team’s) level of play has taken a huge step forward. He looks more confident, he’s a much bigger presence on the ice, and is generating so many more chances for this squad.
I was never a Bedard doubter, and the jury of course will always still be out on whether he’s gonna be McDavid levels in the future, but he looks SO much more like a face of a franchise than he did last year. I can’t wait to see what he does with an even better Hawks team in a few years
They mention improved stick checks and Bedsy had a beauty of a poke check on Carlsson at 2:30 in OT of the Ducks game. Was able to pick it up himself and then feed Donato.
Anyone not all-in on the Bedard train at this point is just a hater
The pond hockey comment was bogus. Bedard clearly has a strong competitive drive and Biz was talking like he’s Kostitsyn. I don’t even disagree with Biz on his overall analysis, but he needed a hot take for national tv and so the bogus pond hockey part is all people remember.
Whatever, at least Bedard is proving people wrong this season. Love his speed so far, he and Nazar are going to be big names in the league very soon.
