HC Jonathan Gannon Postgame – 10.19.25 | Week 7 vs. Packers | Press Conference
On the injury front, I think we had a couple guys come in and out. Um, sweat got checked out, but he was be able he was able to come back in. Uh, we’ll have some bumps and bruises, but pretty clean. So, um, you know, disappointing there. Felt like um came out ready to go. Did some good things all three phases, but ultimately not enough. So, uh, we got to do more to get a win here. It’s hard, but um I just told them they got to, you know, we’re hitting a buy here on a skid and we dug ourselves a hole. There’s no doubt about it. Um we’re going to have to dig ourselves out of it. And then it’s going to be us that does it. So, got to get reset, rest up mentally, physically, emotionally. Uh we got to reset ourselves and then we’ll come back to work. What do we got? Seems like the do more motto has been going on for a few weeks now. What more can you do? Do you play better offense, play better defense, play better special teams, coach better? All of it. What did you see that went wrong defensively in the fourth quarter? Well, it didn’t stop him. Um, couple explosive P, you know, after the takeaway, two explosive passes. We we were limited in explosive passes, which that’s a explosive team. I thought we’re okay in a run game after the turnover. Gave up two explosives, scored. Um, and then on the last drive, we got to figure out a way to get off. You know, we did some good things on third down. I think they converted two or three. Got to have it. So, um, just got to put him in the right position and win. Looked like you sought out Micah after the game. How do you describe what he did today? Yeah, he’s premium player. Played that way. Coach, I know you hate losing, don’t like losing. are all frustrated, but the fact that you’ve been so close in these games and one or two things could have made a difference. How would you express the level of frustration or how you feel? Yeah, a loss is a loss. Now, with saying that, how are you losing? Um, which this might even sound worse is I know we’re close. Um, it’s not like we’re getting that the brakes beat off of us versus a good football team. Give them credit. Um, but we’re not doing enough, you know, and ultimately that falls on me, you know. So, I’m disappointed in myself because we, you know, we got to figure out a better way. We’ve tried a couple things, but we got to figure out a better way to get ourselves in better position to win. Um, you know, if if we were in this type of hole, um, having played the way we’ve played, um, and the scores being super lopsided, um, we would still have to dig ourselves out of the hole, but you probably wouldn’t feel as good as you can right now as you sit myself sitting here in front of you guys. Um, it’s terrible to be two and five. Not where we wanted to be, not where we thought we were going to be, but that’s in the past. Um, and we see that we’re we’re near it. We just got to do better. What stood out about Jacob’s performance today? Thought he played well. I mean, you know, he he we converted seemed like we converted some third downs. A couple third down, third and longs. Um stood in there, operated. I didn’t think we had any operational issues, you know, with the with the noise. Um you know, he gave us a chance to win. I’m proud of him. The last two weeks, I think you’ve had you just mentioned third I think you’ve had third down conversions of 14 17 23. What is the key to making plays like that happen? All 11 guys doing their job. What do you change for this team to play? Play better, coach better. It’s not I mean, there’s no magical answer. You know what I mean, Josh? I understand a question. You’re right. Um, you know, we got to look, you know, seven games in, we’ll do a we’ll do a deep dive and we got to get it corrected, you know, and that’s, you know, every losing coach, I’m sure, stands up here and says the same but until we do it, that’s going to keep happening. You know what I mean? And I fall into that boat, you know, like I said, it starts with me. I’m sitting in there, you know, after the game and it’s like, damn, like, I got to do more. I got to do something more. Um, but I I really do believe in the people that we have. So, that’s a positive. Um, there’s no doubt that’s a positive. And they will battle. They will fight. I know that. Um, you know, going back losing how we’ve lost a couple of these games, two good teams in a row here. Uh, we went toe-to-toe with them. We just got to play a little better. From your perspective, what happened on that final play before the field goal to end the half? And how did that sort of set up a chain of dominoes in the second half? Yeah, I mean, give them credit. There’s a couple different That’s a good question, Bernie. There’s couple different I mean, I’m sorry. Um, couple different ways to play that. Um, I I liked what we did. We got to look at it because it didn’t work. Obviously, you don’t want to give them three points coming, you know, into the half there. I mean, they, you know, you’re figuring with seven seconds and a timeout, the yardage they can get. I thought we’d be okay. It was a little too much there in the call that we’re in, but that was the right call. Uh, we’ve talked about that multiple times. Um, and then the kid gets to 61 yard. So, hats off. Looking back on it, do do I wish I would have made a different call? Yeah. Kyler still be the starting quarterback winning. Why? Nothing’s changed, too. When you say that you believe in in the people here, are you referring to players and coaches? Absolutely. Everybody in that locker room. You know what I mean? And it’s hard, you know what I mean? They’re down. They’re disappointed. People, you know, they want to point blame and and uh tell everybody what’s wrong, and we can’t do this, we can’t do that, we can’t play, we can’t coach. Um that’s life in the NFL when you’re losing. Uh but they’ll stick together. They’ll take the arrow in the forehead. Uh we’re going to come back and when we get back from the buy and dig ourselves out of the hole. Is this a good time for the buy or a bad time for the buy? I don’t know. I don’t know, man. you know, I mean, it’s different than last year, so maybe it’ll be a positive for us. I think they’re they’re, you know, they’re they’re not happy right now. Um, so it’s it’s our response that matters with those feelings when we come back to work. Uh, but I trust it’ll be the right one. On the last fourth down, uh, when you went for it, was there even a discussion or were you pretty clear thinking pretty clearly that you wanted to try and end it? I definitely wanted to go I would have went for it a little more than that. Was there anything on that play that led to that breakdown or you know I you know that’s been a successful play for us. Um we got a couple different plays in that situation, but we like to call. We just got to execute a little bit better. It looked it looked to me I don’t know. I got to watch the tape on that. It looked like we might have muffed the snap. I don’t know if you guys saw that or not. It didn’t look exactly clean. It’s a big mush pile, but uh we got to get a yard there. We got to surge and get a yard. How close was Kyler? When did you realize? Um gave him until basically today. You know, Trey McBride finished with 10 for 74 and two. You’ve talked about how much defense is focus on him. What is he doing that’s still enabling him to put up numbers despite that focus? Well, he’s a really good player, premium player, and you know, we do a good job of getting him open, and he get and he does a good job of getting open and catching the ball. What more can be done to improve the offensive line play? Oh, it’s going to come back down to technique and fundamentals. You know, six is too much. Now, a couple of those drives got a little pass heavy and you don’t you the more you drop back, that’s what’s going to happen. Um, nobody wants to drop back in the National Football League, especially when you’re playing premium rushers. So, we had some tools for those guys, but they got good rushers, you know, give them credit. Um, but we the negative plays on sacks, those stall drives. Now, we’ve we’ve got out of a couple, but you can’t live like that. John was physically frustrated after a couple plays. What do you say to John after like this? What do I see? What do you see? What do I keep playing your game?

Hire mike McDaniel for new OC
Season over for 25
Glad monti and bidwell were there today sitting front row
Need 6’0+ QB to see the field
Someone wake this guy up
Sounds like a broken record!
Sadly we lost our bye week by walk off field goal! 😂😂😂
GET JG AND PETZING TF OUTTA THERE!!! IT'S NOT THE TEAM ITS THE COACHING!🗣️
WONDER WHY EAGLES GOT RID OF YOU. WELL YOU LOOK AT THAT. THEY ACTUALLY WON A SUPERBOWL WITHOUT YOU.🤦♂️🤷♂️
😢🤢🤮😵💫😵💫
JG is not the problem, we need a new OC, JG isn’t gonna throw any of the coaches under the bus, but I think we need better play calling on the offensive side of the ball, and that starts with getting rid of drew
Are you panicking now JG?
Cards are a good team. One of the best the Pack has played, so far. Sure, Detroit is better, but that's about it.
He's far worse than Kliff Kingsbury.
I'm tired of loosing. Thank you for killing this season Jonathan Gannon
The fans behind the o-line don't stand a chance
Cardinals media need to ask harder questions.. they as soft as cards defense in the 4th quarter
Last year the defense played out of their mind in the second half with practice squad guys. This year with an updated D-line they play like schoolboys in the last quarter. What is this bs?
That FG before half was the OMEN!!!!
He hurt you can tell, I feel you tho, but you gotta make some changes and fired your oc
Ich kann es nicht mehr hören 😡
He sounds like he’s given up and knows he will be fired at the end of the season
Why did you give them a short field with less than 3 minutes to go????
Why’d no one ask about going for it on 4th&1 and giving them short field????
"We gotta do more" "we gotta do better"
All I hear is "gotta give them credit" like the last staff.
Show that you mean business by cutting players that don't play to the standard we need, fire coaches that are not producing results, and trade players that have value but do not have leadership characteristics. Trade K1!
The last 2 losses didn’t feel as bad a the Titans loss. The team seems to be fighting and we’ve had our chance. Could be worse
We're 2-5 and losing to mediocre teams. This team is not "close"
How many more losses until the coaching staff can "deep dive" to understand their issues?
People can say that their opponents are finding ways to win;… No they are not!!… The Cardinals are literally finding ways to lose…
I watched the game as someone who isn't an Arizona fan. I really don't have any bias. All I can say is going for it on 4th down was the stupidest decision of the year so far. Those decisions should get you fired.
This is year 3 man you sound like a year 1 Coach we gotta out . No it's time to go Sir
Dude the moral victory time has passed
