Why Rich Eisen Is “Genuinely Concerned” for the Houston Texans | The Rich Eisen Show

I I don’t know the way through here. I don’t know the way through here because um they’re starting Woody Marks, Nick Chub, and Woody Marks are their running game as they they keep on um deactivating Damen Pierce who went from a couple years ago as as the workhorse to they don’t even dress him now. Um I don’t know, Joe Mixon, they keep talking. I don’t think he’s returning. I don’t know where he is, but boy would it be helpful if they could just because certainly when the defense that they have, you know, Will Anderson sacking um Darnold in the end zone and then recovering it himself, their defense is really good. And if they like they got a defensive-minded head coach and they got a defense that can play, they need a they need an attack where they can run it 25 30 times. Woody Marks had a little bit of a juice, but they just don’t give him the ball enough. The line isn’t good enough. The line isn’t good enough. Maybe Nico Collins was dropping balls last night that it doesn’t help that Christian Kirk can’t stay healthy and Tank Dell still I mean one of the craziest things is to put somebody who’s basically like 5 foot nothing and weighs 100 pounds soaking wet on on a goal line play where he breaks his that that was two years ago and the one caught a touchdown you know in in in Kansas City didn’t he c didn’t he score on that play and it was dreadful what happened correct outside of scoring. And you know, 100% CJ Strad is um in need of some protection up front. It definitely seems to be affecting his game. Mhm. Nico Collins got concussed last night. They got the Niners coming in next week and the Colts are way ahead of the game as they enter week eight. This is a team coming off of a buy and they looked like that last night. And you could sit here and say Seattle’s a tough place to play. Understand that’s more long history. This year the Seahawks have already lost there twice. San Francisco in division. The Bucks in conference. Texans coming off of a byee should be healthy and going up there and feeling good about themselves. And they just don’t on offense. They just don’t have it. They do not have it right now. And I don’t know where they’re going to get it. I want Tyler Lockett is getting released this week. Would you be all over him if you’re the Houston Texans? I think you have to keep all possibilities open, don’t you think? At this point, like let’s get him out there. Somebody. Yeah, because they’re running out a couple of rookies, you know, after Right. Who are after Nico and Kirk? So, right. They don’t like they haven’t I know they they got that kid Higgins like let’s He was totally different than like TZ Johnson but TZ Johnson’s doing things that the Texans could use. They don’t have it. Yeah. Schultz is kind of their number two pass catcher right now. My word. He was number one last night on the call sheet. So if I’m the Texans, I am genuinely concerned because the run game’s not there. The protection’s not there for Straoud who looks different again. But last year he did in the regular season and they wound up being in the final four of the AFC anyway. But I don’t know about this year about even making the playoffs at all because they are just not, you know, if they make the play playoffs it’ll be as a wild card. And if they do that, maybe it’ll be the first time on wild card weekend. They’re not the first game. It’s true. Come on, Rich. You know better. Yeah, there I don’t know. You never know. Maybe the Maybe the Texans get a prime time game. Maybe the Colts only. We’ll give the Are we penciling in the Colts right now for Saturday? No. No. First Saturday first up. No, I think I I don’t think so. It depends on who they might face. It feels like we’re penciling them, man. What if it’s Colts Patriots? They’re not going to they’re not going to stick you guys in the in in an early window. What if it’s Colts Bills? I’m throwing it out there. Meaning the Patriots win the division. I’m just putting the red meat out there for you. Oh yeah. What if the Colts have the buy? They’re not playing for first Saturday. They could have got the buy. Now it’ll be the first time where the buy team has to play Saturday on wild card weekend. Colts, you have to play Saturday. New rules. South must have the first The AFC South has the number one overall seed in the AFC. Does not compute. You see smoke coming out of out of the ears of everybody in the front office of the NFL.   1. Bobby Slowik looks like a scapegoat firing, maybe not the best playcaller but at least he had his offense ready to play each weak. Demeco really needs to find a good OC, his Defense looks great year after year, maybe a potential landing spot for Mike McDaniel if (or rather when) he gets fired in Miami?

  4. At this point, Nick Caserio's roster construction has to come into question. He's built a great defense, no doubt, but his miscues with the offensive line are turning Stroud into David Carr and our rushing attack into an afterthought.

  19. The Texans offense is holding back a generational defense that the Texans have, i better see moves be made because i know it hurts DeMeco and the defense players as a whole how their stops and plays are being wasted.

  22. I hope the Texans lose every game and the coach gets fired and blacklisted from the league. Claiming they lost the playoff game because the refs were in being paid by the chiefs is unforgivable. To me, that’s as bad as just going on a racist eugenics style rant.

  23. Trade Kirk, pierce, Schultz and an O lineman and pick up a senior O lineman or two. WE ARE OVERSTOCKED ON WR/RB’S and STARVING FOR O LINEMAN.
