S.I.’s Albert Breer on the 1-6 Miami Dolphins’ Mushrooming Turmoil | The Rich Eisen Show
were talking about Tua and uh Mike McDaniel’s comment that he hopes Tua is not going to throw 10 picks. I guess the Gallows humor is coming out in Miami right now. What can you tell us is in fact happening for the Dolphins in that organization right now. Albert, you know, I I think that there’s a lot of reflection happening inside that building now and I like I I just don’t know where the next answer is. And you know, if you want, like I could take you through some of the history of this, but I I think it really goes back to, you know, a couple years ago when they were winning and they had a they had a culture there that I think was a little permissive of the Stars and um you know, where maybe there was one set of rules for guys like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Ramsey and a separate set of rule rules for other guys and that works when you’re winning. Um you then a couple years ago, a couple of those guys clashed with Vic Fangio when Fangio came in as the DC. So they wind up moving on from Fangio after 23 and then last year I you know you’re not winning anymore and there are more questions I think internally on on on the leadership of the team and so this year they come and they try and really emphasize character in in in building the team for 2025 and now they’re sitting there at one and six. The quarterback isn’t playing well. um the area of the game where you know Mike McDaniel’s expertise is and I don’t think he’s lost his ability to build an offense or call an offense or coach a quarterback but that obviously isn’t working at a very high level right now and um you know I do think there are some people in the organization who before the end of the year might like to get a look at Anthony Weaver you know as an interim coach so there’s just a lot of moving parts there right now and you know I I think might be Daniel’s still got some some some rope to kind of climb way out of this. But um you know certainly you know there weren’t great signs and and and what was a really really dark I think afternoon for them in Cleveland. My goodness. Was was it ever um okay so no changes on the horizon or or because I mean the trade deadines coming up too. You know trade deadines a couple weeks away Albert you know it’s right there. And I and I think that that’s like that’s an important piece of nuance here because the hard thing about the trade deadline is okay so the teams that are going to be sellers are generally teams that are waving the white flag in the season but if you are Chris Greer or or you are Mike McDaniel or Jobs might be on the line right now. Are you willing to move on from players that can help you the rest of the year? help you dig out of this um when the assets coming back aren’t going to be things that yeah might might be assets you won’t get a chance to use because they could be 2026 draft picks. So, you know, I I think sometimes in these sorts of situations, it becomes what’s best for the organization long term versus what’s best for the guys running the organization as is currently constituted short term. Um, and you know, there there there are cases where you see owners make changes in season to kind of make sure that, you know, it’s like it’s that the that the the focus is on on on what’s best for for the organization from a long-term standpoint. So, it’s a weird position to be in. And I I hate to be the one who’s going to sit here and tell you like Steven Ross does not want to fire Mike McDaniel because it does feel like things are going that way. I don’t think he wants to do this in season. Um then again, you know, there’s that long-term term piece of it and there’s also the fact that you do have, you know, an assistant coach on hand who you might want to get a look at before the end of the season. Um you know, in the head coach’s seat. Hey, you made it all the way to the end. Thanks for that. Check us out every single day streaming live on Disney Plus and the ESPN app.

"You know who else has no interest……me"
Did Paypal buy the Rich Eisen show for the week?
An absolute implosion. They peaked when they dropped 70 on my Broncos.
the cleaning crew in the background of albert's video is a great metaphor of Miami cleaning house
Rich is back from foggy 🌫️ London where it was wasted the lass two weeks all thank a lot to this wobbly ✈️ 💩 💩 💩 ✈️ should stay put in 🇫🇷 or wherever. Go to ligue 20 not ligue 1
Maybe try a different QB before firing, cause to me it seems Tua is the main issue
The hell is he doing streaming in the hallway. Get a room man.
I don’t think it gets discussed enough just how dysfunctional the Dolphins have been for a very long time even with the Marino years. Theyre in my eyes just as bad as the Jets despite having claim to the Perfect Season. One of the worst sports franchises in North America which says a lot considering the state of Florida has SEVERAL dregs of professional sports in it.
The defense is terrible why would you wanna give Weaver a shot?
Ross, the most hated owner in sports?
What i think ppl missed is that 10 picks is the exact number Tua has thrown already this season!
Here’s your reminder that Weaver has the worst defense in the league.
Weaver as HC will have everyone missing Mike.
Tua has the most 2+ interception games in the NFL since 2022. He has 12 of them. Tua has no room to talk about guys not showing up when he's consistently contributing to the losses. He's the highest paid problem on the team and he's not playing like a "market is the market" QB. Tua's contract will go down as one of the worst contracts in NFL history.
Was homie taking this zoom call in a hallway?🤣🤣 Can SI not afford the man a hotel at least.
Great of you to have Erik Spoelstra on to talk about the Dolphins
McDaniel should be fired but he won't be. He wasn't fired monday which means he is going no where. Which means only 1 thing. Ross wants the #1 pick in the draft and firing McDaniel and puttin in an interim coach could rally the troops to play harder and get a couple wins this year they would otherwise lose. So Mcdaniel is here for the rest of the year.
Grier should be first to go. This is 100% on him.
What Breer is saying is EXACTLY why you can Grier and McD now! Give someone a shot who will want to try out to stay long term and will operate with the FRANCHISE in mind no THEMSELVES
Why is it still the narrative that "players didn't like Fangio so they parted ways" — as if they messed up by chasing him from town? …When it was common knowledge that Fangio actually wanted to go to Philly, but Gannon messed up the transition so Fangio had to take another job (which he didn't really seem engaged with & the players could tell). And then the moment the season was done he left to go back home where he wanted to along.
As a Bills fan, please keep McDaniels, Miami 🙏🏻
