Wish I took a better picture, but Penguins GM was at the game on Sunday in the penalty box side skyboxes… is this a common thing for GMs to do? Are they just scouting the players on both teams for potential trades down the road?

  1. I would say a GM being at a game not of his team is abnormal. In most sports though scouts for different teams are at all sorts of games there team is not playing in. Not just to scout players for potential trades, but also for when there team will be playing them and they have some info to pass to coaches on what the recent trends for teams, or players they might be playing are.

  2. >“It was great,” Crosby said of his experience at the Delta Center. “(The) atmosphere was great. It was a lot of fun to play here and you can tell that the people are excited here to have a team and came out to support them.”

  3. My assumption would be he was looking at Boston players with them being sellers again most likely and Pittsburgh is more competitive than expected, so he’s looking for depth.

But no, it’s not common for a GM to go to a random NHL game. He could also just be looking at the upgrades, I know PPG has been doing upgrades.

  4. Cooley is from the Pittsburgh area. With Cooley not signing immediately, I’m sure greasy Kyle is scoping him out.
