Throwback shoutout to the one and only Jay Bouwmeester!! What’s your favorite Bouw memory?

  1. The only time I can remember Uncle Jay reacting to anything was that time Byfuglien rocked him hard into the boards and he popped right back up and went after him

  2. My college friends and I loved and hated bouw, he was always the whipping boy and was just an accountant on skates.

2018 season I made a future on the blues to win the cup. It looked like a nice donation to Vegas for a long time. Once the magic started, I said if the Blues win, I’m gonna buy a Bouw jersey with the winnings.

Safe to say I have a road white MiC custom made with 19 and the cup patch. Fitting the year was 2019. I’ll die on the hill that we don’t win that cup without JBouw.

Always sad how his career ended, but I’m glad he’s back to living his quiet life likely walking around unnoticed like the accountant he is 🙂

  3. All the games I never really noticed him because he was a great defensive defenseman.

  4. Quietly a legend. Loved JayBo. Always made the smart, hard working plays that didn’t necessarily hit the stat sheet or the highlight reel.

  5. Hate to say this, fortunately not watching him die live. Glad he recovered. Thank you Bouwmeester!

  6. It was 2018 and I was in my senior year of college. I can’t remember why but my last class of the day was cancelled. I had just started learning to play ice hockey as an adult and went to public sessions any chance I got to practice skating. I arrived at Brentwood Ice Rink and I was the only one there.

About 20 minutes in, this tall guy wearing glasses and an Oakland A’s hat steps onto the ice with his daughter. Sure enough it was Jay Bouwmeester. I left him alone while on the ice but ended up meeting him out in the lobby. He shook my hand and signed a puck for me. Hands down, one of nicest people I’ve ever met.
