  3. In a world where everyone finds out everything instantly, I respect the organizations ability thus far to keep Simmon’s personal business under wraps, despite the media’s insistence.

    I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t curious, that’s just human nature, but above all else I just hope the guy and his family are alright.

  6. Honestly with as many leaks as there are in this sport with literally everything, to me this means that this is more serious than we think. Cuz media members have to know, and they ain’t talking.

  7. Wild speculation but wonder if perhaps he is seeking rehabilitation on a self committed basis whether it is mental health or substance abuse.

    Hence why they will not and cannot comment as they is a medical issue.

  9. It’s gettin g annoying. Either fucking tell us what’s going on, or shut the fuck up about it.

    He is due his privacy, but at this point they either need to just fucking come out with it (with his okay, obviously), or tell press that they won’t take questions about it and they need to drop it until either Andy, Josh, or Clark bring it up first.

    And obviously, whatever is going on, I hope Simmons is okay. He’s lucky to have a great support structure with the Chiefs team.

  11. It’s amazing how everyone has been able to keep everything under wraps. In this digital age, it is crazy how no leaks have happened. Which i translate as terrible news for the team. It has to be very very serious whatever it is. Simmons ain’t coming back this season.

    My wild guess because I am nosy as fuck – He has decided to not play football. The team is giving him time to decide. The team is getting another OT before trade deadline.

  12. Does anyone remember on draft night when Jeremy Fowler reported that teams had maturity/character concerns about Josh? I’m not really saying this is related, but just something to think about.

  13. Honestly at this point I think it’s inappropriate to keep asking.

    Day of or day after he’s absent asking “where’d he go” or “when’s he coming back” I totally think is fair. At this point? The guy obviously has some stuff he’s dealing with, let him handle it in private. If/when he returns, maybe we learn more then if he wants to tell us.

    Even famous people and athletes are entitled to privacy.

    Seemingly healthy scratch would obviously point to a personal issue. But, one where the owner himself is saying he “can’t really comment”. Not that he “won’t”.

  17. My theory is the character concerns that was mentioned in his scouting report out of college were some sort of substance/alcohol abuse. He was doing fine but relapsed before the jags game. That’s why it was a last minute scratch. So they sent him to rehab. Which is also why he will “be back at some point just don’t know when”

    But this theory could because I am sitting in rehab myself with too much time on my hands to speculate. Hahahaba

  22. Chiefs are one of the most tight lipped organizations in football and want to keep it that way. A big part of the culture under Reid is to keep family business internal. You absolutely will not hear a word of this unless Reid allows it. Reid saying that Veach has it under control is just his way of saying “I ain’t telling you shit.”

    If Reid doesn’t want it out, nobody including Hunt or Veach or anyone is going to say otherwise.

  25. I’d really just like everyone to just leave it alone. Whatever it is, is probably terrible and hard for this kid to get through. I respect that most KC fans are on this same wavelength and the chiefs organization has let it be.

  28. This is fucking weird. If he’s not going to play they should at least put him on the NFI list so they can call somebody up to fill his roster spot for a few weeks.
