NHL Highlights | Blue Jackets vs. Dallas Stars – October 21, 2025
week. So, the Stars will look to rely on this line to get things going. The puck is dropped. We are underway from American Airlines Center. Nice job save with the blocker. Controlled his rebound. Dallas though doesn’t get it out of their zone. Tried to cut it off behind the net. Kent Johnson on the near side and Fanti scores. snaps a wrist shot from the near side faceoff dot and slipped it pasture. Vanilli gives Columbus the lead early in the hockey game. This is an opportunity to get it out of the defensive zone and then it it’s just a you know short side big breed snapper. That thing sizzled off the stick of Fantelli. What a talent he is. just painted the inside corner. The quick play from two jackets were there. Provar the defenseman brings it ahead. Now it’s flipped in Isaac Lundistrom. A backhand blocker save rebound that fired by Chinov back into Anger who made the sprawling stop. hear coaches talk about neutral ice and and being good in that area cuz it’s like speed bumps and the Stars allowed the Blue Jackets to flow through and it led to the pretty spiffy little backhander. They follow up. Nobody’s covering anybody and Jake Odder got a toe. Meired with injury last year then a healthy scratch at times. Marenko in centers. Marenko catching up himself over for Fabro. redirected by Veronov and in the way of that Dante Fabro a year ago at this time could not crack the Nashville lineup. In comes Chino again backand saved by Andrew who’s gotten him twice he finds Robertson turns away looking for his options. Robertson low Johnston. Robertson shoots off the outside of the post. Robertson and Johnston. Now over to Hasten and the defenseman deep for hit. Save. Rebound whacked out by Johnston. Power play for Columbus. Boy, those two chances for the Stars. I think a lot of Johnston was going to take it himself in front of the net. Instead, just lays it back for Robertson. What a chance for Roe Hint coming off the flank. Just a twinkle toe save by Elvis to spit that back. They almost bashed the rebound to try and keep the momentum gained off those chances, but the score holds firm. It’s steel. Snapped it low. Sean save made off the chest leak. He had quite a year at Michigan with the Wolverines. One and done, but what a won. Coyle from the circle in front. Score. Camped out was Boone Jenner. took the feed on the doorstep and the Columbus captain deposits a power play goal and makes it two nothing Jackets. This just looks systematic. Lose a draw in your own zone. It breaks down into man-on-man and the Stars went scrambling up top. Lots of room to the back door. I mean, he’s in the puddle and unmarked. Does he kick it in? I think he did. you’re allowed to direct it in. [Music] Have another peek at this. It’s a seeing eye thing. It’s a reactionary thing as it goes off the boot. And I think we’re going to have some debate about this here now. And again, it’s what’s the difference between a direct and a kick. The overhead, I don’t know. trying to tilt something but absorbing this rush here from Olivier. Pass off for Coyle. Coyle summer trade from Colorado now in his mate Chuck and a glove save. Yeah, this has been a putrid period. Look at the Stars. They’re they’re all collapsing to the net. Yeah, it’s a they’ve been outscored two love so far. Down to the closing seconds and taken by Veronov. A wraparound and one more save for anger before it’s cleared. Wyatt Johnston, Shawn Monahan at center ice as the Jackets control. The final shot totals were 14 to five as that puck goes up and offered it up ahead. Maverick Bour spun one has helped. Wyatt Johnston on a platter. Robertson and he painted the Jackets logo in behind. They’re trying to get a change in. Second periods can be dicey. The Blue Jackets are. And the Stars expose that. Lot of room to work the puck across the rink and then feed Robertson. And he nails I think the top of the play. Stars trailing two nothing here in the second period. Up a man. Ranton in for Johnston. Bottom of the left wing circle across shot and it’s gloved. Hasten in. Just slips off the end of the blade for hints. Then that quick one-time. No big There’s a lot of guys who are just kind of fighting the puck a little bit. It’s not crisp. A tuck off the draw leaves for Winsky. His shot off the bar sizzled through on the wrist of blood. Just watch the goalender. All those bodies in front. What are you looking at? Looked around and by the time he spotted it, it was on him already. Lorinsky has that sift wrist like here through more than 30 minutes. Stars with numbers. It’s Sean and Blackwell. Sean. Blackwell. Save. Ms. Leakens. Moving to his right. What a stop. Sean keeps it alive. Back in front. It pinballs away. Ernie to Blackwell. Low shot. Score. Sean. [Applause] [Music] turned away once but the followup. The Stars finally punched through while Winsky bit trying to keep a puck in. Perfect play on the twoon one. Exotic stop by Elvis. What a lovely setup and spank the media in off of him. Wise play by Colin Blackwell and the big pump as the Stars are on the board. Bouncing puck Johnston Barantin set it up. Hastin and shot save. Rebound still loose. Fought for and taken by the Jackets. He watches on as the line of Robertson, Johnston and Bourke is out there. They began things in this second period and really tilted things right away. It was Robertson worked on by Lundustrom up to Harley. Harley shot tip save. Wyatt Johnston got the redirection he wanted. And they become a little more liberal at finding a lane, wiring it toward the net. Fabro up the boards and out to center. Bishial gets written off there. Fantelli prances in wide left. dropped it off and used his head. Longer shifts killing penalties than on the power play. That’s a workload. Here’s Mate Chuck. He scores. The Columbus defenseman waited, picked his spot, and Denton Matechuk has reclaimed the twogoal lead for Columbus. on, you know, one of these little broken plays that Thomas Harley’s trying to glove the puck down and then it got away from him. Watch the stars. They all are just flatfooted. Dman comes in, throws a little stick language at Harley and then rips it short side over top of the glove of Jakeer or under the glove, pardon me. Now bring back going back in cuz it was an icing so he’s not allowed to be kicked out of the draw. There’s number seven hardly down the left wing in front. Shot saved. Ms. Leakens late in the first period on the power play. Warenski forward for Marenko crossing the blue line. Pass to the left. Monahan Gonov score quickly off of his stick and the Columbus Blue Jackets who only had one power play goal on the season entering tonight are two for two and have their largest lead of the game as soon as it it was passed on to it just zinger trying to get across has it go tweeners on him it’s it’s just a a simple attack on the way in the Stars couldn’t close down a passing lane, the return passing lane. Quick shot right through Radic Fox, I think, too. And the big guy is usually their netfront presence on the power play. Horseshoes it in. Rantin and out off the skates of Hasten. Empty net bid scored. Kent Johnson from his side of center. And what was a very close game here in the third period is going to look like a runaway when it’s all said and done. Has unfolded and hope just died on that play in neutral ice and a bullseye from his own. The final seconds tick away as Ritz Kovian centers and the horn sounds 51. The Blue Jackets get the victory. They improve to three and three while the star Everything. [Music]
Kent Johnson, Boone Jenner, and Adam Fantilli each finished with a goal and an assist while Elvis Merzlikins stopped 22 shots as the Columbus Blue Jackets went on to beat the Dallas Stars 5-1.

Attended a CBJ@DAL game last season for my first nhl game ever and it was just like this. Plus like 40 minutes of dump and chase by Dallas. As long as I live in Texas I will save my $300 and go see an AHL or ECHL game.
How’s that Mikko guy Dallass?
Go jackets!!
Minus 10 minutes in the 2nd, Dallas got out played. And I was so happy to see that from CBJ. Team has been struggling, and this might be one of their best games they've played. Although CBJ needs to step up the physical stuff a bit more. Great game to watch up until the last half of the 3rd. Also want to give praise to the Dallas home announcers. By far the most fair broadcast calls I've heard in a bit. Didn't just spend all game playing hometown favorites. As a CBJ fan stuck watching the Dallas feed, it was nice to not have to listen to the typical one-sided broadcast.
Dallas has 2 first lines, and the coaches are mixing them with 3rd and 4th liners. This is going to be a long season.
CBJ what 's a beauty
How is that not a kick
damn we were all over the place today, minus a few minutes in the second, this league is perhaps the most loaded ive ever seen, but the guys in green to get it together
Good win Blue Jackets 🏒🏒🏒🏒🏒🏒
Any time the Stars lose, this Minnesotan smiles.
Where's Benn?
Just realised he hasnt played any of the games this season
They were fortunate to be 3-0 to start the year. They could easily of be 2-1or 1-2. The same problems all showed up again and that's why they"ve lost 3 straight and have been outscored 13-4. They've now allowed 23 goals in 6 games nearly 4 gaa……that is trash. Yet Otter is getting praised again as if he's totin a 1.50 gaa and .940 sv%. I see no difference in the goalie or the team as a whole. They've picked up right where they fell off last season. Gulutzan is not the answer and this is going to be a very long and painful season.
Fire Dallas new coach. Go from one of the best defensive teams in the league last year to a joke. Fire him.
Неожиданно, молодцы мундиры
Ouch Dallas
When did Laviolette start coaching the Stars?
Official like button for the NHL to start applying ZERO goals from skates, i don't care if it deflected, you either score with your stick, or you don't.
at the very LEAST in the blue paint, that was ugly
I’m rooting for the Stars.
Rantanen bout to go on his usual 10 game stretch with 0 points
This match was a total outplay of Dallas . Only in 2nd set they had some grind.
Has the new coach the tools to bring the team back on trails? DeBoer had never accepted this sloppy performance.
