Eman Larson with a shot on a save and then the rebound. Toronto scores. Damaris in the doorstep and they draw first blood. Toronto take the one lead. I think I think this is batted out of midair after the initial shot from the point so far, but they relinquished the first goal on a simple shot to the net. A little puck movement between Knander and Ecman Larson. There’s the shot. Look at Tavaris right out of midair on the back end. Terrific hand eye coordination. Nobody can tie his stick up. It’s a bang bang play, but the veteran Tavaris who’s done this many times throughout his career makes a terrific play in front. If the Devils, you shake it off cuz you’ve come out here and played well. Allan made a really good save off the initial tip. Devils buzzing here looking for the equalizer. Peshi dangles the blue line. Passes back out. Jack behind that passing Conor at the doorstep. It doesn’t go Luke Hughes with a couple of blasts and bombs as well. He was active this shift. There’s a pass out front from Hughes to Carter. He comes out the far side. Good stick. Devils have a twoon one. Brad skating with Heir. Brad with Hishir. He showed by Stark. Wow. Stallers got across point and a great tip by a long time veteran star in this league and John Tvaris is the only goal in the first period. Peshi brat brat up the wall finds Jack with a shot and scores. Jack Hughes, four goals in his last three and the Devils tie it at one. This is just absolute terrific puck movement. Jasper Brat with a beautiful scene pass saucer to Jack Hughes and good screen in front by Andre Palad as he battles McCabe and Tanov. But I just loved how everybody’s moving their feet. Brat pulls a defender to him. Jack cuts to the middle. He’s been flying so far in this game. Didn’t have anything to show for it in the first, but he does here on a beautiful pass from Brat. And he ripped I don’t even think he touched them there. There’s there’s nothing there. I mean, look, let the Well, it’s the people in power that Well, let’s get to see it from every angle. Turned out perfectly because it came out to Cody Glass and he chips it home. There’s the shot initial save there with the blocker off of Gritsuk by Stallars. But Vit Sukra retrieves the puck, gets to Luke Hughes. Here’s the shot. And he kind of was shooting it wide. I think it went off the toe of Mercer, but the puck Teemo the toe of Teemo. Exactly. Bryce Laoren stolen by Gritz. Cleared back out. Here comes Glen Denning on a twoon one. Glenn Denning leaves it for Dylan with a shot and scores. And the Devils take a three to one lead with three goals in less than 5 minutes in the middle frame. Well, Brendan Dylan getting in on the act. The attack leafs got caught. Everybody is the Devils again. Great pressure uh up top in their zone. There’s the pick uh by the Devils there. That’s Gritsuk who intercepted that pass. He goes to the net. That allows Dylan to join the attack as Gritsuk does a good job of drawing a defender. A nice pass from Glenn Denning. Did Dylan with a wicked wrist shot to give the Devils a 3-1 lead. Rub wants to stop the bleeding. So, the Leafs have taken a timeout here and back out the center ice. Diver finds Knander one-on-one. Knander with a move. Finds Villio scores into the wide open net and Toronto creeping back in. It’s 3-2. Ah, no chance for Jake Allen here. Last guy, if you’re New Jersey, you want the puck on his stick on a partial twoon-one. Watch this. Patience draws Dylan to him. The fake shot and just slides it over with a great pass on the back hand to Machelli. And that’s an easy one. So they get one step closer to makes it out. still with it. Finds Luke Hughes. Passes back out the glass with a shot to flex wide. Rebound and Luke Hughes is stoned by Stallard. Here comes Max Doy skating with Matthews. Batted back out of the air by Dylan. Cleared back out. Here comes Jack Hughes one-on-one. Jack fires and scores. Jack Hughes make it two. It’s 42 New Jersey. Slap shot even. The kids electrifying. Watch Toronto doesn’t get it in deep. Oh, great play by Brat. Look at Jack pick it up on the backhand. Hey, no, no messing around. I’m going to wind up. I’ve got some time as Riley can’t get across soon enough. He was coming from the bench and he blasts it. He Larson shot deflects onto the stick of Riley Dwis. Centering pass. Joshua can’t get it going. And now finally it’s McMahon who takes the shot. Allen with the save. They get a big face off win, but they lose a clean, but Larson with a heave, but it doesn’t get through. Matthews with a couple nifty moves to try to get it in front of off the side of the net. Then he slings one a save by Allen. Wow, what a save. Talk about stick handling in a foam boot for the Devils. But last few shift after Jack Hughes made it 5-3. They’re going look at that stick puck between the legs. just can’t quite find to go sign with the Vegas Golden Knights in free agency. The Devils Pot Dylan doing an excellent job, but he tries to go behind the net. Just lost the handle. Timebing away for the Leafs. They can’t fish it back out. Great job by Heir to pin it to the wall. Squirts back out to Knander. Knander by driving with a shot and a sliding save by Allen. Devils come out. Brat passes to Jack. Jack looking for the hattick. Bounces towards the empty net and scores with the dagger. Jack Hughes his third career hattick. And the Devils take a five to2 lead. He just gets that puck. It’s spinning. It’s bouncing. He just whacks it toward the Leaf net. I think Knander got a piece of it, but it bounces a little bit off the post and in. And what a night for the Devils. Has been a complete team effort. Now we got a brawl going here. Halamin and Benis. And Benois is a big boy. And Halin trying to Oh, and a big right after taking two or three blows from Simone Ben Wah. But Halinan, I don’t know how he hung in there and then he got a bomb in at the end that knocked the big defenseman down. So you see Halan step up here against Benois. Least frustrated obviously and Benois lands one, two, he catches him with a few. Watch this as Helinan loads up. Bam. Yeah. It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish. And that’s got to make him feel good, right? We know that Mason’s on his way back. Oh, what a right hand. And it might come at the expense of his spot on that fourth line, but Netts pins it into the far corner. Put a pitchfork in this one. Devils win their fifth in a row as they come to the Great White North and knock off the Leafs 5-2. [Music]

Jack Hughes recorded his third career hat trick, and Jesper Bratt tacked on three assists as the New Jersey Devils defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-2.
