UM, YOU KNOW, SUDDEN DEATH HAS A NEW MEANING. SO WHAT, WHATEVER THEY’RE DOING, IT’S WORKING. AND FINALLY FINALLY, THEY’RE LOOKING PRETTY GOOD AT HOME. THIS IS THE TEAM THAT CAN’T LOSE ON THE ROAD. THEY’RE HOME IN SEATTLE AND I DON’T KNOW IF THERE’S GOING TO BE A WAY TO GET THE OFFICIAL NUMBER OF BUTTS IN SEATS FOR LAST NIGHT, BUT IT SURE SEEMS LIKE SOME OF THOSE FOLKS WEREN’T THERE. THEY WERE HOME WATCHING THE MARINERS AND THE BLUE JAYS IN GAME 7 OF THE ALCS, AND OBVIOUSLY THE BLUE JAYS WIN. THEY MOVE ON TO THE WORLD SERIES, BUT IT LOOKED A LITTLE, IT LOOKED A LITTLE SPOTTY IN THE UPPER DECK, WHICH IS STUNNING FOR THE SEAHAWKS AND THAT STADIUM WHERE RETIRED NUMBER 12 FOR THEIR FANS, THEIR FANS HAVE BEEN PART OF WHAT HAD BEEN 1 OF THE BEST HOME FIELD ADVANTAGES IN FOOTBALL UNTIL THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS? BUT IT’S GOOD FOR THE SEAHAWKS TO TO RETURN HOME AND GET A WIN ON A NIGHT. WHEN YOU GOT ARE UPSET BECAUSE THEY WERE UP 3 TO 1 NOT THAT I WATCHED ANY OF IT BECAUSE I DIDN’T BUT THEY WERE UP 3 TO 1 AND THEY BLEW IT, THEY HAD THEIR, THEIR CHANCE FOR THE FIRST EVER WORLD SERIES APPEARANCE IN THEIR GRASP. SO VERY BITTERSWEET MORE BITTER THAN SWEET DAY IN SEATTLE BECAUSE YEAH, THEIR FOOTBALL TEAM WON. BUT THAT SEASON KEEPS GOING 1 OF THE BEST BASEBALL SEASONS THEY’VE EVER HAD. ARGUABLY. THE BEST OVERDONE KAPUT ALL IN THE SAME NIGHT. YEAH, AND I, I WOULD THINK AS A SPORTS FAN, IT’D BE COOL TO BE IN A STADIUM AND I’M SURE THEY HAD THE GAME EVERY TIME THEY COULD THEY PROBABLY HAD TO SCORE AT THE BOTTOM SOMEWHERE. PROBABLY SHOWING UP UPDATES, SO I WOULD THINK IT’D BE FUN TO BE AT THAT GAME CHEERING ON 1 OF YOUR TEAMS, BY ALSO FOLLOWING KEEPING UP WITH OTHER FANS AROUND YOU. SO YOU KNOW I WOULD THINK A FULL STADIUM KNOWING HEY I’D RATHER BE HERE THAN JUST BE AT MY HOUSE ON A YOU KNOW SPLIT SCREEN WATCHING THE GAME. HEY, THERE WAS A DUDE, SITTING THERE WATCHING THE GAME ON HIS PHONE AND USUALLY WHEN YOU’RE AT, A A STADIUM LIKE THAT AND I KNOW THEY’VE MADE STRIDES IN THE SPEED AND THE WI-FI. IN IN STADIUMS WHERE YOU’VE GOT THAT, MASSIVE SIMULTANEOUS SUCKING ON THE THE JUICE. BUT YEAH IT LOOKED IT LOOKED CLEAR, HE’S SITTING THERE WATCHING IT AND YOU CAN SEE THE PITCHER YOU KNOW SHAKING OFF THE SIGNS AND I DON’T KNOW I I’M I’M A BIG PROPONENT OF ALWAYS LIKE BEING AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS AND WHEN YOU’RE AT A SPORTING EVENT, DEEP INTO YOUR WHEN A FOOTBALL IS GOING TO ANYTHING, BUT THAT’S WHAT A LOT OF THEM SEEM TO DO LAST NIGHT. THEY WATCHED THE MARINERS LOSE AND THEN THEY WATCHED THE SEAHAWKS GET THEIR VICTORY TO MOVE TO 5 AND 2 ON THE SEASON 27 AND 19 OVER THE HOUSTON WAS IT FELT SLUGGISH. IT FELT LIKE THEY HAD CHANCES, AND IT FELT MORE LIKE IN THIS 1 THAT THE SEAHAWKS WERE EVENTUALLY GONNA BLOW THEIR CHANCES BECAUSE THE SEAHAWKS DON’T OFFENSE THAT THE LIONS DO. I FELT TO ME DEVON THAT THEY HAD A HARD TIME. CLOSING THE DOOR ON THE HOUSTON TEXANS. SOME OF IT WAS JUST YOU YOU’RE WATCHING AND YOU’RE ALMOST LIKE LIKE WHY? I MEAN, IT WAS ALMOST LIKE THE SAM DARNOLD, THE FUMBLE IN THE END ZONE. I I THOUGHT THAT WAS SO UNNECESSARY THE BALL. THE BALL WASN’T AT THE HALF INCH LINE. LIKE YEAH, YOU KNOW, SAM TOOK HIS NORMAL JOB BUT IT WAS AT A POINT IN THE GAME WHERE YOU’RE JUST LIKE, IF WE DON’T HAVE, YOU KNOW, THE HUGE MISTAKE. LIKE EVEN IF WE MAKE A SMALL MISTAKE, JUST NOT THE HUGE LIKE THIS TEAM’S VERY LIKE HOUSTON. THEY THEY NEVER GOTTEN A GOOD RHYTHM. THEY REALLY COULDN’T DO MUCH OFFENSIVELY AT ALL KICKED. A COUPLE FIELD GOALS AND YOU GIVE UP THE STRIP SACK AND AND WILL ANDERSON STRIPS IT, RECOVERS IT IN THE END ZONE AND IT WAS LIKE OKAY HERE WE GO. LIKE THIS TEAM HOUSTON, THEY ONLY NEED 1 DRIVE AND THEN ALL OF A IN UM, BUT AND AGAIN, I THINK FOR SEATTLE, THAT’S A PART OF GROWING AS A TEAM TOO. HOW DO YOU CLOSE OUT A TEAM? HOW DO YOU FINALLY SAY? ALL RIGHT, THIS IS IT BECAUSE I THOUGHT THEY PLAYED THE GAME THE EXACT WAY THEY WANTED. UNBELIEVABLE BALANCE, RUN PASS GAME AND YOU KNOW YOU JUST SAID IT AS WE WERE COMING ON KENNETH WALKER, 66 YARDS. NONE OF IT WAS PRETTY IT WASN’T 1 OF THOSE GAMES WHERE IT WAS LIKE 5 YARDS, 6 YARDS, 12 YARDS, FIFS. IT WAS LIKE I WE GAINED WE HAVE A POSITIVE, WHAT? WE HAD A NEGATIVE PLAY. OH, BUT THEY JUST SAID, WE’RE GOING TO KEEP GRINDING IT OUT AND IT OPENED UP THE PLAY ACTION, WHERE I THINK DONALD’S THE MOST COMFORTABLE WHEN HE CAN COME UP. THOSE, UH, PLAY ACTION READS AND ABLE TO FIND GUYS IN DIFFERENT WINDOWS BUT IT’S JUST THEY COULDN’T CLOSE OUT AND IT WAS WEIRD BECAUSE THEY’RE ALL THEIR DEFENSE WAS RUNNING IN DIFFERENT, MIKE MCDONALD, BLITZES, 1 TIME. IT’S A BLITZ WITH MAN. THEN IT’S A BLITZ WITH YOU KNOW, 3 HIGH BEHIND IT. THEN IT’S A BLITZ WITH 2 HIGH. JUST HE KEPT IT MOVING. CJ DIDN’T GET COMFORTABLE. BUT I I THINK, YOU KNOW, IF I WAS MIKE MCDONALD, THAT WOULD BE MY FOCUS. THE NEXT DAY IN THE MEETING ROOM OF HEY, GUYS, AND I WOULD SHOW EXAMPLES OF SOME DRIVES IN THE GAME, WHETHER DEFENSIVELY OR OFFENSIVELY OF, HEY, THIS IS THE DRIVE. IF WE GET THIS TURNOVER OR WE GO 3 AND OUT HERE OR IF OFFENSIVELY, IF WE GO AND WE SCORE TOUCHDOWN HERE, WE WE BASICALLY MAKE IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO LOSE THE GAME. I MEAN, IF YOU’RE NOT THE GIANTS VERSUS DENVER BUT LIKE WE MAKE IMPOSSIBLE AND GOOD TEAMS, FIND THAT THEY FIND A WAY, AND WE ALWAYS SAY IT IN NEW ENGLAND. THEY’RE GOING TO NEED TO FIND THAT IF THEY WANT TO BE THE TEAM THEY WANT TO BE AND TRY TO WIN THAT DIVISION AND THEN TRY TO YOU KNOW, ADVANCE IN THE PLAYOFFS. WELL, AND THEY THEY WERE. DRIVING FOR WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN WOULD HAVE BEEN SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE STEP ON THE THROAT MOMENT AND WHAT HAPPENED WAS AND IT FELT TO ME LIKE CLINT KUBIAK TRYING TO INJECT HIS NAME INTO THE DISCUSSION FOR COACHING CANDIDATES FOR THE NEXT CYCLE. AND HOW DO YOU DO THAT? IF YOU’RE AN OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR YOU COME UP WITH SOME SORT OF A TRICK PLAY AND THE NEXT THING YOU KNOW, YOU’RE THE NEW BEN JOHNSON. COOPER. KUPP THROWS A PASS GETS PICKED. IT WAS JUST A CRAP SHOW AND IT FELT LIKE OPPORTUNITY TO END IT LOST AND THE SEAHAWKS JUST KEEP HANGING AROUND AND THEY ARE THE TEXANS, EXCUSE ME? THEY JUST KEPT HANGING AROUND AND THEY JUST KEPT HANGING AROUND AND I GOT TO GIVE BOTH TEAMS CREDIT. EVEN WHEN IT GOT LATE IN THE GAME AND WERE STILL THEY WERE HIT AND HARD. I MEAN DEFENSE HAS ZERO, QUIT IN IT AND THE TEXANS DEFENSE IS THE SAME WAY BOTH OFFENSES ARE A LITTLE SUSPECT, BUT THERE’S NO QUESTION ABOUT THE TENACITY AND JUST THE RAW ACCEPTABLE WITHIN THE RULES VIOLENCE, THAT’S INFLICTED BY THOSE DEFENSES. YEAH, NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. AND AND SPEAKING TO KUBIAK AS A DEFENSE, WE USED TO ALWAYS TALK RIGHT, WHEN THE BALL, GOT AROUND TO 30 YARD LINE OR A LITTLE FURTHER, NOT EXACTLY IN THE RED ZONE. BUT JUST THAT FRINGE ERROR, WE USED TO CALL THE GRAY ZONE IS WHEN YOU WOULD, WE WOULD PLAY TEAMS AND BE LIKE, HEY, OUR OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR IS GOOD. HE’S TRYING TO GET A HEAD COACHING JOB AND WE WOULD, WE WOULD HAVE A MENTALITY OF THIS IS WHEN WE WOULD CALL IT THE BS, THIS IS WHEN THE BS COMES OUT, WE GOT TO BE READY, WE GOT TO BE DISCIPLINED, WE GOT TO STAY AT HOME, SO YOU’RE EXACTLY RIGHT THAT, THAT PLAY CAME AROUND, THAT KIND OF AREA ON THE FIELD THAT, YOU KNOW, CALLED THE 35 YARD LINE OR SOMETHING WHERE YOU GET CUP COMING AROUND. AND IF IT WORKS YOU’RE THE GENIUS. BUT LIKE IN THAT MOMENT WHERE IT DOESN’T WORK, IT’S JUST LIKE MAN WHAT A WHAT ARE WE DOING? JUST LIKE, JUST KEEP DOING IN THAT DRIVE WAS ACTUALLY 1 OF THEIR BETTER DRIVES OF THE GAME. UM BUT YES, I I THINK 1 OF THE THINGS THAT STUCK OUT AND I THINK IT’S WHY YOU KEEP HAVING SOME HOPE FOR THIS HOUSTON TEXANS. TEAM IS THE DEFENSE LIKE EVEN AFTER THEY WERE STRUGGLING. GETTING CLOSE TO THE END ZONE IS STILL NOT SCORING. YOU KNOW, GETTING STOPPED ON THIRD AND FOURTH DOWN, THE DEFENSE WOULD COME OUT. AND YOU KNOW, YOU’RE LIKE WELL, SEATTLE IS GOING TO RUN THE BALL NOW, YOU KNOW, DOWN AND, YOU KNOW, GETTING CLOSE TO THE END ZONE WARNED HIS DEFENSE DOWN AND THE BALL OUT OF NOWHERE. YOU SEE, EITHER PETRI OR OR ALERE RUNNING THERE AND I MEAN SOMEBODY JUST GO BACKWARDS AND YOU’RE LIKE, MAN, THIS DEFENSE IS STILL PLAYING HARD TO NAIL HUNTER WILL ANDERSON JR LIKE PLAYING SO HARD AND I THINK AS MUCH AS SOMETIMES WE TALK ABOUT, YOU KNOW, THE HEAD COACHING DECISION, WHAT THEY SHOULD DO, WHAT THEY SHOULDN’T DO WHICH I’M SURE YOU WOULD LOVE TO GET INTO OF NOT KICKING THE BALL OUT OF BOUNDS. YOU SEE SOMETIMES WITH THAT EFFORT HOW MUCH THESE TEAMS BELIEVE IN THEIR HEAD COACH AND THE MESSAGING AND HOW THEY WANT THEM TO PLAY THE GAME AND I THOUGHT THAT STUCK OUT LIKE YOU SAID, BOTH DEFENSES AND HOW THEY HEAD, COACHES, AND I

  2. Florio is spot on – Kubiak is trying to make a name for HIMSELF not put the offense in the best position to win. It's getting annoying. And has already cost the team a win v TB.

  7. Both offenses are suspect? The Seahawks put up 27 against a team thats averaging 12 against. On top of that they could have put up 40 without some dumb mistakes. You cant compare the Hawks offense with the Texans.

  23. The Seahawks can't take anything for granted! We have to finish teams early when it's in our grasp! Other than that, I'm very impressed with them! They make me feel pride on a daily!

  24. If that so, it’s because Seattle was laughing so hard… stroud was pathetic just like the O-line and the OC. Ryans has coach everyone not just the defense, he’s in charge of seeing to the entire team and he’s not doing that.

  28. I’m Houston has one of the best defenses in the league. What’s weird about it. This was a defensive game of attrition and Hawks won so idk why they’re talking like the Hawks lost or like our defense isn’t elite or like JSN isn’t one of if not THE best WR in the game right now.

  33. Kubiak needs to stop with these trick plays. ESPECIALLY when we’re driving. Against the Bucs down 0-6 and the defnese is holding them to FGs he runs a pitch option with Jalen milroe and k9 fumbles the bad toss and that turns into a td for the Bucs. We lost that game by 3. If we woulda lost that game last night Mike Macdonald would of had to step in to tell Kubiak to stop getting cute with the play calling.

  36. Was at the game.

    1) tons of fans watching M's in concourse and obviously on phones.
    2) tons of fans finally arriving to seats after M's games over.
    3) this game shoulda been 42-9. Seattle did everything they could to f it up.

  37. Walker needs to take a half breath, he's too antsy and always tries to jump outside instead of waiting for his line to open a lane, which that did many times last night, and walker got tackled for losses trying to bounce outside repeatedly. 2 turnovers are 100% on dumb play calls.

  41. As a Mariners fan, I would like to agree that this is their best season to date. It's a shame the couldn't pull out the win, but Toronto is dang good and they deserve all the respect for persevering. I would have love to have seen how the Seahawks stadium would have erupted in cheers if the Mariners had won. And it's possible some Seahawks fans were next door watching the game on the big screen at TMobile park with the intention of crossing the street to watch the rest of the football game.

    Anyhow, that Kupp interception seemed to throw off the offense. Too cute. When you have Darnold and JSN turning into one of the best QB/WR combos in the game, design plays to keep feeding JSN! I think Seattle's offense is still growing into what they can be outside of the JSN Express, but I'm really pleased with the defense. They were crushing the Texans without Witherspoon and a couple other dudes. Leonard Williams is a beast.

  44. With all due respect, why does it matter if we don't put up 50 every week? Anyone that could see the game last night knew there was no chance for Houston. It's about momentum. They never had it. We won, you're just simply not giving us our flowers because we don't have to put up 30+ every week because our defense is bomb.
