Minnesota Vikings News Dump (10.21.2025) | QBs Limited, Isaiah Rodgers Responds, Greenard Get Right

[Music] What’s going on, Deromes? It’s a beautiful Tuesday. Birds are chirping and stuff and it’s time for another Vikings news dump. Actually, no birds. Birds all gone south. Yeah. And the Lions and the stupid Buccaneers just wrapped up and every sing so so the the Lions fans were were bitching and moaning about every officiating call going against the Lions. No penalties on the Chiefs last week. And then all of a sudden, oh, magically all these makeup calls. It’s like we’re watching the NBA. Just I don’t know, man. Like all all these 50/50, you know, uh, officials, second look, whatever. Whatever, man. And, you know, the ref just has the connection to Park Avenue. And so you’re they’re getting the calls from there. What’s the point of even having refs? No, just have someone in a booth in New York just officiate the game because that’s essentially what they’re doing, right? And obviously have no love loss for the Lions, but we’ll say un nice thing about the Lions. Generally, most of the time they show up ready to play, fired up, right? Whether offense, defense, whether there’s injuries, it really does not matter. I mean, Dan Campbell gets those dudes ready to play, right? And there’s very rarely the no call no show type game which will be kind of nice. Yeah. And the whole thing too is like having a football fe football team affect your mood. I catch myself sometimes because whether it’s the Vikings, whether it’s my stupid fantasy team, which is terrible by the way, whether it’s, you know, jelly beans, whether it’s what whatever, like don’t get too high, don’t get too low. And it’s so funny, like even beyond like fantasy and jelly beans and all that stuff, uh, or even like poker results, it’s the Vikings that always have the hold on me. You know, if if the Vikings get a big- time win in the entire week, sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows every player. Uh, and if they lose, not not like an angry fan, which we’ll get into angry fans after this, which should be the sequel to Only Fans, just mad people all the times. Uh, but, you know, just sort of things are going good, you’re having a good day, and then you remember, uh, oh yeah, stupid Vikings and their stupid faces. Yeah. Uh, happier faces. Margaret Rocco. So, Rocco Fish number two in the school in fundraising. Margarita, uh, her fundraising runs through, uh, the end of the week. Uh, their school is actually already crushing it. And Margaret, it’s going to be good to go. She’s climbing the ladder, leading her class, leading her grade, and we’re going to be good. So, through October 25th, all Venmo’s cash apps this week will be donated to the school fundraiser. Uh, and so their their number one prize is I I think if they get over 30K as a whole school, they like their principal has to sleep on the roof. Such a random thing. Uh, he must be an outdoor enthusiast. So there you go. Anyways, Jeromes, thank you. Roco was so happy because he he maxed out on all of his incentive gifts and it takes so little to make people happy anymore. like Rocco got a hat and a bouncy ball and he was you couldn’t tell him it like Rocco got a hat and a bouncy ball and it was like the Vikings win the Super Bowl for me. Who the man? We the man. So again, Jeromes, thank you for paying it forward. You guys are absolutely awesome. Yeah. Um so the Vikings Thursday night football. So the thing about Thursday night football, you don’t really practice. You have a couple of simulated practices. You have a couple walkthroughs. That’s really about it. But uh Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday are the practice days for Thursday Night Football and the guesstimation report for the Vikings. Uh CJ Ham, Brian O’Neal, DMP. So anal expected, you know, veteran rest day. CJ Ham does make you raise an eyebrow a bit with a hand, which I don’t know. Um well, we know that Carson went certainly didn’t hurt his hand when he completely ignored CJ Ham on the in the flat with a spider two wide banana where the fullback in the flat is the first read. He’s literally staring at a touchdown. Not that I’m bitter or anything. Yeah. Uh, also couple limited Carson Wentz left shoulder, JJ McCarthy with the ankle, Xavier Scott, Andrew Van Ginkle. You know, we’ll see about Gink. I mean, maybe the Lions game. We’ll see. Uh, but yeah, it is lining up that Carson Wentz, they’re going to tape him up and throw him out there on Thursday. All right, JJ McCarthy, is it going to be the emergency quarterback three again? Will he be the backup? lot lot of questions going on, but I don’t know, man. Like the the Lions are on buy, so the Vikings play at Detroit week nine with the Lions off a buy. Okay. Okay. Okay. Bring it on. Right. Uh for the Chargers, um not not really a lot going on other than Joe Alt, the pride of Totino Grace, uh was limited. Uh he’s been missing a a fistful of games with a high ankle sprain. So, uh we potentially could see him on Thursday night. Uh, and also, you know, talk about Thursday night Shaft, Michigan man, you know, was on the Pat McAfee show. Uh, the Vikings are on a short week and I would expect that we get Carson Wentz on Thursday night. I think JJ McCarthy could be back when they play the Detroit Lions week nine. And then also Shfter did mention something about the Ravens week 10 since the Vikings be at home. I don’t know. I don’t know. But also, these next two games are greatly going to determine how the Vikings are going to approach the rest of the year. Will there be buyers, sellers, standing pat at the trade deadline? I guess we’re going to find out. Also, it’s important to note, uh, last week, October 15th, uh, JJ McCarthy, when, uh, the media media jackals got access to the Vikings 2 starting quarterback, Carson Wentz, JJ McCarthy, uh, McCarthy did say perbang guestling, he said if it’s up to him, he’d play. So I I know there’s a bit of a bra bra bra bra bra bra bra bra bra bra bra bra bra bra bra bra bra bra bra bra brav bravado boni with players want to play three injuries and sometimes it’s very good that teams and coaches protect players from themselves but also at a certain point I mean it’s obvious that that Kevin McConnell is the one being the governor on this engine on this Porsche you making sure that the Porsche only goes 45 miles an hour on the highway. Okay. So, I don’t know, right? Like, what percentage is the ankle? You know what I mean? Is it 99.9999999999999%? Meanwhile, Carson Wentz out there. Uh, he he he’s battered. He’s double fried. He’s extra crispy. I don’t know, man. I just don’t know. Right. And at at a certain point, just like I understand the high ankle sprain is very serious, especially on the plant foot, but there’s so many players playing through injuries right now. And it does feel like Kevin Conno is babying McCarthy. And this isn’t a pain tolerance thing obviously with McCarthy because if you believe that he tore his meniscus in the first preseason game against the Raiders two years ago, then he played through it unless it literally happened on the parking lot on the way out of the game. All right. And also with the high ankle sprain, we saw that he played the fourth quarter with it. Minimum minimum, right? So this is not that thing. And also to all the conspiracy theorists, which I love a good conspiracy theory, which is weird for me. I know it’s it’s actually pretty normal for me, but I never bought into the whole soft benching or it’s a fake injury thing. It’s ridiculous. But uh you know, some some Deon question, what other high ankle sprains have resulted in six week absences? Uh Jeff Mueller, you know, physical therapist, DPT, which I’m sure is a medical thing, but sounds vaguely sexual. I So, we’ve complained about this before. there there’s a whole subset uh of Twitter where it’s doctors or reported doctors, you know, physical therapists usually focusing on fantasy football and they’ll show like a clip of an injury and like they’ll get way too in depth depth on it and speculate and that’s doesn’t help anyone, you know, and they just want clicks. They just want to be first. They just want to be whatever stuff, man. Yeah. Uh but Mueller has something great here. highlighting this because there are actual actual doctors saying that the Vikings are softbenching JJ McCarthy. Oh, I I think I know who you’re talking about. Woo. Or that his injury is fake. Stuff like high ankle sprain should only take two to four weeks, nothing longer. So, it must not be truly injury related. This pissed me off. So, let’s uh so that that’s what the fake doctors were saying. This pissed me off. So, let’s see which players have missed more than four weeks with high ankle sprains. Jimmy Garopppolo 2020 8 weeks. also had a deltoid ligament too. All right. Uh Sam Darnold 11 weeks 2022. Perhaps you heard of him. Uh Ku Herbert 5 weeks last year. Rico Dael perhaps you heard him. Uh 12 weeks in 2022. Clyde 7 weeks in 2022. Arandra Stevenson five in 2023. Kendry Miller. Kendrick Miller can’t stay healthy. Man, you feel bad for him. He he was going to have a shot because I think that they truly were going to trade Kamar at the deadline. McAffrey six. McAffrey six, Judy six, Pitman five, uh, Adonni Mitchell nine, Gallup six. Is Gallop out of the league? I I assume so. Z five. Important to remember that not all high ankle sprains are the same. And safe return to play with lower reinjury risk is actually recommended closer to 6 weeks, but a lot of teams players push it to three, four weeks. Also, as we noted, it is the right ankle, it is the plant foot that leads to mechanics, inaccuracy, and all that stuff, right? So, you know, the whole conspiracy theory of, well, it’s a fake injury. No. No. Why didn’t they put him on injured reserve? Because the Vikings already have six of their eight returning from injured reserve slots filled. Right. So, that’s why the Vikings have been very judicious about things. That’s why Andrew Van Ginkle didn’t go on IR. That’s why Jackson didn’t go on IR even though he would have been back uh a week ahead of time. But just I don’t know, man. I don’t know. Uh, also we will say this, this has nothing to do with anything. Just putting it out there. Uh, Lindval Joseph got shot in 2014 and did not miss a game. Cuz remember, it’s kind of a scary situation. Lynball was out with a couple teammates and I think it was at a bar that’s closed down now. Stray gunfire. Got hit in the calf. It’s in August, early August. And he did not miss a game of the 2014 season. And I believe, yeah, Lynville was a free agent that year. Came over from the Giants, won a Super Bowl, by the way. And you know, he was one of Zimmer’s first stud picks for stud free agent pickups, right? So, not saying, I’m just saying. Also, like we alluded to, the Vikings had so many red zone issues and some of them are Brandle related, some of them are Wentz just couldn’t hit Addison if it’s ridiculous, man. But this this one is the worst, right? Because Spider 2 wide banana, you know, when John Grun introduced that to the public lexicon 10 years ago, everyone knows that the fullback is the first read. And Andrew, as Andrew Lux said, you can’t go broke taking a profit. And h CJ Ham was wide open with an easy touchdown. Vikings end up settling for three because Carson Wentz, who is staring directly at CJ Ham wide open, decided to scramble and gamble around and then just throw the ball like a pair of dice like he’s at Caesar’s Palace or something. Come on, 11. Yo, 11 just, you know, Carson Wentz has had some great throws, but um there’s like a whole Tik Tok compilation of his low lightss. It’s like two minutes long just from the Eagles game where there there’s so many frustrating boneheaded plays and bad ball placement and mechanics all over the place where what are we doing? Speaking of what are we doing? So, as we talked about yesterday, Isaiah Rogers, uh, he did not have a good game, right? Uh, he against the Bengals, he had one of the best defensive back games in athlete history. Uh, he did not have a good game against the Eagles, you know, giving up 150 yards receiving, touchdown, just not good, right? Uh, and Rogers, you know, he posted some screenshots of DMs that he got that were not uh, constructive. In fact, pretty terrible. Yeah. And it’s really sad to say, but this is probably pretty common. And it’s all they’re never like true fans, you know, because I feel like true fans can, you know, praise the players when they’re up. Um, try to hype them up when they’re down. Constructive criticism, I feel like that’s all fair. But getting into like hateful, vitriolic territory, n and it’s always like the drunk idiot who had a $5 parlay, you know what I mean? Yeah. Isaiah Rogers Senior, but he commented, “Racism is real. Keep football. That’s not even the worst I’ve seen. Stay solid or stay silent fans.” Fake applause, no support. Or faithful and never switching. He had that one chambered. I mean, no one just comes up with that spontaneously, right? Pick a side and stay on it, which is fair. Yeah. And the Vikings released a statement on on the issue as well. Statement from the Minnesota Vikings. We are disgusted by the racial slurs directed at Isaiah Rogers following yesterday’s game. As we have said previously, there simply is no room for racist words or actions in sports or society. We support Isaiah and all players who unfortunately experience this type of ignorant and prejuditial behavior far too often. And we ask our fans to continue to fight to eliminate racism. What Roger should do is all the idiots who sent him like really hateful vitrial hell all players submit to the league, submit to the FBI, identify the fans and ban them for life. That’s what it should come down to, right? Should be pretty easy, right? But yeah, it’s Yeah, we talked about how, you know, our mood is dictated by this. It never gets that far, right? As we said, I feel like most fans are like this, but all fan bases are like a bell curve. You got your hardcore supporters, you got basically us and everyone else, and then you got the the nut jobs, right? And the nut jobs aren’t fans. I’m just going to say that, right? Because as frustrated as everyone was like there there’s a pretty thick line of demarcation that you don’t cross, you know. Yeah. Back to football. Yeah. Uh speaking of a line that you should cross is that the Chargers offensive line. Hey Justin, we after that ass man. All right. So guilty as charged podcast, which is a great name. Hopefully they continue to put out a podcast even when the team is losing. Uh like unlike the Panthers, which I think the Panthers are undefeated since the podcast quit. It’s kind of funny, man. Chargers pressures. Wait, if the Vikings were guaranteed to win out the rest of the season and playoffs and Super Bowl, would I quit? Yes, I quit yesterday, man. Uh, pressures allowed versus the Colts. Austin Doulis, who’s also in the Port Seven with a sack and three hits. Uh, Mai Beckton, seven with two hits. Uh, ooh, so it’s like spin doctor. Mai Beckton with the two hits. Spin doctors, two princes, and little miss. Little miss can’t be wrong. Then the lead singer got ricketetts. You know how malnourished you have to be in America to get rickets? But Zion Johnson four uh one sack, two hits. Bradley Boseman, uh two pressures and a sack. Bobby hat Bobby Hartstone in the league, two pressures. Uh Gatson, tight end, one. Vidal, the running back, one. For Sell, one. So 25 total pressures. Uh I think it was like 43.1% pressure. Bring it. All right. So, we say all this because it’s yum yum time. It’s yum yum time. And a lot a lot of Vikings fans have voiced frustration with Jonathan Gernard. He’s only got one sack on the season, but as we pointed out, pressures matter more than sacks. And how many sacks has Gernard set up? How many incompletions or eron passes downfield has Grard set up? A lot, right? And it just feels like it’s a matter of time because the sacks are coming. I I I honestly feel like a three and a half sack game is in the offing. Three and a half, four sack. Let’s go. Let’s go, man. Opposite of let’s go. So, Sher uh Falcons head coach Raheem Morris told reporters that Michael Pennix has a bone bruise in his foot that now will leave him daytoday. OR and the Falcons already had their buy. So, this is the whole, hey, my guy played terrible, so now we’re going to bench him. This is in the actual version of what people thought that was happening with JJ McCarthy. This is a soft benching, right? Michael Pennix Jr. Pennix Mer is going to shrivel up to the bench and then you got Kurt Cousins which all right. So this screen grab is from when they’re asking the Falcons players like uh you what’s your favorite meal? I think it was what your favorite meal. It’s not what would be your last meal because that’s a little bit too morbid. And all the players are saying something like something that was home-cooked, you know, something done by mom or grandma, something that just felt like hot or wings because everyone loves wings. Bone in. By the way, get the lemon pepper. And yeah, and then Kurt just comes in flameon. Probably well done, too. a as we I’m too lazy to bring up the graphic, but everyone knows the the kidney the human pieces on the grill shot from when Kurt was a free agent. So, I don’t know. I don’t know what we accomplished today, but I for one am having a great day because we’re back on this horse. No time to cry in the breast milk 24-hour rule. We are back, baby. We’re going to whoop the Chargers ass. Justin Herbert, the ferulent 2020 Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year. He wasn’t even the best Justin rookie that year, but it’s okay. Anyways, that said, let us know your thoughts, our thoughts, comment section. You guys are the best node to do skull production value.

  1. Fans are so emotional… Wentz is the king after his performance against the Browns, now magically he is the "worst" and "i am done seeing him"… was he great the other day? No. But he was far from at fault for that. He legitimately should've had 3 TDs, between the nailor td getting called back, JJ admitting he dropped the one pass he shouldve caught for a TD, and the horrid overturn of the TJ touchdown… people also fail to mention how whenever the Eagles needed a big play, the defense willingly allowed it… EX: 3 and 9 at the end of the game, gave up a huge play to AJ brown once again… I still believe the Vikings can make the playoffs and win with Wentz, and that he gives this team a better chance than JJM. If he responds well this thursday against the chargers, I guarantee you see fans quickly revert to saying they should "stick with Wentz over McCarthy"

  2. It really does feel at this point KOC is hiding JJ. There’s no way KOC saw how wentz played against the eagles “a team btw he had every reason to want to beat” and KOC is like yea roll him out again for the chargers game.
This is not our SB year. This is the year where we find out if JJ is the guy or not. Play him every week going forward and see what our future looks like.

  3. This roster is mostly built thru free agency. The majority of the really good teams are able to build thru the draft. Unfortunately, we have a clueless GM who doesn't know a thing about drafting. I also think our scouting team is just as bad at evaluating talent. This team is slow on the outside and backfield. This team is light on both sides of the trenches. They never should've drafted McCarthy or Turner in the first round. I thought that Verse (Rams) was the better player, and it's showing. Turner has no bend or explosiveness. I like KOC and Flores. But the personell on the field is holding them back. McCarthy reminds me of Zack Wison. Destined to be a backup. They never should've drafted him, because he wasn't that great at Michigan. He's nothing but a game manager.

  4. I did not watch the most recent game, but I saw that Hurts had a perfect rating. Maybe Wentz is not the problem or only a part of the problem. It is a team game, and I think the Lions proved last night the it is a team game. Man, I enjoyed watching the way the Lions played together. I remember a time a decade ago and more when Detroit fans would immediately boo if only one play failed. I blame the old Detroit fans for problems the Lions used to have. But now the Lions have turned the corner, and they have handed the "bad fans" label to the Vikings. Good luck with that.

  5. Wentz is far from perfect but at least the offense gains yards with him at quarterback. JJ McCarthy is 3 & out most of the time. Guarantee no one on that team wants to sacrifice the season just to see what JJ has. They want whoever gives them the best chance to win playing. Smarter play calling to get the ball out of Wentz’s hands sooner would go a long way, but he also does need to be quicker at making decisions where to go with the football. Daniel Jones wasn’t sticking around to be our backup when he could start somewhere else. Darnold would be our quarterback this season if he didn’t choke at the end of last season. Also McCarthy should’ve played more in preseason to get him acclimated to the speed of the game after sitting out a year.

  6. Tranquilo tranquilo tranquilo…sadly except when it comes to our beloved Vikings!
They got into my DNA in the 70’s as a very young kid & it’s been a roller coaster of emotions since!
    Skol

  7. IMO we still haven’t seen the Vikings team we were all so hyped to see this year. Injuries have decimated us physically and mentally. I still have some hope that JJ can get the reps he needs this season, hopefully with a decent Offensive Line. Probably not our year but we have plenty of football left. Stop and consider the fact that we are blessed as individuals, a beautiful state and a nation! SKOL VIKINGS 👊🏻😈🇺🇸

  8. I’ve always had the understanding. “If I can’t go out and do it, at a higher level then the player.” I have no room to speak ill of anyone in the NFL. Therefore. I can’t talk ish about anyone in the league.

  9. Let's go Blue Jays! 👍😎👍..and now, four more thoughts for what they're worth..lol
    1. Excellent points re officiating, as well as the Lions' high level of preparation & motivation.
    2. Re the blown 'banana play'…I wonder if Wentz couldn't see Hamm clearly, and given what had happened, he just didn't trust himself to make the right decision.
    3. Jeff Mueller's post was fantastic! Nothing like shoving inconvenient facts in the faces of those who comment of a very weighty topics, but are not true experts, and/or don't do thorough research, and/or suffer from Dunning-Kruger Syndrome! lol
    4. Re Linval Joseph… His calf muscles were/are massive, so the bullet just did damage in muscle tissue. Evidently the bullet did not hit too many major blood vessels, or bone, or other slower-healing tissue (muscle tissue heals much faster than ligaments, tendons, bones, nerve tissue..)

  10. Darnold missed a wide open Aaron jones last year week 7 against Vikings. He also threw an int that game. Let’s not FULLY blame this on Wentz considering he’s injured out there, though I agree he somewhat sold the game. Maybe if we tried to run the ball more than like 3 times all game then we could have found the end zone more.

  11. The Rodger’s slurs are terrible. Inexcusable. Social media is where devils hang out. A sociopaths wet dream. I imagine Andy gets his fair share of idiotic comments. I bet Wentz did as well. .

  12. What happens when we lose these next two games? Flores moved to head coach ? Darnold should have been paid and stayed. JJ is pretty much 1 1/2 seasons behind.

  13. I disagree about the Lions. They didn’t show up for the playoffs last year nor did they show up vs the Packers in game one or vs the Chiefs last week. They have a lot of rah-rah bs going but they are just as inconsistent as any other team in the NFL

  14. I’m sorry but a minimal injury from a gun shot wound to the calf is nothing compared to a high ankle sprain. A soft tissue injury just requires tolerating some pain but a high ankle sprain can result in greatly increasing the severity of the injury

  15. Would be classier for Isaiah to just take a bad game without making himself a victim by giving life to things that don't even need to be acknowledged and stoking division that doesn't need to be stoked. It's like pretending to be hurt after a bad play.

  16. Only reasons why I’ve been frustrated a little is I wouldn’t mind McCarthy having this record if it was just him the whole time . Meaning he has to get the flow of game experience does that
