He doesn’t get to play the young card. He’s 25. Same age as Pitts and Pitts is on his 5th year option… he’s not young enough to believe there is room for much growth. He’s too broken to be as mobile as people wanted to believe he was. He’s inaccurate and can’t read defenses. The plays and scheme need to be spoon fed and perfect for him to make the right decision. Lastly, he just has terrible instincts… clean pocket? Rushes a pass. Rolls out and should run? Forces pass… big play downs? Crumbles…
Personally, I’ve seen enough to know that he’s a decent QB but he is not great. I don’t see us having a winning season with him at the helm.
He is our quarterback but there are real concerns, specifically his processing and inability to get the ball to the middle of the field and his pocket presence, the middle of the field part I know is not 100% a scheme issue because Kirk did it last year before he fell apart, also he is a complete statue.
I know he isn’t a mobile QB, week 1 was a complete anamoly but his pocket presence is troubling, he is a complete statue, he doesn’t step up he doesn’t evade defenders or anything. I think he wants to play like how he did at Washington and just throw sideline shots to Odunze and Polk but have it be London and Mooney but that doesn’t work in the NFL.
I was highly optimistic about him but it’s quickly fading. Especially after I watched him from the very front row at the game on Sunday night. He is so lost out there and can’t move to save his life. I was hoping that drafting a first round QB would give us just the slightest bit of a player who can improvise and make plays when things break down up front. Instead, we drafted the left handed Kirk Cousins who makes God awful decisions as soon as his first read isn’t there and now a defender is coming at him. It’s extremely concerning and the arrogance of the organization is going to ensure he starts his entire rookie contract and probably extend him even if this level of play continues. I’m still hopeful but it looks bleak

He straight up ran sideways out of bounds 2 times on crucial 3rd downs when he had 5 yards open in front of him for a first down Bc he was scared of taking the hit.
He then decides to throw it into the ground on another crucial 3rd down play
And proceeds to throw the ball to end the half for an intentional grounding and loss of downs with 10 seconds left on the clock and us at their 20 yard line.
This ending the half and having nothing to show for it
I’ll be honest, his injuries in college really fucked him I think in terms of presence in the pocket
I mean…yeah
We literally went thru this 3 weeks ago after the panthers game. Everyone was acting like they were done with him and then they loved him after the Commies and Bills games. He has issues but our fans make it so much worse by flipping flopping between him being a bust or star every week
Idc who it is. We could have cam newton with his stupid hats come get us a win and I’d be happy. But right now I haven’t been happy 🥲
I mean people ready to move on are being hasty BUT people telling us not to panic are being delusional, he’s not showing sparks of something greater and he’s quickly slotting somewhere in the bottom half of the league. Unluckily for him he’s also 25 so “he’s just a boiiiii let him develop” takes aren’t really the move either. He just hasn’t done enough to silence haters, end of story.
Regardless since we don’t have this year’s pick we’re riding with him at least another year and people need to accept that fate, and hope for him to improve enough to justify his continued QBing. This being the Falcons, your greatest fear should be him being something like 16th-best but we do just well enough to keep him around forever, as Blank always wants to do at the slightest excuse. Something like beating the Aints consistently and a wild card round here and there.
Couldn’t be me. It’s his first year starting the whole season. Way too early to give up on him.

If I were a Falcon, making millions of dollars, then he’d be my quarterback. I’d defend him on and off the field. But I’m just a fan. When players aren’t playing as well as they should, there’s nothing wrong with saying so and that it would be better if they did play well. That’s pretty basic for being a fan of something; that it’s good. I’m so weirded out by all the simping like y’all are his family or teammates. I’m a Falcons fan. I’m tired of the Falcons sucking. If you want to be their ride or die B then be that. But don’t get all pissy when others criticize your man
