Los Angeles Kings at St. Louis Blues | FULL Overtime Highlights – October 21, 2025
And for the first time this season, Curbs, we got some fun three on three hot. Yep. The Kings going to the overtime for the fourth time. They’re 0 and one and three on three. They’ve gone to a shootout twice. [Music] Blues go into overtime for the first time this season. Big faceoff win there by Robert Thomas. Here comes Bush Davis. Look out. Bavic near wing in. Shoots way to the goal. Boy, the seas just parted for Pavo Bush Navage. There was a missing assignment right there on the LA Kings. He almost defended it by field to the near wing. Wheels that one to the line. Kings don’t enter. Dow is going to drop back with it. Thomas puts Navic in Fowler. By field to the bench. Kempe coming on for LA. Dowy and FIA stay out. They wheel it ahead now. Dowy to the bench. Fia is going to go as well. Kemp is going to enter the zone. Two new kings onto the ice. Dumalin and Leferier. Leferier has the goal. had it go off his glove and then in behind the net. Two blues on it, but they couldn’t win the puck back. Dumalin gets it out high to Kempe. [Applause] Kemp is going to back it up out of the zone. Oh, now the rope do the Blues here. Blues are starting to look a little tired. Barrier on the near side at the hash marks. Been out there for over a minute. These three in overtime. Kemp to Leier. One game. They pass it out of the zone. Drop it back. Dumalin is there. This is the rule change I’d love to see the NHL make. You can’t back it up beyond the red line. Here on the near side, Guzmano walks it in and he draws a penalty from Butch Navich. So LA is going to get an overtime power play. Pavo Butch Navage to the box for a hook. The Blues to the penalty kill for the third time. St. Louis 89 hooking. Well, you can see BC Navage. He’s sucking win. He’s been out there for a minute 26. Here’s the opening draw. He takes it to the backand right off the draw. He just moves around down. He just can’t sneak it in over the left pad. But this is when you’re tired. You can’t move your feet as well. He stops moving his feet, gets the stick in there and Kusmeo Bennington makes the blocker save. And so now we’re going to see four on three hockey. That’s how it is here in overtime. You take a penalty. It’s not threeon two. They end up shifting it to a fouron three with one of your best killers down in Buchavich in the penalty box. So they’re going with Pew Sudter. Colton Praco and Philip Brober. We’re going to have a time going to tell you. I think the Blues took the time out here. Yeah. Well, keep in mind, too, they they may want to get Cam Fowler a little bit extra rest here. Also, they’re going to talk it over. Now, the Curves, this isn’t this isn’t a situation you practice very often, you know, with the condensed schedule this season. Mike Weber right there. He’s trying to go over some nuts and bolts because you don’t practice a ton right now. You’re just coming off the preeason. The season’s very early. You work on five on four. You work on five on three. But a fouron-ree situation you just don’t work on all that often. I can promise you one thing. Mike Weber is talking through with Pew Sudter. They’re talking about the one-time threat. Where’s the one-time threat? We got to protect that. You got to protect the middle of the ice. Don’t go running outside the middle. You got to stay content being in between the hash marks on top the blue paint. You only hustle and you reach out when it’s bottled or contested puck. So very important right here. And that’s one of the other reasons why that Robert Thomas right there. That’s one of the reasons why you call timeout too because remember he was just out there for a minute 26. Yeah. So now they’re going to put him back out there. He got a chance to regroup. That was the main reason they took that timeout. He won the opening draw face off to see if he’s got one more in. Blues have earned a point. looking to get the second one. They’re going to need a big kill to do it or a short-handed goal. Diala putting the pressure on by Thomas, but the Kings get it in. Kemp sets it up. They go to the goal line. Clark to Kee near wing. Fia. Back to Kee. Thomas Broberg and Paro. Killing for the Blues on the penalty kill from Bfield to Fial and now to Kee. One touch back to Fia. Far side. Kemp shoots and scores. They put it in and the St. Louis Blues fall in overtime. A power play goal by the Kings, spoiling a bit of a stellar performance by Jordan Bennington. Well, there is Adrien Kempe, who was relatively quiet in this game. And we talked about how Mike Weber was looking for one-times. You have to watch the one-time. And Adrien Kempe with the left-handed shot. He is the guy that opens up off some great passing up top for the LA Kings. That’s your Hyundai player of the game. And here is another look at the overtime game winner for the LA Kings. Again, in the Dzone, Robert Thomas is working on FIA and Kempe. Look at the exchange. Three solid passes. Bang, bang, bang. And then you got Quinton Biffield right at the cage there. He does not get a piece of it, but certainly in Bennington’s face. And then Adrien Kempe with the celebration and the two points for the LA Kings.
