Back to square one… | Buffalo Sabres vs. Montreal Canadiens
[Music] Oh my god. Hello everybody. Welcome back to Pucks Smart. You know, I spent last video talking about exactly what we should be doing as a team and exactly what we can do. And let’s just throw it. Just I don’t Basically what we just did we [ __ ] rolled it up and threw it away. Feel like every time I have a second to praise this team it is immediately just and disregarded. It’s just disregarded. It does just doesn’t [ __ ] matter. No matter what I say to this team, no matter what I say about this team, we just end up failing miserably. This is a team we can 100% beat. If we were playing the way we were playing against Ottawa and Florida, this would have been like nine to zero. But no, we have to look like stupid idiots out there. We have to look like [ __ ] dumb asses. We could not break through their defense. We turned over the puck a million [ __ ] times. We gave them way too many chances. Way too many. And you know what? I’m going to blame Owen Power because he really was to blame for that first goal. He literally just gave it right to him again. Like like I said in the last video, we need consistency and being consistent is important, but we’re losing these these games that are gonna we’re gonna need to have one when we get to May. It’s just consistent disappointment. That’s what it is. See, we can be consistent at being disappointing cuz we can be an amazing team one night or two nights. We were amazing team for two nights and then now we’re just looking like we did the first two games. I don’t think we try. I don’t I don’t know why we didn’t try. Darlene, I got a glimpse of the interview afterward and he’s like, “That’s how we want to play hockey. That’s how we want to present ourselves.” Then what the [ __ ] was this? To be fair, that team was pretty quick. That team broke through us pretty well, but that’s a like we we did great with Florida. That’s what I don’t understand is we can look is we can we can literally play amazing against one team and then the next night it’s just over. I don’t Every single year, every single team, no matter how much the roster changes, it’s the same. It’s the same. It’s the exact same thing. I genuinely think Owen Power should be put in the press box. I genuinely think we should scratch him. Like at this rate, like he’s he’s a pylon. A I think a pylon again. I think the baby Where’s the baby? Get the the baby the the baby here would be way better than Owen Power. Just so disappointing. And in Wednesday we play the [ __ ] uh Red Wings. So, if we can’t do good against a Canadian team who, yeah, is doing good right now, but the Red Wings and the Canadians are both at the top of the standings and we can’t beat them. If we beat them, we would have been above, we would have been tied with Florida. We would have been in in points at least. We would have been tied with Florida. We would have been tied with Boston. Just just constant disappointment from this team. I don’t know. I don’t want to be negative every time we lose, but I’m also negative when we win. So, like every game Owen Power still looks the exact same, and he’s still not [ __ ] scratched. Get that guy out of here. But yeah, hopefully we can just lock in for the game against Detroit. Like if we play again every away game like this, we’re going to suck. We’re It’s going to be We’re We’re going to be like zero on the on the road. I don’t even know how many road games we play this season. It’s just It’s just so bad. We need effort. It’s not what you like to see. But uh yeah. My biggest takeaway is that our top guys need to show up and force a game like that into OT. No reason not to at least get one point. For me it starts with Tage but Dahlin was also at times just not in the fight.
Don't take it too hard, you guys put up a good game, we're just kind of on a solid growth trajectory right now. We saw flashes of what won those games against Florida and Ottawa, there just needs to be belief that the team can replicate it. Also we had Dobes in nets. It was kind of going to be an uphill battle for you from the start (although Lyon was very impressive)

When it was 1-1 MTL was so bad in the second period Buff could have taken the lead.Buffalo has very low scoring IQ players and their defense is pretty bad.I never much watch the Sabres but since they were playing the habs I got to see them in action.
I never thought their D was that bad but is they should have held on to Reinhart and Eichel and not hang on to Power he was trade bait at one time now he is worth very little.If I was Buffalo I would go after the Habs D they have lots imo Engrstrom should be in the NHL he is rotting in Laval and maybe Struble or Reinbacher can be had as well albeit Reinbacher is a big injury risk.
Calgary already seems to not be high on Parehk I would inquire about him as well.
Management needs to be very active seeking D help look at Chicago they are a better more competitive team this year because they put together a nice D core.
My guy… buffalo looks 10x better this season compared to last. Be optimistic
Havs fan here really do feel.bad fir the Buffalo fan base.Unlike so many American teams Buffalo really is a hockey town.Probably Captain obvious here but the GM needs to go.
Buffalo played well. Montreal's goaltender is hot right now. Buffalo dominated the 2nd period and held Montreal to 4 shots while getting a lot of good chances. Sabres have a lot of early season injuries but seem to be adjusting. A 1pt loss plus the empty netter is a close game.
Montreal is a fast team. Florida is a slow team. Fast teams expose slower teams on transitions. Florida makes up for this by being bruising and wearing teams down.
Good luck to you guys, you deserve more for living through this endless rebuild.
You can`t really believe that the Sabres are a better team then the Canadiens.
9-0 lol this is why Buffalo is so bad, the believe they are way better then they really are. Don't even get me going on team culture. Look at how Florida is playing and how Montreal is playing.
