  1. We live in a “I want results immediately” world when it comes to sports. If you look at the current top tier QBs in the league, I would challenge anyone to make an argument that they came into the league and were immediately a star. Look at guys like Dak, Daniel Jones, Herbert. Heck even Mahomes sat on the bench his first year and just absorbed information.

I think it is much more fair to criticize the coaching and play calling because those guys have been doing it for a long time.

  2. Is this post pertaining to the team in general or a specific player cause either way there’s no such as overreacting. It’s been 6 games and we run the same exact plays every damn week in pistol, are young rookie Qb hasn’t showed no signs that he’s worth that 8th pick we spent on him, so yeah there’s no overreacting and I’m reacting pretty normal

  3. this won’t get as much pub as it should here, because there’s wayyyy to mann mfers that are miserable AF on this sub. Every single play is scrutinized from all the 50 million arm chair QBs, and offensive, and defensive gurus we have on this sub its a hard read.

I’m not saying the team shouldn’t be criticized but there’s a problem when dude are on here saying the same thing over and over again, just using different sentences. YES we should be better on offense. I get it. But going thru why ZR should be fired, how he should be fired, to firing Morris, to why haven’t we fired Morris… the self loathing is unbearable at times. I choose to be here though bc we all want the same thing, a Superbowl. HOWEVER, some of you seem to want this thing to burn to the ground, no matter how the team plays.

Rise up, and thanks for the positive different perspective posted, OP.

  4. It’s easy to take out frustrations on the guy who’s touching the ball on every offensive snap. There’s way more factors at play and I think and hope that it’s actually a small percentage of our fans that are out on Penix.

Ofc he has plenty to improve on we’ve just become impatient as the hype is bigger than ever and this is a make or break year for the regime. It is incredibly frustrating to come out and look no better than the offense was under Desmond Ridder, but we really haven’t seen even close to enough of Penix to make that judgement yet.

  5. Every since there was a rookie wage scale introduced it’s become too easy for teams to be tempted to try another QB in the draft. Ryan was part of the mega contracts and for better or worse you were gonna ride those out

  6. I mean it’s to be expected and I don’t feel bad for these guys. Those expectations are directly related to that 1st round contract money. If you’re getting paid that much it’s not just on the coaching staff to develop your game, it’s on you to be grinding in the off season.

Part of the blame is also on the media for running story after story and setting high expectations for the fan bases also.

  7. I think too many people bought the hype of the offense in the offseason and we havent gotten that which sucks given that the defense is ahead of schedule. The reactions are a direct result of having expectations too high, but frankly the Falcons themselves promoted the idea that offense was going to look like the Panthers game last year and set those expectations and havent lived up to them.

Im not out on Penix but I do question whether the current coaching staff is going to be able to develop him and get the most out of him.

  8. Yeah majority of the young QBs make mistakes and look flawed while also showing flashes. Penix has both, but you can’t expect immediate change and growth overnight. I note and have my critiques, but I’m not worried yet. I’ll be worried next season if all those same flaws are still consistent and show no improvement. It’s called development for a reason.

To add another example look how people hated on Ruke and turns out in year two guy is phenomenal in the pass rush. He’s young and he still has can improve in, and likely will improve in.

  9. I don’t want Penix gone. My concern is do we have the right people to develop him. Go look at his footwork and mechanics etc… Sometimes he throws from some odd stances. I remember when Kyle and crew came over and changed Matt’s mechanics… He went on to be even better. Like imagine he had that level of coaching earlier in his career???
