Leafs game times move to accommodate the Blue Jays World Series run !!!

  1. Be surprised if anyone is paying attention to the leafs right now anyways, and it’s of their own design. If the players clearly don’t care about the game they are playing, I sure am not about to

  2. Leafs should change the start times to be the same as the Jays the way they are playing right now.

  3. For some reason I was initially under the impression there had to be 23 hours minimum between game start times. No clue why I thought that. Turns out it’s 20 hours (according to the AI blurb that pops up on Google, so grain of salt I guess)

  4. I’d be willing to bet there are quite a few execs who are concerned about the Leafs viewership dating back to pre-season.

Pretty bad combination of factors here. First being that this is the first season in about a decade that the Leafs are expected to be worse than they were the year before. Second being that this team has pretty much lost all benefit of the doubt, and people are finally getting sick of it. And then probably most importantly, the Jays are showing people that Toronto sports teams are not necessarily cursed, and it is possible to have a competitive sports team that is actually likeable.

I know that the World Series is a huge deal, but back in the day, the idea of shifting a Leafs game start time to accommodate the Jays would have been laughed at. I’ve never followed the Leafs less than this season.

    Let’s fucking go Jays

  5. Right there with you. I was at the home opener and everyone was just watching the jays on their phones or in the hallway on the TVs.

  6. does anyone know if they’ll play the Jays game on the jumbotron after the game and let people stay?

Edit: guess I missed the bottom of the image. Does anyone know if concessions are still open during that time?

  7. The Leafs haven’t provided a reason to watch their games yet …the Jays being on is just another reason *not* to watch Leafs games

  8. Last time the Jays were in the World Series the Leafs went on a 10-0 run to start the season. Very different this time

  9. Gotta say, I hate that “we’re creating a magical Toronto sports day for you with all our teams” posts because it’s just ripe for everybody to catch L’s together.
