I still can’t believe we got JSN at Pick 20

  1. Like an elite Ohio State WR from Brian Hartline’s tutelage, THE best WR coach in college football being available at Pick 20.

Teams tried to talk themselves down from Smith-Njigba’s slot role in the pros and his injury concerns but JSN’s proved those doubters wrong, more and more.

  2. he also isn’t a diva which adds massively to the locker room harmony. That was a franchise changing draft for us. Spoon, JSN, Charb, and Hall in the first two rounds.

  3. His refusal to play through an injury his last year probably ruffled a few oldheads the wrong way. In a pre-NIL world, it was a smart decision.

It’s still crazy that Wilson and Olave were justifiably top 10 picks, but the guy who was younger than both of them and lapped them in receiving yards in the same offense their last year playing wasn’t, though.

  4. I was so happy with this pick on draft night and it’s better than I could’ve ever hoped for. After this year I really think JSN will have serious case for best wide receiver in football

  5. I confess that I wanted us to pick Zay Flowers at 20 and was slightly disappointed at the time. Shows what I know

  6. The whole slot narrative around JSN is why he was able to go under the radar like this. It was continued even until this season by “experts” and analysts, even though it was evident since his rookie year he could make plays all over the field. Like that game winner against Philly his rookie season and the game against the Rams when DK was out proved he was an all around good WR. NFL experts become clowns when talking about the Seahawks, they are desperate to delegitimize us until they have no other choice.

  7. If I remember correctly besides the high prospect QB it was a big class for OT and defensive players and many team prioritize them that year. Seahawks got to pick the first WR of that draft class

I also remember Tom Grossi wanting Green Bay to take JSN

  8. He’s doing this while defenses know he’s getting the ball. We need another receiver to draw attention off him.

  9. unfortunate that we wasted his first and some of his second year though. But this year and next year I would think we can be contenders with the recent draft picks and rookie contracts.

  10. Rams got Puka at 177. Lions got St Brown at 112. Impact WRs can be found later in the draft. Hopefully Horton can eventually join that group.

  11. There was concern by many that JSN was too slow to be elite outside of the slot, this wasn’t aided by the fact he didn’t run the 40 at the combine.

Speed is such an overrated factor for WRs it’s unbelievable.

  12. Really happy we picked up JSN but its the 20th pick of the draft, not even all the teams have picked yet. It’s not like we got him in the 7th or something.

  13. I remember that JSN was the first WR to be drafted, and the three teams immediately after us all drafted WRs.
