  1. Where were they before the Raiders?

It’s not unearned, but I think it deserves a bigger asterisks than the offense gets against the Ravens.

(Sort of like the Colts beating up on the Titans and Raiders, or PM15 not playing in the 4th).

Edit: downvotes? defensive? I don’t get it, but also don’t care beyond adding this edit.

  2. I’m not a big total yards guy when it comes to stats, but there are some really good advanced stats for the Chiefs this season.

By EPA, the Chiefs are a top 3 offense and top 5 passing offense (better if you just look at week 4 onward) and a top 10 defense. By DVOA, they are a top 5 offense and a top 15ish defense.

In points per drive, the Chiefs are #2 to Indianapolis on the season, and they are #1 from week 4 on. Astoundingly, their points per drive from the last four games is higher than their 2018 season, which is the 3rd best season for PPD in modern NFL history. If extended to a full season, the Chiefs offense from the last four weeks would be the best offense in PPD in modern NFL history.

So yeah, team is doing pretty good.

  3. Our D-line is really bad – definitely the weak spot of our team. But I think our offense being good might help. If we run up the score board, teams will be forced to throw the ball. It makes them more predictable and makes it easier for us to rush the passer. Our secondary is pretty good, so they should be able to cover for a bit. I think this is partially why we did so well agains the Ravens and the Lions. They had to go away from their run game because we were scoring so many points. Our linebackers are also pretty good against the run.

  4. Chiefs defense is tied for 2nd with the Rams with 16.7 points allowed per game.

They’re 6th in points scored per game (26.6). But in the last 3 weeks as Worthy and Rice returned, they were number 4 (29.7).

  5. When you remove the LV game what does that defense look like? Just out of curiosity – I mean the stats from that game were insane.

  6. I’ve seen them ranked as low as #8 on a power rankings list already

I think I’m not even mad anymore, now it’s just funny watching the inevitable dawn ever so slowly on everyone who wanted so badly for the Chiefs to be done
