[Passan] Tennessee baseball coach Tony Vitello is finalizing a deal to become the next manager of the San Francisco Giants, sources tell ESPN. Vitello, 47, will be the first ever to jump from college coach to MLB manager without any professional experience.

    You will absolutely love Tony. I’m a Tennessee fan and there hasn’t been anyone associated with Tennessee sports that I’ve enjoyed more in my 40 years than him.

32. I love this. Vitello has proven that he knows how to build a winning culture and motivate players. People are concerned about how veterans will respect someone who doesn’t have any MLB experience as a player or coach, but if Buster fucking Posey respects him, I don’t know who wouldn’t.
