Minnesota Vikings vs Los Angeles Chargers | Week 8 Game Preview
Got two teams lined up on the blocks looking for a rebound. Not much time to lick their wounds. LA Chargers at home again, this time on a Thursday have lost three of their last four hosting the Minnesota Vikings who continue playing pingpong with their wins and losses. Throws on the move. Got Hawinson. Touchdown. We’re reviewing the play. The receiver lost possession when he hit the ground. It’s an 82 pass. Karen called in and voila. Vikings are back at the 500 mark. have to channel their inner alpaccino and forget about it. Both squads have guys who put up numbers in their losses last week. Justin Herbert, for example, 420 yards passing, three touchdowns. Herbert steps up. Herbert throwing on the move. Catch, turn, touchdown. Carson went for 313 yards against Philadelphia. Jordan Addison hauled in 128 of them. He’s popped off for 110 plus in two of his three games. and Wentz takes a shot for Jordan Addison. Justin Jefferson put up 79 versus Philly. At least 75 yards in each of his last five games. Slings it for Jefferson off the back foot in space. Let him make a play. Justin Jefferson still going. But hey, how about LA’s rookie tight end Gadson hitting week eight off a 164 yd performance. He scored two back-to-back games with seven catches and 68 plus yards. Herbert delivers downfield. The catch is made by Gatston. And Gatston with a flag down continues to take it downfield. Keenan Allen rolls in off a 119yd game, a season high. Found per time this year. Avoids the sack, throws for the touchdown. Keenan Allen, that is a special connection. Lad McConi caught nine passes last week, 67 yards, seven plus catches backtoback weeks. The throw from Herbert. The catch for Maki. Bolts offense eight for 16 on third down. Three for four in the red zone. Chargers 24 points. Not bad, but not enough of them when the game was close. They’re only averaging 21 a game for the year. Herbert threw two INTs. Has four picks in four of their last five games. They are dead last in the red zone right now. Herbert pump knocked up in the air. Who’s got it? The Colts do. Big man pick. Minnesota’s offensive woes tied to an inability to move the chains 30th on third down this season. Wentz hurting them last week with no touchdowns and two INTs combined with the invisible zebra that stepped in left them with 22 points versus the Eagles. Intercepted. There goes Jix Hunt. House call Philadelphia. Neither team’s rush attack showed up week seven. Chargers just 54 yards. Herbert had 31 of those two. Only 16 attempts total as they had to ditch it after getting down big early. Vikings Jordan Mason crossed the goal line at least. Can he win the race there? He looked to be short. Oh, he broke the plane. Wow, he broke the plane for the touchdown. Mason just 3.8 a run, 57 yds. Vikings with only 89 ground yards. Chargers play against the run represents opportunity though. Gave up three touchdowns to Jonathan Taylor. 94 yards on 5.9 a carry, giving up 5.1 a run for 2025. Only a few teams allowing five plus. It’s Taylor on the acceleration. Touchdown. Stopping runners wasn’t Minnesota’s problem on defense in their loss to Philadelphia. Held Squan to 2.4 a carry. Philadelphia to just 45 rush yards. But Herbert’s looking at a secondary that gave up a perfect 158.3 rating to Jaylen Herz. 19 of 23 passing, 326 yds. Jabba the Hut fat 14.2 yds per attempt allowed. Three touchdowns didn’t pick him off. Sent their season rating allowed over a 100red. He’s loose. He’s got it. He is gone. Their defense overall though comes in strongish. Held Philadelphia’s offense to 21 points. Held the Eagles to three for 10 on third down. only let them inside the 20 once, holding offenses to 20 per game after seven weeks. And Barkley doesn’t have anything there. He runs right into Jaylen Redmond. Pass rush was good for three sacks on just 23 pass attempts, too. Herz’s trying to avoid it. He will not. They catch up to him. Dallas Turner and Jonathan Allen. Herbert taken down three times was on 55 pass attempts, but he has met Grass three plus times in four of their seven games. That O line still not healthy. Herbert steps up and Herbert gets dumped. Chargers defense giving up 23 a game wasn’t that high until they got torched by the number one offense in football. 38 points allowed at home let Indie convert four of five red zone chances. This has been a first half offensive clinic. The secondary Minnesota’s quarterback faces third lowest rate allowed overall, but come in wobbly after giving up two touchdowns to Daniel Jones over 280 yards, a 110 plus rate. They had Khalil Mack back. He accounted for their lone sack over the shoulder. It’s Pierce. Big play. Bolts trying to tie up the series with Skull. Purple up 8 to7 all time. 1981 probably the best Vikings Chargers game to date. With the Vikings trailing and the game drawing to a close, a 43-yd pass to Lount enhanced Kramer’s reputation as the master of the two-minute drill. It was now 3130, but when the conversion attempt failed, the stage was set for an onside kick. Rick Danmire and the special teams executed it perfectly and Lount recovered to cap his best game as a pro. As time ran out, Danmire connected on a 38-yd field goal and the Vikings had themselves a 33-31 victory in one of the most thrilling and memorable games of the 1981 season. Yeah. Hey, hey, hey.

Vikings-28
Chargers-31
Hoping Minnesota continues their losing streak. Probably a close game.
Calling it: next week the Preview Guy has to reference the Chargers not actually scoring 209 points (per K. Patra) 😛
If everyone thinks we're always going to lose why don't the dam odds show it. Plus 145 is weak.
Wentz is Buns
I can't believe KOC used the "It's a Thursday game, short week" excuse to keep out LOL. McCarthy has already been out 6 weeks on a 4 week injury, but you know 3 more days is truly the difference between starting and being an emergency 3rd stringer. KOC knows McCarthy is a disaster and wants no part of him anymore, he'd rather a rely on a very injured 32 year old than on McCarthy.
Had way bigger expectations for the vikings this season
chargers need to get back to the team that beat the chiefs I say the offense is getting there they are like 70% of the way if they fix the o line and get the run game going the offense is gonna be hard to stop and the defense if they do just enough the offense in the passing game will carry them
Bolts wearing their new Navy Blues tomorrow night. At least that's cool. So used to disappointment though. No expectations on the games outcome.
Chargers ⚡️
24-209 is wild
Surprised by the pro picks. I expect the Vikings to rebound. Pass rush will be the difference and Herbert will be sacked 5+ times. Vikings running backs should also feast.
ii say chargers 28-20 if chargers score more even better sure the run game is sloppy but Herbert prove this league at the end of the day your gonna more likely 8/10 times pass the ball
Can someone give me 2 player props for this game
I get that we might not have played the best last week, but K. Patra picking the Vikings to lose 24-209 is absolutely INSANE.
Adam Rank curse, stop picking the chargers Adam
Respectully, I don't think Wentz is talented enough to put up 209 pts….
5:22 – love the vintage footage, didn’t like the outcome. Chargers to even the series: 24-21.
Lions fan here Chargers give the Vikings the bolt ⚡ 28-24
Chargers should bounce back but that's crazy RB 1,2 and 3 all gone, bothe starting tackles, who are Pro Bowlers down to their 5th n 6th tackles , 3rd n 4th guards and their STARTING CENTER ALLOWED 15 PRESSURES IN 1 GAME!!😂 And lost two starting Dlineman! This team is fkd! 6:26
Patra with my favorite score prediction of the year.
Adam Rank picked the Chargers? We are cooked.
