Can someone please break down why New Jersey is on top of the Metro division and not the Hurricanes?

  1. If you click the icon in the top right (not pictured here) that shows a list with a little “i”, you’ll see the tiebreaker scenarios.

In this case, look no further than Regulation Wins (RW), which I believe is the 2nd tie breaker

  2. They have more regulation wins, or RW than Carolina, which is the first tiebreaker, if they had the same amount, it would go to Regulation plus OT wins, or ROW, then would go to head2head.

  3. You can click on the upper right hand button at the top of the standings page, scroll down once you click on it, and it gives all the tie breaking procedures. They have more regulation wins. The PHI and LAK wins in OT knock us out of the top spot

  4. Because the League wanted to let them feel like a big boy team for a little bit before the Canes started to run away with it.

  5. If the Whalers defeat the Nordiques Thursday night; and the Northstars 2.0 defeat the NJ Rockies tonight you’ll be back on top don’t worry.
