not as long ago as i expected, tbh. this team looks much better than the ’23 team though
“5-2 for the first time since 2023” – the media (probably)
Entering that season there were good reasons to have high hopes, which basically disappeared the moment both tackles went down halfway through the opener.
Then, Waldron reoriented the offense around multi-TE sets and conservative play-calling, and it actually covered up the lack of blocking really well, getting us to 5-2 with some great wins along the way!
And then…for some inexplicable reason he abandoned that and went back to the long-developing route, spread out of the shotgun stuff…and it fell apart.
But either way what doomed that season was losing both very good second-year tackles. You just can’t come back from that in today’s NFL as there isn’t enough OL talent to make the drop-off to backups manageable.
I was at the game
the eye test as well as the advanced metrics say that we’re miles better this year. But of course we have to stay humble and hope to correct some of the issues that came to light in that Houston game
Im very surprised on how well we are playing. I had very low expectations coming into the season. We just need to fix our turnovers.
I like to compare to year’s team to last year’s squad. After 7 games we were 4-3, had a point differential of +16, and allowed 20 sacks. This year, PD is +57 and we’ve taken just 9 sacks just to highlight some good stuff. I love stats just for trend data and stuff but even just off these numbers there’s a noticeable improvement with just one more win. Eye test we’re looking better in general too obviously. Loving the direction of this squad, just need to rack up some home wins
This seahawks team is so much better than the 2023 squad though. I also think the rookie class this year and improved play from young guys (JSN most of all obvi) has made us take a big leap even from last year.
And then they played the Ravens who ground the Hawks into the dirt lol.
Was this the game in the throwbacks where we forced a turnover coz it hit Jamal Adams’ helmet lol.
I was at that game
This team is much better in all ways, especially defense.
8 team in the NFL and 3 are NFC West
So close to being 6-1 too or even 7-0.
This is a much better team than that 2023 bunch of country club jokers that didn’t like to tackle
