Vancouver Canucks Vs Pittsburgh Penguins w/ Rohil Patel! | Vancouver Canucks 2025-2026 NHL Season
How we doing today? We are live for the Vancouver Conucks versus the Pittsburgh Penguins on the tail end of this road trip for the Canucks. They’re currently undefeated and we are ready for potentially a very interesting game. So, if anybody is in the chat right now and you want to drop any questions or you just want to talk, go ahead and do so. it will pop up on on the screen on uh this side right there. And yeah, we’re just here for some uh chill vibes. And so big talking point of this game is that Philip Heedle, Teddy Bluger, and Brock Besser are all not playing tonight. So the Conucks are going to be up against it. Even though I still think they’re a better team than the Pittsburgh Penguins when you’re out with or when you have half your guys out that would be in your top six, it’s a bit of an issue. So, we are expecting a very interesting game tonight. We do have Kevin Lankin in the net if we actually go and check the projected lineups here. So, this is via Kuck’s army and the first line being De Brusk, Person, Garland. And so we know that Person and Garland work well together. I’m not sure how De Brusk is going to fare on that line, but De Brusk is in the top three, I believe, for high dangerous scoring chances this season, so deploys them. And then on the fourth line, we have Drew O’ Conor. And then the two call-ups, we have Neils Oman, who has NHL experience, and Joseph Labate, who had a pretty good preseason. Nothing crazy, I would say, but he did uh impress me a little bit, so he is getting his opportunity. Tom Wanderer also got called up uh but he won’t be playing in this game. It will be Joseph entering the lineup. So it’s Hughes and Heronic as usual. We’re going with Marcus Person and Tyler Myers and then it’s Elias Patterson with Joseph and like I said Kevin Lanken gets the start. So it’s going to be pretty interesting to see what the Conucks do here against the Penguins. I believe it’s Sheiloff starting for Pittsburgh. So, we’ll just have to see what the Canucks uh end up doing against the Penguins. So, I’m assuming because Pittsburgh’s at home, they will be matching up Crosby with probably line, I would assume, and then maybe Malcolin with the second line of the Abbottzford line. So, there is that. And one thing we do have to talk about is Philip Heedle. So again going back to the little internet here. So we have Philip Heedle and this is basically a summarization of the Donnie and Dolly show. This is via Kucks News summary on or sorry the Kucks yeah van news on Twitter and basically for the Filipedal situation they’re just monitor monitoring it and he most likely saw a doctor uh if he shows concussion symptoms there will be a major concern because it’s potentially his seventh career concussion and the Conucks have not asked for year-long LTI yet. they must declare him out for the season and playoffs in order to use his full cap hit in their LTIR pool and then everything is on the table in terms of his future. So yes, he may have to retire early if it is another concussion because we just don’t want him to get to the point where he cannot return to hockey or even return to being a normal human being. So it’s very concerning for Philip Heedle. Jonathan Lacermacki looks like to be out for a couple weeks with that shoulder injury. Brock Brezer is out tonight and still dealing with a personal issue. So again, we don’t know anything about that. Teddy Buger is not playing tonight as we saw from the lineup. And of course, they are looking for a center. So, it’s not looking good for the Canucks if we’re being totally honest. In the next, I’d say two to three weeks. Uh the road trip coming to an end here. We’re coming back home. They’re playing the Montreal Canadians on Sunday. And so it looks like we’re going to be with this lineup for a little bit. Brock Besser might be back for Nashville, but again, because it’s a personal issue, we don’t really know what his status is going to be. And same thing with Teddy Bluger. So the Conucks are just going to have to do with what they can. And that even puts more pressure on the shoulders of EP40 Elias Person because yes, he got his first goal the other day and it was great against Washington. He had a very good performance. the play at the end where he stacked the pads and blocked the shot. It was really uh inspiring to see that he was really working hard. Like he got his goal, but even though that was so early on in the game, he was still working hard. And so we want more of the same from him. But we’re actually going to need a little bit more because of the injuries in this lineup. And Jake De Brrisk, I’m looking for him to have a breakout game, get some goals on the board because I mean Besser’s out. Connor Garland, you can’t really rely on him to be a dedicated goal scorer. He’s more of a playmaker in my opinion. And so when you have him and EP40 being a bit of a question mark when it comes to goal scoring, Jake De Bruss needs to put the puck in the back of the net. And so if this is your first time in the stream, make sure to leave a like and subscribe for more. This will not be the last stream. I am trying to get a consistent schedule down, but I have two channels right now and my other channel is kind of popping off a little bit more than this one. So I’m trying my best to balance between the two. And I know the Conucks majority of the time they play Thursday through Saturday and unfortunately I work those days. So any game realistically Monday through Wednesday I will be live for. And so yeah, uh we’re just here for some chill vibes and hoping for a Canucks win. For whatever reason, my stream is not working. There you go. We are live. This is way too loud in my ear though. So, here we are. We got um if I can get this going here. There you go. So, the game is underway. Looks relatively I wouldn’t say packed. Oh, here’s Connor Garland. Slapshot scores. Okay. Wow. I was just getting myself situated with the game. And it is Archer Seavs in the net. And Connor Garland with that slap shot off the rush makes it one- nothing Vancouver. Let’s go. That’s how you start the game. I was just saying Connor Garland, you can’t rely on him for goal scoring. Never mind, I was wrong. Look at this slap shot far side into the back of the net. Low blocker beats Celops clean. One- nothing already. That is unbelievable. 1842 gone. And it looks like Adam Foot will be deploying this Abbottzford line as the second line. They are going up against the A of Malcon line. Here’s Ry Baines draw pass. Lenus Carlson shot missed the net. So it’s Marcus Person out there with Joseph Baines. Another shot by Carlson. Misses the net. Connor Garland’s second goal of the season. Oh, bit of a bobble of the puck of Marcus Person. So, was that EP 40 with an assist or was that I I would assume so. I don’t think Elias was out there and I think Pittsburgh just iced the puck. 1748. A very very good start for the Vancouver Conucks. So again, I’m very interested to see. So we have Person off the icing. So it’s the top line against I don’t know. I think this is their fourth line. Number 81. Oh, here’s Hughes cutting inside into the middle. Jake Dross can’t get his stick on it. And Hughes gets back. Connor Garland chips it in. Jake de Brusk will chase. Stolen by Patterson. He’s going to ring it back around for Jake De Brusk. Use with the puck. Phil heronic. Oh, tries to slide through Drew O’ Conor against his former team. Can’t connect with the puck. He was again still out there. He needs a change. Sydney Crosby out there now. Now looks like it’s going to be Crosby against the fourth line of Vancouver. Myers, can he get the puck out? Crosby on him. And he does get it out. Eric Carlson turns the puck over to Drew O’ Conor. One v4 splits a little soft one on Caws. Elias Pettison shot. Looks like Sherwood got a piece of that. And Seaws with the save. Here’s Eric Carlson. checked from behind from Sherwood, but Carlson does well to recover and they’re going to call offside on the Canucks. So, a very good start. Four minutes in, shots four to nothing for the Conucks. And that’s back-to-back games where the Canucks score on the first shift of the game, I should say. It was Person who got the goal last time against Washington. Connor Garland gets the goal this time against the Pittsburgh Penguins. And another point for Elias Person, which is what we like to see. Vander Kane loses the draw to Nola. So it looks like there’ll be matching third lines here. Noari down low. Shot thrown to the net by Pittsburgh. Another shot blocked. Blake Lazot in the corner. Pinned by Atu Ratu. Tyler Myers pushes over Connor Der. Myers gets away with that way too often. And if I’m being totally honest, just like a check from behind, drops his guy. I mean, you can’t really call it a trip. It’s not really a cross check either. It’s more of a push. Puck still in the Canucks end here. Pittsburgh’s first real sustained offense. Still no official shot. Brunick download to Lazot. Tyler Myers tries to ring it around, but Brunick keeps it in. Here’s Lazot. Little tap pass from Justin Brazil, who has started the season very good for the Penguins. Anthony Mantha throws it again. It goes around. Connor Garland’s able to come out here. And here comes Evander Kane on a breakaway. It’s a Vander Kane stopped by Sheil. He runs into him pushing him out of the blue paint at the end of his shift. Evander Kane almost gets a goal. Drop pass by Brazil turned over. A little flick by Dusk is threeon- two for Vancouver. Patterson. Marcus Patterson shot stopped by Seovs. Connor Garland now. Marcus Patterson’s shot goes up high and Chris Latang rings it around. Shots are 6 nothing for Vancouver. I like that play from Elias Patterson. You know, threeon two. The third man coming back for Pittsburgh was going for him. So, he drops it to the defenseman. The Penguins keep the puck in the zone for Vancouver. In Vancouver zone, I should say. Lenus Carlson. Now, Patterson still out there. Leas Patterson needs to get a change. And the Canucks turn the puck over in their own end. Patterson’s going to shovel it to Lenus Carlson and he’s going to dump it in. And finally, the Canucks can make a change. Eric Carlson up the middle. Checked at center ice by Max Assassin was Kindle. Here’s Quinn Hughes in his own end. acres of space. Philip Heronic tried to feather it through, but here comes Sydney Crosby into the Canucks end. Eric Carlson with some space. He takes a shot. It goes wide. Definitely don’t want to give Carlson a lot of space. Here’s Rust. Back to Carlson. Another shot. Goes wide. Drew O’ Conor the Lebate. He’s going to chip it into the Penguin’s end. Okconor is going to chase as the Conucks go for a change. Yeah. Joseph Leate wearing number 14. The first person to wear number 14 since Alex Burroughs who wore that number proud. Let’s just say that. Here’s Lazot. Nolari. Lazot down low. Tyler Myers is doing well. Keep his stick in between him. Lazot and the puck. Connor Der with that shot in front for Nola. It just fell to him, but it bobbled over his stick. And it is going to be a delayed penalty on the Canucks. I believe it’s going to be a hook on Myers potentially. Evander Kane for what? Okay. Well, we’re going into a commercial break. Evander Kane’s breakaway stopped. 1137 remaining in the first period. A very, very good start for the Canucks. Pittsburgh fighting back. I still don’t think they have an official shot on target, but they will be going to the power play. So we will be seeing Carlson, Malikin, Crosby with a ton of space to operate. So a bit of a challenge for the Canucks pen kill which has been pretty good to start the season. So hopefully they can continue to do just that. Don’t forget to leave a like on the stream. It helps me out. a very small creator trying to make it in the space of social media in the NHL. Make sure to click subscribe as well. Should we talk about the Tom Wilson hit on Filipedal? Like, was it a penalty? Probably, I’d say, because Hedo moves the puck and then there’s no play made on the puck by Tom Wilson. It’s not like, you know, where it happens along the boards and somebody chips it around and somebody’s forchecking and they come in and, you know, they finish their check. It wasn’t like that. It was just an open ice hit to a guy who has concussion problems and he just gets absolutely destroyed and the puck is nowhere near to be seen. So, not only did the Canucks come into the season with a question mark at second line center, Philip Hedo steps into that role, plays excellent offensively at the very least. And now the Conucks don’t have Filipedo anymore. It’s a hooking penalty on a Vander Kane actually. So I don’t know. We We’ll see what happens with Filipedo. I mean I don’t know. It’s It’s so difficult. I mean Tom Wilson probably the one player in the league you don’t want to be taking a body check from. And yeah, that’s just really unfortunate. And then on top of that, we already have Lacramaki out and Besser and Bluger are out. And so the Conucks are really fighting an uphill battle here. Like the fact that they were even able to win against Washington. I know they were up big, but they were short-handed for that entire game. Oh, puck to the center of the net. Where’s the puck? It’s loose. And now Lenin has it. I believe it was Crosby. No, it was Raquel. Just puts it in front looking for some sort of deflection either off of Marcus Better or a tap in for Malcolin, but it goes off of Malcolin’s skate right onto the pad of Lankenin. Puck is flipped up out of play. Minute 42 left in this Pittsburgh power play. So it’s going to be Person out there I believe with Garland as the forwards killing the penalty with Heronic and Marcus Patterson. I wonder what they’re talking about here. Is it like time that’s inaccurate or this would be really unfortunate if Pittsburgh scores here because we already had a very good start and then you take a penalty again of Vander Kane a stupid penalty. So, you have to deal with that when you’re when you have a Vander Kane on your team. It wasn’t really a hook either. It was kind of just like a It’s like the motion of a high stick where you go south to north, but he just got it in the hands of Connor Der. So, a dumb penalty taken and potentially Pittsburgh could capitalize on it. So they take two seconds off of the game clock and the power play. Crosby goes down low to Genny Malcin. Malcolin across Raquel Rust back to Raquel. Eric Carlson. Shot deflected by Crosby. Wide across from Raquel to Malcin. A nice interception by Patterson. It’s a twoon-one. Patterson. Connor Garland against Eric Carlson. And then Patterson’s shot goes over the net. And now it’s a fouron two for Pittsburgh. Crosby. Malcin waits. Tyler Myers does very well. Malcolin back to the point though. Rust. Malcolin down low looking for Crosby. Hops over his stick. Rust into the middle. Raquel looking across for of Malcolm. But he had a wide open shot. But now it’s down low to Rust. Tyler Myers now looking to clear the puck. But it’s Crosby who keeps it alive for Pittsburgh. Malcolin Eric Carlson down low Crosby back to Carlson across Malin walks in down low. A little deflection rebound for Raquel. It goes right to Lankanin. A little tip play by Raquel off the pad of Lankanin in front and it goes right back to Lankanin. Leas Patterson with the shot. Let’s see here. No, it was a it was a fair shot by Person. Oh, it was a tip play by Rust off the pad of Lanin and then it was Raquel on the rebound and it falls right back to Lankanin. 30 seconds left on the power play. Little deflection. 27 seconds now. So, we got Atu Ratu with Kefir Sherwood on the penalty kill here. Elias Person and I would have to assume it’s Joseph. Knox win the draw, but a very good play by Brazil in front. shot wide by Tommy Novak. A beautiful play. Another down low. It was a low or a high low play, I guess you can say, or low high, I don’t know. Brazil creating so many opportunities for Pittsburgh. And the puck is going to go out of the Canucks end. And that is going to be it for the Pittsburgh power play. It’s a steal by Drew O’ Connor. Twoon two with Kefir Sherwood who takes a shot and he fans on it. Pittsburgh almost getting a goal from their second power play unit. Justin Brazil all over the Canucks to end that power play. 19 920 left in the first period. Weather Spoon. Eric Carlson has to chase it back into his own end. Witherspoon. Eric Carlson enters the zone on side. Drop pass. Achari shot blocked by Joseph. He can’t get a stick on it. Quinn Hughes pokes it wide. Here’s Achari now. Lebate. Can’t get the puck out. Lazot shot blocked by Joseph. And he’s feeling it. He is feeling it. Connor Derer with a shot stopped by Lankanin. The connects with four and a half players out there. Another shot from the point scored. I believe it was Witherspoon clean into the top corner. Doer is skating first. So maybe a tip play up and into the top corner. Joseph takes a huge shot block and the Canucks can’t get the puck out. I’m not going to lie, Hughes could have done better. He decides to leave the puck for Joseph who gets stuck. I think it went straight in. No, it was a very good shot by Witherspoon. Yeah, it might have been Derer, but they I think they are going to credit it to Derer, but it looked like it went straight in. So, sustained zone pressure by the Pittsburgh Penguins. They draw a penalty. They go to the power play. They create some chances. They can’t score on Lankenin. And then as the power play expires, they continue that offensive zone pressure and they finally get the goal that they deserved. Canucks on their heels a little bit now after that good opening five minutes. Crosby down low in front. Shot stopped by Lankanin. I believe that was Ricard Raquel. Here’s Crosby now again. Rust makes a move around her own shot. Stopped by Lenin who had to extend beyond the screen in front of him. And Max Assassin’s going to shoot it in. Quinn Hughes is going to go chase. Is he going to get the puck here? No, he’s not. Gets ringed around for Justin Brazil. And the puck bobbles over Hughes a stick. Here’s Anthony Mantha. Evani Malcin can’t get the puck. And here comes Evander Kane. Twoon two with Sherwood. Sherwood dropped for Kane. Gets around the Tang. Goes around the net. He gets taken down. That’s got to be a penalty. It is a tripping penalty. Philip Heronic shot wide and it’s going to go back down to the Canucks end. Lankin is gone to the bench and Malcolin touches. 646 remaining in the first period. Now the Canucks are going to go to the power play. So Kane takes a penalty on Connor Der and then he draws one on Chris Latang. So the Canucks who have looked very good on the power play as of late is going to get an opportunity to retake the lead. Make sure to leave a like on the stream, subscribe for some more, and yeah, I mean, pretty entertaining game so far. Again, the Conucks need to continue to win. They are short-handed essentially. I know they have the same amount of players, but half of our lineup are like is like a AHL players. So, we we’re just going to have to grind this one out. You know, we’re going to need a big performance from Lanken. And he’s been pretty good so far. I mean, the goal that Pittsburgh scored, it’s a deflection from the point, a pretty good screen in front of him. I don’t think he could have done too much about it. So, it’s going to be up to the offense now. I want to see some more shots from Leas Person. I like to see Connor Garland handle the puck more. It looks like he’s really feeling it tonight. And Jake De Brusk. Hopefully, he can get some rebounds in front. I’m actually interested to see who’s on the power play instead of Besser because I think traditionally they would put like a Macki instead, but both of them are out. So, I’m assuming it’s going to be a Vander Kane in that spot instead. It was a good shot block by Joseph. Closed down the angle, but just couldn’t get out. Oh, it was Shay with a tripping penalty. Oh, right. It’s Kefir Sherwood on the power play. I forgot. Yeah, he was on the power play against Washington and actually scored. So, a little bit of a different look. Here’s Quinn Hughes drop feed. Connor Garland across. Sherwood’s going to chip it in and it’s going to be sent back down the ice. Something the Conucks always struggle with is zone entries on the power play. So, I wouldn’t be opposed to one guy making a beine for the net and somebody else just putting the puck on trying to get a face off. Here’s Connor Garland. Sherwood’s going to shoot it down low for Connor Garland. Intercepted once again and the puck goes all the way back down. A minute 15 left in the power play. Here’s Connor Garland. Patterson back to Garland. Back to Patterson. And the Conucks are in. Quinn Hughes. A minute left in the power play. Connor Garland. Back to Hughes. Back to Garland with the shot straight at CEOs with no screen. He holds on. 50 seconds remaining on this Conucks power play. Yeah, with with Garland on that side, it didn’t really look like he had any pass. The only thing that was maybe on there was a little high low play with De Brus and Sherwood, but I’m not against taking a shot there. Get a face off going. It’s going to be Noari against Evander Kane on the face off and Kane gets waved out. Okay, so there’s a we’re going with the second unit plus Quinn Hughes and Heronic. Well, I guess heronic is part of the second unit. Shot by Kane, stopped by CEOs. Yeah, I mean I’m not I’m not against having shots and you know Carlson’s there. We know he likes to work down low on the power play. So not against that. Oh, a quick shot from Lenus Carlson. It just fell to him. Arste Baines can’t hold on to the puck and Chris Latang is just going to flip the puck. on Kevin Lankin who gloves it down for Lenus Carlson. Here’s Quinn Hughes who’s been out for the entire power play. A quick little move breaking the angles of the Penguins defender. Bane’s down low. Lenus Carlson tries to jam it in from the goal line and Sheil holds on. There’s 12 seconds remaining on the power play. I’m assuming we’re going to get the Kane Ratu Sherwood line out here to end the power play. Yeah, I mean he had space going up against his former goalender maybe thinking that there’s a five hole opportunity there. So it is going to be actually the top line out there with Hughes and Heronic. So Hughes being out there for the entire power play. Still Hughes with the shot. Stopped by Sheiloff’s rebound and it gets cleared to the side. Hughes to Garland across Person deflected by the skate of Witherspoon I believe it was. And Sheiloffs holds on and we are going to commercial break. 440 remaining in the first period. I completely forgot to give Pittsburgh a goal. Apologies for that. So, it is 1-1. A decent power play once they entered uh the zone after the first minute of trying to enter the zone. They get some chances. I liked Lenus Carlson being aggressive from the goal line. You know, just taking the space that the defense is giving you. You know, if they’re not going to respect you, show them why they need to respect you, right? So, pretty decent. No like grade A chances though, which is a little bit unfortunate, but it is what it is. But like always, make sure to leave a like on the stream, subscribe for some more. We will be live potentially next Tuesday for the game against the Rangers, the Miller versus Person Bowl, I guess you could say. I won’t be available for the game against Montreal next Sunday as I have a soccer game at the same time. So, I will be most likely live for the game against uh the Rangers. So, that’s going to be a very, very entertaining game to see JT Miller against his former team. I want to see if he gets matched up with Elias Patterson. Both of them having a bit of a start struggle start to the season. I mean, Miller obviously had a better start, but he has slowed down a little bit. March 2017, Joseph Leate last played for the Canucks in 2017. Here’s Drew O’ Connor. Elias Patterson. Tyler Myers. Bit of a weak one-time. Heads into the corner. Sydney Crosby. Elias Patterson backhands it. And it is going to go all the way down for icing. So even though the Penguins have had a lot of zone time, I like that the Canucks are kind of limiting limiting the shots on Lankanin. Here’s a shot by the Penguins. Sails wide. Latang goes back to Raquel. Cross to Carlson. deflected behind the net. It’s Rust. They got Laten and Carlson out there. Laten tries to go down low to Raquel. Intercepted by Neils Oman who is going to chip it in. Drew O’ Conor and the rest of the Conucks are going to head off for a change. Knocked down with the high stick by Aander Kane. And what is going on here? That was that was just a terrible play. by Latang because now it’s going to be an offensive zone faceoff. Like if Vander Kane high stick in the neutral zone, it would have gone in the neutral zone, but Latang decides not to play the puck and now it floats into the Penguins end. And now it’s going to be an offensive zone draw for the Kuck. So it’s going to be of Malcolin against Atu Ratu. Hughes and Heronic at the point. The Conucks win the draw. Quinn Hughes. Philip Heronic fakes the shot down low. Evander Kane in front goes off of Ratu into the corner. Now Hughes backhands it down low. Intercepted by Getty Malcin. And it’s going to be chipped away by Anthony Mantha. Quinn Hughes up the ice to Vander Kane who makes a little spin move and then tries to chip it in but it’s intercepted by Malcolin who makes a move at the blue line. Keeps it in. Anthony Mantha rings it around for Justin Brazil. This is a big second line for Pittsburgh. You have Brazil Malcin and Anthony Mantha. I think their average height is like 6’3. Bit of a weak icing call, but it is what it is. So, it’s still going to be the third line plus Hughes and Heronic out there for this Dzone draw. Kindle against Ratu on the draw. Ratu wins it back. Hughes is going to lift it high to center ice. And the Conucks are taking in too many men. I don’t like I don’t know why they decided to go for a change in the neutral zone. like he was lifted up and then Ratu can’t get off like Sherwood came on too soon. Oh, sorry. No, Assassin came on too soon and Sherwood Ratu couldn’t get off. So, another stupid penalty for the Conucks to take at the end of the period where it’s 1-1. And if this goes into the back of the net, it’s going to be added to a long list of dumb penalties the Canucks have taken this season where it results in them being down and screwing up their momentum. Patterson gets the puck out. Connor Garland can’t get it down the ice, so in the neutral zone. It is Eric Carlson now. Rust Crosby to Malcolin. Malcolm with space. Malcin across. Great play by Meyers to intercept the puck, but he can’t get it out and the puck gets hooked to Malcolin who can’t get a piece of it. And Drew O’ Conor does very well to get the puck out. So again, the Canucks doing a very good job of just holding holding on, not letting the Penguins connect on those high danger passes. Crosby tries to go back. Sherwood intercepts Drew Oconor. Does he have space? Eric Cross and closes down the angle. Shot by Drew Oconor. Stopped by Archer Cavs. Sherwood. He has Okconor in the middle. But unfortunately, Conucks can’t capitalize short-handed. But 35 seconds remaining in this Penguins power play. Here’s Kindle and the second unit. Anthony Mantha across looking for Brazil. Another stick in the lane for the Canucks. Shot blocked by Elias Person and a potentially another breakaway. Elias Patterson can’t get it to Connor Garland. But it’s in the Penguins End here. The Canucks doing a very good job of killing the time. Pittsburgh looking to at least gain the zone. the tang around to Mantha who drops it. Harsh Steve Baines can’t get a stick on it. It was almost another breakaway, but here comes the Penguins. Anthony Mantha around for Chris Latang looking down low. This is dangerous. Backhander by Lazot and it gets deflected wide. Arty Baines with a bad turnover. Back to the blue line with a shot. I don’t know who that was, but it goes behind the Canucks net. 25 seconds to go. Here’s Max Assassin. He’s going to shoot it onto the corner and it comes back out in front of the net and Sheilovs couldn’t get a piece of it nor could Lenus Carlson. It was like a direct pass off the end boards from Sassin to himself. 5 seconds to go. Can Hughes generate a chance? Drops Evander Kane across. Sherwood shot blocked by Connor Der who breaks his stick and that is going to be it for the first period. So the Canucks almost almost took another penalty that resulted in them going down heading into the second period, but they were able to kill it off and actually create some pretty good chances of their own. And that’s how it’s going to stay. It’s going to be 1-1 heading into the second period. So, make sure to leave a like on the stream if you haven’t already. And if you want to drop anything in the chat, go ahead. um because we’re in the second period, so we can just chat about really anything. You guys, if you want to ask me any sort of questions or you just want to talk about the game, what your thoughts so far on this Abis for Conucks lineup that the Conucks have going on here, feel free to do so. But in the meantime, so yeah, readressing that Heedle situation, it could be very very catastrophic for the Canucks if Philip Heedle cannot return to hockey because they they’re already questioning the fact that they don’t have a center in the top six and Heedle pretty much plays his way into being a good top six center and build some chemistry with deer brusk with Besser even with Evander Kane. He was acquired in the trade for JT Miller and a return on the JT Miller trade now if Heedle can’t return is what Mancini and I guess technically you could say Marcus Person and Drew O’ Conor because we flipped that first round pick but Hedo was a big piece because he was the direct replacement for JT Miller. So, the Conucks could be screwed. Let’s just put it that way. The Conucks could be screwed if this HEL situation goes potentially as bad as we think it could be. And at that point, we have to start evaluating potentially making some moves, some uncomfortable moves for a center. Now, I’ve heard Alex Tuck be a name that might be interesting for the Canucks, but he’s a top six winger. He his wife is from Vancouver, so that’s really the connection there. So, you know, there at least there’s that. So, there could be a potential um incentive for him to sign here because he is on an expiring deal if we were to acquire him. But is that what the Conucks need? Do we need a power forward winger when we have Evander Kane already and we have Atu Ratu playing second line center tonight or technically is Max Assassin playing second line center tonight. I if Heedle was okay I would say sure we could always use like imagine de Brusk better sorry De Brusk Besser and Heedle on one line and then Garland Patterson and Tuck on another line that is a very formidable top six however’s not here Basser is not even here right now so we really need to get creative But also, we might be forced into a situation where we have to part with somebody we don’t want to. Now, I’m not saying Tom willander, but I’m thinking potentially Victor Mancini or Elias Person. We might need to reflip somebody that we are not really looking to move to get a second line center or center who can play on the second line. Like for me, there’s Casey Middlestad because I believe he got scratched the other night for Boston. So that’s a center with uh offensive upside, but again, we saw against Edmonton, like we need to take that Edmonton game and really I know they haven’t been playing well, but if we’re playing Edmonton in the first round, because if they finish second, we finish third, we’re going to be playing Edmonton in the first round. Who’s going to go up against McDavid? Who’s going to go up against Rididle if they’re split up? and Casey Middlestat maybe offensively, but defensively I’m not too sure about that. So, it’s going to be very interesting. It’s only game seven of the regular season. trade deadines not until March. But we do know this front office likes to be aggressive with their moves and with their assets. So hopefully uh there’s some sort of resolution because if we continue to stay with this lineup, I mean realistically tonight against Pittsburgh if they don’t win, that’s going to give me worry against Nashville who has, you know, a lot of guys at center who can match up well against us. Against Montreal on Sunday, that’s going to be a bit of a worry. And then against R like, you know what I mean? Like, so there can be a lot of bad results even though we just had like what’s the winning streak now? It’s a three-game winning streak. We beat Dallas, we beat Chicago, and we beat Washington. So, it’s a three-game win streak. And if we don’t win tonight against Pittsburgger, if we don’t win against Nashville, if we don’t win against Montreal, all that goes away, right? So, we definitely need some sort of stability. I mean, if if the Abbottzford guys can step up and and and hold their spots down, like that would be great, but it’s kind of unrealistic to expect that from four AHL players, right? I mean, Archie Baines is always a hot topic in terms of his turnovers and his consistency. Max Sassin has been good so far, right? Two goals. Lenus Carlson creating chances. So, they definitely have some chemistry, but I don’t like them as the second line. Ideally, they’re our fourth line. Um, third line in a pinch, right? So, I don’t know. I’m a little bit worried about the near future for the Canucks more so than the long-term future because like for example, if we don’t get a center or don’t have consistent players in the lineup until maybe December or the new year before the Olympic break, we could have a bad record, a very bad record. And at that point, you’re chasing the entire season to get points. And we definitely don’t want that because our team is like, let’s face it, our team is not of the caliber of, you know, the top Stanley Cup contenders, right? So, we can’t afford to be in a hole like that. And with all these injuries and with all these absences, we could definitely be in a big hole very soon. So, a little bit worried, but I don’t know. We’ll see. Quinn Hughes still yet to really be, you know, the best defenseman in the league, all world kind of caliber. We’ve seen it so far with our goalies Kevin Lankton and that Demco being very, very good for us, but we still need uh we still need more from our top guys to really do anything. So yeah, make sure to leave a like on the stream. Make sure to subscribe. And if you have anybody you know who likes to watch the Canucks and you know potentially wants to talk more about hockey because I mean me and my friend group if I’m being totally honest I’m the only one who’s really in tap with hockey. So it’s kind of hard to have a full-blown discussion with anybody. So if you know anybody like that send them the link to the stream. Get them involved. Get them talking. And yeah, we can we don’t have to talk about connect stuff, but that would be obviously ideal. We could talk about just general NHL stuff. I mean, if you want to talk about how the Oilers are just absolutely struggling right now. So, I’m hoping that the Conucks can get off to a good start again in the second period because I mean, we saw pretty much after the first five minutes of this game, the Pittsburgh Penguins were really in control for the most part of it. like the puck was pretty much exclusively in the Canucks’s end and then you take into consideration the two penalties as well. So ideally in the second period I would like to see a little bit less dump and chase have our guys carry the puck into the into the offensive zone because I mean it’s just not sustainable and that’s a a big concern within the Canucks fan base is people believe in Person, people believe in this forward group but when you have Rick Tocket who installs or instills a chip and chase kind of mentality into this team. And then his assistant coach takes the head coach job. And then on top of that, the style of play really hasn’t changed. Oh, we got my brother in the chat. Yeah, he scored. But like then what happened after that? It was a good 5 minutes. But then they end up getting absolutely hemmed into their own end. like it was a it was a very good very good goal by Garland because Penderson was just able to direct it into that space away from the Pittsburgh players and then yeah they get some some breakaways even on the penalty kill they were creating chances but at five on five sustained zone pressure has not really been the Canucks mo this season it’s been more like half chances and creating chances off the rush which again aren’t bad things, but a majority of the game is played at five on five, so I want to see them better. Defensively, they’ve been excellent. The sticks in the lane, um Tyler Myers, I thought on the times where he got caught out in his own end, where he was out there for a little bit too long, he was very, very good still at disrupting play. Oh, look at that. McDavid got his first goal of the season. Couldn’t be Garland. Couldn’t be Garland. Couldn’t be Max Assassin. Max Assassin’s better than McDavid. Confirmed. Yeah. I mean, yeah, that whole Cash Patel thing, I’m going to be totally honest. I don’t care. I I I really don’t. If if you like if Vander Kane gave you no reason to like him in the first place. So if you already didn’t like him, then cool. You just don’t like him anymore. Whatever. But for me, honestly, like it’s just politics at the end of the day. And I only care about hockey. If if you want to get political with it, sure. But for me, it’s like it’s whatever. He went to dinner. He went to dinner with somebody that he wanted to go to dinner with. So it’s like I don’t know. Oh, Michael Misa gets his first point in his career off of an Adam Goddet Knox draft pick goal. Oh, that is that not goalie interference? Did Did nobody see that in in the New York Islanders game? Was that not goalie interference? So, it looks like we should be getting the start of the second period shortly. So, if you haven’t already, make sure to leave a like on the stream, subscribe for more. Uh, we will be doing a game review at the end of the game. We will still be live on stream for it and then I will clip it and put onto my YouTube channel. So, again, if you have any questions for that later, do you think Yansen should be a part of the team? Yanick Hansen. Who are you? Yanick Hansen. Is that Is that Is that what we’re doing, brother? Well, um, he’s very passionate about this team and about the community and the fan base. I I just don’t know cuz like since he’s retired I don’t think he’s been like a coach like what like what would he be like player development maybe I wouldn’t mind that but we already have the sadines for player development. So, I don’t know. I I feel like if if there’s a role that makes sense, I’m not opposed to it. If anything, we should get like Rafi Torres, get him involved, do some do some boxing uh practice with Evander Kane. That would be pretty deadly. That would be pretty nice. Oh man, I’m actually really concerned that they’re going to lose. Yeah, that’s the thing though, like he understands. I mean, I think anybody on that 2011 team understands what it takes to win. They were one game away. They could have done it in six. They could have done it in seven. And from what I’ve heard as well is that yeah, he he just understands what it takes to win in this market. Now, I will say the way hockey is played now versus back then is very different. Even though that was 14 years ago, it’s actually a lot different now because if you go back and watch the playoffs, for example, for any team between probably 2007 to 2014, it’s it’s like back then it was very much get in front of the net, shots from the point, rebounds, power plays, that’s how you won in the playoffs. and obviously goending, but now it’s it’s it’s a little bit more of like overloading the defense, having a defenseman leave the point, whereas back in the day, it was three high or three forwards in the other end and then two guys on the blue line. Whereas nowadays, I mean, you watch Florida, how many goals did they get from defenseman last year? But it’s not like they were all blast from the point, it’s more like like Seth Jones was like on the right half wall like sniping at far side, Gus Forsling, like you know what I mean? And like I mean Edmonton’s probably the biggest culprit of that having Buchard and back home everybody’s pretty much on the goal line, right? So it’s a little bit different now. So I don’t know. how somebody like Yanick Hansen would uh translate his either coaching or his player development nowadays, but I don’t know. It’d be cool. Hockey just changed, but the depth is the same. Yeah, I I think Yeah, I think the one thing that h hasn’t changed in years, and it’s what I’ve always said, that’s why I believe the the 20 24 where’s the 23? The 23 24 Canucks, the one that lost to Edmonton in the second round. I believe they beat Dallas and I believe that they go to the finals at the very least if they get past Edmonton because they had elite goalending from Seavs. They had a dominant third line and those are the two things that you really need in the playoffs. You need a dominant third line. You need elite goalending and then you need your stars to produce and the only thing the Canucks didn’t have in those playoffs was Elias Patterson and Quinn Hughes producing. Hughes had zero goals. Person had one goal. And if you look at the Edmonton series, six of the seven games were decided by one goal. And then you look at the Florida Panthers last year, elite third line with Marshand, Lorteran, and Lendell. I believe it was elite goalending with Sergey Babroski. And then like the forwards obviously everybody’s producing, but we are underway. Forgot to mention that. 18 minutes now remaining in the second period. And Besser was out too. Exactly. So there was there was a lot of uh there was a lot of things going for that Conucks team, but injuries is always going to happen and uh yeah, it was it was a little unfortunate and then obviously we know what happened last year. So a lot of rebuilding for the Canucks to do that. Is that not a penalty? Okay, Eric Carlson down low. I think that was Connor Der and it was stopped by Kevin Lankanin. Neither team can really hold on to the puck here. Archie Bane steals in the neutral zone. Here’s Max Assassin. Lenus Carlson. Lenus Carlson rings it around looking for Elias Patterson who rings it back around. Elias Patterson with the interception in front. Stopped. Well, actually it was blocked. Neils Oman’s shot was blocked by Lenus Carlson. I mean, if we can get some more like offensive output from Elias Person in terms of just chances created, that would be great because I Oh, another move to the front by Drew O’ Conor. Um, that would be great because he’s already showing that he’s going to be a very good shutdown defenseman. You know, he’s physical. He’s not afraid of that matchup. Oh, here’s Crosby now. But offensively, if he can do stuff like that, just chip in here and there, get some shots, create some uh opportunities. Tyler Myers and Elias Person has been out there for probably like a minute and a half now, two minutes. And Crosby’s there for checking in front. couldn’t connect but it falls to Shay who tries to go back to Crosby intercepted by Evander Kane who tries to go outside on Latang. Sherwood and Latang as well as Kane and Shay down low. And Latang comes out with it to have Genny Malcin. And Malcolin instead of chipping it in elects to go back to Sealoffs. I think Latang went for a change. So Malcolm wasn’t ready for that. If we can win this game, it’ll be sick. Like the Niners playing with an injured lineup. essentially a shot by Brunick and I think it was blocked by Hughes before getting to Lankin. I mean, the Niners are I don’t think I’ve seen a more injured team than the NerS in the last three years or two years. Here’s Person. I can’t get the [ __ ] the Penguins. Malcolm, that was before the red line. No. Yeah, that’s gonna be icing. Yeah. Name me name me a sports team in all of the major sports in the last two years that have been injured more than the Niners. Like it seems like every week somebody’s going down for them. So I don’t know if it’s their medical staff or I don’t know if there’s if it’s their play calling that’s putting guys in bad situations. It could just be bad luck. But 1435 remaining in the second period. The Canucks shoot it back in to the Pittsburgh and it’s Arte Bane’s first. Not really a coordinated for check there. Yeah, Fred Warner like destroyed his ankle. Here come the Penguins now. Achari Marcus Patterson can’t get the puck. No Achari still can’t put it into the net. Is back to the point. Shot blocked. Here’s Okconor now. Lenus Carlson and the puck falls to Marcus Person. Now it’s Tyler Myers. Plays it up the middle. Here’s Okconor. Goes down low looking for Lebate. Here’s Elias Patterson now. Back to Tyler Myers. And the Conucks break out here. Oh, terrible pass by Meyers. It’s a twoon-one Kindle. Oh, what a shot block by Meyers. But then the rebound came out and it was a stop by Lankanin. Holy Tyler Myers. Oh, nice little fake. Back to the point. Shot stopped by Lanin and the Canucks. Tyler Myers specifically needs to get off the ice. Brunick was checked. Here’s Atuatu. Tries to go out wide. It’s Kefir Sherwood. One v one with Caleb Jones. Now Kindle receives and the puck is going to get sent down all the way into the Canucks end for icing. 1244 remaining in the second period. A bit of a scrappy one in this second period. Difference between the 49ers and the Canucks is Conucks have defense. Yeah, not much else to say. I mean, I don’t think the the Niners want Tyler Myers on defense, to be honest. But he did make up for it. He did make up for it. So, we’ll we’ll give him a pass on this one. That was a terrible pass, though. Philip Heronic is going to play this puck into the neutral zone. Elias Elias Person couldn’t hold on. Here’s Brian Russ now. Makes a move to the net. Stopped by Lenin. It’s at the post and Kevin Lakenin stops the rebound as well. Elias Person couldn’t control the puck in the neutral zone and Brian Russ the other way makes a power move to the net and Kevin Lankan with his best stop of the night. We are going to commercial break. One remains the score. So, like always, make sure to leave a like on the stream and subscribe. It helps out a small content creator such as myself. And if you have any questions or just anything you want to talk about, put it in the chat as this this Ashish Patel person is and it will display on the screen. So, be aware of that. I think in Siri, not counting my second channel, I’m probably like top 200 maybe maybe I don’t know I’m not really that intapped with Vancouver content creators but if we take into account my second channel not doing too bad and on my second channel it’s mainly just like my hobbies other things that I like things like, you know, anime and and and soccer and FIFA and stuff like that. So, that’s what’s on my second channel, but I do want to eventually, um, I want to make a video on the White Cat specifically before the playoffs start next Sunday, just kind of recapping their season for people who weren’t paying attention before Thomas Miller came and before they clinched the playoffs. Because if you want to talk about injuries, holy, the White Caps are probably the most injury riddled team in the playoffs. Yet they finished third in the West and they were like two points off top. But we are back underway here in Pittsburgh. 12 minutes to go. A shot by De Brusk is stopped by Seoff. He actually elects to play it and it’s Chris Latang now. Rust to Crosby. Crosby to Raquel. Raquel back to Crosby who tries to direct it towards goal but he can’t. Now it’s Raquel. Rust down low to Crosby. Back to the point. A shot I believe by Latang. And that was stopped by Lanken. It was shot by Carlson actually. And he holds on. So, honestly, the second period’s been more of the same. The Penguins having more of the puck. The Canucks can’t really cleanly enter the Penguins end as Ratu chips it in. The puck goes up way up into the air. Genny Malcin now up to Justin Brazo. Brazo 1 v one against Heronic and he runs out of space so he goes around the net. Justin Brazo. Back to Mantha. Back to Brazil. Checked by Hughes. And he was going to go off the boards to Sherwood who can’t really control it but shovels it to Evander Kane who tried to pass it to Sherwood but they couldn’t connect again. Just can’t effectively string some passes together right now. And Eric Carlson behind his own net. The Abbisford line is out for the Canucks. Here’s Quinn Hughes with the interception. Hughes with a shot. stopped. RT Bane’s now forchecking and the puck goes out. The pregame meeting has to be where coach says to each player, you’re better than each player on the other team, even Crosby. I think it’s yes, but at the same time it’s like I don’t think you can really say to like RD Baines or Max Assassin that you’re better than Crosby, right? But I I get the idea. You need to be having like the utmost confidence in yourself. Oh, Joseph Leate absolutely runs down Witherspoon, but Witherspoon actually does really well to get the puck back. Here’s your O Connor now. And it looks like Derer is going to dump the puck in. Here’s Joseph for the Conucks. Neils Oman across to Marcus Patterson. An interception. And a shot gets deflected wide and it goes out of play. It looks like 916 remaining in the second period. a very very scrappy game between these two teams. See, I don’t think you can tell like Archie Baines or like Max Assassin or Lenus Carlson that they’re better than Crosby, but you have to tell them that at the very least, do your job, do your role, limit the turnovers, play simple, and they’ll be effective because that’s what they have done since they’ve been reunited in the NHL. But I’m looking at that Kane Ratu Sherwood line and they need to do a little bit more. They need to be a little bit more in the face of Pittsburgh because right now we’re just letting them do whatever they want. They’re handling the puck. They’re entering the zone. I mean, Anthony Mantha and Justin Brazo should not be able to do one twos like this is soccer. You know what I mean? Like they should be I mean I know they’re also big physical players, but you got to match that. And I’m looking at Sherwood and Kane to do that and they just haven’t been. Our first line tonight has been virtually quiet after the Garland goal plus the first couple minutes of pressure. So somebody has to do something. It’s as simple as that. Somebody needs to make a difference because if if Garland didn’t score the goal in the first minute or two minutes, whatever it was, the Conucks would be losing and there and it doesn’t look like there’s going to be any sort of push back. So, we need a little bit more from these guys as Quinn Hughes has the second most offensive zone possession time in the league. He’s number two behind Conor McDavid. He’s the only defenseman in the top five. So, speaking of the top line for the Canucks, Elias Patterson back on the ice. The top line hasn’t been out there for a while, I’ve noticed. Or am I where am I bugging? As Person technically wins the draw, I believe, against Crosby, but the Conucks can’t get the puck. Tyler Myers and Elias Person out there. Ricard Raquel fighting with Meers for the puck. Here is Rust down low. Sydney Crosby tries to feather in front for Rust who directs it towards the net. Lankin holds on Raquel with a little tap on the glove of Lankin, but doesn’t warrant any physicality. Rust had 31 goals last season. Fair enough. So, it’s going to be Crosby against Ratu. Pittsburgh keeps their top line out there as the Canucks go with their third line. Shot by Vander Kane. Tries to chip it around. Evander Kane, he’s going to get a shot. Oh, no, he’s not. Brunick gets the puck off Kane’s stick. He had a wideopen shot and also a pass to Sherwood. That was crazy. What a play by Brunick. Caleb Jones pass intercepted. Here’s Quinn Hughes. Evander Kane with space. He plays it in front for Sherwood who can’t deflect it in. Sheilov’s there to intercept. And here comes Ratu. It’s another twoon-one. Lenz Carlson. No, it’s Ratu still. And his shot is deflected by Witherspoon up over the net. Honestly, I thought the Conucks were done, especially after three games with Person, but they’ve been killing it. Yeah. I don’t I don’t know. Like I think the the most eye opening one was probably the Dallas game because it was off the back of the Edmonton St. Louis game. And then that second period, they just went crazy. The Chicago game was a bit of a grind. Um, they were definitely deserving of all two points, especially if you look at the overtime period and then the shootout as well. I believe Nebraskal win. and I believe it was 4-3, but it was all Vancouver for most of that game until two of their guys had to leave and they were short-handed for essentially the entire game. So, I think the Abbottzford line has been killing it. I think Yeah, I mean, you can’t expect them to be 40 50 point guys. Here’s Joseph with a shot deflected by Carlson onto the net. She loves with a save. You can’t expect them to be a 50point line, but I think in a Stanley Cup winning team or at least a contending team, if they’re your fourth line, I think that’s a I think they’re that that’s their role and they can play that role very well. But I think the more that we see them in the top six and the more that we see them in these high danger matchups, I guess you could say, they’re going to get exposed. And I know this fan base is going to go kind of crazy, but I don’t know. We’ll see. Oh, and it’s a penalty taken by Drew O’ Conor. for what? A cross check. Tripping. I’m I’m sounding like a broken record at this point. The Conucks finally get some sort of offensive zone time. It’s the Abbottzford line and now it’s the fourth line out there. They finally get some momentum going and you take an offensive zone tripping penalty. So again, regardless, regardless if you look at the Conucks, sorry, I can’t speak right now. Regardless if the Canucks allow a goal on this penalty or not, it’s going to kill their momentum. And if Pittsburgh are going to continue like they did previously after the second the too many men power play, they’re going to just hold on to the puck and they’re they’re going to build off of this regardless because they’re a veteran team. And that’s what veteran teams do is they know that even after a power play is over, the other team’s penalty killers are tired, lineups get changed. So here is Pittsburgh on the power play. They have the puck in the zone. Eric Carlson at the top with a shot and it’s blocked. It comes out to rust. Tyler Myers is able to intercept and Connor Garland’s going to shoot this puck all the way down onto Arur’s CEOs. I’m happy we have our depth. If you look at Oilers’s prospects, it’s really bad. Well, I mean prospects wise. Oh, hold on. Malcin Crosby across and it goes to nobody. Raquel’s going to hold it. and I believe it was Nebrask. So if you look at prospect wise, I mean the Oilers are obviously not going to have the best prospect pool in the NHL because they’ve been so good for the last, you know, how many years, right? So drafting wise, they’re not going to really have those guys. But if you look at their depth, oh, hold on. Here’s Justin Brazo down low and it goes through to Kindle, but he couldn’t get it. A shot and a goal by the Penguins. Just too much space for Tommy Novak. And the Penguins are up 2-1. And that’s his first goal as a Pittsburgh Penguin. Let’s see how this happened here. So again, it’s the second power play unit for the Penguins that have actually looked more deadly than their top unit. Novak Elias Patterson just allows too much space and there’s no screen at all. So there’s no excuse here for Lankin. So let’s see. No, that’s just a perfect shot by Novak. Kindle goes down to the goal line. It doesn’t really take anybody with him. Not only was there a little gap between Heronic and Lankanin and where the puck ended up being in the net, but the shot on top of that to send it through all of that traffic was absolutely perfect by Novak. And what did I say? Kucks with pressure, conducts with momentum, they take a pen a penalty, it’s all gone. Um, so yeah, talking about like the Oilers for example with their depth, not that they don’t have depth. I actually think their depth is pretty good. Uh, Adam Henry, Trent Frederick, I think they’re deploying their players a little bit strange if I’m being totally honest. Like you have McDavid and Dryidle together to start the season and then that’s not working. And then I’m assuming they’ve split them up now. I haven’t watched a Oilers game recently. They have Seavoy from I believe it was like the Ryan Mloud trade or something like that who’s a decent prospect but again you you’re hoping for that guy to hit and and what is he going to win you a Stanley Cup? You know what I mean? But it really exposes I think with the Oilers when McDavid and Dry aren’t going. McDavid has his first goal of the season tonight, but when those guys aren’t going, it really shows the rest of the Oilers roster in terms of their ability to pick up the slack. Now, again, it’s only game seven, so let’s let’s relax a little bit on the narratives, but let’s just pay attention to the trends. I think the Oilers will be fine. They don’t have any major injuries. I think Zack Heyman’s still out and then he’s going to come back. He’s going to add to that. So, I wouldn’t too worry too much about the Oilers like being a like a wild card team. I think they’ll still have one of the divisional spots. And with the Canucks, our depth is really different to the Oilers. The Oilers depth is more I would say for like defensive needs like their their depth players. I mean, Adam Henrique, uh, Kaspari Ka, Matias Yanmar, they’re more defensive players, right? And they need them for penalty killing and and matchups. And that’s how their depth is kind of built. They’re bottom six. You look at the Conucks, I mean, Evander Kane, Archie Baines, Lenus Carlson, Kefir Sherwood, they’re more offensive players. Like, would you really trust Kane to defend a lead? Like, if you look at the game against Washington, Kane was on the ice in a onegoal game situation. We don’t know why. He’s just there and instead of getting the puck out, he does a drop pass into his own end. So I would much rather have a Matias Yanmark or a Hisperi Kain in a defensive situation than a Vanderane. Let’s just put it that way. But we’re back underway. 520 left in the second period. The Canucks now chasing this game. They’ve been chasing this game the entirety of the game like essentially after the first five minutes. Quinn Hughes with a shot and it got blocked. They’ve been chasing this game ever since the first five minutes were over and a oh a big hit by Sherwood. He’s hurt the Penguins player I believe. Very slow to get up. I don’t know who that was but he was visibly in pain. It was Nola Lachari for sure still on the ice. Drops to Quinn Hughes. Quinn Hughes loses the puck and this is danger. Evander Kane backing. It’s a shot stopped by Kevin Lankanin. Nola looked like he was in a [ __ ] ton of pain. Oh boy. The hit was fine. It’s just the fact that he went into the Kucks player and then he went into the boards and like folded his knee. Hey, the more people in here the better. It does not matter as long as we’re here to have a have a good time and hopefully see the Conucks win. Hopefully. But we’re here for vibes. 420 remaining in the second period. Top Conucks line is out with Marcus Person and Tyler Meyers. Here’s Garland across for Tyler Meyers down low. Patterson to Meyers. And Meyers can’t control the puck. freaking fly in my Oh, here is Novak with another shot. Tries to go five hole in Lankanin. Oh, I didn’t see what happened afterward. Apparently, Kindle went for the puck when Lankin had it. 355 remaining in the second period. I think the Conucks have had like four shots in this period. Like, what is happening? Yeah, Novak trying to go five hole. That wasn’t really a poke by Kindle if I’m being totally honest. I just put a stick there, but it is what it is. So, it’s going to be Crosby against Ratu on the draw. And Ratu wins the draw, but then Heronic just gives it right to Crosby. Sick. Russ with a nice move. Still Russ tries to tuck it again on Laninan and Lankin with the stop. Quinn Hughes getting beat there way too easily. The lead edges there from Rust to get the puck onto the inside. To be fair, Hughes did well to keep his stick there to make it difficult for Rust. So, it’s Ratu again on the draw. This time against Raquel because Crosby got waved off. But here is Crosby with a shot. Scores. And it’s 31 Pittsburgh. Oh boy. Oh boy. Crosby with his time playing with McKinnon at the Four Nations understands his positioning as a winger off the draw. Another clean another clean shot on Lankanin. Let’s see this Crosby. I don’t know if it got deflected by Sherwood’s stick, but I’m not going to lie, Lincoln needs to have that. It was a fluttering puck. It wasn’t really a clean shot by Crosby. And it’s 3-1 Pittsburgh. Three and a half minutes to go in the second period. The Conucks really need to go here. Max Assassin, Lenus Carlson. Carlson doing very well to get the puck back to Elias Patterson. His shot blocked. Rebound. Sassin tries to hook it back for Carlson, but he gets it back. Sassin fans on the shot, but gets Marcus Patterson the puck across for Elias Patterson. This is what I like to see. Elias Patterson. Sassin with a shot wide. Here’s Marcus Person with a slap shot deflected by Lenus Carlson wide. Brunick gets the puck around. The Conucks keep it in. The Abbottzford line doing very well right now. Sassin in front. Elias Person shot. Stop. Rebound. Sassin. Where’s the puck? It’s under Sheiloffs. He doesn’t have it actually. It’s loose. And the Conucks almost get a goal on the board. But here’s Malcolin now. Around shot rebound. That’s got to be in. That’s got to be in. It is. It’s 4-1. Unbelievable, man. Oh my goodness. The Conucks come inches away from making this a one-goal game. And going the other way, it’s of Malcolin with a power move to the net. Max Assassin. I don’t know what he was doing defensively. It goes off the pad of Lankin and Anthony Mantha. gets his stick onto it. The Abby line was out there for way too long. They needed to back check and it’s 4-1. Oh boy. See, this this is the issue, right? This this is the issue. I mean, there did Lankan get pushed into his net? Yes. But I mean there’s there’s no way that’s goalie interference, right? So and the Canucks ice the puck. 224 remaining in the second period. I mean if they can get one before the end of the period. Oh, that’s so annoying. That’s so annoying. It It’s pretty comparable to Calgary and Vancouver. first game of the season for the Canucks where Coronado could have made it a onegoal game and it turns out to be a a goal by Hedel I believe it was to make it a three-goal game. Here’s Okconor now gets checked at the blue line. Here’s Raquel. Tries to drop a potential twoon one maybe. Here’s Lebate. Oh, it’s Okconor now actually. And Crosby back checks. And Heronic shoots it back into the Pittsburgh end. A minute 40 to go in the second period. Man, this is this is just this is brutal. And the Penguins ice the puck. I can’t say it’s not deserved either. Pittsburgh has been the better team. I mean, I hate I hate to say it, but the Person line has been nowhere to be found. It’s been Crosby versus Ratu. It’s been Person against Achari. And Achari wins the faceoff. Like they’re why are they why do they consistently lose against lines they should be beating? Like I don’t get it. Blake Lazelle with a shot deflected stopped by Laninan. And here’s Quinn Hughes out wide to Connor Garland. Connor Garland to the middle tries to pass to Person who was cutting to the middle of the net. Can’t connect. Philip Heronic now goes back for Hughes. Hughes for De Brusk. De Brusk for Garland again. No, no clean passes. Passes into the feed every single time. Here’s heronic now. 50 seconds left in this period. Tipped in. I believe Person now is going to go for a change. The Ratu line comes out. Here’s Kindle now. Sherwood to Kane. Kane with a step. Hold on to Vander Kane. Centers. Sherwood shot deflected and it stays in play. Actually, it looked like it went out here. Sherwood tries to get to Kane. Hand pass. In what universe was there a hand pass? 23.2 seconds remaining in the second period. The Canucks down by three. Just not enough. It’s just not enough. So, the Abbottzford line is going to end the period here against the Malcolan line. And even though Malcolin’s line has a goal on them, I think they’ve held their own pretty well. 10 seconds to go. Malcolin gets a step of Genny Malcin stopped by Lanken. Are they going to call a penalty? No, they’re not. Elias Person getting the stick in the hands. They could have easily called that a holding or a hooking and Kevin Lanken again having to face just a ton of power moves to the net. I wonder if that was offside. And to end the period, it’s going to be Crosby with Malcolin. 4 seconds. They cannot allow a goal. They cannot allow a goal. The shot goes wide by Latang. And that is how the period’s going to end. I mean, what what do they do going to the third? Oh, I’m a little unfocused. Hold on. We good? Yeah, we’re good. So, usually in these scenarios, the Conucks would switch up the lines, but like what like what lines can you change? You can only really change the Ratu and the and the Patterson line. So, maybe you go Kane with Person and Garland because they have previous experience together, but then that leaves to Brussatu and Sherwood, which I don’t really like. It it really it’s just going to come down to the the Canucks best players stepping up. That’s that’s how this uh that’s how this is going to go. So, for this period, we’re going to do a or sorry, for this intermission, we’re going to do a couple things. So, first we’re going to we’re going to go through Kuck’s Twitter because because why not? So, we got uh Louis Ericson’s left nut saying, “My expectations for this game were low, yet you guys still found a way to disappoint.” Shout out to Louis Ericson’s left nut. Uh, we got goalie friend. That’s an embarrassing period. Can’t make a pass that doesn’t involve the boards and can’t make a save. I mean, I understand the frustration on the on the passing. I can’t really blame uh Lanken for the saves or not. Well, actually, not going to lie, he should have had a couple of those. Um, Wyatt from the Stansion says, uh, Knox got absolutely murdered by the Russian that period. Holy smokes. Definitely not wrong. Uh, somebody says, “How many games till Hughes leaves?” Uh, it’s okay. The Canucks were just inspired by the Blue Jays and wanted to have their own late comeback. That’s not exactly how goal scoring works in the NHL, but okay. I do need to be careful though because it is it is Twitter. Oh, we got a potential South Park uh thing there. So, I’m just going to skip through that. Uh somebody saying lock in, please. Great to see Quinn Hughes look so checked out seven games into the season. Lo revenge game. Coff has been pretty decent, but I wouldn’t say he’s had to like made make some crazy saves. Somebody said embarrassing. Sell the effing team. Um, way to go to Bruss for stepping up when injuries pile up. Oh, wait. So, safe to say people are not happy with the Canucks as as Kermit has has jumped off the building. Okay, so next up we’re going to do a um what was it called? It’s Puck Doku. That’s what it’s called. We’re going to do Pakoku. So, for those of you who don’t know how this game works, so put in the chat your um answers actually need fix my hair. Um so, if any of you are in the chat, so how Paku works is you have teams at the top. Well, you could have more than teams. You can have teams or categories um that are at the top as well as down the side. And basically, you need to match or you need to put a player that matches both categories. So, for example, in this top left square, we need to put somebody who’s played for Tampa and Carolina. Now, there is a certain percentage per player. So, basically, if it’s a more obvious player that other people may have guessed, then your percentage is going to be like really high up. And the goal is to have the best uniqueness. So ideally of a uniqueness of like under 20 or something like that uh would be ideal. So if you are in the chat and you want to participate then uh I am definitely open for it. But for example, let’s do what’s most like niche player that we can think of here. So we have Tampa Bay and there’s also goals against average under 3.0. 04 a season. So if I click it, it says player must have played on the team the season that the stat was recorded. So I’m just trying to think like I don’t think Seth Jarvis ever played for Toronto, so that won’t work. He needs to at least play a regular or postseason game on either team. San Jose Carolina. So, there’s like Brett Burns, but that’s too obvious, right? I feel like usually goalies are pretty good to to guess here. Toronto and Pittsburgh. I mean, they have Nola. There’s and and remember like you can put a player that’s existed for like or that’s played for the end of time like you can put somebody from the 80s if you want. So I’m trying to think like Toronto and somebody other than Nola who else has played for Pittsburgh. Um, defenseman Ryan Reeves. Did Reeves play for Pittsburgh? I feel like he might have. I’m going to I’m just going to put Nola just cuz I think it’s safe. But this might Oh, there was also Hold on. Did John Michael Lyles Hold on. John Michael Liles played for John Michaels played for um for Carolina 1%. Okay, here we go. So yeah, you can get like if it’s really obvious, they might be like 50%. So the percentage represents everybody else who’s played today if they’ve guessed a player. So that means only 1% of people who played today have guessed John Michaels for the square. And so right now we’re at a unique a uniqueness of one. I could speak. It was bound to happen. Look at our lineup. Exactly. Like I mean what what do you expect? Um so now we’re doing Pogku because we need some fun in our lives, right, as Kucks fans. Um so yeah, if you weren’t listening before or you weren’t in the stream. So basically there’s a top row and there’s a side row and you need to put a player that matches for both. and you want to put the most unique player for that. So, Toronto and Pittsburgh. So, obviously Noari who’s playing tonight, that is an option. Did Martin Jones play for Pittsburgh? I feel like usually goalies do well in these um Toronto and Pittsburgh. Joffrey Lupal. Did Lupal play for Pittsburgh? Um, trying to think. Spettza is a member of the staff in Pittsburgh. He’s like assistant general manager. Um, maybe we’ll come back to that one. We have Tampa and Carolina. So, I think Anthony D’Angelo works. Did Duclair play for Carolina? Do you play for Pittsburgh? Not sure. Tampa. What other players of Tampa play or players on Tampa? Um, San Jose, Carolina. The only one I can think of is like I think Justin Williams. Wait, no. What am I talking about? San Jose. Justin Williams. Jesus. He played for Washington. And who else? Yeah, he played for Carolina. Oh, it was LA. LA Kings, not San Jose. Uh, San Jose and Pittsburgh. Did Cody Cece ever play for either of those teams? San Jose. San Jose. Um, this is actually a difficult grid. I’m not going to lie. Who played for Tampa or Carolina? I’m trying to think of the old Carolina team. So like Yanni Pitkin. Uh obviously have the stalls. I think D’Angelo paid for Tampa, too. I’m going to go with Tony D’Angelo, but I can’t really think of anybody like anybody else. That was wrong. Oh my. Did D’Angelo not play for Tampa? Well, this has gone to trash. I’m just going to do Nolachari now. Okay, 2% is actually pretty good. That’s a lot better than I was expecting. I’m just going to fire off stuff that comes to my head. Um, Pittsburgh, Tampa. Oh, what was that one guy’s name? He played for Vancouver, too. Um, shoot. What’s his name? Uh, not Anderson. Oh my gosh. What was his name? Glen Denning. Oh, no. But I think one of them was Adam, one of them was Luke. Yeah. No, I can’t do that. Uh, Tampa any goalies? Did Andre Lindbeck ever play for Pittsburgh? Probably not. Ben Bishop played for Dallas, not Pittsburgh. Thomas Vun. Did he play for Tampa? I think he did, right? I mean, I’ve already messed up this grid. Yeah, I already messed up. This This is cooked. Um I swear Vun played for for Tampa. Pittsburgh and San Jose. So, which who’s the obvious one here? Eric Carlson, probably. Anybody else? So, I’m thinking like Cody Cece, but I don’t think Cece ever played for San Jose. Oh, no. He did play Wait, didn’t he play for San Jose and then get traded to Dallas last year and then now he’s in LA? I just don’t know if he played for Pittsburgh, though. I’m just going to try it. 1%. Okay, we finally got one. Only have four shots left. The goals against average under three in a season. I feel like it’s kind of hard to do that like with San Jose. Is that like NI because you have to do it with San Jose. So that’s like Nabakov and that’s pretty much it. Toronto’s like I think Joseph Wool I think Stellar’s and probably Rhymer is the only three although they did have Curtis Mhaney but that was probably over three and then Tampa is pretty much same thing. You have Bishop, you have uh Mel Haney as well, actually. You have Basilfki. Trying to think of older Tampa players. Oh, that was a mistake. Um, I’m going to go to Toronto. I’m just going to put Should I put Rhyr or Wool? Feel like Stellar is too obvious. Who are the Mhane is like a reach. That’s such a reach. Rhymer is not a bad team. I’m going to put Joseph Wool. That’s not how you spell it. 6%. Understandable. Uh I still have three shots to be honest. So I can still go like do I want to go Lindbeck or Linderback, whatever the hell his name is. I’m maybe Curtis Mlhaney. Mel Curtis Mlaney. Screw it. Let’s go. 2%. Curtis Mhaney. The GOAT. Um, okay. So, we have two shots left. I feel like San Jose we can’t do. Oh, wait. Who is um No, there’s no way. Ben Scrivens. There’s no way. There’s There’s no way. Under three. No. Um, I don’t really have other players, though. That’s the problem. Screw it. Let’s go. Let’s go Tampa, Pittsburgh. I already got that one wrong, though. I kind of want to go for a different one cuz I got these two wrong. Maybe we can go San Jose, Carolina. Yeah, the obvious one being Brett Burns. any goalies that used to play? Got Cam Ward, Niami, Nebakov. Uh, I’m not sure. The game might be back underway, so I don’t even know what the hell’s going on at this point. Um, let’s just go San Jose and let’s go with Actually, I’ve kind of already screwed this up. I want to go with Ben Grivens just just to see what happens. Ah, it didn’t work. Uh, and then last one, we’ll just go Brett Burns just to complete this. So, uniqueness of 361, which was absolutely terrible, but it is what it is. A little bit of fun. Let’s go back to the hockey here. And we’re still actually in commercial break. So yeah, just a little bit of uh intermission fun because we’re getting absolutely cooked right now and there’s not much that we can do if I’m being totally honest. What other what other topic can we talk about with the Canucks? I mean, yeah, it it is a little bit worrying. Like, Pittsburgh have good players, but their team’s not great. So, the fact that we’re down 4-1, I mean, the rush, like they absolutely killed us off the rush to uh or in that second period. Sydney Crosby has just passed Mariel Lemieux for most points regular season and playoffs combined all time and he’s 34 away from Eiserman which he’ll probably get this season. See, this game is so much different to the to the to the Oilers and like the St. Louis game because I was mad for those games. Like I was frustrated. I was heated. This game I’m just disappointed. I am just disappointed. 2011 we lost because of Aaron Rome. I mean, but Tom Wilson, I mean, is is chilling. But anyways, that’s that’s besides the point. We’re underway here in the third period. The Conucks down by three, and they’ve already conceded a 2011 to Crosby and Rust. And we were able to deflect it wide. So, Atu Ratu going up against the Crosby line. I just don’t understand why the Person line can’t be effective when they’re getting favorable matchups. I just don’t get it. I know Nolari is a good defensive player, but I don’t think there should be a universe where you’re matching up against the other team’s best players. 1919 remaining in the third base off one by the Canucks. Elias Patterson couldn’t get it cleanly. So now it’s in the Conucks end. And I another pass into the feet Malcolm. And that’s a holding penalty. A very bad penalty for Malcolm to take to start the period for the Canucks. They go on the power play. They need to execute. They absolutely need to execute on this power play. It’s weird. That play happens all the time where like the forching player kind of does a step around the defender and kind of uses him as a propel a propeller I guess to like pull him forward. But that one it was just like obvious and egregious. So 1859 the Canucks on the power play. They lose the draw. Witherspoon’s gonna shoot it all the way down. Honestly, it doesn’t matter too much to me like whether or not they’re set up in the first minute or the second minute. It’s it’s about creating chances and scoring. So, if they do that with 5 seconds left or two minutes left, like it doesn’t matter. Just score. Here is Hughes. Back to Garland. Here’s Hughes with a shot. High shot stopped by CEOs. Minute 27 remaining on the power play. 1826 in the third. Let’s get the puck to Person more on the power play. Like he’s been doing not a whole lot. Noari wins the faceoff again against Person. And they’re saying that the puck went up into the netting, so it will stay in the Pittsburgh end. Keeper Sherwood with the Michael Jackson gloves. The Canucks finally get the draw on their side of the center or the faceoff dot, but they lose the puck battle and Pittsburgh just sends it back into the Conucks end. A minute left in the power play. Hughes Patterson looking for an option. He has nobody with him. It’s a twoonone. Person gets knocked down and Hughes can’t get the [ __ ] as it goes out of the zone. Connor Garland bumps into his own guys, but he gets the puck into the zone and finally the Conucks are set up with 35 seconds to go in this power play. Quinn Hughes. Connor Garland looking for space. Drops for Hughes. But that puts Hughes in a weird situation on the left half. Well, now it’s Connor Garland. Penderson with the shot and he rips it high and wide. Put it on the net. You’ve done nothing all game. Just a one-time. Put it on net, man. And Connor Garland, I don’t know what he’s doing. Oh my goodness. The Conucks half going for a change, half a What was that? What was that power play? You get gifted that golden opportunity to get back in this game and you do that. 1640 remaining in the third period. The Canucks need something or anything to go their way. Evander Kane for checking on Witherspoon. Ratu. Ratu wins the puck back. Still Ratu back to the point. Meyers. Marcus Person. Terrible. Like Meers is not thinking about the situation he’s putting Marcus Person in. Terrible angle. Traffic in front of him. His shot gets blocked. So it goes out, but it’s back in the Pittsburgh end now. It’s Joseph Lebate for checking. Brunick is able to get the puck out. And how did this puck just Oh my Are you serious? Oh my goodness. How just a puck lifted up in the air and it lands right on the stick of Justin Brazil and Marcus Pettison is all over him. And then he gets called for a a hold. Wait, how did Brazil was holding what? Brazil was holding was holding Marcus better there. Whatever. If Pittsburgh scores here, it’s pretty much game over for the Canucks. And it looks like something happened at the faceoff and Pittsburgh wins the draw. Rust a little high low play. Raquel looking for Crosby and Meyers clears the puck down the ice. I mean, more importantly than anything is this kills off two minutes for Penguin, for the Pittsburgh Penguins, regardless if they score or not. Sherwood short-handed tries to make a move around Raquel. And Raquel stands his ground. Okconor and Sherwood trying to create something, but now it’s going to be a twoon two. Rust Malcolin Myers is going to intercept and the Canucks are going to get a full line change as COVID handles it behind his own net. Lays it off for Chris Latang. Here comes the dangerous second power play unit for the Pittsburgh Penguins. Here is Brazo back to the point. It’s Chris Latang. Latang into the middle. Samantha Novak, who already has a goal, shoots it wide. 40 seconds to go. Oh, it’s Justin Brazil with a shot straight at Lankenin who holds on. 31 seconds to go in the Vancouver penalty. 1424 remaining in the third period. Again, this second power play unit has been way more deadly for the Penguins than their top unit. They get a goal from Tommy Novak. And they’re entrusted with a minute of the two-minute minor. Tyler Myers shoots the puck off the boards and down the ice. The Penguins looking to at least gain the zone as the power play expires. Here’s Latang who’s going to shoot the puck into the opposite corner. Mantha in front for Brazil. Just Oh my gosh, they’re making it look so easy. The second power play unit for Pittsburgh. A shot into the opposite corner. It comes right out to Anthony Mana who hooks it into the middle and Justin Brezo doesn’t shoot it. He shovels it into the top corner. And I don’t know who that was. It was Joseph and somebody else. Joseph and Connor Garland can’t get a stick or their body in front of that shot. 51. You’re slacking. This is ridiculous. You have not uploaded any content last. Hey, listen. When you upload videos when they’re winning, nobody cares. But this video is going to bang. It’s It’s mind games, right? It’s mind games. Max Assassin with a shot. Rebound for Lenus Carlson. Can’t put the puck into the back of the net. Cuz think about it, the the last one I did, well, the last Tik Toks I uploaded. Oh, hold on. Here’s Neils Oman with a shot. He puts it wide. The last kind of viral Tik Tok I posted on uh uh it was after the St. Louis game where Patterson was absolutely terrible and I got a video that did 20k views. So it’s relax you have lost a subscriber. I did not sign up for this. I want to see connect content not only when they lose. Trust me you’re going to be seeing a lot of losing in the next like three games. So regardless if it’s for me or not, just just get used to it. So like always, make sure to leave a like on the stream and subscribe for more. It helps a small channel, a small content creator such as myself. And if you have any questions for me, drop it in the chat. Or any thoughts on the game. I mean, it’s it’s it’s hard to be positive. I mean, we saw Kucks Twitter earlier. It wasn’t uh it wasn’t it wasn’t great. Okay, you know what? If that’s the case, then then that’s fine. Like you’re acting like I don’t know where you live. I know where you live. So unsubscribe. Do it. Do it. We’re pretty much just waiting for the time to expire here on this one. 4-1 it was doable. 5-1 now with how much time’s left. It was a great play by Mantha, I will say, to just hook it into the slot. But alltime leaders by defenseman in assists 600 for Latang. Now Bobby or is only 15th. That’s crazy. No, no, I’m not. I I I won’t. I absolutely won’t. You will never see me and that guy in the same room here. Sherwood now. 1245 remaining in the third period. The Knox down by four and there’s a penalty on the play. Is it on the Penguins? It is on the Penguins. Oh, that’s more of a trip than interference. But Philip Hollander, I believe is his name. So, the Cucks get another golden opportunity. This time they’re down by four instead of three. But if it’s going to start at any time, it’s going to start now. No, they’re not on this channel. That’s not what we talk about or post about. Patterson to Hughes. Hughes to Patterson. Patterson with a shot. stopped by Seov’s rebound comes out, but Penguins or the Penguins clear it, but he shoots it into his own bench. So, that should be back into the Penguins end. What do you do once all the volleyball videos are done? Sleep, play FC? I don’t know. Depends on what I’m doing. And Patterson loses the draw again and the puck is sent all the way down. Actually gets tangled in the feet of Lanin, but he’s able to lay it off to Hughes. Scott Road is going to be lit tonight. That one Edmonton Oilers fan is going to go crazy. Back to the point as Quinn Hughes fakes the shot. Garland back to Hughes. Takes the shot. Shoots it well wide. Garland now back to the point. Hughes. Person. Tons of space down low. Kane. Back to Person. Hughes with the shot. Shoots it wide. Kane. And it goes to Cobs who covers. We got first. We got favorite type of tree. oak or apple tree. I don’t know. I think Kucks would like to get the goalie back from the Penguins. I I don’t think they ever wanted to trade CEOs. I don’t think that was ever the the idea, but the fact that he won the CER cup with Abbottzford last year and the fact that they didn’t want to part ways with Demco and they already extended Lankanin, it just put them in a situation where Cavs was too good for the AHL and so they had to move him. And if you look at Lankin and and Demco this season, they’ve been pretty good. So, it is what it is. Here’s Quinn Hughes now. 15 seconds remaining on the power play. 11 minutes to go in the third period. Here is Philip Heronic to Hughes. Still Hughes makes a move. Hughes goes around the net to Heronic with the shot and he puts it wide and Archie Baines can’t collect the puck. Connor Der is going to ice the puck actually. So at the very least the Conucks are going to get offensive zone draw again. Another another opportunity. They get a power play. Can generate Jack? Thoughts on Vancouver getting a basketball team? Oh, the shot was actually blocked by Latang. I mean, we saw the turnout for the Raptors uh preseason game here. Oh, hold on. Shot stopped by CEOs. Carlson can’t get the rebound. So yeah, the there was a preseason game here and the turnout I believe it was a soldout building for I think it was the Raptors and the Thunder or something like that. I know the Dallas Mavericks were in town and so there is definitely there’s definitely definitely a fan base here that wants an NBA team. It’d be kind of crazy for us to get a team before Seattle. I’m being totally honest. Here’s Joseph with the shot. Stopped by Seops. Joseph keeps it in. Carlson. Joseph. Heronic. I like the setup from the Canucks having one of the defensemen a little bit off of the blue line. Joseph down low to Ratu. Ratu and Herona can’t control. I think the main problem with Vancouver and I think it’s going to get really exposed next year at the World Cup. Hold on. Heronic with a shot deflected wide. I think it’s going to get really exposed next year with the World Cup coming here. is there’s going to be is is the problem is that there’s so many buildings so many like industrial areas around our sports arenas and stadiums. Shurwood with a shot stopped by Sheilov’s who or farms a little bit grabs it and then drops it. So the problem is like like where are they going to play? Are they going to play at Rogers Arena? So then we have the Canucks playing there. We have a Vancouver team playing there. We have um the PWHL I’m sure is going to have a couple games there. Uh what else? Uh there’s going to be concerts. There’s going to be all sorts of things, right? We’ve seen the WWE come here twice in the last couple years. So you have all these events happening at Raj Arena. BC Place is its own thing. You have the Lions playing there. You have the White Caps playing there. You have concerts there. The White Caps are trying to get their own stadium on the P& grounds. It’s just it’s just a bit of a mess if I’m being totally honest. So, getting a basketball team in Vancouver, getting a uh maybe a WNBA team in Vancouver, even though they’d probably go to Toronto first. There’s just there’s just too many logistics. I mean, the Conucks don’t even have a practice facility. They practice at UBC. So there’s just there’s too many like semantics and things behind it that makes it a problem to add another sports team to the city, a major sports team. And like we already have issues with commute and transit and all these things in the city of Vancouver with the current state that it’s in. And then next year you’re going to invite potentially hundreds of thousands or tens of thousands of people into the city for the World Cup. So there it’s going to be a mess. It’s going to be a big mess, a big problem. But in terms of the fan base and the support, 100% Vancouver deserves a basketball team again. 8:45 remaining in the third period. The Conucks win the offensive zone draw. Marcus Patterson goes across to Tyler Meyers. Brunick is able to break the puck out for Pittsburgh. Marcus Patterson up the boys to Vander Kane. Kane with Okconor and Sherwood here. So, who’s the center on this line? They’re just going with three wingers. Kane down low to Okconor tries to put it in front for Sherwood. It falls to Marcus Patterson instead. Sherwood and Patterson play catch. Shot is blocked. And here’s Kindle. Kindle’s going to retreat and go for a change. Marcus Patterson gloves the puck down, but Raquel’s all over him. Garland now plays it behind the net to Tyler Myers. 745 remaining in the third period. Myers just fires the puck all the way down the ice for an icing. The Conucks play the Oilers Sunday. Oh, it’s the 26th. Yeah, they play the They play the Canadians. Wait, am I bugging? I thought the Canucks play the Canadians on the Sunday. Oh, they play the Canadians on Saturday and then the Oilers on Sunday. Well, the Conucks might be screwed. They might be screwed. I knew they play the Oilers again in October, but I guess I just forgot about it. That’s going to be fun. Conor Garland, what a move that might be considered offside if this goal if this goes in. Elias Person shot goes wide. Here’s Gwen Hughes. Little spinama from Garland to enter the zone. Here’s Elias Patterson who’s really been flying in the offensive zone tonight. Alias Parson with a shot off the glove of Sheilovs and the Penguins are going to not ice. What are these What are they doing? And somebody’s wearing a De Bruyne jersey. What the heck? The Pittsburgh Penguins with with a routine ice because they were up against it and the Conucks lazily get back. I think it was Patterson going off for a line change and then Nola try beats them out for the ice. Oh my goodness. Here’s Neil’s Oman fourth line trying to conjure anything. There’s like been no high danger chances. It’s just been shots from the point, shots from the perimeter. Like just make a mess out of it. Like I don’t want to say run the goalie, but like get in his face. This is Cops. We know he doesn’t really have, you know, a lot of height to him. Absur line can’t can’t connect to home pass. That’s been the story like like when’s the last time the Canucks strung like four passes together as Pittsburgh does just that. Malcolin across Mantha looking for Brazil. Mantha off the post. Anthony Mantha on the back end. You see they strung four passes together and they created a goal scoring opportunity. Five minutes to go in the third period and they turn the puck over. It’s Hollander with the shot stopped by Lankanin. Just lazy. They just want this game to be over. Drew O’ Conor. He for sure would now at the end of their shift. I believe Evander Kane’s wide open. Drew O’ Connor with his head down. Doesn’t see him. Here’s Kane. Throws the puck to the net. Stopped by Seoff, I believe, when he was now Elias Person with a shot blocked by somebody. Here’s Quinn Hughes now. Four minutes to go. Hughes trying to just go at it himself because he can’t really do anything else. Here’s Neil’s Oman atu Ratu. We got two centers out there together. A bit of a weird mixup by Adam Foot. Here’s Quinn Hughes with a shot and it goes wide. Heronic Ratu Hughes shot blocked. Crosby Raquel and they’re going to hold on as Pittsburgh gets a change going here. Nolari Phil Peron’s going to backhand it down. as far as Eric Carlson. Here’s Lazot. Tries to throw it in front, but it’s blocked by Heronic. And Joseph takes a cross-checking penalty. Great. The Conucks are going to the penalty kill. Fantastic. Does that pop up? Let’s see. The game is over. Yeah, it’s it’s been over. I mean, if we’re being totally honest, it it’s been over since I think the 4-1 goal. Yeah, let’s just say the 4-1 goal because it was 3-1. The Abbosphere line gets a great chance by Mac Assassin. It goes down the other way and then if Danny Malcin makes a move to the net and they make it 4-1. So, a huge swing there, right? Could have been a one-goal game. turns out to be a three-goal game. And then that power play goal by Brazil. They deserved it to be honest. That second unit power play was really good all night for Pittsburgh. Tommy Novak, I think, got the 3-1 goal and then Justin Brezo gets the 51 goal. So that was really the insurance marker. That was the nail in the coffin for the Canucks tonight, that 5-1 goal. But for me, it was done. It was done at 4-1. And if you’ve been watching this game, outside of the first five minutes, it’s been all Pittsburgh. Like, yeah, I thought I they’re showing a Vander Kane here as I believe the player of the game for the Conucks. which you’re really you’re picking a bunch of crap out of a pile of crap. But I thought he looked pretty decent with his speed. We don’t really view Kane as a fast player, but maybe because he’s been playing with McDavid for the last like three years or two years, whatever it’s been, that he looks a little bit slower than what he actually is. And when you put him on the Conucks, a team who is generally slow, he looks like the Flash. The Pittsburgh Power Play tonight, two for four. And they are starting with their second unitish. Not really. It’s their fourth line actually. It’s Hollander, Kindle, Novak, Brunick, and I believe that’s Caleb Jones. So, it’s really it’s a fourth line shift. They’re getting some power play time. So, if they score here, oh boy. Oh, boy. Kept in by Caleb Jones. Novak down low. Hollander back. Bruna Kindle with a nice play to Jo to Caleb Jones. Almost said Joseph. He’s in the box. A minute to go here in the power play. Two minutes to go in the game. A disappointing, pitiful performance by the Canucks. I mean Pittsburgh fully deserving of the two points here. A centering pass from Achari and a right pad save by Lankanin. Here’s Witherspoon now. 25 seconds remaining on the power play. It’s Lazot to Achari trying to play a doer in front. Heronic clearing attempt goes off of his own guy and back into Lankanin. I’ve never seen the Canucks so checked out like like even like in the other games that they’ve been down like St. Louis and and Dallas or sorry not Dallas, St. Louis and Edmonton at least they were kind of showing some some sort of push. But this game I mean it is just so obvious that they just want to get this over with. Here’s Kindle. Is it Kindle or Rindle? I don’t know. Novak just dancing on the Conucks players. Power play is over. A minute to go here in the third period. Witherspoon. Hollander. It is Kindle. For some reason, I thought that was like Rendell or something like that. Witherspoon hounded down by Kefir Sherwood as he turns it over to Joseph Leate who chips it in to the middle or into the Pittsburgh end from the middle of the ice. 25 seconds to go. A nice stretch pass to Nolachari. Elias Person all over him. Lazot with a nice move around Elias Ferson. Back to the point. I think that was Caleb Jones with a shot. Blocked by Lebate. And Lebate is going to chip it in as the Vancouver Conucks lose to the Pittsburgh Penguins. 51. Arur Celovs stops 24. Sorry, it stops 23 of 24. And so before we end the stream, we’re going to do two things. So, first I’m going to open it up to the chat if you guys have anything you want to put um for now, questions or just thoughts on the game or thoughts in general. First, we’re going to do that. So, I’ll I’ll open it up to you guys for a little bit and then we’re going to be doing a full game review that is going to be posted on to I believe, yeah, we’ll do a full game review and if you guys want to put questions or whatever like while I’m doing the review, I will get to them towards the end. And that review will be put on to uh this channel. So, I did miss the last two games, which was unfortunate because especially the Washington game, I thought they played very well. But let me close this so that they’re not in my ear anymore. Actually, before we do the review, we’re going to go back onto Canucks Twitter cuz uh hopefully we um don’t see anything that’s going to get me cancelled. So the swervan Irvin says sell the team. We’ve been saying that. Uh Leonard says for me it shows it’s 24 out of 25. I mean doesn’t really matter at the end of the day. Um so contribution report card from bench rates. So let’s take a look at this. So it says that green represents individual offensive EV. Is that efficiency? Um, positive contribution, negative contribution. So, if the bar is thicker, they did well. And if it’s if it’s not, then it’s a little bit confusing to read this one. I know there’s um shoot, what it’s not the deserve to win meter. There’s another thing that um shows the impact that players have. It’s a little bit easier to read than this one, but pretty much Garland was our best player. I don’t think anybody can really disagree with that. When it comes to uh Person, it looks like he didn’t do much, but when he did do something, he was decent, I guess. I don’t know. This is a little bit confusing. Uh let’s take a look. Uh, Martin JD says, “TBH, to be honest, sloppy game from the boys. Hughes needs to wake up. PD is rubbing off on him. Just go strong against Nashville.” I mean, I don’t even think those guys played together that much tonight. Someone said, “Not mad, can’t win them all.” I think that’s fair, right? I mean, threeame winning streak, road trip, travel, legs are heavy, AHL guys. I think that’s fair to be like can’t win them all. Lanky mid tonight. Foot’s deployment awful. Forward group as a whole is weak with all these missing bodies. I mean, you’re missing Besser, your best goal scorer. You’re missing Heedle, your second line center. You’re missing Bluger, your third line center. So, his deployment, I mean, what are you supposed to do? You’re deploying guys who aren’t regular players. So, I could he have done better, I guess. Uh, lanky mid tonight. I mean, the Crosby goal, if I’m being totally honest, I would have liked him at least to get a piece of it. When it comes to I think what was the Brazil goal, Justin Brazo’s fifth goal of the game. Oh, not his fifth goal, but the Penguin’s fifth goal of the game that I would say probably he should have done a little bit better even though the puck got hidden by a little bit, but I don’t know. I would say at least two goals like should have had. This guy says, “What an effing embarrassing performance. Tell foot to kiss his ass goodbye before Aqualini fires his ass and hires Dbor because that was embarrassing. Seaws cook the Canucks. Langnon should take a discount for the next 10 games, loser. Jesus. Holy, the state of Kuck’s Twitter is hilarious. This guy, that was too funny. I mean, Pete Dbor is just going to throw our goalies under the bus. He did that to the Smith, not sorry, not the Smith, Oter in the last playoffs. That’s why he got fired in the first place. So, he’s going to do the same thing to Lankin and Demco. get already partied. Sure. I’m not upset because so many of our good forwards were out and the connects were honestly doing their best against the icon that is already party. Again, a good perspective to have. Um, the Canucks need a top six center. I think that’s that’s been the case. again. I don’t want to get cancelled, so I probably have some buttons ready. Um, that would be this one. Not a good game by Conucks tonight. They could have won this game with their quick start, but nope. Folded and that was it. On to the final road game. That’s the thing, too. They came off to a flying start. They get a goal to start the game and then they just kind of turtled. You know what I mean? Like this is why against Dallas when they were up by I think it was two goals heading into the third period. No, they’re up by three. I think I fully expected them to just like turtle and just play defense, not play any offense. And that’s what when they had a multi-goal lead. They were up one and after five minutes they just absolutely turtled. Well, that was no fun to watch. Yeah. I mean, could I have spent my almost three hours at this point? 2 hours 45 minutes doing something else? Maybe. But that’s what it means to be a fan. Lomeo just beat this trash ass team. Yeah, maybe you should play Quinn at center next time. I don’t know. final from Pittsburgh. Uh, suffering Kucks fan says, “Team looks lost, especially Hughes. This is foot hockey, everyone. 11.6 million out there looking like the third Kardashian Kardashian sister.” Jesus. Oh my god. This is This is so funny. I think I’m going to compile all the best ones I’ve seen and then put them into one video and put that on TikTok. This is so funny. Penguins went 5-1 over the Canucks and he’s lifting the cup. Okay. Uh Cops is a very weird goalie. He always gets the goal against him in the first 10 minutes of the first period. After first 10 minutes of playing, he has a 95 same percentage. I don’t understand. Yeah, it’s it’s one of those things where like some goalies they I don’t I don’t know. It’s hard to explain because some goalies they like getting a lot of shots on them so that they can get into a rhythm. Other goalies don’t like any shots. You know what I mean? Um and even like if we look at the context of the goal that he allowed, it’s in the first minute and a half, two minutes of the game. It’s a low blocker shot with no screen in front. And it’s from Connor Garland who I don’t know Leonard’s if you’re a Canucks fan or if you’re a a Pittsburgh fan, but Connor Garland is not known for his shot. So if it was Person, if it was Heronic, if it was Hughes, even De Brusker, Kane, Sherwood this season, I would understand. But Connor Garland’s not really a sniper. He’s more of a playmaker. So the fact that that was um the goal he let in was a little bit strange. But it is what it is. Uh Refreshy MD says there is zero reasons four players should have more ice time than Person. Yeah, I don’t know why was Person like I don’t understand. He wasn’t on the ice like often, especially in that second period which was weird. Like I don’t know why. Like we can check the shift charts and stuff afterwards, but I don’t know. Uh Luckland Irving says, “I’m not going to sugarcoat it, guys. That game stunk.” Absolutely did. Oh, here we go. We got trade lanin and send Joseph O’ Conor Lebade Oman Ratu and Banks to the AHL. I don’t know if you know we’re kind of short for players, so I’ll leave that as is. At this point, go spend a late round pick on a center who can at least confidently say is an NHL player because they’ll lose every game if they deploy the same lineup as tonight. So, first part of this, a late round pick. So he’s saying spend a third or a fourth to seventh round pick on a center who’s like a fourth liner. Is that I don’t even think we have the cap space to do that because we have like so many retention like salary against it against the cap. So I don’t even think we can do that without sending a player the other way. But the second part of this question is what concerns me or not question the second part of this statement is what concerns me because they’ll lose every game if they deploy the same lineup as tonight. You play Nashville next, then you play Montreal and then Edmonton on a backto-back and then you play the Rangers. I can realistically see I mean the Predators aren’t that great of a team but they have good players. So similar situation to Pittsburgh. So, we’ve seen that the Canucks can lose a game like that. You play Montreal on Saturday, who’s probably been the hottest team in the NHL. Now, luckily, it’s going to be in Vancouver, so yay. Then you play Edmonton on a second half of the back of a backto-back on Sunday. Again, lots of games under these guys’ legs and you’re going against McDavid and Dry Cidle and you know that whole situation. And then you get two days of rest. No, one day of rest. You get you get a Monday off and then Tuesday you’re back at it against JT Miller and the New York Rangers. I can see the Conucks losing the next four if the lineup stays the same. Now Besser should be back for Nashville. At least they’re hopeful. Teddy Bluger should be back whether it’s Nashville or Montreal and then obviously the games after that. So, Hedle, I mean, he’s either coming back in the next couple weeks or we won’t see him for the rest of the season is what the vibe is currently with Hedel. So, a little bit worried. A little bit worried. Elias Patterson had what, one shift in the last 10 minutes of the game. I will have to see the um the shift charts to see Penguins versus Abby Conucks essentially. Kucks hockey is so back. That’s hilarious. I mean, this is what happens when you got AHL players as your second line and his team or his account name is sell the team. That’s the thing, right? I mean, when I when we saw the lineups to start the game, you have three AHL guys on your second line. So it’s like what do you expect? You know what I mean? Going up against Crosby, going up against Malcolin. Well, realistically it was Malcolin more than Crosby cuz Crosby went up against Ratu and then Malcolin went up against uh the Abby line. Another invisible knight from 11.6. DJ here, man. Come on. You gota you got to be a positive guy even though he’s not wrong. Someone said put the fries in the bag. Joseph should never touch the ice again. know Conor’s uses. What does he bring? Blanken and rebound control is awful. This team is in trouble. Um, Joseph had a rough game. I think that shot block was really the the beginning of it all. He wasn’t the greatest throughout the game, too, to be honest. But, I mean, there is that. Okconor is useless. He’s a good skater. He’s a serviceable penalty killer. He’s somebody that you would want on your fourth line, third line. Uh, someone had said, “So, it’s time to trade Quinn and Tank for McKenna and start a real rebuild.” You know, the Conucks, they won’t do that. I’m talking about the rebuild part. Oh, here we go. Hypothetically, Kucks fans, would you be willing to trade Quinn if it brought back if it brought pieces back that the Canucks so desperately need? Oh, okay. That’s we’re we’re going to ignore that response. Demco might have to play 60 games, win in Nashville and it’s still an amazing trip. That’s the thing. So again, second part, win in Nashville and it’s still an amazing trip. Even if you lose in Nashville, going three and two on the road trip is not a bad thing, but winning and going 4-1 really makes it stand out as a good road trip for the Canucks. Demco having to play 60 games. I don’t want to blame Lankin for this. It was just not I mean, you can’t really say anybody had a good night, if that makes sense. Yep. That that about does it. Okay. More political stuff. Someone said it’s okay. Just win on Thursday again. That is that is a possibility. So when Cops was a kuck, every long shot went in. Why aren’t we firing everything towards the net? I mean, most of our shots were from the point. So the fact that it didn’t go in is I don’t know, maybe he’s developing as a goalender. I’m not liking where Patterson is position-wise. Neither does Hughes. It almost looked like Pety doesn’t really want the puck. Yeah. I don’t I don’t know. Like you would think on the right half while on the power play at the very least like you can one time the puck and he did it once tonight and he absolutely missed the net by a mile. And I more so I more so saw a little weird exchange between Hughes and Garland that put Hughes in a bit of a weird spot. But I don’t know at five on five. Yeah, Patterson’s just kind of looks a little bit lost out there if I’m being totally honest. I will always watch the Conucks game until it’s done, even if we’re losing really badly. Someone said hashtagfirefoot and then add Alvine to that as well. Oh, there’s a hashtagfire Alvine. And oh, this guy’s back again. Why did you guys allow Joseph to play a game? He’s done nothing but cost a team as you had some rookie Dman who could play some minutes. I mean, what you’re saying play Mancini? Thought Mancini got sent down or something like that. They aren’t going to trade Hughes and he’s not going to New Jersey either. Just put a sock in it for fakes. Coten is a kuck tomorrow. Oh jeez. I guess Kanye is not saving us. Uh Tom Lander probably gets in for Joseph on uh Thursday against Nashville. F off of calling Kane the Conucks player of the game. Yeah, like why why were they not giving that to to Garland? Yeah, a lot of people not happy with Joseph’s game. So that is going to be it for that section of everything. Let’s see how many people do we have in. We got two viewers in the chat currently. So again, I’m going to open the floor to you guys if you want to ask me any questions about the game, your thoughts on the team, etc., etc. before we go into my kind of review and thoughts of the game, which if I’m being totally honest, I don’t know what to say other than the first five minutes were all Canucks and then after that they kind of turtled. Oh, actually I did want to look at the shift charts. Was any Kuck player a star of the game? Three stars of the game? Hell no. Absolutely not. But in terms of like did any Conucks player have a good game tonight? Uh I I guess Garland actually uh I’ll have to check well in terms of eye test I would say Garland and Elias Patterson DPD but I will check um the shift chart and the box score and stuff. Wow, the Ducks are up 4-2 on the Predators and Beckett Senica has his third goal of the season. Carter Gochier has his fourth and Leo Carlson, god damn, literally all of the young guys for Anaheim with goals. Uh, the Kings are up on the Blues, which is bad for us. The Devils beat the Leafs 5, too. Golly. And the Oilers are up. Oh, no. The Oilers won in overtime uh against the Senators. It looks like it was Jake Walman in overtime, a power play goal. So, Seattle lost, which is good. Edmonton won, which is bad. LA is currently winning, which is bad. Uh, okay. So, yeah, the Jackets are being the stars, but I’m more looking for Pacific Division teams and potential wild card teams. And I think Dallas is probably not a wild card team. That’s why I’m not paying too much attention to them. Like I like the Avalanche in Utah game that’s about to to happen. That’s a game to look out for. Hopefully, uh, Colorado does us a solid there. Does us a solid. I can’t speak. Um, yeah. So, let’s take a look at the shift charts. Oh, they don’t have the shift charts available yet. Dang it. I take a look at the box score. I can. So let’s go back. So let’s take a look first for the Canucks in terms of time on ice. So we have for the forwards we have Sherwood at 20 minutes, Garland at 19 12, Evander Kane at 17 12, Atuatu at 17. So it looks like that was the Conucks second line. I Well, no, it was the first line. Sure. Kane and Ratu played most. Yeah, they were in the they’re three of the top four. That was the first line tonight. Why is Patterson only playing 1656? Why is Dress playing 1350? Okay, you know what? Maybe that one guy on Twitter that said Adam foot’s deployment was bad and I disagree with maybe that guy was right in terms of the deployment of ice time. Why is Patterson playing 1656? Why is de Brusk playing 50 seconds 42 seconds more than Drew O’ Connor? Something something’s not right. Um that’s a little strange. The Abbisford line got pretty much 12 minutes each give or take. uh Oman Labate. I guess Okconor was there for the penalty kill and was taking a shift with uh Kane here and there. So about 10 minutes for the fourth line, 12 minutes for the third line, the Abby line, the top line. I mean this is this is unacceptable. Why is why is that happening? Garland was out there because he was on the power play penalty kill. He was out there in every situation. But these guys were too. Like they should be two. Excuse me. Um Sherwood, Garland, sorry, Sherwood, Kane, and Ratu are up against um Sydney Crosby minus ones. Not the best game from them. I thought that they should have changed the lines here. Put Kane with Person and Garland, maybe something. Yeah, the Conucks only had three shots in the second period. I knew it. I was like, they I think they only had I I said that I think they only had four. They end up only having three. And that was the period that killed them, right? Going down 4-1 or 3-1 into the second period, something like that. That was brutal. Finally, the kill was awful today. How the second power play unit was able to bully the Canucks, I don’t know. Time on ice for the defenseman. I mean, Hughes Heronic, Meyers, Marcus Person only played 1754. That’s interesting. Elias Patterson, I thought had a decent game. Uh, Joseph was not great. Only played 12 minutes and when he was on the ice, it wasn’t great. Lankin with 808 save percentage as well. Yeah, there’s not a lot of positives here other than like, hey, like Ferson got a assist, he got a point, he was a plus one in 17 minutes. So, yay. I guess I wish they had the shift charts available. Not available right now. Oh, that’s the wrong button. There you go. Whoopsies. All right. So, I guess now I’m just going to go into my uh into my game review. Should I leave the chat on? Yeah, we’ll just leave it. All right. So, I’m about to go into quote unquote YouTube mode here. So, if you do put something in the chat, I might read it, I might not. The Vancouver Conucks lose 51 to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Let’s talk about it. So, the Conucks are on a three-game winning streak heading into this game against the Penguins. two games left on this road trip and against the Penguins, they should be able to beat them and get two points. And against Nashville, it’s kind of the same situation, right? Teams with high quality players, but in terms of an overall team outlook, not the greatest. But heading into this game, a lot of absences for the Canucks. So Brock Besser still out with personal reasons. He’s expected to potentially be back against the Nashville Predators. Philip Heedle obviously taking that big hit from Tom Wilson. He is out indefinitely. Teddy Bluger still out as well or at the very least he was out for this game and we don’t really know why. If there’s an injury or personal reasons, whatever the case may be. Jonathan Leer Mackey also injured. So, we have a lot of AHL players called up and playing in tonight’s game. I actually need to get the lineup back up. So, of course, Adam Foot had to make a lot of line changes. So, the first line being Jake De Brusk with Elas Person and Connor Garland. The second line, at least that was deployed tonight, was Kefir Sherwood with Evander Kane and Atu Ratu. And the third line being the Abby line with Archie Baines, Mac Assassin, and Lenus Carlson. On the fourth line, that leaves Drew O’ Conor with Neil’s Oman making his season debut and Joseph Lebate making his season debut as well. And on the blue line, there was no Mancini tonight. It was Joseph who steps in. So, it’s Elas. No, that’s Elias. I always mess that up. And on defense, there was one change for Victor Mancini. It was Pierre Oliver Joseph stepping in alongside of Elias Person. And the other two lines stayed the same. It was Marcus Person with Tyler Meyers as well as Quinn Hughes with Philip Heronic. Dude, can you if you’re going to put anything, can you be productive, please? Really starting to to tick me off. That’s crazy, bro. Come on. I’m recording. This is I’m editing this part to be a YouTube video. Come on, man. Anyways, so to start this game, it was Connor Garland 2 minutes in or about a minute and a half walks in and snipes it. low blocker on Arur Celovs making his first start against the Vancouver Conucks, his former team, and makes it one- nothing. I’m literally I’m going to ban you. I am going to ban you. I have the ability to do it. I’m going to do it. What even happened after that? Oh, yeah. And that would really kick off the game for the Canucks. At least for the opening five minutes, the Canucks were really all over the Pittsburgh Penguins. The shots were like six to nothing at some point. And it looked like the Conucks were going to cruise to another victory on the road. So, the Penguin’s first goal, I believe that came after the power play ended. Let’s take a look. I forgot. Yeah, I think they got a power play. They didn’t score. See, Evander Kane two minutes for hooking at 8:23 and then they scored at 11:39. Yeah. And then after Evander Kane takes a hooking penalty. I mean, at this point, the Penguins were all over Vancouver. The Canucks couldn’t get the puck out of their own end. And Evander Kane takes a hooking penalty. The Penguins go to the power play. Their first power play unit doesn’t really create too many opportunities. Their second unit comes out and was actually showing a lot of offensive pressure on the Canucks. And with about 30 seconds left, they only had that much time to operate. And it was Justin Brazo and Anthony Mantha really just creating something out of nothing. And the Conucks are still able to kill the penalty off. But the pressure doesn’t end there from the Penguins. And it goes back to the point to Witherspoon who shoots. And there might have been a deflection. Like to me personally, it looked like it went straight in, but they gave it to Connor Der who tips it in. And it’s 1-1. And then I think that’s how the period went. Can you at least put the right like word? It’s it’s star, not start. Jeez. Um, and then we took a penalty. Yeah, that nothing really happened. So then the Canucks take a penalty to end the period. Oh, okay. Distracting me. So then the Canucks take a penalty to end the period. And again, another timely penalty at the end of the period where they shouldn’t be taking penalties. Just get to the end of the period. But luckily the Penguins don’t score and it goes I messed up. And it ends up being 1-1 to end the period. Can you I’m banning you. I’m sorry. I have to I have to cuz this is going in the video and I can’t cut you out. But at the very least, you know what? I’m going to I’m going to remove the giraffe. There you go. I’ll I’ll leave your star in. This is so funny. How many people do we have? I have four people watching and one of them is my friend that’s messing up my YouTube video. Holy moly. Can you Jesus? If you do one more thing, I’m actually going to like ban you or I’m going to hide everything that you you put in the chat. Now I got to look back at the [ __ ] play by play. God damn it. It’s so funny. I don’t even remember like the way the game went. I was just like so zoned out. So, second period happens and then the Canucks take a penalty, right? Oh, I see. Okay. So, really to summarize the first period, the Conucks were dominating the first five minutes of this game and then it was all Pittsburgh after that. They get the goal that they deserve, but at the very least, it’s 1-1 heading into the second period. So, what do the Canucks do? They absolutely turtle and do nothing to get themselves back in this game. It was all Pittsburgh again. They just picked up where they left off in the first period. And at the very least, the Conucks finally got some sustained zone pressure. It was the third line of the Abbottzford line and the fourth line, but Drew O’ Conor takes a penalty behind the Pittsburgh Net in the offensive zone and the Penguins go back to the power play. And like I had mentioned at this point, the second power play unit for Pittsburgh was a lot more deadly than the top unit that had Crosby and Malcolin and Latang and who whoever else. But it was Justin Brazo as well as Anthony Mantha really making things happen on this second unit. And so what ends up happening is Tommy Novak picks up the puck on the right hand side of the Canucks net. And really Elias Patterson and brother’s name Heronic, Philip Heronic were unable to close out in time as Tommy Novak walks in and snipes on Kevin Lanken. There wasn’t even a screen in front. There was nobody covering the eyes of Lanken. This one beats him clean and the Penguins go up 2-1. I was like, “What the heck?” Philip Heronic, that’s his name. And so now the Canucks are down 2-1. So you expect some sort of fight back, some sort of urgency from them. But they end the second period with only three shots on target on Archer Cobs. and you’re not going to win a game by doing that. And Pittsburgh finally get rewarded for their efforts uh in the first period and in the second period in terms of just dominating play. So Cindy Crosby actually gets waved out of the faceoff. It’s Ricard Raquel and Crosby comes off of the right half wall into the middle of the net and he snipes it clean on Lanken into the top corner. Now again, another goal on Lanken where he had nobody in front of him. Now I know it’s Crosby, but if I’m being totally honest, looking at the replay, it was more of a fluttering puck that went into the net rather than a clean snipe. So I know it’s Crosby, but I want LinkedIn to at least get a piece of it. And it just goes in and it’s 3-1. And this is where everything would change. So again, now the Canucks down by a multi-goal lead and it’s the Abbottzford line again back at it. They’re really the only line creating. Notice how I have nothing to say about Elias Patterson, Jake De Brusk, and Connor Garland and the other line of Sherwood, Kane, and Ratu. It was the Abbeby line that was really the only line that could have some sort of sustained zone pressure. And Max Sassin comes so close to scoring to make it 3-2, but he’s unable to do so. The Penguins go down the other way. It’s of Genei Malcin who gets a step on his man, makes a power move to the net. It goes off of Lankin’s pad and Max Sassin, who’s still on the ice. At this point, I think he was on the ice for over a minute and he’s tracking back, but he can’t get in front of Anthony Mantha who gets his stick onto it. and the puck’s heading towards the net and then he gets another stick on it and he puts it into the back of the net. So, a swing that could have been 32 ends up being 4-1. And that’s how it would go. Ah, and that’s how it it would English and that’s how it would end going into the third period. Now, at this point, being down by three goals is not ideal, but we know the Canucks can come back. These guys have been fighting back from deficits the entire season so far, it seems. And so, it’s definitely possible, but the Conucks again can’t really generate too many option. I can’t speak today, but the Canucks can’t really generate too much offense and it ends up being another power play goal. And again by the second unit. I can’t speak. I can’t speak. And again, it’s the second unit for the Pittsburgh Penguins. I need water or something, but we’re almost at the end. Now, at this point in the game, it’s the beginning of the third period. You’re down by three and you take a penalty. Now, if you kill off this penalty, it could give you some momentum to then generate some offense and tie the game. But it’s just a random shot in by Chris Latang from the neutral zone into the left corner. It bounces back to Anthony Mantha, who then does a backhand 360 hook pass into the slot. And Justin Brazo, who’s right-handed, doesn’t even get a one-time shot away or a clean shot. It’s just a shovel into the top corner and another goal that Lanken probably should have had. But at the same time, it really felt like the Conucks were just checked out at this point. And then yeah, that’s pretty much how the game would end. The Canucks not really fighting back, not creating too many chances. Archer Celov stops all but one of the Canucks 24 shots. And yeah, that’s pretty much it for the game. I mean, in terms of my thoughts and things that maybe could have gone better. I mean, the Canucks lineup tonight, you have way too many AHL level players going up against an experienced Sydney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Like if this was maybe the Anaheim Ducks, maybe the San Jose Sharks, you might find success with this lineup, but you’re going up against Crosby and Malcolin who are on different lines. We saw the Malcolin line have a ton of success against the Abbottzford line, the second power play unit against, you know, whoever we had out there. It was just a tough night overall for every single player in the lineup. And what concerns me going forward is the fact that we have Nashville next who is very similar to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Then we have Montreal, one of the hottest teams in the league right now. We have the Edmonton Oilers and they just finally got their first win to break this losing streak that they’ve been on. and you have McDavid and Dell to go up against and we saw what happened last time the Canucks played Edmonton and we’re not even going to have half of those players most likely and then we play JT Miller and the New York Rangers on Tuesday. So, a lot of games for the Canucks and it’s potentially going to be a very very bad stretch of games. Now, I don’t think the Canucks are going to be able to make some sort of trade or change that’s going to really change this lineup and change the trajectory of the games moving forward. So, they’re going to just kind of have to play through it. And with the current lineup of games that we have, it looks like we’re going to be struggling to, you know, at least get a point out of some of these games. So, it’s going to be very tough to see. Uh, in terms of the box score, if we look at the time on ice actually for the Canucks, I mean, Alias Patterson playing 16 minutes, Jake De Brusk playing 13 and a half minutes. It just doesn’t really make sense to me why the Atuatu line had most of the ice time tonight when you’re away from home and you don’t have last change. So, Adam Foot was intentionally putting out the Ratu line more than the Patterson line. Quinn Hughes again just looked kind of checked out. I mean, he did try to generate offense, but it just seemed like when the offense wasn’t there for him, he was just kind of giving up a little bit. And so, really bad body language from your captain. And especially with the whole situation around him looming, it’s really not a good look. Pier Oliver, Joseph had a tough game tonight. I mean, he did block a shot and that might have affected him the rest of the night, but turning the puck over, taking penalties, I mean, he really did everything wrong tonight. So, a tough game. So, we might see Tom Wanderer make his NHL debut against the Nashville Predators. That is yet to be seen, but it’s something that we could potentially look forward to. I think that’s it, right? Did I miss anything? Yeah, I guess I’ll do like a overall and a wrap. So, all in all, a very disappointing game for the Canucks. Especially how the game started the first five minutes. It looks like ah. So, all in all, a very frustrating and disappointing game for the Vancouver Conucks, especially after the first five minutes where it looked like they were going to take the game to Pittsburgh. But it did turn out to be that way. Archer Celovs gets the win against his former team and the Conucks are back in action against the Nashville Predators on Thursday. And like always, make sure to leave a like and subscribe for more. Peace. And we’re done. Thoughts on CM Punk versus Jay Uso. I think see he knows nothing is perfect. They know. Um thoughts on CM Punk versus Jay Uso? I mean, we might as well talk about stuff other that other than the Canucks because there’s nothing positive to say there. Um, thoughts on Punk versus Uso? I like I like the ending shot there when Jimmy was kind of in between the two of them. I thought that was really well done. I think everybody’s starting to experience a little bit of fatigue with Jay Uso now in another world title match because like evidently they didn’t want to put him into the title match against Gunther in the first place. They end up doing it anyways. Then they take the title off of him and now they’re putting him back. So this is like two years now or a year and a half of of Jay Uso now being in the main event. I know that’s his thing. I know that’s the mantra, main event Jay Uso. But if we’re being totally honest, like I would have liked to see somebody else. I think Dominic Mysterio has too many things going on right now. He’s got like two titles and then uh LA Knight. I mean, yeah, I I think LA Knight deserves an opportunity, but he might need to be like a heel to do so at this point. Jimmy Uso would have been nice, but it doesn’t really make sense. So, I don’t know. We’ll see what happens with that. Two positives and I’m reaching here. won the top line scored again and Ratu was 56% in the faceoff. No, that’s that’s actually very valid. I noticed that as well. So, obviously, if you look at the box score, Person plus one and has an assist. That’s that’s a positive. You know, it’s not 11.6 million, but it’s a positive. Uh, and I noticed during the game that Ratu was winning a lot of faceoffs against Crosby because a majority of the game Ratu was matched up against Crosby. And I know Crosby scored, but for the most part at five on five it was it was ideal. Do you stream during all the games? No. So the thing is with my So obviously I do this as a hobby, as a thing on the side. I don’t make any money from this. Not yet. And so uh my actual work schedule is Thursday, Friday, Saturday. and I work 10our shifts from 1:30 to sorry 2:30 p.m. to 100 a.m. So there’s no chance I can have any shot at uh live streaming the games. I’m usually active on Twitter still or X during the games on those days which I know is a majority of the Conucks like games at least the big ones. Sundays I’m usually busy with uh soccer and I have other stuff going on on Sundays. So, usually I’m busy. So, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, if the Conucks have games, more likely than not, I’m going to stream them. So, the last stream I did was the St. Louis Blues, I believe on Monday. I believe it was last Monday. Um, and then the next one that I can do is technically the Sunday. No, I can’t do the Sunday game. Actually, the next one I technically can do is the Tuesday game against the Rangers, but that depends on the start time. Is that a 7:00 game? Because if that’s a 7 o’clock game, I might not be able to. Just going to check right now. Sunday, Tuesday, it is a 7 o’clock game. So, next Tuesday against the Rangers, most likely uh is the next one. Yeah, it is in Vancouver. So, yeah, most likely next Tuesday, but I might have movie plans with friends, so it depends. If we go Monday, then I’ll be fine. But if we go Tuesday, it might be tough cuz the game’s going to end around the time the movie starts. So, I don’t know. We’ll see. I’ll I’ll keep you updated. I wasn’t very transparent with the whole last two games in terms of posting and stuff. So, that was that was my bad. But I’ll uh I’ll either post a update on Tik Tok or I’ll do a if you’ve subscribed to this channel, I’ll do a uh a general post just saying that I will be live for the game on Tuesday. So that is uh that is pretty much how it goes. But yeah, so that’s pretty much uh if you’re ever interested for a collab, let me know. I’m live during every game. I’m always looking for good intermission guests. Yeah, I’m down. I’m so down. Um let me one second here. Okay. So, I just subscribed to uh So, I just subscribed to your channel. So, definitely I don’t know if we can do it during intermissions. Um, yeah. I don’t know. We’ll we’ll sort that out if we can do a call mid. Yeah, we’ll sort that out. If we can do a call like mid game during the interviews or if we just want to do a collab live stream in totality, I’m also down for that. So, um, yeah, we can we can definitely speak after this and I’m, yeah, I’m totally down for a collab, whether that’s streams or just regular videos or whatever the case may be. Blue Jack has most likely also won their game. Who was Columbus playing again? Was that um that wasn’t LA? Is that Seattle? Oh, the Stars, right? I mean, it’s always good when Western teams lose, but uh Oh, wow. They’re up 4-1. The Blues and Kings are tied at one with five minutes to go in the third. Really don’t want that game to go to overtime. That would suck. Can we bring Crosby home with us? H the Olympics were here in 2010, my brother. It is 2025. So if we take a look at the division right now, actually I just want to take a look. So Anaheim has two games in hand on us. I mean, we’re still second in the division. We’re tied with Seattle 4 second. The Oilers are behind us by a point. Dude, the Vegas Golden Knights have a plus 10 goal differential already. Damn. But I mean, we have Nashville next. They’re bottom of their division. Montreal’s second. Then we have a huge game against Edmonton. Where are the Rangers at? The Rangers are sixth. They’re not off to the best start either. They just can’t score though. That’s the problem with the Rangers. Defensively and goalending. I mean, they’ve I think goals against 15. only Washington has less goals for sorry less goals against their division. So, a bit of a weird weird one there with the Rangers. I mean, the Stars, they’re three and two. They still have a couple games to catch up, but maybe they are going to be a wild card team. Chicago’s off to a good start. This is a weird start to the season. It’s like for whatever reason it feels like all the bad teams are doing bad and then both the mid teams and the good teams are all doing good. Like it’s competitive between pretty much everybody. Is it just me or is am I Am I bugging with saying that or the Pacific division is so funny? Literally Vegas is the only team with a positive goal differential. Everybody else is in the negatives. Canox is a minus one. Kraken minus4. Oilers minus two. Ducks -4, Kings – 7, San Jose -3, Calgary minus 15. In the Metro, everybody’s a positive except for the Islanders minus 2 and the Jackets minus one. Yeah, I don’t know. Okay, it is 7:30. Oh, I’ve been live for three and a half hours. I think it’s time to wrap it up. I got to get that uh Pux video edited and posted hopefully before uh ideally before 8:30. So for anybody in the chat, I just want to say thanks for being here tonight. It didn’t go our way, but it is what it is. And yeah, I hope you guys have a good night. Stay safe and yeah, that is it for me. Peace.
