Pre-Game | Ryan Huska – 18.10.25

You talked yesterday about um Zayn’s potential partner wanting someone reliable, wanting someone steady, and also wanting someone to seize that opportunity. Uh what what can you see? What are you hoping to see out of Jake tonight if he gets that opportunity this evening? Yeah, just a responsible two-way game is what we’re looking for. So, you know, when you’re paired with a younger defenseman that’s learning his way, you want someone on his side that is responsible and um can help guide or lead or however you want to put it. And that’s we’re not looking for anything magical. We want Jake to play his game, but we want to see a responsible game with that. You’ve had success in hostile environments, starting games. You look at, you know, the first period in Utah and and uh you know, even Tuesday against this team, the first period you had there. How how can you replicate those kind of starts here tonight in what’s certain to be another loud building? I think you that all comes down to preparation over the course of the day like we we give the players what they need to have. Um and then how they go about their afternoons to make sure they’re set with what we have to do against this team tonight is important and then when it comes back to game time or puck drop, you just go and play and trust your instincts and trust what you’re trying to get accomplished. And uh for our team, I I think we have to be really dialed in on on our play around both nets. We have to do a good job protecting our goalender and we have to make sure you do a great job of getting to theirs.
